HIII!!! I wanted to get this done sooner but had to transition my brain from "OUTSIDE WOOOO" to "Sit yo ass down BOI" so this took a little...oops? BUT here ya go!!!

Texas-

*Slaps on back of the head* Oh this bad boy can fit SO much trauma

He has a human family but boy is he not human, he’s closer to human than Jersey and Maryland but whatever he is sure ain’t human

LOVES Transformers, the movies, shows, comics, all of it (whata nerd)

He’s very easy to become friends with so long as you give him the chance and you’re not at The Table

He’s a lovable dumbass and if one cannot handle that then one shall not be friends with sir cowboy

Surprisingly friends with New Jersey, they got closer after teaching each other how to cook certain things (Brisket and Pizza)

Adores cuddles, whether he’s big spoon or little spoon, he love ‘em

Is decently good friends with California, they may not agree on everything but the two been slowly learning that you don’t have to be friends with just those that share your same views and beliefs (a hard lesson for both to understand)

Oh you best believe this boy has become super best friends with Alberta, how could he not!? They are literally Walmart him!!

Used to go into the rivers near his home to dive for treasure, almost always found guns, so much so that he had to stop as his collection was a bit too big to take care of them all (he gave some to other states over time)

Oh wait yeah *clears throat* ✨~Guns~✨ 

He loves bats, thinks they are the most adorable little weirdos in the world and will do ANYTHING to protect them

Oh does he love to dance, will always find a victim someone to dance with, somehow always ends up being Oklahoma

He doesn’t really understand hockey but he’s trying (the southern states with teams are making sure of that) and he does understand why it’s popular, it’s the ✨~violence~✨

He will get what he wants, one way or another, no matter how long it takes and if he only has what he wants for a minute or two, he will get it.

New headcanon

The states do have their own music tastes but if an artist is from their state, they will unironically love their music.

So imagine they do karaoke or something and California starts singing In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young. Or on the opposite side, Texas singing Same Old Love by Selena Gomez. Florida singing anything by Arianna Grande or NSYNC. Gov knowing every word of Under my Skin by Jukebox the Ghost. New York knowing all the words to any Nicki Minaj song. Loui singing How to Love by Lil Wayne. Oklahoma belting Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Nevada singing his heart out to Victorious by Panic at the Disco.

I'm gonna force my texas headcanons on you yayy

My favorite personality is texas being transfem i actually forgot this one for a good bit but yeah i remembered it recently, i like to think the reason she doesn't figure out her dysphoria sooner is because partly she doesn't have that strong dysphoria and just thinks it's general insecurity that everyone has

I also imagine texas just not talking as a kid, i feel they just took a while to get it figured out i also imagine he had a weird voice for some reason

He has perception lens but doesn't use them because he doesn't like the look of them, another optional thing to my theory is that he might need them to drive but still doesn't and when someone finds his license says he needs his glasses they're just like "oh my god you could've killed me!"

He falls asleep right after work, for like 3-4 hours because of his sleep patterns (totally not me and school)

He crochets, i just gave him my one of my hobbies

Transfem Texas is not something I would have thought of and yet it fits so well. Justa dumbass not realizing anything until someone gives a dare to wear a dress and of course Texas would never back down from a dare, so once the dress is on it’s like “…oh shit”

I mean Texases whole thing is guns soo…it would make sense if he was the quite kid, made fun of for his voice being weird and snapped…seems accurate

Blind as fuck Texas is hilarious, no one understands how this man has come so far without his glasses. The best shot in the StateHouse who actually uses guns consistently, best aim just in general for most things, I mean they don’t even ever see him stumble into stuff. Then they are on the road and get pulled over, Texas has someone grab his license for him and BAMB card says like “Yo ass so blind you couldn’t find a nuclear reactor if it wss right in front of ya” and everyone in the car is automatically terrified :D

Texas needs more hobbies than just ✨~Gun~✨ so him crocheting I can get behind. Same with the napping after work, cause let’s be honest here, there is no way that man is on a sleep schedule that is healthy enough to even PRETEND to be a sleep schedule XD

Alaska n Cali ? ^_^ romantic or platonic, or neither, just how they’d interact doesn’t matter to me, just curious :33

I AM SO SORRY THAT THIS IS SO LATE. I meant to do this sooner I swear, I just had no idea how to do what I needed to on Google Docs mobile. Anyway, I went the platonic route sorta, it can read as romantic as well, sooo HERE!!!!

Alaska and California-

Cuddles, all the cuddles, it’s what they do like 80% of the time when they’re together

Alaska will just pick Cali up at random, like it’s the more normal thing in the world, and Cali just takes it

They don’t actually talk much when together, well Alaska doesn’t, Cali yaps

Cali somehow managed to get Alaska to watch anime with them one time, it ended at ep 4 when girl + dog = lot’s of crying from the both of them

Alaska has a pet bear and Cali has the insatiable need to pet and cuddle things that can kill him

They have gone to multiple sports games together, despite Alaska not liking the crowds and Cali not like the noise or the crowds, according to Cali it’s “a bonding experience to watch your team win while on the bring of either shutting down or a panic attack” 

Cali does sketches of Alaska throughout the day, sometimes the drawings include other states but normally it’s just him, then at the end of the day Cali will give them all to Alaska who proceeds to put them all on the fridge in the garage

Winter vacay is determined by a coin flip, it’s normally with Alaska (it’s not rigged, Alaska just always picks the right side)

Cali tried to get Alaska to understand the appeal video games, then ended up getting demolished by him because of tilt control on Mario Kart

Alaska taught Cali how to ice fish, how to safely skate on open ice, and how to be silent in the woods

The two are just very close, Cali is an outcast not by choice and Alaska is one by choice, it’s an interesting relationship

Cali was incredibly close to telling Alaska about the fact that he writes fanfics, they didn’t but the fact that he was going to is something of note

Cali steals Alaska’s hoodies and shirts since they SWIM in them

Have I mentioned cuddles? Because that is basically what the whole relationship is built upon, cuddles. So. Many. Cuddles.

Headcanon time because my tag paragraphs get shorted to nada and I didn't realize

Okay I'm a dumbass and didn't ever realize or notice that tumblr has a tag cap, because at least to my knowledge it does not tell you that you've hit a limit. So I shall rant about a kinda dumb headcanon I have for the states.

Warning: This bitch is longer than I thought it would be, you have been warned!!

ALRIGHT SO. The way I tend to draw the height for states is based off of two things, their state size and vibes, this is however excluded for the OG13 and then some.

This rule-ish not applying to them is because they all have actual families. Now you may be thinking "What the hell does that mean" and I am so glad you asked.

I haven't really talked about outside of the headcanon things but both New Jersey and New York have families, NJ his moms and technically the devil from the bible, NY his grandparents.

This also goes for the rest of the OG13, they all have families that while those who raised them aren't around anymore that family line still is. This is to the exception of Maryland because he is somehow even farther from being human than states normally are.

Anyway because of this, the OG13 heights are not based in state size, instead it is technically a strange mix between family genes and land size, only technically because those like Mass and Virginia are both taller(mass) and shorter(ginny) than one would assume based on state size. It's basically a ruelette on whether or not you get genes over state size and somehow Rhode STILL managed to be short as hell, bro rolled wrong TWICE XD.

Now it should be interesting to note that it's pretty much only the OG13 that have weird height despite the few other states who have family are locked to their state size. This would include Texas, Louisiana, both the Dakotas, Utah, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Minnesota Wisconsin and Michigan- I see these three at least somewhat related in some way shape or form so thats why they are together like that.

So despite states out side of the OG13 having actual human families they are related to, it's only the OG13 that aren't state size locked and there could be some reasons for this.

For one it could be that colonies more or less aren't locked to their size, mainly because colonies can mix and it's shown quite a lot in history that there were no firm lines between colonies. So it would make sense that when the states (then colonies) were growing up they weren't locked to the size of the colony and rather just their family genes.

It could also be that because they were already adult age (or close to it) it was too far for weird border magic to effect them since they were too old and such. This would make sense and work well with this idea that the other states with families outside of the OG13 are sized locked because their borders were a lot clearer by the time they were older.

Another reason could be because they all have families, which yes doesn't make much sense but here me out. All of them excluding NJ and Maryland had normal human families, it could be that because they had families they were only labeled as personified states once the country became a country. This doesn't mean that they weren't already personifications, just that you have to be labeled a state for border size to take effect, however once again since they were all already adults or almost adults, it wouldn't take effect.

And the final reason I can think of could just be that they were a special case, considering the fact that (if I'm remembering correctly) there aren't personification of the Canadian provinces in canon. It very well could be that yes normally states whether they have family or not are state sized locked, but since they would have been a special case in that there weren't personification like them before that the magic creating state personifications was newly born and didn't have rules yet. This would also explain why they would have families to begin with, the magic had to pick those who lived there to be those personifications, meaning they originally human. The only real problem with this one is the fact that states outside of them have families, however this could be explained, it could have been a lack of people in the area to build a personification from, it also could have been in the southern states case that because family is pretty important there, it made sense to chose those from families instead while still keeping the rules in place.

Now this is a whole lot and it kind of sounds like I've gone insane thinking about this but honestly this is mainly just me typing before I think lol. Is it clear that I needed a reason as to why some states are not close to their state size, because I feel like it is.

I do want to say that the states do have some control over their height, Texas could get taller but it would feel wrong and that goes for most already tall states, it's vice versa for the smaller states who may already be at their height cap by default. I'm not super sure if the OG13 should be able to change their height slightly, mainly because they are all more human to an extent than the other states, of course ignoring whatever the hell Mary is and the fact that NJ is related to the devil from the bible because lord knows those two are not as close (or close at all in Mary's case) to being human like their fellow states with families.

Now height isn't super important but I feel it can explain some dynamics people may have. If you have a tall friend and a short friend, theres gonna be a lot of short jokes. Two short friends and it's a whole lot of complaining about not being able to reach anything. Two tall friends and it's either complaining about feeling claustrophobic in lower ceilings or feeling like your god because your taller than everyone. Two friends of the exact same height and it will always be a competition to see who is truly taller (it's neither but their in denial).

You have to think about these things when making characters because it can effect the dynamic, obviously not by much but still, it's important to know. So while this might seem like far to much thinking when it's literally just a funny internet series that was the only way you knew the news during covid, I find it important. Sure I may never actually write a proper fic and I will probably really only stick to my funny lil drawings, it feels important.

My drawings are like snippets to what happens in the day to day crazy-ness in either the Statehouse or just with the states, thus it is important to me that I have their heights to how I have my headcanons set up when drawing. It's small details like that, that convey a story when drawing without doing an actual comic, it brings life when I know my drawings can be a little stiff, it's about the story and maybe that's just the writer within me talking but I don't care XD.

Basically I just like having some sort of reason as to why the heights for the OG13 aren't consistent with their state size when I draw them. What can I say, I'm a dork :D.

This was just a random idea I had. In my brain Central Jersey is the Jersey that shows the most, problem is is since CJ is so...let's go with disconnected, with the rest of the country he gets overwhelmed, and sure North could just switch in and South could do the same if they all wanted to scare the others with a southern accent that has the slang of the California coast, but watching a place that doesn't exist (it totally does btw) is way funnier.

Besides, by now all the other states that aren't the OG13 think that New Jersey has brown-looks red in certain light-eyes and it would scare the devil out of 'em if they see the red eyes that North actually has (and considering it's HIS body, it is far to tempting).

Also is it obvious that I love the idea that it's the Jersey's and not just Jersey, like I live here, if it's one singular state then I'm from Pennsylvania (I may have been born there but I sure as heaven ain't from there). Jersey would be three different states if we wanted to be associated with the rest of the country more than we already are, that and we may not agree on things but we don't HATE each other, we leave that for the rest of the country (plus let's be real, central wouldn't exist and then what would north and south argue about?)

Anyway as a proud Centralian looking at the news of the rest of the country is overwhelming, I just want to go skating, to the arcade, and continue lovin our favorite Devil, and down the shore when it's nice (and no, down don't mean literally down, though normally we are going down).

New Jersey-

Refuses to try Poutine, says that it’s just Disco Fries but worse

Suffers every summer, he can deal with the heat but he doesn’t like it

Never fully understood why murder was so bad until around the 90s when some good friends of his got murdered

He doesn’t like hurting the OG13 since he considers them apart of his family, so whenever he does it’s a complete tonal shift for about a week

He doesn’t actually smell all to bad, just like a normal guy, but he can make it worse however it only affects the states

He REALLY hates rain storms, whether it’s tropical or a hurricane or just a storm with lightning he HATES it, he’s actually gotten a lot better since the 2010s since before he would just have a panic attack the entire time (York helped a lot with this)

His hair gets frosted tips whenever there’s snow sticking in the state, if it’s a lot of snow his face will get way paler, his cheeks blueish and his freckles look like snowflakes

“Jersey if you stab Colorado with your skate blade again I’m tellin yer Ma” -Mass every single time there’s a hockey game between NJ and CO

Was inducted into a knitting club by his friend who worked at the library, all the old ladies in the club are very nice and have helped Jersey get as good at knitting as he is now

While he has had a lot of hobbies over the years, he only has a few active ones, such as knitting and cooking and garden/farm stuff (hockey doesn’t count because it’s a lifestyle not a hobby, his words)

Is not a fan of the Nintendo Switch, only owns one because what else is he going to do? Transfer games onto the DS illegally? (yes but that’s besides the point)

Oh he has horns and a tail alright, but he doesn’t have them always, he can just hide them and whatnot so most of the states don’t actually know that he does, only the OG13 know because oh boy did he have horrible control over it as a young child

Was very confused when he found out that the other states don’t have family’s, that they just spawned out of nowhere, in his mind it shouldn’t be possible but it is (“You can’t just CREATE mass like that, just because magic exists doesn’t mean you can just IGNORE SCIENCE!!!!”)

While he cooks a TON at the StateHouse, he actually tends to eat out when at home, support local diners oh and Wawa and QuickCheck

Was very obsessed with demon magic and stuff during the pandemic in the StateHouse, listen he was bored and curious, it was stupid but fun

Hiii I'm so sorry that this took so long, I was kinda stumped and was doing other things BUT I did finally get around to it so HERE

California-

He has a lot of hobbies, such as hiking and making loom bracelets, if it exists it was probably a hobby of theirs

Has always been interested in how personifications/states came to be, most just appeared one day, some are related to each other or other countries, while a very small group (pretty much just the OG13 and Louisiana) are related to humans, it’s all very interesting and mildly terrifying to him

Trained marksman, owns two guns but rarely uses them unless their stressed, then it’s off to the shooting range (or ya know, he'll just shut down, honestly him going to the range doesn't happen too often when he's stressed but it is always an option)

Actually pretty close to the Canadian provinces, at least closer to them than they are with most of the states (Alberta scares him though, will never be alone with Alberta)

Loves astrology, knows everything that he can and had tried to get the other states into it but with no success (technically, they actually got Connecticut pretty into the science side of it)

Space cat

Likes to stargaze, occasionally will drag Nevada and Utah out with him, they can’t get Arizona to go unless he is dying

Animal Crossing ruined him and he loves the games so much (New Leaf's their fav)

Louisiana-

He’s chaotic, just as bad as Florida but not nearly as obvious

Dyslexic, normally with English but it can affect him when reading French as well

Was really wary of the NE for most of his childhood as a state, now he is generally fine with them but there is no way he in going into any of their states willingly

Has been in a small prank war with Kansas since the 60s, over that time other southern states have been dragged in every so often

If he’s exhausted then there is no hope for understanding him

He won’t be in a good mood if he’s away from Florida for more than two days

He and Nevada go to parties in their states, switching every time

Is really chill and not aware of anything if he doesn’t have a daiquiri or any type of alcohol for more than a day

Has gotten into multiple fights with numerous states because of his quote on quote drinking problem, “it’s not a problem *state name here* I will literally die without it”

Always has a song stuck in his head, he has zero control over what the song is so it could be the most annoying thing in the world or something that puts him to sleep

The Cooking Mama god, The Babysitting Mama god, The every Mama game ever god, he is way to good at them

Has a few pets, 3 lizards, 2 cats, a few gators, and a snake

Absolutely loves horror games

He loves to see different magic systems and how they work in video games and books, it’s his favorite pastime 

He started to ask Jersey about his magic and how it works slowly but surely once he started to trust him more

He and Florida fell into the Hudson on one of their first visits, never again (seriously how are York and Jersey alive!??)

Cryptids are real, he’s met a bunch, but it is so much funnier to say they aren’t when California tries to prove they are

Collects YuGiOh cards, started because Florida got really into Pokémon but he couldn’t get into it as much

Likes to draw, just anything that comes to mind it goes on paper

Has a pin board, he mostly has button pins and enamel pins from anything and everything

Will just lay on states if there is no room on the couch, he doesn’t care if there is another couch, he wanted to be on this one and he doesn’t care how

I am so sorry for this being literal DAYS late, things happen but I still feel bad, anyway I shall deliver as it is better late than never!!

Doesn’t like planes (feel like it obvious why)

Can figure skate, likes to do so for 30 minutes as a warm up before hockey

He has a lot of scars, pretty much all on his chest and arms though he does have a good few on his legs

Met Delaware when he visited Netherlands home for the first time, he continued to visit every weekend until Netherland had to leave

Actually likes Netherland, way better than England that’s for sure

He found out that there was a another New state when he found New Mexico going through his kitchen, he still doesn’t have a single idea how NM had gotten there and neither does NM

Friendship bracelets, specifically Loom (the rubber bands)

He has some problems with his own humanity because while yes he is a state personification, he also had parents and has grandparents, something that pretty much every state except for a few have,  swimming in the Hudson didn’t help at all seeing as now he’s all sorts of something

While he and Jersey seem attached at the hip, they actually don’t spend nearly as much time together as the other states thing, yeah they are slightly attached at the hip but they will go weeks without a single hello at times

Hates change, he went through so much of it as a child that he can’t stand it now

He can’t really drive, like he has his license but is terrified to use it in his own state, he prefers public transport in the city rather than driving and always lets Jersey drive whenever they are in a car

He doesn’t like fireworks, they are pretty much way to loud for him to be okay

Hehe I was super excited to do this one but sadly I do things in order of oldest to newest BUT none the less, here you go, our favorite stupid bastards

New Jersey and New York-

Jersey likes to cuddle and York likes receiving cuddles, so it isn’t uncommon to find the two together in the North living room

Jersey = Jer-bear, York = Yorka-doodle, they never call each other these in front of others

They go skating a ton, early morning public skate and public hockey are mainly what they do

Always fighting when it comes to certain foods, specifically pizza and bagels, otherwise they are perfect with each other in the kitchen

Jersey sends York stupid stuff from Tumblr, York does the same but with Twitter

Impromptu sleepovers in York's room happen a lot, York has sleep problems and as said before, Jersey cuddles, win win sitch

They fight, a lot, technically it’s just arguments but to pretty much everyone except the NE, it sounds like fighting (granted the NE sometimes thinks they are genuinely fighting but shh)

“Murder is illegal”  “You can’t murder people it’s rude” etc. are said whenever they are in the city

Despite not talking to each other for about 40ish years, they went right back to how they were before, if just a bit closer

They both fake hate each other, for no reason other than seeing the shocked faces of the other states while they simply cook breakfast together

Just Dance Night (the other states get flashbacks when ever they hear the Just Dance intro)

They like to just exist in the same space, doesn’t matter if they are doing two completely different things, they’ll continue to hang out VIRGINIA

They bet on everything, who will get to the table faster, who will make breakfast the quickest without messing up, everything

They always think to message the other first when something is happening, doesn’t matter if the sitch doesn’t really need the other, they still will

Since Jersey still speaks fluent Dutch and York has his broken messed up Dutch that Jersey understands, they will ‘gossip’ to each other in front of the other states

When they do that, they are really just talking about dinner plans and what movies they should see, but in the most condescending and judgmental tone they can

Movie dates, any movie whether they think it’ll be good or not

They sometimes come of as very big and little brother coded, York being the older while Jerseys the younger, when in reality it’s switched

Jersey finds it hilarious whenever people think he and York are dating, they aren’t, they consider each other brothers and technically are, York always wants to kill the people who do think they are dating, “Murder is Illegal Yorkie” he doesn’t care

Family dinners are once a month with Jersey’s moms and occasionally not, father, father, and York's grandparents

They have so much dirt on each other that if one says something so will the other, you know the nuclear deal between America and Russia? Yeah it’s basically that but with blackmail

If one’s sick the others clingy, if one's sad the others clingy, if one-

They like to dance with each other, even if there’s no music (it’s mainly spinning without music though)

Jersey has bad English days sometimes, so York will translate, on those days they tend to just haul up in York's room and put on a random Hockey game

The last of my NJ headcanons. Now let it be known that there will probably be more in the future, considering he is my favorite, HOWEVER this is all I have for now lol.

New Jersey-

Normally is presenting more as Central Jersey, his tics are from North and South trying to speak at the same time

Because of slightly demonic magic, Jersey is fractured like how his state is, there’s North, South, and Central, they can all split into their own persons with North looking the same, but not for too long

While Jersey has used many names during his life, the one his mothers gave him is the only few actually know, Jonah Eriksson Bakker, Eriksson being his Mother’s last name and Bakker his Ma’s

Despite it being hundreds of years, he still isn’t used to English, words never come out quite right, there’s almost always something just slightly missed pronounced even when taking his accent into account

If he’s upset or tired he has a pretty heavy lisp, which along with his already heavy accent when feeling any emotion makes him pretty impossible to understand, the only ones that do are York, Del, and surprisingly Penn

Likes to call New York ‘Yorkie’ Vermont ‘Monty’ Kentucky ‘Ken’ (he’s the only one allowed too) California ‘Westie’ Florida ‘Dia’ ‘Sunshine’ or ‘Flo Rida’ and says Texas like how a Russian would (he has no idea why he started to he just did one day)

The Jersey Devil is real, Jerseys met it multiple times in his life, sometimes they exist in the same space in the Pine Barrens, but most times they don’t

Jersey has a Jersey Devil plush, had it since he was a young child, it’s his prized possession along with one of Connie’s books from the 1850s that he ‘borrowed’ 

When he was younger, Jersey would go to Devil’s Tree to read, it's how he learn the hard way, that his not father father is not the only demon that resides in NJ

In contrast to York, Jersey LOVES drop towers, thinks that they are the second best theme park flat ride to ever exist (the first are those super scramblers that flip while spinning)

Threw his shoe at York so much that Penn ended up buying him sandals as a joke, a joke that Jersey didn’t understand until YEARS later, he still loves and uses those sandals, his aim is unmatched when it comes to hitting York

Would get hit by Yorkie every time he said the R word (which he still doesn't fully believe is a slur but whatever Yorkie), this was specifically during the 2000s

New Jersey-

So his father is TECHNICALLY the devil, not the Jersey Devil nono just..the devil

Because his father is literally Satan, Louisiana was very cautious around him in the beginning, Jersey did everything he could think of to gain his trust before realizing that it’ll take Loui time before he does

Jersey has two moms, one (Mother) is Swedish while the other (Ma) is Dutch

He has magic, like its demon magic but he has magic, he’s also able to grab a full health report crops and plants, he isn’t the garden state for no reason

While some states are tall or short depending on their state size, New Jersey is in the group (mainly just OG13) that isn’t his height because of his state

Speaking of height, he’s about 5’8, he’s not short, that doesn’t mean he won’t jump onto the counters to get stuff from the shelves, it just mean he doesn’t need too

Technically doesn’t have a soul, the states all have souls but Jersey is kinda soulless, only kinda and technically though because he does have one, he just doesn’t own it

HUGE nerd, loves anything from Star Trek to TMNT to Kingdom Hearts

Feel like this is obvious but he is a MASSIVE hockey guy, loves it, love to play it, thinks the Rangers can go to hell and so can the Flyers, literally only cares about the Devils

He is pretty neutral when it comes to football, both NY’s team plays in his state sure but they aren’t his, that doesn’t mean he won’t root for them, he just needs to be told too

Collects Baseball cards and used to play as well, but so did everyone else and their father in the 60s

Loves to make fudge and taffy, knows every states favorite of both and if they don’t like either he also knows everyone’s favorite chocolates as well

Has great memory, which is his downfall most times when he doesn’t want to remember

Has severe trauma, has gone through many therapists because of it before landing on his current one

Calls Sweden ‘Father Sweden’ and Netherland ‘Dad Netherland’, both are not too sure why or how he started calling them that, let only Jersey himself

Florida-

Chronic biter, if brain says bite he bite

Begged Jersey to take him to Action Park when he learned about the CannonBall Loop, he’s still disappointed that Wet ‘N Wild never did anything that fun

He doesn’t spend ALL his time at Disney, just a sizable amount of time is spent there

Has numerous pets, an alligator, crocodile, Florida panther, an unknown number of crabs, and different types of fish

He also has a baby alligator with Loui at the StateHouse that Gov has given up trying to remove

Unlike Cali, he actually can cook, he doesn’t do it too often but when he absolutely needs too or is bored he will

Likes barging into Cali’s room at random without any warning

Got into Pokémon briefly during the 90s, has a ton of very rare and expensive cards just lying around his home

Likes to doodle, on everything anywhere

Thinks he’s speaking Spanish half the time, has a very hard time comprehending English, it’s why he can’t read, he can but just Spanish and only kind of most of the time

There are times where he’s just very mellow and it terrifies everybody

Has a llama plush that he brought with him EVERYWHERE when he was younger, now it resides in his room at the StateHouse

While he likes to explode things, he doesn’t like out of control fire, something something trauma?

Steals Cali’s laptop at times, it’s just funny

He and Loui love to just exist in the same area, even if they aren’t doing something together or are just sitting around not speaking, they just like the closeness

Does almost everything with Loui but if he isn’t around then Florida will just mope and sulk until someone bothers him

He doesn’t get sad often but if he does it’s straight to Loui he goes, if Loui isn’t around then he goes to Cali and if Cali isn’t around then he goes to Jersey for reasons still unknown to everyone including Jersey himself

Pretty much exclusively listens to Spanish music, which would be fine if he didn’t play it at 3 in the morning scaring the hell out of all the southern (+Jersey since his room is there) states in the South Hall

I didn't think the list was going to be as long as it is but once I started thinking more and more I couldn't stop lol

California-

Wet cat

He/They and no he won’t stop reminding you

Was very obsessed with shiny things, especially gold, when he was younger, now he’s only a “normal” amount of obsessed

Very pretty, like the definition, like if you look up the definition of pretty in the dictionary he comes up

Has an obscene amount of stim/fidget toys, squishies, the poke ones, even fidget spinners, they have them all 

Worked at the Berkeley laboratory in the 90s, specifically Berkeley’s element hunting team

Used to be obsessed with Creepypastas, however is now obsessed with cryptids (“They aren’t the same thing shut up *state name here*” has been said a lot)

Will slip into a southern accent without warning, has given multiple southern states heart attacks because of this on more than 10 occasions

Loves to write, especially fanfiction, however there is no way they would EVER willingly show anyone these, they did once when he was drunk but New York never mentioned it and Cali did not remember

Loves Stardew Valley and Minecraft, will play them both for hours without realizing

Has absolutely horrible time management, as well as their general perception of time is also atrocious

Loves podcasts, tends to listen to them more than YouTube videos

The times that Jersey dragged him to Action Park ended with hospital stays and praying that the doctors wouldn’t notice that he should definitely be dead

Been watching Smosh since it first started

Disney adult and proud

He started streaming on Twitch during the pandemic, occasionally being joined by Jersey, Nevada, or York, Florida joined stream once and has since been banned

Don’t listen to what York says, he definitely knows how to cook (re: he has no idea what they are doing in the kitchen without help)

Knows a handful of languages but only fully knows English and Spanish, though he can read and understand Russian, they just can’t speak it

Was forced to wear a dress once by Nevada and that’s how they realized he wasn’t fully male

He doesn’t actually mind feminine pronouns, just prefers He/They

Has a ridiculously long skincare routine, at least 2 hours at night and an hour in the morning

Used to be attached at the hip with Washington and Oregon, they are all still close in a similar but not as much way like the NE are

They and New Mexico go out with Arizona once every few weeks to different areas of their respective states, occasionally Texas will join

Cali and Texas aren’t related, they were both raised at one point by Mexico at the same time sure but they aren’t related

Loves to learn about different cultures, especially Asian cultures

Didn’t hate crowds until the pandemic, now can’t stand them

His room is extremely cluttered and disorganized, can’t even be considered organized chaos, their working on it (York had a stern talk with them about it)

They actually do understand Football, he just doesn’t like the sport all too much

He likes games, board games, arcades, video games, all of them, if they exist he most likely has something about it in his basement

Jersey managed to convince him to go to Action Park one time in the 90s, never again (he almost drowned....thrice)

Is one of the best shots out of all the states, not that he’ll ever use a gun anymore

He’s completely different when he’s sick, clingy and whiny and not to be left alone, imagine a 4 year old, that’s him when sick

He doesn’t like crowds, probably because of old timey trauma

When he went back to high school, he became a slight scene kid, just slightly

Was severely touched starved before the StateHouse, now though he is only what the NE considers a normal amount of touched starved

Cat.......that’s it, he’s basically just a cat

Will drink tea just to piss Mass off

Doesn’t like the cold, he used to go down to Florida during the winter in the 70s and 80s, however Jersey, Connie, and NH managed to convince him that the cold is worth it because snow

He doesn’t like Domino’s or Papa John’s, to him they are just cheap imitations of good Italian food (despite Domino’s not being Italian)

Knew Italian first, then learned Dutch and later English, if he’s exhausted he’ll speak Dutch most likely, if he’s exhausted AND sick he speaks Italian and good luck understanding him cause oh boy it’s Italian from like 400 years ago

It’s hard for him to genuinely hate people, for a long time he only genuinely hated England, though that hate has faded overtime

He used to like wave pools, and then he almost drowned (thrice) (no he will never NOT use this as an excuse to not go to a New Jersey waterpark)

Once lost a bet and had to be a cat boy maid for a day (Still mad at Nevada about it)

New York-

Has grandparents, it’s best you don’t question how they are still alive

Theater kid, has seen Hamilton and Wicked more times than he can count

Always moving, normally just tapping his foot or tapping his fingers, not nearly as bad as NJ and holds this over his head

“I have better ADHD than you do” has been said multiple times by him to NJ

Likes to hike, doesn’t get a chance to do it often but when he can he does, not alone though, never alone

Met Mass for the first time when he was changed from New Amsterdam to New York

Had a harder time understanding certain accents when he was younger, not as bad as NJ but it still caused a problem for a while

Knows Italian and Spanish, he can still understand and write in Dutch but can’t properly speak it

Used to call Jersey ‘Joisey’ in the early 2000s, had to stop or else they would have gone to war

Currently calls Jersey ‘Jerz’ or ‘Taffy’, occasionally calls him ‘Trent’ but that normally ends with a shoe to the head

Likes to call Cali ‘B’ and ‘Nia’

Will occasionally call Florida ‘Disney’ and ‘Swampy’

He does own a gun but prefers a knife

During 2020 he did cooking videos and ‘how to acquire *blank item*’ videos, would sometimes be joined by Vermont and Maine

New Hampshire is his cousin and his brother depending on the situation 

While he denies it, he was the one who created the New state group chat

Despite there being a no pet rule in the StateHouse, New York has at least 5 pigeons and 2 cats

He finds it hard to show he cares about the other states, he can really only show that care to New Jersey and California

He’s a happy drunk, just don’t mention anything that happened in his own state and he will stay that way

He likes to do puzzles

While he likes horror movies, he can’t do horror games

He and Jersey stopped talking when they both were in the mafia, only reconnecting in the 90s

He like to do sketches of his states, he has at least 16 sketch books

He and Cali go roller skating

New York never host NE game night, despite this he always tends to provide snacks

In 2000, New York, Jersey, Rhode, and a few southern states went back to highschool, during this He, Jersey, and Rhode all got Tumblr accounts, which are still used

While he prefers to be alone, he likes sleepovers, often times he’ll drag Jersey to his room so he isn’t alone

He’s been cooking for Cali since he found out that Cali had somehow managed to burn water

He’s a nerd, huge nerd, only the NE knows and only Jersey and Penn know the extent of that nerdom
