Thank you so much for running @peroxide-foam! I love your take on labcore so much. It's refreshingly clean and crisp, perfect for those who want to be morally-ambiguous scientists who want to be more subtle about it or just don't like things that glow green. Props!
I should be the one saying thanks to you, Anonymous! I'm really glad to know someone's got similar sentiments about how science feels to them too.
Initially, I got into making 'clean' labcore moodboards as a way to drown the insecurities I had about my own laboratory by saying that it's okay if your workspaces are sterile and boring because there can be a massive sense of comfort in being able to focus on your experiments in a calm, non-overwhelming environment!
Btw, your message inspired me to collect even more. Thanks beyond kindly :)
One thing I absolutely adore about research papers is when they’re named something really sharp and professional like ‘Pseudomonas sp. Strain 273 Incorporates Organofluorine into the Lipid Bilayer during Growth with Fluorinated Alkanes‘ and then they put a graphical abstract that looks like this
Update: These are due for a repaint.
The shape of this is so awkward to hold when you’re trying to show the whole thing.
Where have I been? Why have I not posted in MONTHS? Despite feeling like it, I didn’t die!
Learning about library management so I can take better care of my own book collections and potentially get hired for it
Trying my absolute best to understand bioinformatics (It’s not going well, I feel like I’m too mentally worn down for this level of computer stuff.)
Writing out pages in the rough draft and background research phases for some of the open textbooks I want to publish
Sharpening my HTML/CSS skills to make a good website
Coming to terms with the fact I have kidney issues but being ignored by my doctor despite them being the one that tested me
Hoping to start learning Russian again when I have enough free time between studies and preparing experiments
Taking a break from data science for a bit (My understanding never got past pre-calc, technical math expects way too much from me)
...And last but not least, practicing my non-science related essays, because maybe I’d like to try my hand at cultural analysis (for fun)
Anyways, thanks for stopping by, I’ll keep posting art, but that's how my life is going at the moment. I wasn’t expecting to pass 500 followers, but here you guys are! Thank you!
