did anyone else get double life flashbacks… holy shit

okay so, i know that most people go into NBC Hannibal knowing that Hannibal is the main killer. But one thing i don’t see people talk about is the immediate foreshadowing we get that Hannibal is the Chesapeake Ripper, aka the person who created the wound man tableau, before we even knew that he MADE the wound man tableau.

i haven’t seen anyone talk about this by the way, like not a single soul do so much as acknowledge it. so i don’t know if this is common knowledge throughout the fandom??? or if it’s something most people don’t notice (to be fair, i didn’t notice it either on my first watch) but i’ll point it out for people who didn’t realize it nonetheless.

in episode 1 season 1, Apéritif, when we first see Jack Crawford meet Hannibal, there is a scene where Jack goes over and looks at Hannibal’s artwork. There is a piece of paper underneath the artwork.

what is this piece of paper, you may ask? It’s LITERALLY the wound man LMFAO.

i find this really funny because it’s a direct parallel to the scene with Miriam Lass, where she is sifting through Hannibal’s art and notices another image of the wound man.

it’s yet another portrayal of just how unobservant Jack Crawford is to who Hannibal Lecter truly is, despite it being right in front of his eyes. Because Hannibal isn’t even truly hiding it. It’s literally right there and Jack, a man who is both Chief of the BAU and the man who lead the Chesapeake Ripper case, doesn’t notice it. And Jack clearly doesn’t have an issue with overstepping boundaries, because he literally gets all up in Will’s face in the same episode, so he definitely COULD’VE moved the paper LOL

this isn’t even Jack hate btw. I literally love that guy. I just find this SO HUMOROUS considering that he was so defensive about Hannibal not being the Chesapeake Ripper when Will approached him with it when it was RIGHT THERE!!!

a detail that breaks my heart is Will Graham is sitting exactly in the same place where he was laying in "Mizumono"

and the crack in the wall tells us a story - it is a symbol of what happened to Will, how he feels

so beautiful, so tragical

Guys I think I know what the narrative is this season

It's not a server wide war or a sitcom-esque neighbourhood

It's not Wild Life because everyone is going Wild, but rather because only some people are

Think about it; how many references to past seasons there have been with people being predictable; the near opposite of wild, vs the amount of people who took a 180 in strategy and attitude this particular season

Think of any player and I bet you'll be able to figure out which one they fit in to

It's even the fact that there's one Wild player in each team

Bamboozlers:

Scar - Lotta 3rd Life references from the theme park concept (which was the original idea for Monopoly Mountain), the reputation board, falling off a cliff whilst singing in his base, etc

Lizzie - Base surrounded by greenery, lot of lives (both from last life), created 3 pet parrots (3 pet dogs in Last Life)

They both make references to Secret Life nearing the start of last session with Scar reminding his team how he can handle Etho (then went on to kill Etho) and Lizzie thinking about her party no one came to

But Jimmy? My guy has 5 kills, one of them being a double kill, and is sitting comfortably at 3 lives alongside Scar; which is unexpected to say the least as usually Jimmy's unluckiness causes his teammates to get bad placings, but they all are doing well

Final Girls:

Scott - All his teammates he already teamed up with in past seasons (multiple times in some cases), he is playing his usual strategy of making allies not enemies; he literally said aloud 'We need to start making allies', his sacrificial nature towards his teammates has not changed whatsoever and has had multiple attempts on his life already

Pearl - Her skin is a reference to her red life self, who got particularly popular the last season she teamed with Scott might I add (Double Life), she got herself a dog whose name rhymes with Tilly (Double Life) and she is not particularly liked by Gem because of the season prior (Secret Life)

Cleo - The BigB betrayal is insane to have happen again; both on the 4th session with near identical titles (Last Life), not to mention she again went to Pearl and Scott after it happened. The fact that there was a forest fire this session aswell is really putting the wild in Wild Life

But Impulse? Oh boy, COMPLETE 180

Much more chaotic than usual; hell even Scott, Gem and Cleo pointed out this change. According to them, even his tone of voice has changed this season

Spanners:

Skizz - Loyal to his team as always and is a sweetheart through and through, apologising to Lizzie after he killed her. Again he was the first one killed (Limited Life), is one of the first reds and might be the 3rd out of the series again

Grian - As usual is only mad at the 'cheap' kills others make against himself and others, desperately trying to keep his teammates alive with little success, having a base with bridges (Limited Life) that go no where (Secret Life)

Which leaves Mumbo to be the wild player of this team

And if him causing Scott to die a non-voluntary death for the first time in like seasons, not being as polite with insulting Joel's car, yelling at Martyn and encouraging Grian to kick Skizz out but complimenting him to his face doesn't sound wild for Mumbo, I don't know what does. He's also been particularly attached to Grian, and considering he has the Miner curse (dies soon after the canary, or Jimmy) and Jimmy also seems to be wild, Grian might be this seasons canary

Similar thing with Gem, Etho and Bdubs. Gem saying she misses the kind Impulse, Etho and Bdubs arguing over a horse like every other season, etc

However, I believe Tango and Joel are a mix, leading them to be prominent players this time around. I already talked in a previous post about this season mimicking Last Life particularly Tango + Joel heading down what seems to be similar paths to Joel + Scott in Last Life

With mirroring past seasons players, they are wild with being very different AND the usual with being a walking reference

i love the mental images of grian making the murder snails:

I know this fandom is strictly focused on hannigram and I don’t blame anyone one bit but. You guys ever think about how Alana sacrificed her safety for Will, freeing Hannibal from Mason because she knew Hannibal would be the only one able to save him. She freed him knowing Hannibal would hunt her down and kill her in the future, because that’s what he promised.

Yet the last thing she tells him at Muskrat Farms is: “Promise me you’ll save him” and then she unties the beast. The beast she knows will kill her.

You ever think about that.

About how despite the incident she cares so deeply for Will still, even as they’re both entirely different people from when they fist met. Even if they aren’t compatible, maybe they’ve never been, there’s still tenderness lingering between the two. Alana keeps justifying Will, keeps blaming Hannibal to be the bad influence bringing the worst out of him, when by the end Will is totally in control of his actions.

The fact she still sees him as someone to be protected, kept away from the evil of the world, it makes my heart ache. Excuse me.

Am I the only one who finds this moment terribly intimate? I've never seen anyone focus on it. Just imagine if you remove the entire plot of Hannibal and add a certain pov: a policeman falls in love with a dangerous maniac criminal. Their eyes just speak for themselves.

Tw bpd jealousy vent

Bpd jealousy needs to be talked about more. I have a pretty severe case of it. I get jealous any time my fp gets joy from anything especially anyone who isn’t me.

I know this is “toxic” but it really is something I’m trying to work on. I guess when they get joy from other things, it kinda makes me feel replaceable?

Like the joy I bring them can just be switched out with those other things. If I was out of their life it wouldn’t impact them and they would still be able to be happy.

But if they were out of my life I wouldn’t be able to feel any sort of joy. I feel like I’m always going to be jealous unless my fp hates everyone except me. Or talks to only me.

I really wouldn’t like this though. I want my fp to have a healthy social life. It’s just something I have to learn to deal with. At the same time my whole life revolves around my fp.

I don’t talk to anyone but them, and I really don’t like talking to anyone but them. I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied until I know they love me the way I love them. I just wish I felt content. I hate being jealous so much.

I really am trying to work on it though. I’ve been working on it for a long time, I just don’t think it’s getting easier though :(

I just got a wild and long ask about Character AI and my only comment is that I still hate generative AI with a burning passion. It's bad for the environment (Generative AI uses a LOT of power and water to run), trained on stolen data from artists/writers without their consent to make cheap knockoffs, and isn't as fun as bothering my best friend to roleplay some stupid characters in our DMs.

While on the subject of Character AI, I've seen people make AI bots based on me. I do NOT consent to have ANY bots made to imitate me or any of my characters. There are no exceptions to this rule, I will report these bots and get them taken down. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable that people are making bots based on me and my personality. I'm a real person. Please treat me like one.

This month was already tight after taking so much time off for the wedding, but now my new spouse Lauryn’s cracked tooth we hoped to deal with after the new insurance kicked in got infected and became unsafe/unbearable.

yesterday was just a dream

We Hate not having memories,, we know we joke about it with our friends irl like "OMG,, I don't even remember what just happened >_<!!" In a silly goofy way,,

But the moment we're in class, with an assignment to pick five of the most valuable moments of our life, we blank, and get a 0, because we have no memories. Any vivid memory we have, we can't trust because for all we know - it's a dream ^_^!! (We have very vivid dreams for context),, or that.. it's just vague. We can feel it but it's like it's a locked up painting.

We're not even going to get into the jealousy and envy we feel with friends when they recall fun memories,, and we have to go "lol I don't remember rn"
