I haven’t watched Yellowjackets yet but she’s my favorite sorry 🥀🥀🥀

LOUD AND WRONG PEOPLE !!!

This is all I’ve been seeing on TikTok about season 3 and let’s be honest, TikTok yj fans are the worst but this is plain wrong.

Now, not saying you have to „defend“ Shauna in this season (no one asked u to, babe) but there was still depth to her character in season 3.

I was thrilled to see Shaunas character arc taking a different direction. Season 2 was all tragic and more or less reasonable but this is over now. Shauna is hurt, traumatized and all this hurt turned to anger. She shut herself of from the group but then she still wants power over them, some kind of thing she can be in control of. Because that’s a whole thing for her especially in the adult-timeline. When she gets that little bit of power with Melissa she thrives on it and gets greedy.

When for some reason the other girls don’t really try to stand up to her she lets the power get to her. That’s a classic trope. Starting with something small and getting away with it, to being in charge of the whole group. Not random pretty reasonable timeline.

Grief -> Anger -> Control and Power as an outlet for Anger -> Euphoria ->(Hybris)

That’s where we get the (for me world changing) line about Shauna having fun in the wilderness.

I definitely don’t think this is unreasonable and I strongly dislike people claiming this was bad writing.

One thing about Shauna and her beef with Mari is that she wants to be respected and worshipped and if she can't have that she want people to fear her. And Mari never did either. Mari never worshipped her nor felt like she had to walk around eggshells around Shauna like everyone else did. She didn't pity her. And she wasn't scared of her. Which is kind of stupid at times, but also really telling. The others saw Shauna as if she was the Terminator, but Mari always saw her as a pathetic teenage girl with a lot of insecurities. Which is how Shauna feels deep down and it drove her mad, having someone whose very presence reminded her of those insecurities. And she becomes leader and and Mari still wasn't afraid of her! She becomes Nat's biggest supporter instead! Nope, she never showed her fear toward Shauna. Not even when she was hunted. She was afraid of dying. Not of Shauna. Mari didn't even give Shauna the pleasure of looking her in the eye when she put the necklace on her. Shauna never had the treat of seeing fear in Mari's eyes. Instead Mari tried to take her out with a knife and then told Shauna off one last time, telling her she deserves everything (bad) that's gonna happen to her.

No respect. No fear. Ever. The only time Shauna could have any control over Mari was after Mari was dead. Which says a lot about Mari as a person.

I don’t think she’s like Jackie, who would’ve come back had those she loved tried a little more to coax her) VS Lottie’s little smile as she realises Shauna and Taissa (who are also two of the people who have criticised her most and disbelieved in her and the Wilderness), stay, maybe not for her but it’s enough

I am yet to meet someone who has Yellowjacket brainwork’s quite like mine cause mine made me the night before I watched episode two with friends start having symptoms of an anxiety attack (can here + feel my own heart but amplified, shortness of breath, kinda out of it but not in the panic attack way) and start physically shaking and no I wasn’t in distress cause my brain was just taking in the small spoiler I got (shaunahat) and absolutely bouncing off the walls with it

mari’s death was the death of the community they built. Just like laura lee’s was death of faith and javi’s death of innocence.

i saw a bunch of tweets about how travis is back on the shit list for trying to kill lottie and i thought to myself, “it’s yellowjackets, y’all.. grow up” 😅 but seriously?! you’re all pissed over attempted murder in a show like yellowjackets?? i mean, i love lottie too, but come on…….

and you truly can’t figure out why travis martinez would want revenge on lottie for inspiring shauna (and tai) to keep everyone in the wilderness??? let’s review, shall we? 🧐

his abusive father died violently in a plane crash and the corpse fell from a tree in front of him.

he was nearly killed by shauna and lottie and also kind of assaulted by some of the girls when they were all poisoned by misty. did he hold a grudge? no.

his little brother went missing for months during winter and travis searched for him until sort of going mad.

he mourned javi’s death once when nat showed him the bloody clothes.

then javi returned! but he was so traumatized by something out there that he had become selectively mute.

then javi drowned! so travis had to mourn javi again, for realsies. the shot of him cradling javi’s head while the predators watched on? HEARTBREAKING. he didn’t even get to say goodbye.

and, finally, he had to eat his own little brother’s corpse so that he wouldn’t die of starvation.

plus, he experienced all the General Trauma Stuff that everyone else felt too!! so yeah……… travis trying to kill lottie with a tiger pit? fair play, brother. i see you, man. i love you.

You don’t understand how horrifying Travis’s scenes in this episode were for me.

My thing with Travis is that I always thought that he survived the wilderness because he was so passive, he just goes along with what the girls do out of fear. He was seen as a victim of the girls. He wasn’t part of the group, he wasn’t one of them. I thought he was the most grounded along with Nat.

But this just threw all of that out of the window. If he wanted to take Lottie out he could’ve just grabbed a knife and gotten it over with. But no, he spent probably hours whittling each spike one by one, covering it up meticulously, and luring Lottie over to it. Repeating “I can’t.” to himself when he’s with her.

I expected his crash out to be just like an emotional outburst, but quietly making a brutal trap for someone who, for all we know, was his only friend for months. It’s something you wouldn’t expect from him, especially if you look at him in the beginning of the season. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, horrifying.

walter killed lottie. this is not 100% confirmed, obviously, but i feel like after the scene with misty at his house in ep 9, it's the most plausible theory.

so, here's why i think he did it.

after nat died, we all saw how dependent misty was on walter. my theory is that after misty started being independent again (well, the misty version of independent), walter missed that and decided that the only way for the 'problem' to be 'fixed' was for him to kill another one of the yellowjackets and entice misty into the mystery aspect of the murder, OR, have her so upset by lotties death that she would fall back into the needing him.
