Three of my favorite flag designs from my fundraiser. The top and bottom make use of old open source prints, the middle is all NASA photography.

As usual EVERYTHING I RAISE is for my best friend to support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

My favorites are probably the art nouveau print one, the NASA photography one and the bulbul holding a flag.

The extra income will help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. Recently we've started trying to help a friend of his get out of Gaza to an Egyptian university to continue their studies, if we can obtain the necessary permissions for them. If not the money will probably just go to helping a few more people get food.

I took a vintage ornamentation and turned it into a Palestinian flag for my fundraiser. The design can be found here.

He has also been supporting his girlfriend staying with him here in America these past few months; she is now heading back home. The immediate area around where she is from has been fairly secure recently. We're really hoping it stays that way. It will be sad to see her go, he has been noticeably less depressed with her here. She has been a great comfort to him.

I put together a minimal star and crescent design with the Palestinian flag. The star and crescent is a very old symbol, some version of it predates Islam to at least as far back as Byzantium around 300 BC. It became popular again under the Ottoman empire and from there grew in the 20th century to become a very standard symbol of Islam. Unlike the cross in Christianity it does not have a direct textual link to the religion, and some Muslims do not accept it as a religious symbol. Despite this it is still widely used.

As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my designs are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining in America until it's safe for her to travel back home (at this point she's hoping to head back soon-ish as her city has been somewhat safe recently) and to help support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

I've advertised my stickers a lot recently, I'd like to take a moment to put more focus on some of the clothing designs available in my shop (as usual, ALL PROCEEDS are for my Palestinian best friend to support his loved ones, and he will donate anything his family doesn't need to the various charities he works with):

I'd also like to note that you can change the colors on most of the shirts, you don't have to use the defaults I have set.

I'm very sick this week so my fundraising shop may slow down a little bit, I'll do my best to keep at it. The friend I am fundraising for is so sweet, he and his partner have brought me food and tea and generally taken care of me so much despite all that they are going through with their families back home under attack. They're really good people.

Palestine - The Land of Sad Oranges

The Jaffa orange holds a lot of symbolism for the Palestinian struggle. This varietal was developed in Palestine in the 19th century and named for the city Jaffa, where it was first produced for export. It has strong skin and few seeds, making it excellent for commercial use, so it was a major product from the region until the industry declined under British rule and disruption from WWII. Finally the establishment of Israel caused irreparable damage as groves were seized or destroyed by settlers. Israel took over production on seized land but never achieved the same success with the crop, and what remained of Palestine suffered ongoing violence and blockades preventing the industry there from further success. The Jaffa orange has remained a symbol of the Palestinian homeland, most notably in Ghassan Khanafani's short story The Land of Sad Oranges.

Palestinian Flag - NASA Photos

I wanted to share this one again while I wait for all my weekend designs to be approved. I colored this Palestinian flag with open source NASA photos.

Palestine Brushstroke Designs

Three brushstroke overlay photos, two of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound's Dome of the Rock and one of the Palestinian flag (edited to add "compound", the dome is not the main prayer hall in  المسجد الأقصى, thank you to @freepalestine-believer for pointing out the possible confusion).

For those who haven't seen my posts yet, my best friend (the nicest person I have EVER met, hands down) is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. Palestine Designs

My best friend is an absolutely brilliant scientist and all around amazing person. He genuinely tries to help everyone he meets. He'll interrupt a lunch to go buy lunch for the homeless people too. He's been involved in activism for more causes than I can count, often for things (like LGBTQ+ issues) that don't affect him personally, just because it's the right thing to do. He takes care of everyone else even when he doesn't have much for himself.

He is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family all around the Levant are being hurt either directly or financially by the war. Those of you who have been following this account know that for a little over a week now I have been adding Palestine related designs to my Redbubble shop. ALL PROCEEDS from these will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.
