Ren walks into the hall, admiring fans filling the air with compliments. Martyn scowls as he watches from his locker, knowing that none of these people have a chance with Ren, unlike him. Ren’s ‘fake’ smile bursts into a real one as he sees Martyn, face brightening up with joy. Martyn shares the reaction as he shoulders his bag and starts walking to Ren’s side. 

“Greetings, my hand, what brings thy beauty to my presence?” 

“My lord, I believe thy beauty is far more than mine,” he responded with a smile. 

Ren chuckles, “You flatter me,” He says, before turning to see more fans crowd the halls, smiling as he greets them. Martyn stares at the floor, Ren hasn’t made their relationship public yet, fearing his admirers might place threats on Martyn. Martyn thought that was really nice of him but...He wished the girls would leave him alone. Every time someone looked at Ren with those awe-filled eyes, flirting with him, asking to date him, Ren smiling and putting down their offer, always hurt Martyn in a way, always made him doubt their relationship. Could he be declining them because of me? Because he doesn’t wanna hurt my feelings?

 “-which is why I need your help, Martyn” Ren says, resting a hand on Martyn’s shoulder,  startling him out of his trance. 

“Huh-wha-sorry say that again?” Martyn stuttered, very conscious of Ren’s soft hand ever so close to his face. 

“I was just saying, I’ve finished my script for my new show, and I was just thinking, I know you are a great actor when it comes to it. Would you like to join me?” 

Martyn feels his jaw drop as his brain processes Ren’s offer. Closing it when he realises that it's open.  He finds himself unable to speak.  “I um.” Martyn stutters when he realises what exactly Ren is asking of him. “Are you sure you want me to act for you?”

Ren’s smile goes wider and Martyn feels his heart flutter at the sight. “You won’t be acting for me! You’ll be acting with me! C’mon dude, it’ll be so fun!” 

Martyn finally lets the dopamine settle in at the thought of acting along with the love of his life, and a grin spreads over his face. “Of course I’d love to.”

“I knew you’d say yes.” Ren says, chuckling along with his words. “I’ll send you the script to proofread over as normal. You can choose which guy is more to your liking to act.”

“Uhm yeah sure!” Martyn says as he stops in front of his class door. “Alrighty then, see you next period?”

“You bet my dude.” Ren responds as they fist bump. Ren then walks away backwards, blowing a kiss towards the other. Martyn feels his face flush, before miming to catch it and send it back. Ren chuckles and turns around, walking to his next class. Martyn sighs as he reluctantly pulls his eyes away from his boyfriend and enters the room.

Adrenaline was pumping through every bit of Martyn’s body. He was determined to steal the kill from Gem’s crew. They couldn’t stop him. He could even call them out if it was one of their tasks. He was really desperate for a correct guess. The relief that filled him when he guessed Tango’s task was, well, amazing. He grinned as he remembered Tango’s anguished face. It was perfect. He absent-mindedly followed Scott to the portal. He was excited to say the least. Charged with energy, he jumped in. The portal sucked Martyn in, plopping him onto an obsidian platform. Without thinking he walked forward, slipping on the edge. Soon enough he found himself falling. Falling into the endless void. He was in shock. His mind couldn’t process the fact that he fell off the platform. Martyn’s body ached more and more as he fell deeper into the void. Eventually he couldn’t take it anymore.

The winds picked up as Joel climbed higher and higher, threatening to push him over the edge any minute. 98….99….100. As he placed the last block, he took a moment to think about what he was about to do. He could hear the muffled yelling from his friends gathering down beneath him, Martyn was slowly climbing up the pole, ready to take a guess at his task. He could almost hear Grian’s protests to ‘be careful’. Joel knew Grian was anxious. Why was he scared again? It wasn’t like Grian’s the one up here. He shook his head, clearing any thoughts that would prevent him from completing his task. Joel needed this. It was almost like someone was watching him, not from below, but from above, egging him to jump. Egging him to fall. Egging him to DIE. Joel jumped. The wind grew stronger and stronger at each minute of his fall, whistling in his ear. He could feel the pressure of the atmosphere getting stronger. He fumbled to get his water bucket out of his inventory. Why didn’t I have it in my hand in the first place?! I’m such a blummin idiot.  I should’ve come prepared. I’m such a- Pain shot through his legs, his consciousness was fading, he could hear Grian’s anguished scream, the audience was in shock, He missed the water! I can’t believe he missed the water!  Someone..someone was laughing, laughing at him. He struggled to look up to find the culprit,  just to see a black figure with looming wings, all his eyes (eyes?) were filled with humour. The figure resembled someone he knew, someone he thought he could trust. “Grian?” Joel muttered. And then he passed out.

Gemcyt Rejuvenated jimmy headcanon

First some explanation

The color of a gem can give you a good indication of what their personalities are because of the way gems are made by the diamond putting their essence into their creations resulting in the gem inheriting looks powers and personality traits from their creator 

All the diamonds contribute to gem making process so a single gem usually is a combination of diamond traits it’s just that the mixture is uneven so the diamond that contributes more is the one that they get more from 

 An example of a gem that is a mix of multiple diamonds would be holly blue age she is a light blue with purple hair meaning the diamonds who’s essence was used to create her are pink white and blue

if it is a green gem then they have similar personalities to and even look like blue diamond and yellow diamond just like a red gem would be like pink diamond and yellow diamond 

Powers and roles are also a good way to glean information about a gem

blue gems are elites that can control water and ice they are mellow but they let their emotions stew and spill over 

Yellow gems make up much of the military and are technicians they are rational dutiful but also blunt

Pink gems are immature but empathetic the roles they take are entertainers and artists they seem to have an easier time shape shifting (their is a theory I’ve seen that they have fire powers but pink diamond never demonstrated it despite gems with pink essence having that ability)

White gems are perfectionists and self centered and are very high ranked 

white gems or gems that are lighter shades of the colors have high positions the lighter blue gems are higher than others(aquamarine and sapphire) while the darker shades or  mixed with to many different colors while valuable are not as high on the hierarchy( lapis and holly blue agate) also dark yellow or gems that are a yellow combo with pink and blue are common soldiers but topazes are a lighter shade of yellow than other yellow gems and also have a higher ranking than jasper who is orange

So Color is a good thing to keep in mind when making a gem au 

Using the information we can guess what their factory settings are 

Jimmy is a blue gem but is lighter than the average lapis and a little bit of green so if he was hit with a rejuvenator then I think his base personality would be like the sheriffs from empires season 2 but the negative traits turned up 

From white he has a I can do no wrong attitude 

From yellow he gets his stubbornness 

From blue he gets petty ness and elitism 

It sounds worse than it is he acts like an upper crust gem only sticking around because grian is a higher ranking than him but he ignores the lesser gems and gross organic life surrounding him

In order to get him back they need to jog his memory and for use to figure out what needs to happen to get him back we should make a back story here is my take

As soon as he emerged he was placed in a group of lapis they acted very much like mean lapis and nice lapis from the show very snide with lots of high school mean girl energy 

 but after he majorly screwed up on a terraform project he was sent to reeducation and when he returned they turned on him he became an outcast on the other side of the snide remarks 

and because of that realization once he reformed he made a change to his form by adding a veil he tried to hide his face out of shame but he also had hope that if he tried to get back in to the group he would eventually be excepted back but no matter what he tried he messed it up 

After three major failures the empire had given up on him and he was to be harvested but fortunately that was where he met a captured rebel martyn who he bonded with 

While they were waiting to be harvested they joked around and martyn made a joke about jimmy but to jimmy’s suprice he was not hurt by it because it didn’t feel malicious and like he was excluded 

he found he liked being the butt of the joke and opened up so when other rebels came for martyn Jimmy was offered a place on the team

Cut to current day and he doesn’t have his memories so In order to jog his memory he needs to get a slice of humble pie which won’t be hard to pull off because he is naturally clumsy but it can only be done by grian

Because if he is humiliated by a gem he sees as bellow him then he will pretend he didn’t hear the comments but if it is by an equal or superior then he will move on to the vail stage 

Then he will progress the veil stage and to get back his memories he needs to be put in a situation where he is emotional done and is with a gem lower on the totem pole that makes fun of him and he is ok with it

Pjo au Cleo

Cleo is the oracle but not just because she’s a red head artist like Rachel Elizabeth dare 

I just think the idea of her having to have someone fallow her with a mattress or hand to catch her after she’s done with the prophecy is hilarious 

because I’m imagining that it’s a mandatory job that all campers have to do in shifts and Martyn hates it

without fail he is always a no show when it’s his turn and he is downright shameless in his blatant ditching 

on the one and only occasion he did show she actually had a prophecy and he didn’t even try to catch her but he came up with a good excuse to get out of trouble 

after that day Cleo loathed him and petitioned for him to never be allowed to have oracle duty again at this point the counselors were ready to give up trying to get martyn to show and cleos word was the last nail in the coffin and as you can imagine martyn was ok with the erangment

And So martyn won the battle but Cleo would not let him win the war because she may be a mortal oracle but if she was a demigod her mom would totally be nemesis and we know it

My headcanons fallowing jimmy’s last episode

The entire time jimmy has been 15 and hit puberty very late just at the end that is why he jumped at the chance to have a mentor

also explains his rivalry with Joel in Greek myths gods are rather immature something about having enough power to do what ever you want with no consequences makes gods act like hormonal teens 

I think this jimmy is evo Jimmy

Jimmy was a 14 year old freshman and grian was 19 a senior that was held back a year 

It has been a year since evo ended so grian is 20 and Jimmy is 15 which makes his later bullying of Jimmy hilarious because he’s a young adult picking on a teenager 

He is the old sheriffs son I know the time is off because the old sheriffs said he was down there for thirty years but the only reason he knew that that was because he added 10 years for each chicken that died but chickens live 5-10 years so what if all the three chickens only lived 5 years each that would put him in there for 15 years

Just after his youngest son was born 

I think the sheriff might have suspected it due to his repeated statements that Jimmy is tiny and has wings like a fairy because jimmy’s mom is a fae 

The sheriff and jimmy’s mom met in the town because that area was always a hotspot for fae activity

The reason the sheriff didn’t leave his wife even though he didn’t want to be married is because she was a fae and was scared he would be cursed if he angered her and that is also why he started drinking 

My Headcanons for watcher lore

So there are watchers listeners and speakers and the three have the same power level so the watchers are not stronger than the others they have the same abilities the difference is how they respond and how they apply their power 

Watchers abuse their powers for selfish purposes they will not restrain themselves and because they don’t feel the need to care about consequences they show their ludicrous strength more freely and do to that are seen as more powerful by everyone that knows about them 

Listeners try to do something to stop the games and free the players that is what they use their powers for but they tread carefully they will be hesitant to do something to drastic they wait and listen for the right moment to act unlike the other two they put effort into being Subtle 

Speakers are what happens when a listener gets to invested and it becomes personal they lose patience and they get desperate they can’t hold their tongues anymore so instead of listening to reason they get reckless 

The watchers are apathetic and selfish only caring about their own entertainment and survival not giving a thought to the players wellbeing unless it messes with them

The listeners are realist and sympathetic when they saw the suffering they wanted to help but they don’t let it get to personal they help because it’s the right thing to do 

The speakers are emotional and empathetic they are listeners that grew attached to the players they feel responsible for and when the players they love are hurt one to many times they lash out throwing caution out the window which is why there’s so few 

They aren’t different creatures they are the same just at different stages of processing the fact that they are no longer human and have god like power 

Power corrupts and combined with peer pressure from already existing watchers it’s no wonder the watchers have larger numbers 

The color changes based on their temperament 

The watchers are purple 

The listeners are green 

The speakers are orange 

There’s not an immediate chance in color it works like a mood ring 

Take Grian he is more watcher than listener and speaker but because he has attachments and empathy and only keeps his watcher title because he uses his powers for entertaining pranks his color is magenta just leaning a tad bit more purple though he is steadily been moving towards red (his two colors that he is associated with are red and purple) 

Like the flock in cannon they named them selves

grian called himself pesky because that’s what the scientists called him do to him being the most difficult to control

Pearl was fade or shadow or something if anyone has a suggestion for it please share anyway it didn’t last long before she decided to change it to pearl but the reason for her original name was because when ever the scientists would talk about her power they would mention how she would blend into the background

Jimmy was canary because they didn’t have anything to really say about his personality and power because he was like 5 or something he didn’t have fleshed out a personality yet and even though he was the youngest which did cause him to be difficult he wasn’t as difficult as grian and he also didn’t have powers yet so the others called him by the bird the scientist said when they talked about his wings

martyn was similar there wasn’t anything that stood out other then what bird he was so his family called him wood because he has the wings of a wood pecker

after they escaped they chose new names that would allow them to blend in for and help keep the scientists from finding them

pearls the only one that kept her name it was passable as a name a normal girl would have at birth the reason she’s named pearl was because one of her only happy memories that didn’t involve her siblings in the lab was when she asked this janitor lady about some jewelry she was wearing and the lady told her about where she got it she probably got it as a gift and it wasn’t even a real pearl but that janitor gave her proof that there was a world outside the lab filled with gift giving people like the janitor

Martyns deal is that he’s a listener so it’s tempting to give him super hearing but in this au the listening aspect of his power are not him listening but instead others listening

he can enhance sounds that are not his own

so clapping or shouting won’t work he needs an object to make the sound for him and he has to be touching it

his power is that he can control the loudness of the sound that results from him taking an object and hitting it against another object

he has wood pecker wings get it wood

he has an ability that is useful but not in combat

Maximum ride au

grian Jimmy Martyn and pearl are the flock they are escaped avian lab experiments the only blood siblings are grian and pearl

Joel gives the winners a ride in his car, and they drive around to different seasons of the life series. It's basically an interdimensional travelling car. And then they crash into the side of Joel's base in hermitcraft because someone let martyn drive.

I think there are so many amazing bases you could draw in season 9 and this current season.

Grian's, Gem's, False's and Pearl's season 9 bases were iconic imo, and there's also the Decked Out castle. You could also go for the Post Office this season or Bdubs' frankly Ghibli style home, Keralis' vacation spot, or Joel's Japanese steampunk city.

These are such good ideas!! I'm gonna try and do one per season, maybe from season five onwards, so I have five artworks. I would love to do the decked out castle, I'll have to think over some of the other seasons. Although mumbo's base in season 7 was so so good.

I also did wonder if maybe I did five artworks of hermitcraft or maybe six/seven artworks of the life series. One representing each winner. Example:

- Grian/season 1: monopoly Mountain castle, sun motifs

-Scott/season 2: the cottage he and his allies based in, star motifs

-Pearl/season 3: her tower, moon motifs

-Martyn/season 4: The mean gills base (I cannot remember the name pls don't hate me), a mars motif? It'll be hard to include the planet in this one. But I can work it out.

-Scar/season 5: trader scars with the sun flower field, earth mofti

-Joel/season 6: Car

They won't be portraits but think of landscaping paintings. Like a mix of Claude Monet mixed with Van Gogh. It would be the same style for the hermitcraft artworks aswell.

OHHH I LOVE MUMBO AND ISKALL SO MUCH!!! they are so silly oh my god. The constant back n forth pranks? Mumbo adding blocks to the monstrosity?? Or standing still while talking to iskall??? They are so silly oh my god. I'm so glad i started watching both of them this season!! Don't rly ship them but they r an absolutely amazing duo and i hope i get to see more of their interactions during season 10!!!

Martyn and Scott... Mean gills! Imma be honest, it's been a WHILE since I've watched scotts limited life, but i remember them being quite entertaining :D their skins were so cool. Personally i don't ship them, but i def get the appeal. They a rly fun duo tho, especially during a life series! (i actually am searching up limited life as i type this... Looks like I'll be rewatching scotts vids again LMFAO). I generally think Scott, the sassy calculated one and Martyn, the dramatic roleplayer, are an amazing combo.

EFFO AND BDUBS!!! They r v silly. I haven't seen a lot of their interactions yet, since I've only watched effos season 8-10 and only recently started watching Bdubs s10, but their horse race project in season 8 was so cool! Im so sad they didnt get to finish it :( i don't rly ship them, but i think that's literally just bc of my boat boys hyperfixation... I did read a rly cool romantic longfic w/ them a while ago! It was p good :D other than that, i love their dynamic sm. Like, ethos 'calmer' teasing and Bdubs loud and dramatic personality make for some absolutely hilarious moments. Also, i wish they did a project together cause i absolutely LOVE both their building styles and i rlyyy wanna see them collaborate on a build!!! It would be so coolllll

Day 155 is tumblr people opinions on Listeners (from Day 124)

+ there was a lot of comments about Listeners having bats features, but I already showed this on Day 124 :D

Ok, so, here's a thing. I had a thought about Watchers and EvoSMP (Dunno if smb said this theory before). I believe that there was a moment when Taurtis was talking to Grian, then Grian said smth to audience (us) and Taurtis went like "Who are you talking to". Grian answered "To the audience". What if "the audience" is The Watchers? What if we are The Watchers?

Just think about it. We are talking to content creators, they listen to us, but other cc can't see us unless they really want to.

All the life games are happening partly because of the audience. They are happening because of us watching it.

And if we are creating fanon things, the only ones who can hear us are Grian and Martyn (with cannon happenings like smb asking questions "Who are you talking to" and considering the fact that Martyn is Listener). For everyone else on the servers their talkings with "audience" might be like posttraumatic things with Listeners and Wathers??? Like EvoSMP?

I don't know much about Listener Martyn lore, so can't give great theories about him

so.

cause i haven't drawn Martyn in a hot second i went looking at some old designs of mine and found that i used to draw him with fog/smoke/mist coming out the ends of his bandana. i did not have a reason other than uh it looked cool ?? however i do find it funny that it kinda mirrors Martin's connection with the Lonely with its fog manifestations.

anyways !! just two foggy wood guys who kind of like violence !! i'll probably do an actual complete drawing later but for now have some doodles

sure! The anatomy on this one is a little goofed but overall I’m extremely proud of this drawing (it helps that I spent several hours trying to get the line art neat just to see if I could lol)

Double life, aka Martyn’s biggest fumble to date. Also for their outfits Martyn I tried to make look like an anime boy because well it’s Martyn and Cleo I was scrolling though dnd character portraits for inspiration and I stumbled upon this one of a pirate and while most of it is her canon ‘fit, I did steal the pirate shirt cause it was too cool okay?!? Anyway uhh yeah also I know there is like a whole tagging system for Martyn and I’ve messed it up every single time I’ve posted a drawing of him let’s hope we don’t add this to the list of ‘times Ian screwed something up and then panicked about it for a gazillion years’ lol.
