Steps:
Identify Key Information: Select the material you need to learn.
Create a Study Schedule: Space your study sessions over increasing intervals (e.g., 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks).
Review Regularly: Revisit the material at each scheduled session.
Scientific Basis: Spaced repetition leverages the spacing effect, a phenomenon where information is more easily recalled when study sessions are spaced out over time. Research shows this technique enhances long-term retention compared to cramming.
Steps:
Prepare Your Paper: Divide your paper into three sections: a narrow left column for cues, a larger right column for notes, and a summary section at the bottom.
Take Notes: During lectures or readings, jot down key points in the right column.
Cue Column: After the session, fill in the left column with questions or keywords related to your notes.
Summarize: At the end of your notes, write a brief summary of the main points in the bottom section.
Review: Use the cues to test your recall and understanding.
Scientific Basis: The Cornell Method promotes active engagement with the material and encourages self-testing, which are both linked to improved memory and understanding through the retrieval practice effect.
Steps:
Survey: Quickly scan the material to get an overview.
Question: Formulate questions based on headings and subheadings.
Read: Read the material carefully to find answers to your questions.
Recite: Summarize the information in your own words.
Review: Go over the material again to reinforce learning.
Scientific Basis: SQ3R is based on principles of active reading and metacognition. By engaging with the material in multiple ways, learners can deepen their understanding and retention.
Steps:
Preview Material: Briefly look over the material before diving into a detailed study session.
Set Goals: Define what you want to achieve with your study session.
Contextual Exposure: Expose yourself to related concepts and ideas in everyday life.
Scientific Basis: Priming relies on the brain's ability to make connections between related pieces of information. It can enhance learning and recall by creating a mental framework that makes new information easier to integrate.
Steps:
Plan: Before starting, plan your approach to the study session.
Monitor: Keep track of your understanding and progress during study.
Evaluate: After the session, assess what you've learned and how well you understood it.
Scientific Basis: Metacognition involves thinking about one's own thinking processes. It encourages self-regulation and reflective practices, which research shows can significantly enhance learning outcomes by promoting deeper understanding and strategic use of cognitive resources.
I have STs coming up( 17th Feb) , which are basically the tests but have high importance and if I did my best for them , then end terms will be in my favour obviously. So rules are all uncomfortable, all difficult but uncomfortable = success chances are high . Secondly believe in yourself.
Try to:
Day- 02 ☕
Today was a day where I could do more , I could be getting the results I wanted but i didn't because the universe was testing me with a lot of troubles, distractions etc. But still I'm grateful because I have done something and I learned and i survived it 🪐🌸
🌷Physical:
Did yoga and breathwork together and I'm being consistent in it . ❤️
Did 16 pushups - a win for me .
💌Mental:
Found telegram channels teaching business and making money.
Started joe dispenza - Lewis howes podcast half way through it.
Learned new lessons.
Did journaling and intentions for the day .
🕯️Fallouts:
I did scrolling and it was bad because I felt bad after that .
Goal 01 : control anonymously scrolling through every platform available with focus, timer etc.
I wasted time and i don't even know where and i admit it .
Goal 02: Everyday, Do a feedback loop or reflection at the end of the day about the time spent .
Compared, I felt jealous and envious of others = human behaviour
Goal 03: Feel gratitude everyday for 5 mins with good music and do start manifest journal.
🌛Lessons learned today:
A person who is disciplined is the one who is free, others are just slaves to their emotions, feelings and instant pleasures.
You can always start again and again until you get better.
Tomorrow will be better and I'm here for it.

1. Organize your study space
Organizing your study space is really important. Avoid starting to study before that because getting up to get things you don’t have at hand will distract you. I have my own “desk organization list”. Laptop, iPad, Apple Pencil, earphones, water, fruits, my pencil case, my folders, paper, etc.
2. Make a plan and get control of your calendar
Make a to do list and plan everything out. When exactly are your exams? How many days do you want to study for each subject? Which subject needs more time? Etc., etc.
3. Mistakes are good
When studying we do make mistakes sometimes. I hate it. You hate it. Yes, it’s awful. But they are GOOD. You learn from them. A short anecdote of my life: If I didn’t make the mistake of dating a complete idiot, I probably would not have learned that bad boys really aren’t that great haha.
4. Find examples
To really understand something, you should find examples. E. g. if you are learning about some kind of criminal law, look up cases. If you are studying about the business cycle, look up examples of different countries. Is the US in a boom? Or a depression? Has it been in a depression before? What was that like?
5. Test yourself
Quizz yourself. This is the most important thing when studying something by heart or learning a language. Get your flashcards out of your pocket! And quizz yourself every single day!
6. Take regular breaks and sleep for 8 hours
I know, studying is important. But what is even more important is your health. Don’t drain yourself. You got this. Don’t worry! Take a short break after 25 minutes every time. Just a short one. Allow yourself to breath and close your eyes. Your brain needs sleep and breaks to function!
7. Study before going to sleep
A numerous amount of studies have found out that the brain processes a lot of things while sleeping. This can be very beneficial to us! Study for a few minutes before going to bed or revise what you have studied that day. It will help you remember it better.
8. Eat good foods
I know you don’t want to hear this… A pizza is quite nice. But is it good for you? Probably not. Food is fuel. But we need good fuel to function properly. Eat nutritious foods and be good to your body. It really needs a healthy diet to maintain your health and stay happy. Also: Your brain needs calories. Don’t starve yourself. Aaaand, remember to drink enough water. I recommend watching “The Game Changers” on Netflix.
9. Exercise
Working out can be extremely beneficial to you. Not just for your physical strength but also for your mental health and productivity, studies have found. Going for a run or going to the gym can increase your overall well-being! So let’s go! I’m getting ripped tonight, RIP that… umm sorry.
10. Be kind to yourself
Last but not least, please be kind to yourself. Don’t beat yourself up. Everything is going to be fine. You are not alone. You are loved. You are worthy. Please remember that! I love you.
IIf you are struggling right now, please join our self help group on Discord. We’re doing self help “group therapy” calls. We’re stronger together. I’m also working on a website to help students with studying and mental health issues.
Love, Sophia

Hello everyone, I have gone offline for past few days... I have had family business to sort out. Honestly it was difficult, but most of it went well! A lot of long lasting family issues got resolved in the past few days, and it was a breath of fresh air! That being said - I have received news regarding my housing and financial situation that are... less than pleasant to hear. Fortunately, they won't impact me or my studies right now, but I have to plan for the future. So focusing on that is my objective as of right now. The next three months of my life are going to be extremely difficult, and I will have to correspond with people who... were horrible to me both in the past and right now, but I can manage. That means I will be extremely busy... That's why I've decided to rest for this weekend! So yeah. Thank you to anyone who decides to read this! Take care-
Today marks the end of a series of academic obligations I had for this week (a lot of them), and gave me a brief pause before the next wave of both personal and academic obligations begin... So I took a "day off" after I was done with today's lectures 😌
Defended my project (got max points babeyyy! 😎)
Attended the lectures
Played Honkai Star Rail
Prepped for the trip to my hometown tomorrow
Already !? Time sure does fly fast!
Today I have finished the project!!! And tomorrow I am defending it (why do I have to defend her… Why are you attacking her 😭) I am also back home… I have been to my friends house admittedly for FAR TOO LONG… Here is her eldery cat keeping me company! I love her tons and I already miss her 🥺... Tomorrow is going to be hell of a day, the day after tomorrow too… When do I get to rest?! Aaaaaaaaaaaa! 😆
Today was a hard day, but I went to an interesting lecture, and I was super happy about it! The other test didn't go so well, and I have started doing my project... which BTW the due is tomorrow at 12AM... I hope to finish it by then! Overall this week is hellish for me and honestly I can't wait to just lay down a bit 😅
Soooo I have a test tomorrow, my project is due soon, and my head hurts and overall I don't feel that well… That being said, I have made a Notion dashboard! I was inspired by work by a looot of people here, so I wanted to give a try too!
And I have to be honest… It's waaay more practical than i initially thought! I am genuinely excited to use it as a hub for anything that interests me, and I can see myself using this for a loong time! Here is how it turned out:
I was heavily inspired by this tutorial, so if you wanna create something similar, here u go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrhFvIsq86g
I still have to make the dashboard for my uni specifically, but I gotta take it one step at the time! Also I GOTTA STUDY FOR MY TEST, which I did 😅
P. S. My board is in Serbian, if you were wondering what language that is 😆
Today I had the test and it went well... But other than that, I didn't manage to do much more. I installed the program for my next project tho hehe... I will probably go to bed now, good night 🌙
1/100 days of productivity
I was doing problems and tests for my statistical mechanics test... Which is tomorrow... I am happy with how are things coming along, but we will only know for sure tomorrow after the fact... Not to mention I have even more work! It's hard out here for a gorl... I have also taken a walk today, and played with the cats!
