Crack prompt: Danny has declared war on the curses in Gotham. He is armed with a water balloon gun, but the balloons are full of medical-grade ectoplasm. He targets any location, ghost, or liminal being tainted by curses and/or corrupted ecto - absolutely drenching them before yeeting off again.
This includes the Bats. Danny is smart about it, though. He lived in Gotham for several months before acting, so he could get the lay of the land. He also waits for patrol to be finished before hitting the Bats - he doesn't want to interrupt their Quest to Better Gotham (or be labeled an invader to their haunt).
One night, Danny happens upon Batman patrolling alone and waits for him to finish cleaning up a crime scene before hitting they guy with a half-clip of balloons. Batman gives chase, like he always does, and Danny runs, like he always does. He knows by now that, for whatever reason, Crime Alley is off limits to Batman. The whole alley just gives off "no (other) bats allowed" vibes.
Red hood is just more territorial. Whatever.
At any rate, Danny is enjoying the chase, using just enough ghost powers to stay ahead of batman, almost-but-not-quite taunting him. Crime Alley isn't too far, so instead of turning invisible around a corner like he usually does, he makes his way to the Alley to see if the no-trasspassing rule is enough to stop Batman mid-chase. He leaps across rooftops and weaves through fire escapes, ecto-balloon-gun bouncing by its strap against his back, until finally he's at the border, slightly tapping into flight to make the jump across a slightly wider road into the alley proper.
He turns around immediately, spotting Batman skulking on the rooftop on the other side of the road, stopping the chase and suit half-covered in healing ectoplasm.
"Sanctuary!" Danny yells, pumping his fists in the air from getting caught up in the exciting rush of adrenaline, "I claim sanctuary!"
"Who the fuck is claiming sanctuary in my territory?" Red Hood booms from almost directly behind Danny. He would have yeeted out of his own skin from surprise if he hadn't spent years honing his ghost-fighting instincts. As it was, Danny instead whirled around and emptied the clip of balloons into Hood, purely out of reflex.
Hood stood there, drenched in ecto like his fellow Bat one rooftop over, glaring murder at Danny with glowing eyes. But his haunt betrayed Hood's true emotions.
Surprise, concern, impressed, you-little-brat.
Danny booked it to the fire escape and turned invisible the second he was out of sight.
Some more boiling rock stuff but with no guards this time š
This has been consuming my brain for weeks. Based on this post by @gummybearstastelikesadness:
Danny wakes up in the new world and, not feeling responsible for its villains (unlike the ghost attacks where he is the one who turned on the portal) decides to take a break and have a vacation. As a pizza delivery person, he brings orders to the recipients within the specified timeframe, no matter what. Certain citizens of this world are suspicious when the app lets them order to a town 2 hours away from the location ... and the delivery boy is there in under 10 minutes.
If only Danny cared about their feelings.
Part 1.
Waking up sore and confused in the middle of a random field with only vague memories of last night's events wasn't that weird for Danny Fenton. He had been Amity Park's resident hero for several years and had lived through much stranger awakenings. His list started with Vlad Plasmius's spooky basement inside a cloning tube and his parents' lab strapped to the vivisection table, and ended with places like the middle of nowhere in the Ghost Zone after an ecto-storm or a hundered-year-old abandoned maze of secret tunnels under the Masons' house after a particularly exciting date with Sam. Next to those, an ordinary-looking meadow was a welcome change. Despite that, something felt not quite right, but Danny couldn't quite focus on the feeling in his drowsy state.
Careful inspection of his body revealed that he had all of his limbs attached where they should be attached and functioning as normal. Aside from mild discomfort after lying on the cold ground for a significant amount of time he was perfectly healthy, despite splotches of dried ectoplasm and blood indicating recent injuries.
Deciding that he did not care enough to remember what those splotches were from just yet, Danny shrugged and continued his inspection. He looked around the field, trying to find any clues, tracks, or signs of civilization, and, failing to locate any, he transformed into his ghost form.
The transformation was enough of a jolt to wake him up from his morning sleepiness, forcing Danny to remember the fight with an unfamilliar ghost that appeared just as he finished fixing reindeer antlers to the top of the head of his freshly-made one-foot-tall snowman made from the first snow in the season. He had been so concerned with taking the fight away from his new porch guardian that he hadn't taken it seriously enough. Between exchanging blows and trying to find out the name of the intruder into his neighbourhood, he ended up too distracted to notice that they were not alone and got blasted with a dark-purple beam from behind.
As much as he would have liked to know more, the memory tastefully faded to black and refused to provide any further details.
'Never mind the why's and how's then,' - Danny thought, unconcerned. 'Time to consider the where's and the when's.'
Having thought that, he suddenly realised what had been bothering him from the moment he woke up. He was so busy taking stock of his physical state that he forgot to question the gentle warmth of the ground he had slept on and the decidedly non-December greenery around him.
Wide-eyed, Danny quickly flew up, searching for anything that could point him towards Amity or any other nearby town.
The vegetation did not seem too different from what he was used to, so he concluded that he probably wasn't anywhere Southern enough to be this warm in December. That suggested Clockwork shenanigans, which did not fill Danny with too much confidence.
He turned invisible, picked a random direction, and flew at a leisurely speed fully intending to enjoy the idyllic weather.
A couple of hours later, he finally came across a large enough town where he decided he would not be instantly noticed in the morning crowd. He easily found the local library and got permission to use a computer from the librarian that barely glanced at him in the dimly lit lobby. He made his way towards the two ancient computers ready to learn the local date and hopefully figure out how he ended up in this situation.
Danny wasn't truly surprised when the calendar showed a date a couple months in the past according to his personal timeline. He had spent enough time (ha!) with Clockwork to not be put off by a bit of minor time-travel. What surprised him, however, was his inability to find even a single mention of Amity Park on the internet.
Familiar forums, social media account of his friends, Amity news sources, even his personal blog that he posted blurry pictures of blob ghosts to were missing. Maps, both regular and satellite, showed a familiar but slightly different landscape where his home town should have been with a completely different name written over it.
Danny stared at the monitor with unfocused eyes. If he really had travelled in time, he would have been able to find some trace of Amity, or his friends. Searching for their names gave unhelpful results, and trying to look up ghosts and ghost attacks only led him down the rabbit hole of superheroes and something called 'The Justice League' that just gave him a headache. This led to the natural conclusion that instead of a minor instance of short time-travel he got tangled in a major instance of timeline-hopping.
He shuddered a little, remembering Dan. At least it seemed that Danny didn't exist at all in this timeline, in any shape. That turned out to be a slightly disturbing thought and Danny decided to ignore it with the practiced ease of someone who was used to rolling with the punches for the sake of his mental stability.
He wondered briefly when this world and his started to differ, but his limited knowledge of human history was not enough to give him much of a hint. He figured it was at least a couple hundred years in the past, but that was the extent of his detective abilities.
------------------------
It was a relief to finally exit the stuffy library building and let the rays of sunshine fall on his face after several hours of researching the new world he found himself in. Despite failing to get any closer to the mystery of his appearance there, he didn't feel that upset at the change of scenery.
While walking leisurely along the tidy street, Danny contemplated the heroes and villains of this timeline. It seemed that the Justice League was the top dog when it came to the forces of good. He wasn't sure how to approach them without raising suspicion that a person suddenly coming into existence would certainly cause.
Suddenly, he was struck by a thought so alien to him that he stopped in his tracks and stared blankly ahead.
He didn't have to do anything!
There were no ghost attacks in the news, and thus probably no portal to the Ghost Zone. He hadn't opened a doorway between the Infinite Realms and Earth, and there was nobody who needed help that couldn't be given by any of the local heroes.
Danny realised that didn't feel any pressing need to protect this world. That little part of his core that was always anxious about Amity, about Sam and Tucker, and about the rest of the world was now blissfully quiet. Danny smiled at that, shaking his head and continuing his walk towards what seemed to be a small river.
He also began to notice the stares people around were directing at him and tried to get lost in the crowd - with little luck. It almost seemed that having drawn the attention of the locals, he was standing out as an obvious outsider.
He was starting to get annoyed at the constant attention, when he noticed his ragged sleeve and recalled that he was in fact still covered in suspiciously blood-looking greenish blots. He considered the fact that it was actually blood from his already-healed small scratches was irrelevant.Ā
Cursing quietly, Danny quickly turned into a shady-looking alleyway and made his escape from the public eye by going invisible.
He decided to continue on his course towards the riverside in this way, while mulling over the earlier revelation. The more he thought about it, the more he became convinced that it was a great idea to take a break and get some rest from ghostly affairs. And if he really wanted to go back, he could always find a way to open a portal into the Ghost Zone and find Clockwork. His sort-of mentor, sort-of father figure wouldn't mind helping him with a little nudge towards the right timeline, would he? Besides, the guy probably knew all about Danny's little jaunt across realities. Since there was no sign of him or his cryptic advice, it was entirely reasonable that he approved of the whole thing.
So it was decided: Danny Fenton was going on vacation.
He flipped in the air in excitement and started flying away from the town. Giggling a little at the fact that he still didn't know the name of the first town he visited in this timeline, he froze in place as something occured to him: He had no money, no possessions and didn't know where to go.
Despite not technically needing food or shelter as a ghost, he didn't want to spend his vacation hiding away under his invisibility. And what sort of vacation would it be if he had no money to spend on fun things like videogames and hot dogs?
He figured the solution was simple: He'll just have to find a job.
sally jackson. reblog if you agree.
Professor Fenton of Gotham University.
Cutest Dani with Papa Professor/Teacher Danny, who is teaching history at Gotham University. (As he can just meet historical people in the ghost zone.) +
After the years did go by, Danny was able to do better with his enemies; he was a teacher! Ghost Writer and Clockworks fault + small but of Mr. Lancer, and in the Zone he was able to meet historical figures pretty easily. + That was how Danny became the youngest professor in the US with his master's thesis in history.
And then he became a professor in Gotham; his students weren't sure how to feel about a teacher their age or younger. But ironically, he was the best teacher they ever had at the university! So people had no problem.
And Danny showing off his baby girl, Dani, is fun for him too! Hey, the job makes sure his daughter Dani can go to the university for free in the future. And his students really like Dani! + Adult Danny and Ellie Look i had before me. (Manhwa:" male lead's little lion daughter)
And Cassandra Cain was a pretty good person who spent time with Dani. When she visits the University for Tim, she found Dani.. And kind of forgot she wanted to visit Tim. + Wayne Manor Tim:" I fear my professor will become my brother-in-law." +Extra+ Archaeologists:" I dreamed and worked my whole life to find a book handwritten by Shakespeare!" Professor! Danny: " I have like 3 of them and gave 1 to my teacher for an A+ in history and English for the rest of the year. Man, Mr. Lancer did cry for like 2 weeks after that."
+ And to the Archaeologist's horror, it's really an original one. They found Mr. Lancer of Amity Park, who proudly showed them the book. So many historians and Archaeologist don't leave Danny alone; they know he has a lot of things like that but no idea where he hides them!
Bruce's PR team doing their best to mitigate gay rumours after Bruce was spotted kissing a 'mysterious man' at a gala (it was Clark.)
Only for Bruce to retweet a Superman thirst trap the next day, adding 'I'd suck his dick so hard he'd forget where Metropolis even was.'
The public and press quickly forget about the mystery man and instead jump whole heartedly onto the 'Bruce Wayne wants to suck Superman's dick' train.
Bruce's PR team are weeping into their morning coffees the next day whilst Bruce just grins because the gay thing wasn't what bothered him about the situation, it was that Clark's privacy was at risk and as far as he's concerned, the issue is now solved.
Sure, Superman now has to deal with random civilians asking him if he's seen the tweet, but, you win some you lose some.
Hello I'm finally back sorry to bother you I have no idea it's horror
All protective or city spirits have secondary forms they use to seem more scary and terrifying to protect their haunts or people
Danny's form has like two faces one that looks like his normal human face with blue eyes but little dots are green in it and the secondary part of his face looks like it's covered in green scales as his white hair look like it's wet but it's also covered in like snow he's on his back and has like six arms that help him crawl around and has clothing that's made out of stars
When you first meet him he looks like his normal Phantom form just a tiny bit threatening and docile but if you considers you to be a threat he will turn into the other form I just described
Anywho the Au is a ghost like Ember or GhostWriter end up getting found by the Justice League who considers this to be a way to actually see if ghosts are actually a threat that need to be taken out.
And they end up taking them to Amity Park where the Giw has gotten so bad that Danny has had to take extreme measures to his protect people
Ember or GhostWriter that are introducing them to Danny I like oh yeah you have to wait to make sure Phantom evaluates or not if you're like a threat to the town he's going to look a little scary though why he does it
JL: A Threat To The Town also how scary can one ghost can be
Zatanna ,Constantine , and Dr.Fate in the background knowing being well how scary they can be cuz they fZatannaall accidentally before pissed off a city ghost is to evaluate or not if they were a threat
The entire Justice League is met by Danny's other scarier form cuz they haven't been answering the city's calls and because of that he had no idea or not if they were Friend or foe
Also I headcannon that Danny doesn't like Dr Fate because of the body possessing thing and pretends to rip him out of Disney and his father's body in front of everybody and then let them into the city just imagining Dr.Fate getting the daylight beat out of him and Zatanna's Dad just doesn't have a scratch on him
There's also lots of other beings inside of like Amity Park that are considered to be liminal or neverborns that are staying there for their own protection like Klarion it's like an entire camp half blood situation or like liminals and young never borns are just all in everybody Park chilling
I'm happy to see that you're writing again don't mean that meanly
įā (ā ļ¼ ā °ā ā½ā °ā ļ¼ ā )ā į
Thanks! I'm glad to be getting back into writing. I kinda hit a writer's block pretty hard so I'll probably be writing less than usual really.
I do like your idea tho. City spirits having multiple faces as they need them to protect what/who is most precious to them is an excellent idea and definitely something that would be interesting to cover. I might do something about it later but right now I can't think of anything specific.
I do love the backwards spider crawl idea just to spook people on purpose. XD That seems like fun. But Danny trying to scare trouble makers away before fighting them makes me imagine the townspeople also trying to scare the crap out of Outsiders either for funzies or wariness after the GIW issue they had. Just everyone deciding "Fuck it, we're Halloween Town now."
āBut if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.ā
Sorry not really deleted more like I don't know how to log back in after accidentally deleting my Tumblr
Meet my encanto au basically you know the tainted AU well this has a little bit of themes of it so here's the idea a 10 years old after realizing that that tia is going to have another child Mirabel runs away and meets a boy who has an idea to get out of the encanto so the idea was to leave the entire together but here's like the plot point of it Mirabelle can't get out of the encanto because she has Madrigal blood so instead of being able to get out of the barrier she was scarred in the face by it and found by a a woman who owns a bar on the outskirts of the encanto not on the outside kind of on the inside but kind of not she was raised there by the woman for 5 years and kind of became like you know Tia Peppa with the no talking about Bruno rule she kind of has a note talking about the Madrigal family and the Casita basically needs her to fix the magic and it's basically just me about being petty about it and the magical family trying to get her to forgive them I know it kind of sounds bad but this is the first time I've ever actually making au and writing about it I'll try updating if you're interested
So figured I could show what else I am working on aside from Salt in the Bones with @clockwayswrites. I still blame Clock for this though, they are way too fun to brainstorm with, and I have too many WIPs already. Ship: Dead on Main (Danny/Jason) Warnings: angst/depression and canon typical violence
Danny was sick and tired of this city, this entire dimension in fact. And this vigilante family, or whatever they were, were more dogged in their pursuit of him than the GIW or his parents had ever been - all this for a few gizmos.
Danny rolled his eyes and ducked a kick from the most violent midget since Youngblood.
Seriously he was just trying to build a portal home, and it wasnāt like he was hurting anyone. Heād mostly stolen from villains anyway! And Wayne industries was like a multibillion dollar company, they shouldnāt miss a few scraps or prototypes. It would hardly put a dent in their budget.
Midget was back on his feet and had now drawn a freaking sword. Yeah, this was it, Danny needed to leave before bigger and battier arrived. He faked left but then spun right around the probably actual literal kid with the real sword, jumped to the railing and kicked off towards the next rooftop. Ignoring gravityās pull for a just a couple of seconds was the only reason he landed safely on the other roof.
He felt a moment of worry that the kid would try following him and glanced back, but the child was fuming in safety on the other side, having lost that grappling gun thing he used earlier in the chase, it seemed Danny was safe for now. The kids mouth was moving, probably talking to more of the heroes.
He wasnāt gonna be safe for long, but Danny allowed himself a moment to breathe in relief. Suddenly his breath stuck coldly in his throat and he froze. Impossible! The shades of this city barely tickled his throat, he hadnāt met anything that would even halfway classify as a ghost to his senses. Urgency was like a cold hand around his throat, a desperate longing hummed in his core as he slowly spun trying to get a sense of where - he only managed to see a blur of red before a heavy weight knocked into him slamming him to the ground. The cold mist in his throat was pushed out in a pained oof, and his head bounced first on one thing then another, but that didnāt matter because his core was singing; close, not alone, hug!
Dannyās head spun, his whole body felt pained and smushed. A man, no a freaking tank, was laying on top of him. Body armor dug into his ribs, probably something there was bent or broken and he felt certain that ominous red helmet had left a mark where it hit his forehead. Also his hair felt a bit wet beneath him. Yet that didnāt matter because he was so overwhelmed, warm with hands and feet tingling from the humming joy in his chest. Hug! His core sang again.
Somewhere in the fog in his head he recognized this was no hug, but he hurt, his head was spinning, and he was not alone and he was happy and wasnāt that more important than a bit of pain? Oo o oO
Jason was unsure what was going on.
Heād managed to tackle the elusive thief Dick had so ācreativelyā nicknamed the Ghost for his ability to go invisible and the inability for them to land a decent hit on him. In fact if he hadnāt seen footage from previous run-ins with the man, Jason would have thought they wildly exaggerated his skills.
After all the man had frozen up strangely when Jason pulled himself onto the rooftop as he listened only with half an ear to the demon brat angrily grumbling in the comms, that he would have had him had he not been a coward who ran away all the time. Their thief was slowly turning around as if looking for something, the green glass of his goggles reflected in the moonlight and for a moment gave the illusion they were glowing.
Jason had not wasted a moment, got to his feet, crossed the distance in a mere three large steps before he crashed into the man - so, heād halfway expected the man to move and therefore hadnāt prepared to soften another personās landing. His helmet hit the shorter manās forehead and his head rebounded and hit the roof with a sound that made Jason internally wince. The next moment there was a snapping sound and a gasp as the manās ribcage was caught between the roof and Jason - he really wore no armor, just that thin hoodie. No matter what B said about the danger of the stolen items, Jason was really starting to doubt they had a budding super villain on hand.
He immediately made a move to get up, but stopped, a strange feeling of something overtaking him. It took a moment for him to discern because of the dichotomy, but it was⦠happiness? What the fuck, it wasnāt his emotions, that made no sense. The pits had only ever sent him rage and in rare moments gruesome satisfaction. This was joy, he felt almost like he was floating caught in a wave at the beach, weightless, happy, warm in the sun. He shook his head pushing the foreign emotions away like he would the pit and focused on his dazed perp.
There was something wet glistening in his unruly black hair.
āFuck,ā Jason muttered, thankfully too low for the helmet to project, but loud enough that he got a breathless but insistent āreportā back from Bruce where he was clearly hurrying toward their destination.
āI knocked the Ghost down, heās bleeding from a head wound,ā he muttered at his comms as he pulled the goggles up to get a look his eyes to check for signs of concussion, but immediately froze. The goggles, heād thought it was a trick of the light earlier, but no, his eyes were glowing - bright and green and just a shade lighter than the Lazarus pits. A shudder ran cold down his back. Somehow the foreign emotions were coming from him, Jason was sure of it, but it explained absolutely nothing! Unrestrained joy? Was this some kind of shock response?
More footsteps landed on the roof and Jason didnāt need to look to know it was Bruce with the Brat along for the ride. He finally remembered heād been trying to get off the other man at some point.
Oo o oO
No, no, no, Dannyās core protested when the other ghost moved away, and he clutched onto what he could grab, which he dazedly recognized as a very nicely muscled arm. The other arm, because human shaped ghosts have two arms (good job Danny), supported Danny by holding onto one of his arms and that was good. Getting upright gave him the worst moment of vertigo, and his breath whooshed out of him. His legs were like jello and didnāt support him, but that didnāt matter, because his new friend had a good firm grip, could probably even hold him up entirely without Danny clutching his arm, good friend, mine. He butted his head into his chest because that was what he could reach and just leaned there. His core hummed so happily he felt like heād almost shake apart.
Friend.
Mine
Good friend
ā¦
Why no response?ā¦
Hello? Danny was confused, why wasnāt he getting a response. Also why did his head and chest hurt so bad?
āTt, what is the matter with him?ā
The question, delivered in a haughty voice was like a bucket of ice water on his senses. He gasped and pushed away from where heād been nuzzling some guyās chest! Alarmed, he stumbled, but dodged the hands reaching for him, to support him, to catch him, he wasnāt sure. There was the big bat and the midget and the tank in the red helmet; the guy who felt like a ghost and he just wanted nothing more than to go back to him, and- Danny shuddered taking another step back, his face was hot and flaming red right now. This was, this was- he couldnāt-
Hiding his powers be damned; he sunk through the roof.
So embarrassing! He closed his eyes fighting tears as he sank down down down, all the way into the ground where they for sure couldnāt follow him. All the while his insides screamed, because he didnāt want to be lonely anymore. Fuck, he just wanted to go home.
He was so sick and tired of this city.
So... yeah hope you enjoyed this, now I can reveal why I blame Clock, they said and I quote "Danny, like a cat with catnip suddenly" and now Danny is a cat, what can you do ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ Jason's gonna have to lure this feral ghost in slowly with food and hugs.
