Betrothed In Alfea Pt 2

Sky and y/n lay calmly on their beds of their new dorm. Sky's arm was wrapped around y/n's waist, his hand laying on her swollen stomach. The two lay in silence, enjoying each others company before y/n gasps, smiling when she feels the baby kick. Feeling it too, Sky looks down at y/n in awe before kissing her forehead causing y/n to sigh in content.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the feeling of them moving around in there.” Sky stated as y/n leans her head on his shoulder. “Hmm, won’t be long until there kicking around in our arms or on the changing table when we try change them.” Y/n stated, rubbing her stomach affectionately. “And I can’t wait for that.” Sky stated with a smile. “Yes well, your not the one who has to push the little one out when the time comes.” Y/n stated, eyes widening slightly. “True, but they say you forget all about it when you see their face for the first time.” Sky tried to comfort her. “God I hope that’s true.” Y/n sighed before the two laughed slightly. “Oh, I shouldn’t of done that, now I need the bathroom again.” Y/n groaned, feeling the babies pressure on her bladder after laughing. Sky laughed and helped his fiancé up off the bed as they heard a knock on the door. “Be a dear and get that for me.” Y/n joked as she waved her hand, waddling in the direction of the bathroom. “Yes my queen.” Sky shouted back jokingly before moving to the door.

The smile on Sky's face dropped when he opened the door and seen who it was. In front of the door stood Stella, shuffling her feet in awkwardness. She looked up and met Sky's disappointed gaze, causing her to grimace slightly. Y/n and Stella used to be real close friends, often known as each others best friends, but over summer Stella pushed y/n away like she was some gone off food. Sky still remembers the day that y/n called him crying about how Stella had just told her they weren't friends anymore without a reason and him going and staying with her. He also knows that if y/n sees Stella and talks to her, she would most likely forgive her. Y/n was the girl everyone knew could never stay angry with someone.

“Is y/n there?” Stella asked hopeful to see her ex friend. “Yeah, but your not talking to her.” Sky stated protectively, not as forgiven as y/n was. “Sky, please, I know I did wrong but I really need to see her.” Stella begged. “Sky who is it?” Y/n shouted to him as she finished in the bathroom. “It’s just me y/n.” Stella shouted out, seeing how Sky was debating with himself on what to say. “Stella?” Y/n asked in confusion as she headed in the direction of the door, standing beside Sky who kept his gaze on Stella with a glare “What are you doing here? I thought you weren’t coming back this year?” “I had to come back, my mom was overbearing, wanting me to be too perfect. My dorm is full of first years, can I bunk with you for the night.” “No.” Sky stated abruptly. “Sky.” Y/n warned, causing Sky to look down at her. “What, y/n, she walked all over you, abandoned you over the summer, she can’t possibly think that you are going to let her back in after that. I won’t let you. You don’t need that right now.” “Sky I appreciate what your doing but, I got this okay. Go back inside, I’ll be there in a minute.” Y/n stated, grabbing Sky’s hand and squeezing it slightly. Sky sighs and nods before heading back into the room out of sight from the girls. “Y/n please, I know what I did was bad but you have to believe me it was for your own good, I couldn’t have what happened happen again, especially you. I would never forgive myself if I did. Please y/n, I can’t go back there.” Stella stated, taking both y/n’s hands in hers while looking her in the eyes. “Alright, but just this once, we don’t exactly have the room for people staying over. You can sleep in the babies nursery, there’s a recliner in there.” Y/n sighed, hoping she wouldn’t regret it.

Stepping to the side, y/n allowed Stella to walk into her and Skys shared dorm. Sky looked up as he heard footsteps coming towards her and went to protest upon seeing Stella walking behind his girlfriend only to stop when y/n placed her hand up. Saying nothing, he gets off the bed and follows the girls as they walk towards the nursery.

The room that became the nursery wasn't big, but it was enough for what the baby would need for their first year. The cot lay in the middle of the room while a changing table with a set of drawers beneath it was on the left, a recliner opposite it for then they fed the baby. Stella looked around, catching sight of the ultrasounds that hung on the walls.

“He or she?” She asked, looking at y/n as she grabbed a pillow and blanket from the basket beside the recliner. “Waiting till there born.” Sky stated, leaning against the door frame as he moved to check on y/n. “The nursery looks great.” Stella stated, trying to keep the conversation going. “Thanks,” Y/n smiled, giving Stella the blanket and pillow “It’s late, get some sleep. See you in the morning.” Y/n stated before moving towards Sky who wrapped an arm around her waist. “Thanks again.” Stella stated and Sky nodded at her before closing the door behind them.

Y/n and Sky got ready for the night, y/n putting on one of Skys t-shirts as it was one of the few things she was comfortable in, before crawling into their own bed. Sky sighs in content and places and arm behind y/n's shoulders as she leans back, and leans down to kiss her stomach causing her to smile. Y/n placed her head on his chest before closing her eyes, both falling asleep, unaware of the events that would shortly happen.

--------------------------------------------------------

In the middle of the night, y/n awoke with a gasp, feeling abrupt movement from the baby. Trying to ease the babies movement, she placed her hand on her stomach only to feel something wet trickling down her legs. Pulling back the covers, she frowns upon seeing the wet patch. As another kick is felt she hits Sky abruptly, nearly hitting him in the face as he woke with a start. Rubbing his eyes Sky moved to turn on the lamp before turning his attention to y/n, frowning when he seen her winch in pain.

“What’s wrong, what’s happening?” Sky asked, worried for y/n and the baby. “I dunno, they won’t stop moving and I just wet the bed.” Y/n spoke through a deep breath and Sky frowned and looked down to see the wet patch. “What’s going on?” Stella asked, having heard the commotion and went to see what was happening. “I dunno, y/n’s feeling intense pains.” Sky stated, not looking Stellas way as she grabbed y/ns hand, pushing hair back from her face. “Y/n how far along are you?” Stella asked. “eight months.” Y/n spoke, finally feeling some ease before looking at Stella with wide eyes. “What, what is it?” Sky asked before y/n felt another intense blow to the stomach. “I don’t think I wet the bed, I think my waters just broke.” Y/n stated, breathing through the pain. “Your in labor, but your only eight months.” Sky spoke in confusion. “Babies come early Sky.” Y/n shouted at him in anger as the wave of pain intensifies. “Okay okay sorry, sorry. Stella go get Dowling, y/n lay down and try to get comfy alright, your okay. You can do this alright.” Sky ordered Stella before turning to y/n as he moved off the bed to help y/n to get comfy. “I didn’t expect this to happen now.” Y/n stated as the pain subsided. “I know I didn’t either but we’re going to be parents, our little one will be here soon.” Sky comforted her, smiling as he kissed her head gently. “Yeah, we’re going to be parents.” Y/n smiled before Stella and Dowling walked in with Silva coming in behind.

“Y/n, you’re sure you’re in labor.” Dowling asked for clarity as she moved towards the young fairy. “Yes I’m sure.” Y/n shouted as another wave of pain came. “They’ve never been like this before.” Sky finished for her as Silva placed a hand on his shoulder. “Alright Sky, let Dowling in to check over her, come with me to get Harvey.” Silva stated to his unbiological son. “I don’t want to leave her.” Sky stated. “Dowling needs to check over her, you’ll be back quickly.” Silva stated, helping Sky move away from Y/n before ushering him out of the room. “Alright y/n you won’t feel anything, I’m just going to check over baby alright.” Dowling stated, nodding at the young fairy. “Yeah.” Y/n nodded, placing her head back in exhaustion.

Dowling hovered her hands over y/n's swollen stomach as y/n moved in discomfort. Her hands glowed as she closed her eyes, concentrating on the baby, trying to figure out what way the baby was lying and how far along y/n was. She smiled before coming back to reality, just as Sky and Silva came back with Harvey. Sky moved straight back t oy/ns side, taking her hand as she cried in pain as the contractions became closer together. Silva ushered Stella out of the dorm before leaving himself, staying close incase he was needed.

“What’s the status Farah.” Harvey asked, placing a bag on the bed beside y/n and moving beside Dowling. “Baby in position, y/n needs to get ready to push.” Dowling stated causing y/n to look at Sky with fear. “It’s going to be okay y/n, your doing amazing, nearly there.” Sky smiled before y/n screamed again. “Alright y/n, next contraction start pushing.” Farah stated as Harvey moved other side of y/n and Dowling moved to bottom to deliver baby.

----------------------------------------------------

Y/n screamed out as she made her final push before crying, hearing the sounds of her baby crying. Sky smiled with tears in his eyes, moving to push back hair from y/ns face before kissing her cheek.

"Congratulations, you have a healthy baby boy." Dowling smiled, passing him to Harvey to be cleaned up before cleaning y/n up. "You did it y/n, we have a baby boy." Sky smiled, happy tears falling. "A baby boy." Y/n stated weakly, tired from all the pushing. "Here he is." Harvey stated, handing the baby to his mother who cried as she hushed his crying. "Hey baby, I'm your mamma, I love you so much, my sweet baby boy." Y/n cried, caressing the babies cheek as he cooed in content. "He's perfect." Sky whispered, taking his sons small hand, chuckling as the baby boy wrapped his hand around his thumb. "Looks just like you." Y/n stated, looking at Sky, offering up their son to him. "The future prince of Eraklyon." Sky stated, carefully taking his son, not moving his vision from him. "He's our little prince." Y/n agreed, smiling as she watched Sky bond with his son.

The two teachers watched fondly as their students bonded with their first child, knowing that there world would be in safe hands.

Scared And Alone (2/12)

Y/n looked around the halls as she made her way to Sky and Rivens dorm. Seeing a picture she stopped, recognizing it as her mother on her graduation day, beside the picture her fathers graduation picture. Looking at them with a sad smile she swallowed thickly as tears came to her eyes.

"Y/n?" She turned to see Silva standing at the top of the stairs close by. "Headmaster Silva." Y/n nodded, rubbing her eyes slightly. "You ok? What are you doing out this late?" He asked as he walked towards her. "I umm, was going to Sky and Rivens room." She said truthfully as she looked down. "I'm going to ignore what you said with all that's going on." Silva stated, pointing at y/n as she glanced up and gave him a soft smile. "How are you feeling anyway?" "Umm, I'm not sure how you expect me to answer that." Y/n shrugged as a tear fell from her eye. "Things will get better y/n, just takes time." "Doesn't seem like it." She said, looking down again. "I know." Silva sighed, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'm going to go see the boys before late." Y/n sighed before leaving Silva standing in the hall alone.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n turned the bend near the library to see Riven talking to some girl. Watching them, she seen him take a smoke from a cigarette before the girl came closer to him, inhaling the smoke from his mouth. Y/n looked down and sighed before leaving in the opposite direction, making sure not to be seen.
Walking towards the boys room she stood there for a minute before putting her hand to the door. Knocking twice she stood and waited. Not hearing anything, she sighed and knocked again as she opened the door.
Looking ahead her mouth opened in shock at what she seen. Sky was wrapped in Stella's arms, both asleep. She sighed and looked down as tears came to her eyes, thinking both had forgotten.
Wiping her eyes to avoid the tears coming out, she turned only to bump into someone. Looking up she smiled softly as she seen it was riven. He looked down at her in confusion.
"Y/n?" He asked, looking around before sighing seeing Sky in bed with Stella. "What are you doing here? It's late." "Y/n? What's going on?" Y/n and Riven turned their attention to Skys bed as he woke up. "I'm not even going to comment on that situation." Riven stated, pointing at Stella. "Shut up Riven. Y/n what's wrong? I thought you were coming after dinner." Sky asked, grabbing a t-shirt as he went to get up. "I got held up, doing things." Y/n stated with hesitation. "Okay well, what did you want to talk to us about? He asked, sitting up fully. "Oh, umm, it's okay. Clearly you both are busy. I better get back to my room before Silva sees me here. See you tomorrow." Y/n stated, deciding against telling them. "It sounded important." Sky said with a frown as y/n looked down, willing the tears that were building to not fall. "Yeah, just missing home." She replied with a half lie causing Riven to pull her into a hug. "Itll be okay. It's just first day." Riven said in a soft voice as he kissed her forehead. "Yeah your right, its nothing. I'll see you tomorrow." Y/n smiled, heading out to door. "Want me to walk you back to your dorm?" Riven asked. "No it's okay. Night guys." "Night y/n" The boys smiled and waved as she left, not knowing she was swallowing down tears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Y/n closed the dorm door slowly, avoiding it slamming before heading to her room. Getting ready for bed her eyes caught a glimpse of a picture of her parents. The two were smiling at the camera while her mom held a toddler y/n. Tears filled y/ns eyes and she flipped the photo facing down before falling onto her bed, allowing the tears to fall.

She tried to stay silent as she let down the tears she had been holding in all day. She cried for the loss of her parents, the lack of support she felt from her friends (partially her fault), the feeling of being alone and the fear of the frozen ones coming for her.

Wishing to have someone, especially her best friends, with her, she heard her phone ping, causing her to look at her phone, hoping for a message from Riven or Sky only to see it being the weather. Thunder and hail, much like her feelings, a never ending storm.

In Which The Inevitable Becomes Reality Pt 1/3

25 year old y/n Reagan was the youngest of Commissioner Frank Reagans kids. Being the youngest her family cared for her deeply. Her life was slightly different than those of her family, being a high school teacher was something she always wanted to do. The family line of cops and army life never appealed to her, so like her sister she steered clear of that workforce. She remembered her beloved deceased brother Joe letting her hold his unloaded gun, and she hated the feel of it. She didn't like the thought of having t put a bullet into someone, even when it was to protect someone else. Y/n thought PE and Biology as well as coached the girls baseball team (one she fought for when she first joined the school) every Wednesday afterschool.

She was closest with her gramps, they often played chess together and many a night Frank would come home from work and see his father and daughter sitting in the living room watching friends ( though if anyone asked Henry would strongly deny it). Her pops often joined her for the coaching sessions before heading back to his where he would cook dinner before she left back to hers.

She was the younger sister that Linda always wished for, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see y/n helping her sister in law around the house or cooking, and Linda always made sure to make time to help y/n get her class room ready for the school year.

Y/n was quiet compared to her older siblings, and because of that Danny had always been overprotective of her. He didn't like her being around cases the family worked on, and often kept her away from the conversations if she could, making dinner conversations of cases short when she was present. Many a time he would meet her for coffee during the week, or bring her some lunch when he had a case that reminded him of her. He made sure that y/n would always text when she was home if she was out late or if a criminal was on the lose.

Jamie had made it a habit to sit down and have drinks with her after a tough day. Despite being there to help her brother, y/n was never told of his day and what lead to him becoming so stressed, which frustrated her but she accepted it none the less.

Being the only two girls of a family of boys, Erin and y/n often spent Sundays doing something together before church and family dinner. Their schedule prevented them from spending much time together so when they could, they would leave for a week, Nikki joining them, and head somewhere they hadn't been before to explore.

Her family always looked after her, and father was no exception. Frank always made sure to check up on her, regardless on what went on that day. He knew the school shootings happening in America effected her, and wanted to make sure that she knew she was safe and nothing would happen to her. He even went so far to make sure that the Reagan family saying 'please don't hurt my family' was drilled in her head. She was well protected and always had someone watching her back.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Reagan family at at the dinner table at Henry and Franks for their weekly Sunday family dinner after church. Y/n sat beside her dad and Erin, picking at her food as she half listened to her family talking about the recent increase of school shootings around the town. Too focused in her own thoughts, she jumped when she was elbowed before glaring at Erin in annoyance.

"Oww, what?" Y/n snapped at her sister before whipping her head to face her dad as he raised a finger in warning.

"Gramps was asking what's wrong with you, your not eating much." Erin stated, tilting her head to the side slightly.

"Sorry Gramps, just thoughts spiraling around my head. Classes have been busy with assessments and we had a practice session today." Y/n explained, watching as her family turned their attention to her, Danny eyeing her with slight concern.

"Teachers have a busy schedule? I always thought they just gave us work and went home to rest." Sean stated causing y/n to laugh slightly.

"Well if you consider grading papers, correcting homework, teaching kids new material, planning classes and making sure that you are all ready for the real world easy, than yeah it's a job for lots of rest." Y/n explained causing Jack to laugh at his brother playfully.

"But compared to dads job it's easy right?" Sean asked, looking towards his aunt.

"Every job is difficult in it's own way Sean, no one has an easier job than anyone else. It may seem like it to you but I'm sure dealing with kids on the daily ain't easy. I mean I only have you and Jack and sometimes I struggle with it." Linda explained to her son.

"So you don't just rest?" Sean asked, second guessing everything he thought.

"God I wish." Y/n stated, stabbing her meat and taking a bite as everyone laughed at her reaction.

"As opposed to your very busy schedule. Everything will work out in the end y/n, your a great teacher and those kids are lucky to have you as their mentor through life." Frank stated, putting a hand on his youngest daughters shoulder as she chuckled lightly.

"Mentor through life, way to be dramatic dad." y/n laughed, taking her glass of wine and taking a sip.

"You seem to forget he's commissioner of police y/n, dramatic is in the job description." Jamie stated and everyone laughed once again.

Y/n shook her head as she laughed with her family, glad to have them around her. She glanced in front of her to see Danny looking at her with a small smile. He winked at her in assurance before taking a bite of his food, and y/n smiled at him before looking down at her plate o continue her own food. Grabbing her glass of wine, she smirked at her pops when he mentioned about needing a rematch on the chess game they had played last week.

"Didn't y/n win that one?" Nikki asked, smirking at y/n who nodded her head in appreciation.

"Nah, I was going easy on her." Henry stated, taking a drink from his own glass.

"Nah, your gramps is just a sore loser, I won fair and square right Jack." Y/n asked, glancing at the boy who had watched their game.

"Right." Jack nodded causing everyone to laugh once again.

----------------------------------------------

The following day y/n was teaching her regular PE class, and she watched the group of students as they started to run laps of the court. Hearing footsteps outside the door, she folded her arms and turned her head to the sound. Deciding to check it our, she made her way over to the door, ready to give out to students ditching class, only to see no one. Squinting her eyes in confusion, Ms. Reagan made her way back into the hall, clapping her hands to gain the students attention.

"Alright guys, grab some balls and were gonna do volleyball. One on one." She announced, grabbing the net full of soft balls before placing it in the middle of the floor, allowing students to grab them and pair up. "The rules are...."

Y/n was interrupted by an echoing bang being heard, causing the students to look around the hall. Hearing it again, closer than before, the students flinch at the sound. Y/n's eyes widened as she realized the sound, the sound of a gun. She looked around the hall before seeing the storage unit, knowing it wasn't exactly spacious but she needed to figure out something before the person responsible for the shots found them. They couldn't stay in the hall it was way too open.

"Alright, everyone be calm, we need to find somewhere to hide, no need to panic, just follow me into the storage unit, keep your heads low, does everyone understand me." Y/n explained slowly, indicating for everyone to crouch down, "Treat it like the ones we practiced. Hid behind anything in there, I will lock and block the door once everyone is in there, it's going to be a tight squeeze but make it work."

Y/n watched the students eyes widen in fear as they realized what was happening. Shushing the students who whimpered, and knowing they didn't have much time to waste, she began pushing students towards the unit. Students began to follow each other and y/n ran towards the door to lock it and grabbed the bag which had held the balls to make it more difficult for the shooter to determine people were present.

Upon making it to the unit she locked the door and ordered students to grab some of the ridiculously heavy gym mats to barricade it, blocking the windows that would risk exposure. She sighed deeply and watched students huddle close to their friends, sliding down the mats to be close to the door.

"Okay guys, I know you have phones on you. I need you to contact those who need to know what's going on and put them on silent. Do not tell anyone where you are hiding, we do not know who or where they are, but they may have someone's phone or be able to track our phones, understood." Y/n whispered sternly, trying to keep everyone, and herself, calm.

Y/n grabbed the laptop left at the side of the storage unit for emergencies and checked to see if any emails was out about what was going on. She knew it was only a matter of time till one, or both, f her brothers would catch wind of what was going on and would make their way to aid, her father would no doubt follow. She just needed to keep her students safe and sane until help arrived.

-------------------------------

Danny sat at his desk as he worked on some paperwork with Jackie after finishing another case. Turning to his computer he began to look at some evidence from labs when something came over the radio.

"School shooting in operation, Location: Local high school, All units available please respond. Armed forces are required." A dispatcher announced causing Danny's eyes to widen in shock before jumping up.

"Danny, what's up?." Jackie asked, concerned for her partners sudden movement as she also got up.

"Y/n teaches there." He responded, grabbing his gun and putting it in it's holster and clipping his badge in a rush before taking his car keys.

"That's where y/n teaches?" Jackie asked, also getting up and grabbing her gun and badge.

"Yep, now let's go." Danny ordered, before rushing out of the office, Jackie rushing to keep up with him.

"Detective Curatola and Detective Reagan on route to shooting." Jackie reported back to dispatch as she got in the car just in time for Danny to speed off, sirens blaring.

--------------------------------------------------

Jamie and officer Renzulli sat in their patrol car, watching the city in the corner while eating their lunch. Jamie bit into his sandwich as he listened to his mentor explain his recent dilemma with his wife before stopping as they heard the car radio cackle to life.

"All available units please respond. School shooting in operation, Location: local high school. Armed forces are required."

"Shit." Jamie cursed, pushing his lunch onto the floor , not caring where it went as he heard the school name.

"What's the stress for Reagan, call us in." Officer Renzulli stated, pointing at the radio as he started the car.

"Officer Reagan and Officer Renzulli available on route." Jamie called into the radio before putting on the sirens and answering his mentors question "My sister works there."

"Erin, isn't she a lawyer."

"No my other sister y/n. Can't we go any faster." Jamie asked, agitated to get there.

"I'm going, I'm going. Don't worry I'm sure she'll be in a safe place, don't schools to training for these type of things."

"Yeah, but you and I both know training is nothing like an actual scenario." Jamie explained, not in the mood to be talking.

"True that." Renzulli agreed, realizing Jamie didn't want to talk any more.

-----------------------------------------------

Frank sat in his office, currently in his latest monthly meeting with the fire commissioner. He loved being commissioner but sometimes these meetings seemed to drag on. He sighed and rubbed his forehead in frustration before his office door opened and Baker came through.

"Baker." Frank stated, looking up at his receptionist.

"Sorry commissioner, emergency within the police districts, dispatch has been asking for any available units to respond to the situation. Said armed forces were required for a school shooting." Baker relayed information to her boss who watched her in thought.

"Oh God." The fire commissioner swore under his breath causing Frank to glance his way before returning his gaze to Baker.

"What school?" He asked, trying to hide the lump formed in his throat."

"The local high school sir." Baker replied, watching as the commissioner took a deep breath and look down, head in his hands.

"Baker, call for a car. I don't need a driver, just the car." Frank ordered softly as he refused to look at anyone.

"Sir?" The woman asked confused, " You can't go, commissioners don't respond to shootings."

"Baker I didn't ask for your input I asked for a car. I need to get there and I don't care how, just find a way." Frank stated sternly, looking ahead of him.

"But sir."

"Baker, my daughter works there and I need to be there to see what's happening, so get me a car and tell them that the commissioner is on his way." Frank ordered, standing up and putting his hands on the table in front of him, looking at her finally.

"Right away sir." Baker responded, knowing no Reagan would take no when it's family involved.

"I'm sorry commissioner but we will need to postpone this meeting." Frank stated, looking at his fellow commissioner as he opened the drawer which contained his gun and badge.

"Don't sweat it sir, I pray for your daughters safety."

"Thank you."

Frank nodded is head at his fellow commissioner and left the office. He sighed in sorrow as thought of his youngest daughter being held hostage in school with a bunch of students under her protection and opted to text her 'y/n, be calm, you will be okay, we will get you and the students out safe'. As the car arrived for him he got into the back before it came to full halt and sat impatiently as they made their way to the scene.

Fear turns to confession (1/3)

Fear Turns To Confession (1/3)

It was long day for intelligence. They were working on a murder rape case where three women and two children were found dead with multiple stabbing wounds, the children haven been sliced in the neck. There was prove of forced sexual intendancies but they were no closer to finding the killer, only knowing that it was likely personally due to the victims being related.

"Alright any questions?" Hank asked, looking around after going through some new information before a phone goes off. "Sorry, sorry." Mouse spoke in a rush, grabbing his phone and looking at it before answering. "Everyone good?" Hank asked, bringing everyone's attention back to him causing everyone to nod, "Alright, back to work."

Jay made his way back to behind his desk and sat down, leaning towards the paperwork that contained information about the victims and how they were killed. Hearing movement, he glanced up only to see Mouse heading towards Erin in a rush, speaking to her abruptly before heading down the stairs, likely taking two at a time. Realizing the unusual behavior of his fellow veteran, Jay frowned and moved towards his girlfriends desk, leaning against it as he spoke.

"What was that about?" Jay asked her, looking in the direction Mouse left. "What was what about?" Erin asked, faking confusion. "Come on, where's mouse going?" Jay spoke, crossing his arm and looking at her. "I dunno, probably to get coffee or something." "What was he talking to you about?" "The case, he found something he thought was useful." "That quick?" "Jay, you know him, he's quick on things like this, just go back to work." She responded with a sigh before leaving her desk and heading to Hanks office.

------------------------------------

Erin did know what was going on with Mouse and why he had rushed off so quick after getting the disruptive phone call. She just chose not to tell Jay because she knew previous relations may arise.

Mouse had gotten a call from Will, saying that he and Jay should go to Wills house as someone from their past work had turned up. Upon hearing it was y/n he rushed out, not bothering to wait for Jay and opting to tell his trustworthy girlfriend instead.

Y/n was someone who used to serve with Mouse and Jay up until they left the army. She had started working two years after Jay and Mouse started and was still an active soldier when Jay had left, Mouse following two years later. They still kept in occasional contact but they hadn't seen each other in person since they left the service.

A couple of days ago y/n had gotten into an accident with work, and as a result was ordered to take leave to recuperate and recover before returning should she choose to. Instead of telling Jay like Mouse had asked her to, she opted to keep the information from her boyfriend, afraid that he would leave her for his former colleague. She knew that Jay and y/n had some form of a relationship, whether it was official or not, based on the fact that sometimes Jay called her y/n instead of her actual name. The fear of Jay leaving her for someone was something that wasn't worth taking the risk in her opinion, so she was determined that Jay wouldn't find out, even if it meant lying to him.

-------------------------------------------

That evening, Jay kissed Erin goodbye from the district before heading towards Will's place for a couple of drinks and to watch the match. Seeing Jay at his door, Will smiled in greeting before letting into the apartment, grabbing two bottles of beer from his fridge before sitting on the couch beside him where the TV was on playing the match of the week.

"How was work?" Will asked, starting conversation. "It was good, tough case." Jay spoke with a shake of his head, taking a drink from his bottle. "Yeah it must of been when you didn't come by earlier with Mouse." Will replied, drinking his own drink. "Mouse came here?" Jay asked in confusion. "Yeah, earlier on I called him and he came, said he told Lindsey to tell you." "Why would he come here? Erin never told me anything." Jay asked, confused about why his girlfriend would lie to him. "You don't know?" Will asked, squinting his eyes in confusion. "Know what?" "Y/n's back, she had an accident with a landmine so they told her take some leave time. I called mouse and you but when you didn't answer Mouse said he would get Erin to tell you." Will explained, leaning back into his seat. "Erin didn't say anything. Y/n's back?" Jay asked, looking at Will with wide eyes. "Yeah, just this morning. She's on leave to recover, you really didn't know?" Will asked, realizing that his brother clearly wasn't told anything. "Nothing was said to me. Where is she staying?" Jay asked, grabbing his phone and keys from in front of him. "Ehh here, but she's looking for her own place so it's temporary. She's off in an appointment right now with the military doctor or something." "Right, tell her to call me, yeah. I need to sort something out." Jay stated, standing up and grabbing his coat. "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for her not saying anything." Will shouted after his brother as he heard the door open. "Yeah, I'm sure there is." Jay agreed to himself as he closed the door and left.

----------------------------------------------

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jay spoke, walking into his and Erin's shared apartment. "I thought you were going to Will's for the night?" Erin asked, by passing his question. "I was, but then he told me that he had been trying to contact me but when he didn't called Mouse to tell him that y/n was back. But you already knew that because Mouse told you to tell me." Jay explained and Erin's eyes widened slightly. "Look, Jay..." "Why didn't you tell me Erin, don't you think I would of liked to know that my friend and fellow soldier was home after an accident." Jay asked, placing his hands behind one of their kitchen tables. "Yes, I know, I should of told you but, I know the way you two were before you left the army. How close you two were. You called me her name and I was afraid that if you knew that she was back you would leave me for her." "You still should of told me." Jay spoke with a shake of his head. "I know Jay, and I'm sorry, I just don't want to lose you." Erin spoke in a small voice, knowing what she did was wrong. "Linds, your not going to lose me okay, you and I are strong and are relationship works on trust and truth. I need you to tell me these things no matter what you fear and trust that I will not try anything behind your back." Jay spoke, lowering his voice and moving closer to his girlfriend, placing a hand around her waist. "I'm sorry I lied." Erin smiled and Jay smiled back, leaning down to pull her into a kiss.

------------------------------------

The following day intelligence gathered to talk about the case. Jay and Mouse were leaning against a desk with their arms crossed, half listening and half not. Both men were thinking of their old friend, and only one of them were expecting to hear their phone go off. Jay glanced at Mouse as he heard the soft ping and Mouse smiled as Hank finished before heading down the stairs. Frowning in confusion, Jay watched Mouse head down as Erin came towards him.

"Hey, you ok? You seem distracted." Erin asked, putting a hand on Jays arm. "Yeah fine, just confused is all." "About what?" Erin asked, scrunching her eyebrows. "Y/n?" Jay asked, looking away from Erin causing her to frown and turn to where he was looking.

Mouse walked up the stairs with a young lady beside him. The ladies arm was in a cast and she seemed to have a limp. Her h/c hair was down, covering half her face and she refused to make eye contact with anyone, but yet Jay seemed to know who she was. Erin glanced at Jay as he moved towards the two while the rest of the group watched on, wondering who the lady was.

"Y/n?" Jay asked again, louder this time, causing the lady to look up. "Hey Jay." She smiled, happy to see her old army friend. "What are you doing here? I thought you were spending the day recuperating. I was going to come see you after shift." "Decided to get out of the house. You know I always hated sitting around."

"Care to introduce us." Hank asked, his rough voice breaking the reunion. "Guys this is y/n, she was in the army with myself and Mouse here." Jay spoke, placing a hand on Mouses shoulder as he smiled shyly. "Y/n this is intelligence, where I work now." "Nice to meet you all." Y/n smiled, though Jay couldn't help but notice the slight flinch she gave. "Voight, Hank Voight. Head of intelligence." Voight stated, offering a hand shake. "Nice to meet you." Y/n smiled, accepting the hand shake.

Y/n started greeting the rest of Jays colleagues, and all but one seemed to happily greet her. Erin appeared to give y/n a hard shoulder, and y/n knew that it was over her and Jays past. Mouse had told her that Erin refused to tell Jay that she had returned, and y/n couldn't help but feel slightly bitter towards the woman her friend was dating. She knew Jay had called Erin her name a few times, but y/n couldn't help but be embarrassed about it even if she wasn't to blame. But none the less she smiled at Erin, and Erin smiled in compliance before wrapping her arm around Jays, causing him to look down in confusion as they never really showed affection in work, before watching y/n as she smiled at Adam as they spoke.

Scared And Alone (10/12)

Y/n walked around with Saul and Dowling, watching the students of Alfea train together as if getting ready for battle.

"Do you think your ready to train?" Dowling asked her, looking over her shoulder slightly.

"I've been in control for weeks now, I think I'm ready." Y/n nodded causing Dowling to look at Saul who nodded.

"Alright, Riven, Terra, train with y/n." Silva called out to the fairy and specialist who were working together before leaving.

"Ice can overpower earth by killing it, there's no way I can overpower you." Terra stated

"But work together and we can beat them." Y/n stated, indicating to the two specialists, causing Terra to nod as they took their places at the corners.

The two fairies watched as the specialists fought it out before y/n called it out "Now." She shouted at Terra. Terra shot out a vine and y/n threw ice to wrap around it, making it solid and hard to break. The vine moves in between the two specialists tripping up the girl but Riven got out of the way before it could hit him. Y/n rolled her eyes and formed an ice puddle under his feet causing Riven to slip and fall.

"Ouch." Y/n spoke before moving off the platform.

Y/n grabs her drink before sitting beside Riven. Looking ahead, she takes a drink from it as Terra and Riven talked. Hearing Beatrix's name she turns to them as ,watching as Terra leaves

"So I see you have more control now." Riven pointed out.

"Lucky you. You could of had a spike up your spine if I didn't." She joked causing Riven to shiver involuntarily.

"Cold" Riven mumbled

"And sore." Y/n stated before turning her head to watch Sky and Bloom fight a dummy burned one.

"You okay?" Riven asked seeing her staring into space.

"Yeah, just seeing the burned one reminded me of the frozen one." She explained, nodding her head a little.

"Are the frozen ones actually real or did you just make them up?" Riven asked with a smirk.

"What do you mean?" Y/n asked, confused on why he would ask that.

"Just that no ones seen one, we've seen burned ones yeah, but not a frozen one. So who's to say that your not lying."

"Riven they are real, they killed my parents. I seen them die with my own eyes. I can't believe you would even ask me that." Y/n stated, hurt filling her as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Just saying is all." Riven shrugged, putting his hands up in mock surrender.

"I can't believe you." Y/n spoke, standing up in front of him "I'm going to put this down to the whole Beatrix thing because before this year you were the sweetest. Now your just a jerk constantly since you've met her."

"Don't you dare y/n, don't you dare act like the good guy in this okay. I'm not the one who blocked out her friends."

"Because I was grieving Riven, I didn't know what to do and you and Sky were with the girls and I felt like I had no one."

"Oh cut the crap y/n. Beatrix was right, you are an attention seeker." Riven stated as he stood up before moving away from her.

"Hey, everything okay?" Sky asked, jogging up to y/n as he seen Riven walk away from her.

"Somethings not right with Riven, he just said things that were really hurtful, that's not like him Sky." Y/n stated, turning to Sky who seen the tears in her eyes.

"Hey, it's okay. It's just the whole Beatrix thing alright? He hasn't been himself lately, even over summer he changed. I wouldn't worry about it too much alright." Sky comforted her, pulling her into a hug.

"Okay." Y/n spoke, unsure of herself.

"Come on, I've to meet Silva for a bit but then we can do something okay." Sky smiled, offering his hand to her.

"Yeah okay." She smiled, taking her hand before following him into the school building.

---------------------------------------------

Y/n and Sky ran the direction they seen Silva go. Sensing Sky's discomfort she rolled her thumb around his knuckles to calm him down, looking up at him to see him smile in appreciation before letting go of her hand.

"Silva, seriously pairing me with Bloom, it seems pretty obvious." Sky stated causing y/n to look at him in confusion.

"Well, Bloom's a powerful fairy your a powerful specialist no body questioned it."

"Questioned what?" Y/n asked to herself but Silva looked at her before giving Sky a pointed look.

"Y/n can stay." Sky said, giving Silva a pointed look.

"What have you found out?" Silva asked causing y/n to scrunch her eyes in confusion.

"She hasn't said anything about her trip with Beatrix. I'm telling you Bloom isn't some mastermind. The more time I spend with her the more I'm convinced of that. And the more I'm convinced...." Sky looked back at y/n who was watching the two speak in confusion.

"What is it?" Silva asked, causing Sky look back a him.

"Stella's gone, Rivens a mess and just snapped at y/n which he never does, and the person I'm spending the most time with I am spying on." Sky stated, causing y/n to take a step back.

"What you are doing matters. You have to trust me. Everything I do and everything I have done is to keep the otherworld safe. It's something your father and I had in common and yes it's lonely but there is an honor in that Sky." Silva stated, looking his foster son in the eye.

Sky sighed heavily before looking back at y/n who watched him curiously. He looked back at Silva and the two nodded before leaving. Y/n went to follow him when Silva stopped her.

"Y/n." He called causing Sky to look back.

Y/n looked up at him and nodded to say she was listening.

"Help him, I get it's lonely but it might help with you on his side." Silva spoke, causing y/n to nod in agreement.

"I was going to regardless of what you said." Y/n replied before leaving with Sky who sighed and followed her.

---------------------------------------

Y/n and Sky sat in the boys dorm, not speaking a word. Looking around the room, y/n sighed and got up, moving towards the window to look out. Sky watched cautisly from his bed as she didn't speak.

"What ya looking at?" He asked, trying to get a response from her.

"Just watching the specialists. I used to always do that when we weren't talking." She replied, looking back at Sky as he smiled weakly.

"I have to help them find out about Beatrix." Sky tried to explain himself.

"Somethings not right, I can feel it." Y/n spoke.

"How so?" Sky asked, standing slightly from his bed to pull y/n to lie down with him.

"Something bad is going to happen, I just don't know what." She replied, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Maybe it's just conflict between you and Riven." Sky tried to help.

"Maybe." Y/n nodded, turning to look at the clock on Skys bedside table.

"Why don't you stay the night. I'm sure Riven won't mind." Sky suggested, seeing the dull light shining through the window.

"Silva will give out." Y/n replied with a slight yawn.

"Meh, don't mind him." Sky replied causing y/n to laugh slightly.

"Yeah, maybe I will." Y/n sighed and sitting up to slid down the floor only for Sky to beat her to it.

"Yeah no your staying there. I'll take the floor." He replied, grabbing the throw over which was folded at the bottom of his bed.

"No, Sky." Y/n whined tiredly.

"No arguments." He replied with a yawn as he snatched one of his two pillows from the bed before getting comfy.

"That can't be comfy." She stated, watching as he tossed and turned.

"I'll be fine." Sky insisted before winching as he hit his elbow against the floor.

"Yeah come back up here. There's room for both of us." Y/n insisted, grabbing his elbow and attempting but failing to pull him onto the bed beside her.

Sky sighed but moved back onto the bed, tucking the pillow under his head as he threw the throw over over y/n, knowing she'd most likely get cold at some stage and the blanket wasn't exactly made for two.

"Night Sky." Y/n smiled, curling up on her side with a slight smile.

"Not y/n." Sky replied, moving so he was laying on his back before closing his eyes.

----------------------------------------------------

Silva moved towards the last door on the corridor and knocked before entering upon no reply. He sighed but smiled slightly at the sight of the fairy and specialist curled up together. Some stage after falling asleep y/n had turned to face Sky and was now laying with her head on his chest with Sky's arm wrapped around her shoulder. Silva chucked and moved to close the door when he seen Riven walking down the hall, breathing out the last of the smoke he had breathed in.

"I'm going to take it you weren't smoking regardless of me just seeing you exhale smoke." Silva stated after closing the door.

"Nope, it's quite cold out there, must of been just my breath." Riven replied cheekily.

"Mhmm." Silva hummed with suspicion as he crossed his arms, "Don't wake them going in, your late in by the way." Silva stated before leaving down the hall.

"Them?" Rive asked in confusion before opening the door.

He stopped when he seen two bodies lying on Sky's bed before realizing who it was. Riven chuckled in disbelieve with a shake of his head before moving towards his bed, kicking off his shoes. He watched as Sky moved his head when one of them hit his bed.

"Your back late." Sky muttered tiredly, half asleep.

"Yeah, late night practice." Riven lied.

"Mhmm." Sky hummed, too tied to catch onto the lie as he fell back asleep.

Riven rolled his eyes and lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling before falling asleep.

Christmas Tears

Anthony Bridgerton x wife reader

Warnings: child loss, grief

Christmas Tears

Anthony and Y/n Bridgerton had been together for nearly a year now. During last season they had met, y/n’s family had travelled back home to be with her grandmother after her grandpa’s death, and it had been the first year y/n was introduced to society. As a 20 year old woman she was known as an old woman, nearly old enough to be a spinster. But her father was adamant that his only daughter wasn’t going to wind up with that title, so had put together a list of suitable men for y/n to meet.

Anthony Bridgerton hadn’t been on that list, but for some reason his younger brother Colin had. With y/n’s father having an interest in travelling, the third oldest Bridgerton had caught his eye, and therefore the two had been introduced. Neither Colin or y/n had an interest in each other, but had become close friends. They would often pomegrade around the town with y/n’s handmaid, and one day the viscountess had offered the y/l/n family an invitation to dinner, which was where Anthony and y/n had officially meet.

It was butterflies from the start for y/n, and Anthony had felt a shook when he took y/n’s hand, bringing it up to kiss it gently. Violet could tell by the look on her oldest face that he was smitten for the girl, and had advised Colin to get the two to sit together. For the duration of the night, Anthony showed great interest for the young woman, and asked any questions from her hobby to what she wanted in the future. At first her father wasn’t impressed, but when he seen the look the two mothers gave each other, he found himself second guessing which Bridgerton boy he thought best for his daughter. Despite wanting her to marry for society, y/f/n also wanted her to have some form of love within that marriage, just as he and y/m/n had. It was to Colins relief when her father told him abruptly that he wasn’t suitable for his daughter, and Benedict was more than happy to tell Anthony about that conversation.

It wasn’t long until Anthony asked for y/n’s hand from her father. He had visited her on the daily, and when the two families were out he would escort y/n around, much to the dismay of those who watched on. Anthony asked the question on one of their walks, stopping in the middle of the path as he took both of y/n’s hands, facing her as he smiled at her. She blushed as he held everyone behind them up, but he didn’t care about any of that, his attention solely on y/n. Their mothers hugged each other in delight as they watched the eldest Bridgerton ask the only daughter to marry him, while his father coughed to hid his emotions, shaking Anthony’s hand.

Now, in the cold December weather, the newest Bridgerton couple had joy on their doorsteps. Three months after their wedding, the new Viscountess had learnt that she had become with child. Anthony had been overjoyed with the news, and had grown protective of y/n from the moment they conceived. Y/n had known that her mother found it difficult to conceive, which was why she was an only child, and she had been scared that the same thing would happen to her. So when the doctor confirmed that she was indeed carrying a child, she was ecstatic, wasting no time telling her husband the news.

“Y/n, dear, what is it?” Anthony had asked when his wife had barged into his office without so much of a knock. “Anthony, I am with child.” Y/n grinned ear to ear as she said it out loud. “You are certain?” Anthony asked, not believing his ears. “Yes, it isn’t just the bug I had.” Y/n cried joyfully, putting her hands around Anthony’s neck. Anthony laughed in joy as he placed his hands on her cheeks to wipe away the tears before pulling her into his arms. “What on earth is all this about?” Benedict asked, seeing his brother and new sister buzzing with excitement. “Call mother, we have some exciting news.” Anthony told his brother, and y/n smiled as Benedict rushed off. “We are to be parents.” Y/n called out gleefully as Violet came into Anthony’s office with Benedict and Colin behind her. “Oh this is wonderful news.” Violet exclaimed, moving to take the new Viscountess in her arms. “Congratulations brother.” Benedict smiled, shaking her brothers hand. “Does this mean we should leave?” Colin asked jokingly, only for Anthony to laugh as Colin pulled him into a hug. “Oh I promise I will be out of your hair as soon as I can.” Violet stated to y/n as she kept a hold of her hands. “I assure you there is no rush for anyone to leave. It is a delight to be around such a large family.” Y/n smiled at each of the Bridgerton present, Anthony placing a hand on her shoulder.

---

The months of y/n’s pregnancy flew by quickly. The Bridgerton family were excited for the newest addition, and going by the couples maths, the baby would be due sometime in December. Y/n had always enjoyed Christmas, so having her first born during her favourite time of year made her feel all warm and fuzzy. Yet when December came, the couple felt  underprepared. Both y/n and Anthony’s mothers had bombarded the couple with gifts for the baby, and y/n’s father had helped Anthony when it came to the nursery. The couple refused to let the help do the nursery for them, wanting to enjoy the troubles that came with the joy. Y/n had just stood laughing at her father and husband as they put together the wooden crib, while her mother helped her prepare the clothing the babe would wear.

The Christmas tree had been placed in the family room, and y/n admired the twinkling lights that shone on it. The odd ornaments that had been part of the Bridgerton family were littered along the branches, with one new addition for the new Viscountess. Y/n smiled as Hyacinth and Gregory ran around it, holding her swollen baby as she imagined what it would be like with her own children in the years to come. Anthony walked into the room to see her beautiful wife lounging on the sofa, and he smiled as he jumped down beside her, causing y/n to hit his knee in mock anger.

“Anthony Bridgerton, please be careful.” Y/n scolded her husband, before cupping his chin as he pecked her lips. “I do apologize my love.” Anthony smirked at her, pecking her lips again before wrapping an arm over her shoulder. “Will the baby come tomorrow?” Hyacinth asked, looking at the couple on the couch. “I don’t know Hyacinth, only they can decide that.” Y/n smiled at her little sister. “I don’t think I’d like that, a birthday on Christmas day.” Gregory scrunched his nose at the thought. “I think it would be a lovely gift to have them come on Christmas.” Anthony mused, placing a hand on y/n’s swollen stomach. “Your not the one that’ll be going through hardship my love. I would rather have no pain tomorrow.” y/n smiled, wanting to enjoy their first and last Christmas as the two of them. “You soon forget the hardship once you see their little face.” Violet explained as she came into view of her children. “Still , I would enjoy a quiet Christmas with my love.” Y/n smiled, looking up at Anthony. “I like the sound of that.” Anthony smiled, leaning down to kiss his wife softly. “Perhaps we should let your brother and love be children. After all they need all the rest they can get before the joys of parenthood begins.” Violet spoke to her two children, ushering them out of the room before closing the door behind them.

----

The night was cold as y/n walked around the grounds in her house gown. She had felt some twinges and had decided to take a walk outside to see if the cool air would help. Miraculously Anthony hadn’t woken up as she moved, so she got out in peace without Anthony trying to keep her inside. She had seen the clock on her way out, and couldn’t help the smile on her face when she seen it was past twelve. She could see the street lights still shining, and smiled at the sight before jumping when a voice was heard from behind her.

“You should be asleep my love.” Anthony mused, walking over to y/n with his coat hung over his arm. “couldn’t sleep, thought the fresh air would help.” Y/n hummed, rolling her eyes as she felt Anthony drape his coat over her shoulders. “It’s too cold for you to be out here.” Anthony spoke, wrapping his arm around her waist. “I’m with child, not fragile.” Y/n stated, moving to lean against her husband’s chest. “Still, I’d hate for you to be sick on Christmas day.” Anthony stated, kissing her forehead. “I’ll be fine.” Y/n spoke.

The couple stayed in each other’s arms, enjoying their time together. Y/n snuggled into her husbands body, enjoying the comfort she felt in his arms. Feeling his wife leaning heavier on him, Anthony wiggled his fingers along her side to tickle her.

“Anthony stop.” Y/n giggled, trying to get away from him. “Let’s go back to bed. Hyacinth and Gregory will soon be waking us up.” Anthony stated, smiling down at his wife. “Merry Christmas my love.” Y/n smiled. “Merry Christmas y/n” Anthony grinned, knowing how much y/n enjoyed Christmas.

Y/n allowed Anthony to guide her back into the house. It was weird moving in such a quiet house, with voices always haunting the halls during the day. The Viscount and Viscountess began to make their way up the stairs, however, y/n found herself barely able to move when she felt the twinges coming back. Grabbing Anthony’s arm, she came to a stop to catch her breath. Feeling her grip tighten, Anthony looked down at his wife before her knees buckled under her.

“Oww.” Y/n winched, holding her stomach in one hand as she held Anthony’s in the other as she fell. “y/n, what is it my love.” Anthony asked, panicked by the clear pain his wife was feeling. “It hurts.” Y/n whimpered, allowing Anthony to slide his arm around her as he crouched down beside her. “What’s wrong?” Anthony asked. “I don’t know.” Y/n cried, digging her nails into Anthony’s arm. “Help, somebody help.” Anthony called out, not wanting to leave her wife’s side. “Anthony.” Y/n cried, moving to lean her head against his chest. “I know. Somebody please.” Anthony yelled, and then movement was heard.

The next few moments were quick. Multiple handmaids came to the Viscounts aid. With strict instructions to bring his love to their room, a door man was ordered to go for the midwife and inform y/n’s family o while others grabbed water and towels. Multiple doors opened, but Anthony ignored them as he made his way to their bedroom.

“What’s going on?” Violet asked, moving to the closest person. “The viscountess has gone into labour ma’m.” The woman spoke, bowing her head. “Oh Lord.” Violet exclaimed, rushing to help. “What’s happening?” A tired Benedict yawned as he walked out of his room. “Get Colin and take Hyacinth and Gregory to the far rooms. It’s time.” Violet spoke quickly to her son before running to aid her eldest.

---

Screams filed the once quiet halls as Anthony paced along the halls, anxious of what was to come. After some convincing from his mother, Anthony had left the room when the midwife arrived, leaving hm out of the woods of what was happening. He closed his eyes as he listened to his loves screams of pain, praying for it all to be over quickly.

Violet and y/n’s mother were standing each side of the bed, holding y/n’s hands as they coaxed the girls breathing. Sweat covered the viscountess’s forehead, and her eyes had grown tired from all the pain and pushing. The midwife stood at the bottom of the bed, watching for the babes head to appear, but it was a struggle. Y/n had been in labour for the best of an hour, and there was no sign of the babies head.

“Y/n, I’m going to try and feel for the babies head.” The midwife explained, and y/n’s mother looked down at the midwife. “I can’t do it mama, I can’t.” Y/n cried, jumping in discomfort as the midwife done what needed to be done. “Yes you can sweetheart, just think, your baby will soon be in your arms.” Her mother smiled down, pushing back the hair from y/n’s face. “Alright y/n, the baby’s cord is wrapped around the neck so I’m gonna need you to push for me when you feel the need to, as hard as you can.”

Y/n looked up at the two mothers who gripped her hand tightly, nodding at her that it’ll all be okay. She was growing tired, and she just wanted it to be over. Feeling the next contraction, she screamed as she pushed, feeling nothing but pain.

“That’s it y/n, your doing so well. I see their head. Keep going.” The midwife spoke. “Good girl, that’s it.” Y/n’s mother commented, smiling as she kept pushing her daughters hair back in comfort.

Y/n’s screaming came to a stop, causing silence to fill the room. Anthony looked to the door, hoping for someone to come tell him what was going on. Inside, y/n cried in relief as Violet and y/m/n squeezed her hand, comforting her.

“You done so well y/n.” Violet stated, taking a towel to wipe the girls face from sweat. “I’m so proud of you.” Her mother stated with a smile, before looking down where the midwife was working on the baby. “Why aren’t they crying?” Y/n asked, knowing that usually a babe would be screaming. “Ma’m, what’s happening?” Y/n’s mother asked, already having an idea. “They should be crying. Why aren’t they crying? What’s wrong with my baby?” Y/n cried out, begging to know what was going on. “You had a baby boy.” The midwife spoke softly, and the three women looked her way. “Why can’t I see him?” Y/n asked, tears filling her eyes. “I’m so sorry.” The midwife spoke sorrowfully, and y/n began to scream. “No.” Y/n screamed, “Please.” “I’m so sorry sweetheart, I’m so so sorry.” Y/n’s mother grabbed her daughter, allowing her to cling to her. “Anthony.” Y/n screamed in sorrow, wanting her husband.

Anthony looked up in terror as he heard y/n screaming his name. His heart thumped in his chest as he moved towards the door. Not caring about whether or not he should go in, he burst through the door. He froze when he seen what was in front of him. Y/n was in her mothers arms, screaming and crying as her mother attempted to soothe her. The midwife was cleaning y/n up and his mother turned to him before placing a hand on y/n’s back and walking towards him.

“What’s happened?” Anthony asked, seeing the tears in his mothers eyes as y/n could be heard screaming and crying in the background. “Anthony, I’m so sorry.” Violet spoke softly to her son, placing her hands on his arms. “What?” Anthony asked, looking at his mother in horror. “The baby… he didn’t survive.” Violet explained, before wrapping her arms around Anthony.

Anthony clung to his mother as they both fell. They’re baby was gone before it even had the chance to survive.

----

Christmas morning was a sour one for the Bridgerton family. While Hyacinth and Gregory were blissfully unaware of what was going on, they ran around, playing with their presents. The adults sat in the family room, staring into space. Violet had told Benedict, Colin and Eloise about the loss of the baby. The family were in shock, not sure what to do.

After the midwife left the family to mourn, y/n’s mother left after kissing the Viscount and Viscountess on the head. Anthony had moved straight over to his wife, climbing on the bed as she continued to scream in sorrow. Shedding his own tears, he kissed her head as he rocked her. Neither of them moved from the room, and no one went to see them.

At dinner time, Violet asked y/n’s handmaid to try get the couple down to eat something. While the children dug into the turkey, ham and trimmings, the adults remained in their seats, waiting to see if the couple came. They held their breaths when they heard footsteps, and soon two drained and tired figures came into light. Anthony kept an arm around his wife, and only moved from her when Benedict and Colin stood up, moving to comfort the couple. Benedict allowed y/n to fall into his arms as Anthony threw his arms around Colin. Violet looked down with tearful eyes, and Eloise could only watch in shock.

“Why?” Y/n cried, breaking the families hearts, “Why?” causing Anthony to bury his head on his younger brothers shoulder to hid the tears.

Y/n stood with Sky and Silva at the entrance of the school, relieved that the whole burned ones were over. Y/n leaned on her father in content as his arm was wrapped around her shoulder, both relieved that both were okay. Sky smiled at y/n slightly before continuing his conversation with Silva.

Y/n was a fire fairy, having got her fairy traits from her mother, who she never knew as she left when she was three. Her dad practically raised her himself, her and Sky, who was two years older than her and taken in by her father when she was five. Sky's father was y/n's godfather so Sky and Y/n had always been close, and always considered each other brother and sister. She never knew much about Sky's father, just knowing that he had died during an attack on the burned ones before. Silva never told her how he died, only telling Sky recently the truth.

Y/n's thoughts were interrupted when she heard the sounds of cars on the gravel leading to the school. She looked ahead at the gates to see black cars coming into view, solarian flags flying in the front of the bonnet. Sky and y/n looked at each other, frowning in confusion.

"Dad, Why are the solarians here" Y/n asked her father, looking up at him in confusion. "I dunno, I told them the attack was over." Silva replied to his daughter, watching as the cars came to a stop. The trio watched as soldiers jumped out of the cars, forming a circle around them. "What the hell is going on?" Sky asked, going for his sword only for Silva to stop him. "Sky." Silva warned, glancing at the blonde before turning his attention back to the front as the Queen came into view. "The queen." Sky stated, looking down at y/n to see her reaction.

Y/n had always had mixed feelings about the queen, and the royal family as a whole. When she was young, just after her mother had left her and her father, the queen had tried to take y/n away from her father. Queen Luna believed that y/n was special, why y/n was never told, and wanted her to fight with the solarian soldiers, a protector of royalty of some sorts.

Silva watched his daughter carefully and seeing the wariness on her face, took her hand and squeezed it in comfort, smiling in reassurance when she looked up at him. As the Queen stopped in front of tem he stood in front of her, watching as Luna looked over y/n.

"Y/n Silva, still as beautiful as I remember." Queen Luna commented on the young fairy as she hid behind her father. "Your majesty." Silva nodded, trying to get the attention off his daughter. "Saul Silva, it is with a heavy heart that I must put you under arrest." Queen Luna spoke, looking at the specialist with a poker face. "For what?" Sky asked, moving closer towards those he called family. "For the attempted murder of Andreas of Eraklyon." Y/n looked at her dad with horror, not believing what had been said. "Attempted?" Y/n asked softly, causing Silva and Luna to look down at her, her father pulling her closer to him. A door was heard causing everyones attention to turn ahead as someone stepped out of the car. "Hello Sky." The man with a beard stated with a ruff voice. "Dad." Sky asked with wide eyes.

Y/n turned to her father as footsteps were heard coming towards them, Silva's heart dropping at the look of fear on her face. Deciding to comfort her before it was too late, he took both her hands and turned her to face him before bringing a hand to her cheek, smiling slightly as tears built in both of their eyes.

"It's going to be okay, alright. Stay with Sky, okay, he'll look after you." Silva stated in a rush, kissing her head and going to hug her only to be pulled back. "No, dad, dad." Y/n cried, rushing towards him only to be pulled back. "You'll be fine y/n." Her dad tried to comfort her as he was pulled towards the car. "No, daddy please, don't leave me." Y/n shouted in pain, trying to get to her father only for soldiers to hold her back. "I'll be okay y/n, everything will be fine, just stay calm and don't lose control." Silva stated, his heart breaking as he heard his daughter called out, unable to comfort her as she only called him that when she was vulnerable. "Dad, no." Y/n cried, her voice going hoarse, bringing her hand up to the soldiers and burning them to let go of her. "It's okay, you have Sky." Her dad stated as the queen blocked y/n's vision when her father was placed in the car. "Shush child, it will all be okay." The queen tried to comfort her only for her to flinch and form a fire ball in her hand. "No, no, no." Y/n muttered continuously, watching as the car drove off, Silva glancing back at his daughter for the last time. "Y/n, it's okay." Sky stated once he was freed from the soldiers hold, moving to comfort his unbiological sister. "Sky, my dad, he.." Y/n was unable to speak. "Come here." Sky stated, pulling the younger girl into a hug, kissing her forehead slightly.

Y/n cried into Sky's chest as Sky comforted her, him watching as the fire she created slowly distinguishing as she eased into his comfort. Sniffs were heard from the young girl as she tried to calm down, Sky shushing her as he rubbed her back.

Seeing movement from the corner of his eye, Sky turned his attention to the side only to see Andreas, his father, walking towards Queen Luna with a box in his hands. His eyes only narrowed in concern as he watched the queen open it and take out a diamond spiderlike object

"Wait, what are you doing?" Sky asked as the Queen began walking towards them, causing y/n to turn and look in fear. "Things are about to change here, and with her emotions y/n is a threat." The queen spoke, moving closer to the two students. "Your actions are what caused her emotions." Sky stated angrily, grabbing y/n and pushing her behind him. "Doesn't matter, y/n needs to be controlled." The queen stated, moving towards y/n only for Sky to step in her way. "Sky, move." Andreas warned his son, crossing his arms. Sky looked at her father before looking at y/n who looked at him in fear. "Sky, please." Y/n begged, not knowing what was to happen. "Y/n." Sky stated, not used to seeing her so vulnerable, only for soldiers to force him out of the way. "This will help us control you if needed, we wouldn't want any accidents now, would we." The queen spoke before turning y/n around and moving down her jacket, embedding the object into her back.

Y/n screamed in pain, trying to get away from the thing that was being stuck into her back. Sky tried but failed to escape the guards grip, leaving him to only watch as y/n cried out. Seconds later the Queen stepped back and y/n looked back at the metal object that was not lodged into her back before glancing back at the Queen, noticing Rosalind joining the royals side.

"Things are about to change y/n, I'd hate to have to use more force on you." Rosalind spoke before they all walked away.

The guards let go of Sky before following their leaders tail, allowing Sky to rush over to Y/n. He grabbed her arm as he reached her and gently forced her to turn around so he could look at the foreign object in her back. Y/n groaned in pain as he touched it.

"Sorry." Sky apologized, removing his hand from it. "What is it Sky?" Y/n asked, not able to look back. "I dunno, I've never seen anything like it before." Sky stated, frowning in concern as his hand moved against the blood that dripped. "What's going to happen to my dad." Y/n asked, tearing up again. "I dunno y/n, he'll go for trial but after that, it's up to the queen really." Placing y/ns jack back over her shoulder before turning her to face him, "But you and I, we need to stick together, I don't know what's going to happen next but whatever that is, we'll have each other okay." Sky stated, putting a hand on y/n's uninjured shoulder in comfort. "I just want my dad." Y/n stated, face scrunching as tears began to fall.

Sky sighed and pulled y/n into a hug, not knowing what to say that would comfort the essentially newly fatherless girl. He knew that Silva was doubtful in having a easy outcome, and right now he couldn't really care less, but he was going to be there for y/n regardless, she didn't do anything to him.

Realizing that it wouldn't be a great idea to leave y/n on her own tonight, Sky opted to bring her to his room, it was part of break anyway so no one would be around. When they reached his dorm the two just sat in silence until y/n began crying loudly, unable to catch her breath. Sky just pulled her into his chest and lay back on the bed, knowing that this night was going to be a restless one. Afterall, the girl just wanted her dad.

Never threaten the Shelby sister 2/2

Info: Tommy never believed his sister when she said she was threatened by his enemies, but when injuries happen, Tommy is quick to make sure y/n knows how much he cares.

Relationship: Tommy Shelby x sister

Part 1

Never Threaten The Shelby Sister 2/2

The situation kept replaying in Tommy’s mind. Shooting the man, running to y/n, seeing his sister surrounded by her own blood and Michal leaning over her, begging her to stay with him as he held pressure to the wound, his arm bleeding from the shoulder. Tommy remembered shouting for someone to grab a doctor, and two men running out with a gurney, transferring his sister on it before rushing into the hospital. He remembered trying to get by them to be with his sister while nurses held him back, telling him to sit down and wait till the doctor came out.

Michal managed to get away with a few stitches, and a telling off from Polly about being so careless to try and take down two men when he was on his own. Y/n however, had fared out with serious injuries, and Tommy couldn’t help but blame himself. If he had of believed her than she probably wouldn’t be in this situation. She wouldn’t be lying in the hospital bed with Tommy holding her hand, her family coming in and out to see if there was any change. She was the one who took care of the patients who came an went, she wasn’t meant to be one. Instead, she lay on the bed while Tommy kept his head down, a grip on her hand, refusing to leave her side.

------------------------

“Any change.” Tommy looked up to see his aunt Pol standing at the door.

“No, nothing.” Tommy spoke, dropping his head to look at y/n.

“What did the doctor say?” She asked, moving into the room, and Tommy seen Michal following behind, winching as he jolted his arm as he sat down.

“They managed to get the bullet out but there was a ruptured vessel. They managed to stop it so it’s just a waiting game.” Tommy explained, rubbing y/n’s knuckles with his thumb.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t save her.” Michal spoke up, and Polly shook her head as she looked at her son.

“Don’t blame yourself pet, it wasn’t your fault.” She smiled before turning to Tommy, “It was your idiotic cousins’ fault.”

Tommy looked at Pol to see her piercing glare.

“Yeah, I get it, I messed up, is that what you want to fucking hear?” Tommy snapped, not liking his aunt at him when he knew he had messed up.

“Yeah Tommy, it is. You need to realize that if it wasn’t for you y/n probably wouldn’t be in this situation. This could have been prevented if you had just listened to her. But no, you had to be so high on your horse to believe her didn’t you.” Polly snapped at her nephew, and Michal looked away, not sure where to look. “Who was he anyway?”

“Doesn’t matter, he’s sorted. Won’t get near her again.” Tommy spoke, looking down at y/n and kissing her hand as he ran a finger down her face.

After an hour or so, Polly and Michal left with Polly promising she’d be around tomorrow, and warned Tommy to call if anything changed. Arthur and John had came by and said that they would be outside the door if Tommy needed them, stating that she needed all the protection she could get after the events of the evening, and Tommy agreed, saying that when y/n came through, he would be sure that a peaky blinder was around her 24/7, whether she liked it or not. He wasn’t going to let anything happen to her again. He realized just how much leverage his enemies would have over him if they got to y/n. She was his light, and Tommy knew that she was his everything.

That night Tommy refused to sleep. He spent the night sitting in the seat beside y/n’s bed, leaning back and staring into space. Grace had came by to try get him to come home, Charles had been wondering where his daddy was, but Tommy refused, stating that his sister needed him. This lead to an argument between the two, with Grace furious that he would choose his sister over her soon, but Tommy took no mind as his priorities lay with his sister. She was injured because of an error he made, and he wasn’t going to leave until he knew that she was okay.

It wasn’t until the early hours of the morning when an improvement to y/n’s condition was made. Tommy was knocked out of his thoughts by a slight movement of the hand he had never let go of since he was let into see y/n. Looking down, he could see y/n’s finger moving ever so slightly that he thought that it was his sleep deprived state that was making him feel it. But when he looked up at y/n and seen her head move to the side he knew he wasn’t hallucinating what he wanted to happen, it was in fact happening. In his desire to get y/n to waken up some more, Tommy stood up and leaned over his sister, placing a hand on the top of her head as he brushed back some lose hairs.

Y/n hummed as she felt the cool water hit the back of her throat. Licking her lips, she moved her head away from the cup Tommy had at her lips and winched as she swallowed. Tommy brought his hand back to hers and rubbed it between both his hands as he watched her try to open her eyes. Y/n struggled for a few minutes before finally opening her eyes, shutting them just as quick as she opened them when the light came to view. Blinking, she opened them once again, and Tommy came into her view, a slight smile on his face.

“Hmm, Tommy.” Y/n muttered dryly, smacking her lips together trying to get moisture to them as she kept her eyes closed with tiredness.

“Y/n, can you open your eyes love.” Tommy asked softly, rubbing his thumb around the palm of her hand.

“Water.” Y/n stated, though Tommy struggled to hear it with y/n’s dry throat.

“Here you go.” Tommy stated, quickly moving to the side of the room and filling a small cup with water, bringing it to her lips so she could drink.

Y/n indicated weakly with her hand for Tommy to come towards her and Tommy looked at her before sighing and moving back beside her bed. He took her hand once again and y/n smiled, squeezing it.

“Hey you.” He spoke gently, and y/n smiled slightly.

“Hey.” Y/n replied, moving to get up but gave up upon feeling pain.

"How you feeling love?"

"Like I've been hit by a bullet?" She joked, smile fading as she watched her brothers reaction.

"Y/n I'm so sorry for not believing you when you told me some guy threatened you. I should of trusted you and went to deal with him as soon as you said. But I didn't, and now look where you are." Tommy stated, throwing his hands up in frustration.

"Tommy, it's okay." Y/n tried to calm him down.

"No, it's not. And don't play it down like it is. You could of died y/n, and that would of been for my stupidness." Tommy said, standing up forcibly.

"Yeah, and I was beyond hurt that you didn't believe me. But you saved me from a worse faith Tommy. You got him and got help before it was too late. You may not see it but if it wasn't for you turning up when you did I would be very dead right now." Y/n explained to Tommy, and he looked at her with unease. "Come here."

" I thought you'd hate me." Tommy spoke in a small voice, one y/n hadn't heard in a long time.

"We make mistakes Tommy, and we learn from them. Be glad nothing terrible happened, don't overthink what you could of done. I'm here, and I'll hold it against you, but I could never hate you. That's not in my blood. Besides, the rest of the family hate you enough for me." Y/n stated, smiling slightly to ease Tommy's worry. "I love you Tommy, that will never change."

"I love you too." Tommy smiled, kissing y/n's hand, "and from now on someone will be with you at all times."

"Course they will." Y/n muttered before smiling at Tommy, knowing it would make him feel better.

Set Fire To The Rain

Y/n sighed as she stared down at the white stick in her hand. Another negative. Y/n and her husband Kelly had been trying to start a family, the next step in their relationship after marrying 4 years ago. They had meet via y/n's father Hermann, and they had instantly met it off. Y/n worked as a receptionist in the fire department and that was where Kelly first seen y/n. He had voiced his interest on the than 24 year old but had soon be shut down when Hermann told him that she was his daughter. It was actually y/n who started the relationship, by asking Kelly out for drinks, where Kelly than fell for her.

The two had dated for 4 years before Kelly popped the question. Now the two were ready to start the next chapter in their lives, but it was proving to be more difficult than they thought.

Y/n looked up at Kelly to see his eyes red as he tried not to cry. Wanting to comfort her husband, she pulled away from him before getting up and standing in front of him, pulling him into a hug. Kelly wrapped his arms around her waist as the two held each other, letting their frustrations out. Trying to get pregnant wasn’t easy, which felt ironic with all the time before marriage they tried to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. Kelly was always unsure of if he wanted kids, he didn’t exactly have a role model of a father to look up to, but that changed when y/n would often rope him into watching her siblings with her. Y/n had always smiled watching Kelly with her kid siblings, dreaming of the day they had their own.

“No luck.” Kelly voiced, eyeing his wife as she walked back out of the bathroom with the stick in hand.

“No.” Y/n spoke, tears filling her eyes as Kelly sighed in disappointment. “I’m sorry.” She stated, looking down as she sat beside him on the bed.

“Hey, why are you sorry. It’s not your fault.” Kelly stated, throwing an arm over her shoulder before kissing her head and leaning against her.

“But what if it is. What if I can’t have kids. Kelly all I’ve ever wanted was to be a mom but now..”

“Hey, it’ll happen. We’ll have our little one.” Kelly spoke, wrapping both arms around her, pulling her towards him.

Y/n sighed as she leaned on her husband’s chest.

“It’s been nearly a year Kel, maybe it’s not meant to be.” Y/n spoke, allowing a few tears to shed.

“I know.” Kelly sighed, bringing a hand up to wipe his eyes.

---

“Maybe we should explore other options, get help, support.” Kelly spoke after a few minutes of them being silent in each other’s presence.

“Like adoption?” Y/n asked as they pulled away, playing with Kelly’s hair.

“I was thinking of going to a fertility clinic. But if you want to go down adoption I’m all for that.” Kelly smiled weakly, kneading his thumb into y/n’s waist as he held them.

“I always wanted a child of my own, but I also always thought it would be easy to happen.” Y/n explained, looking Kelly in the eye.

“I know it’s not easy to go down that route, but we’re both exhausted y/n. We’ve been trying for so long, let’s take a break, spend time on us, organize a meeting with someone. See how it goes.” Kelly spoke, leaning his forehead on hers.

“Yea.” Y/n sighed, allowing Kelly to peck her lips.

“Come on, let’s head to work.” Kelly sighed, patting her sides before gently pushing her away from him as he stood up.

“Lonely bed tonight.” Y/n sighed in mock disappointment.

“Hey, at least your bed is comfy. Single beds are not great for a married man who’s used to his wife by his side.” Kelly smirked, pulling y/n to his side after grabbing his duffel bag.

“Seemed pretty comfy to me that one time.” Y/n smirked as she teased her husband with a wink.

“Behave.” Kelly scolded her, elbowing her away from him as they made their way to the front door.

Y/n stretched as she sat up from her desk two weeks later. Kelly and her were finishing work early to get out to meet the fertility clinic. The plan was to have their first consult, and the couple would go through an examination each to see where they were. They had chosen to keep their plans to themselves, not wanting Kelly’s co- workers to ask too many questions. There had been teasing among them when Kelly said they were leaving early, and Hermann had badgered his daughter, asking her what was going on. He had seen how tired the two were, and worried about the two, having started seeing Kelly as an extra son when he started dating his daughter.

------

“You’d tell me if there was something wrong, right?” He had asked y/n when she entered the kitchen for a coffee that morning.

“Dad, stop worrying. Everything is A okay.” Y/n smiled, kissing her father’s cheek.

“You look tired.” He noted, eyeing her weary eyes.

“I’m not a morning person, you should know that.”  Y/n smirked over her mug before taking a sip of her coffee.

“Uhuh.” Hermann sighed, taking the mug from y/n to set it down before pulling her into a hug, y/n meeting Kelly’s eyes over her father’s shoulder.

Kelly meet y/n at the cock pit of 51, leaning against squad’s truck as he looked out. Y/n had laughed a little at the sight, remembering all the times they had spent kidding behind that truck when they first started dating. Kelly pulled her into a hug as she got in front of him, before taking her bag from her as they walked to y/n’s car. It was silent as they drove to the clinic. Y/n and Kelly had a habit of playing with their rings when they were nervous, and if anyone seen them copying each other in the waiting room, they surely would of laughed.

The meeting was short, with the nurse explaining what was going to happen and the steps that may be possible. She explained that with y/n being a young, healthy woman, IVF was a possible choice. The couple were soon brought to separate rooms for their physical, and then it was a waiting game. Y/n was a nervous wreck for the week long wait, and the duo became quiet around everyone, worrying them to no end. But than their meeting came around, and Kelly and y/n held hands as they waited in the office for their doctor to sit down, file in hand.

---

“Mr and Mrs Severide, how are you both feeling?” The doctor smiled at them, seeing how nervous they are.

“Anxious to know our results.” Y/n spoke, looking at Kelly before looking at the woman in front of them.

“Well I’m happy to confirm that I am happy with the way you both are. Kelly your sperm quantity and hormone levels are up to the standard for fertilization. Y/n, your egg quality and quantity seem normal for a woman your age, your hormone levels are good, ultrasound and x- ray came back clear. You are both healthy individuals. A perfect candidate for IVF treatment.” The doctor smiled and the couple looked at each other, a watery smile on their faces.

“If everything is how they are expected, why aren’t we able to conceive ourselves?” Y/n asked, disheartened at the news.

“Sometimes there is no explanation to why someone can’t conceive naturally. But there is no shame in not being able to. Y/n, you are a healthy individual, and sometimes the body just needs a helping hand, and that’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with you y/n, just because you struggle to conceive.” The doctor smiled sadly, and Kelly squeezed her hand with a soft smile.

“What happens now?” Kelly asked.

“I’m not going to lie. The next few weeks are going to be tough, there may be some disappointments along the way. Y/n will go through a series of treatments to prepare her body for the extraction of her eggs. From there we will fertilize them. Once we know how many fertilized, we can then go through the process of embedding the egg into y/n’s womb, from there it’s a waiting game.” The doctor explained, and y/n looked at Kelly.

“What are the chances of this working?” Y/n asked.

“Unfortunately I cannot give a definite answer to that. Everyone is different. And it’s important that you don’t compare yourself to other people’s experience. Focus on your own, how many rounds you do is up to you. We go at your pace.”

“Okay, when can we start?” Y/n breathed, and Kelly smiled as he wrapped an arm over her shoulder.

The following few months were tiring. Y/n would take her injections, but with her fear of needles, Kelly would help her with them. During work, y/n would go into Kelly’s office and he would keep her injections in a mini fridge in his office. The daily injections were daunting, but it became apart of their routine, and the results were what they thought of, even with the discomfort of y/n’s abdomen.

Y/n sighed and looked around to see the firemen that surrounded them before nodding her head for her dad to follow her, which he did. She didn’t say anything till they got to Kelly’s office, and she opened the door, letting her father in first before closing it behind them. Kelly looked up in confusion at the father daughter duo.

“Hey y/n, you ok?” Hermann asked his daughter one day as she held her stomach slightly.

“Yea dad I’m fine.” Y/n stated, getting a glass of water.

“Are you in pain, I can get Brett to look you over if you like.”

“No dad, it’s fine, stop worrying.” Y/n sighed, getting annoyed.

“What’s up with you lately? Your not yourself lately.”

“Dad..”

“No y/n, please talk to me. I’m your father, it’s my job to look out for you. Is there something going on between you and Kelly because..”

“Oh my God dad stop. Me and Kelly are fine. It’s just..”

“What is it?” Hermann asked softly, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulder.

---

“What’s going on?” Kelly asked, looking between the two.

“We have to tell him Kelly, he’s annoying me with his pestering.” Y/n sighed, looking at her husband while hearing Hermann mutter.

“Sorry for caring about my daughter.” Hermann muttered, and y/n smiled slightly as she kissed his cheek before sitting on Kelly’s bed.

“Come sit.” Y/n smiled, patting the space beside her.

“What you have to tell me?” Hermann asked softly, looking between his daughter and son in law.

“Y/n and I have some news. But don’t over react about it.” Kelly stated, and gave Hermann a look as he went to object.

“Fine.” Hermann said, shaking his head slightly.

“Kelly and I, we’re ready to take the next step in our relationship.” Y/n spoke, looking at her father as he made a look of slight disgust, “But it’s been hard.” She looked at Kelly to continue.

“We weren’t able to get pregnant naturally, so we decided to get some advice. We went through some tests and went through our options.” Kelly stated.

“We’re going through IVF at the minute.” Y/n spoke, and Hermann looked at y/n.

“Oh sweetie, why didn’t you tell me or your mum.” Hermann spoke, placing an arm around his daughter.

“It’s been hard dad. Every negative test made us feel like something was wrong. And it was so hard to accept that it wasn’t going to happen ourselves. I didn’t want to admit that.” Y/n spoke, and Hermann sighed, bringing y/n into a hug.

“So, what’s happening now?” Hermann asked, still holding his daughter in his arms.

“At the minute y/n’s taking injections, than when the course if finished hopefully, with some examinations, she’ll be ready for egg extraction. They’ll fertilize her eggs and then we find out how many eggs we have. Hopefully.” Kelly added at the end.

“Is there anything I can do to help?”

“Just being here is enough dad.” Y/n spoke, feeling Hermann kiss her head.

“I’m here for you, for both of you.” Hermann spoke, reaching over y/n’s head to put a hand on Kelly’s shoulder.

“Thanks Hermann.” Kelly smiled.

A few months later y/n had gone through her extraction and was on her way to the center. She had received a call yesterday that 4 out of 10 of her eggs had fertilized, and once she hit ovulation they would implant it in her uterus to see if it would stick. Kelly was beside her, holding her hand as they drove to the center. They had booked the two days off work so y/n had no stress.

Kelly sat in the waiting room while y/n went through her implantation. He couldn’t stop fiddling with his ring, even after the doctor told him he could go in. He tried not to laugh at y/n’s grogginess, seeing her sleepy state made her smile. He kissed her head before holding her hand, listening as the doctor explained how the next few weeks would go. There would be a 14 day wait before they would know if they fertilized embryo stuck. She advised them not to take an at home pregnancy test before sending them home, telling y/n to relax and not stress too much.

The 14 days flew by, and the day of the test came by, with y/n feeling anxious. She held a tight grip on Kelly’s hand as she got her blood drawn, and then the waiting begun. Squad were on call when y/n received the call, and her father was sitting beside her at her desk when her phone rang.

“Hello?” “It is.” “Okay.” “uhuh” “okay” “Thank you.”

“What is it?” Hermann asked her daughter, seeing the look on her face.

“It’s the clinic.” Y/n stated, and Hermann sat up straight as he looked around.

“I’m here for you.” He stated when he seen no one around, taking y/n’s hand and rubbing his thumb against her knuckles.

Y/n’s controlled voice did nothing to control Hermanns nerves. She tightened the grip on his hand as the call went on, and he dreaded the worse. During the call he had heard squad pulling back in, and Kelly soon arrived at the door. Seeing his father in law holding his wife’s hand, he raised a brow, but held his breath when he seen y/n on the phone.

Y/n looked down as she hung up the phone, before looking up, her eyes on Kelly. Kelly couldn’t read her face as she walked away from her father and towards him. Wrapping his arms around her, he kissed her cheek when he felt her shake.

“Shh.” He comforted her, thinking it was bad news as Hermann looked down.

“Better get used to being called daddy.” Y/n mumbled in his ear, and Kelly froze.

“Are you??” He asked, pulling away from her.

“Uhuh.” She smiled widely, nodding her head.

“Oh my God.” He laughed loudly, lifting her up as she squealed in excitement.

“I can’t believe it, it isn’t real.” Y/n spoke teary eyed, cupping Kelly’s face as tears built up in his own.

“This is amazing.” He laughed, allowing the tears to fall as y/n wiped them away with her thumbs. “I’m going to be a dad.”

“I’m going to be a mum.” She stated, “Your going to be a granddad.” Y/n spoke, turning to her father who watching the interaction between the two with tears in his eyes.

“I am so happy for you two.” Hermann spoke, standing up to congratulate the two.

“What’s all this?” Boden asked, seeing two of his firemen crying and his receptionist between them, also in a similar mess.

“I’m going to be a grandpa.” Hermann blurted out, and y/n giggled when he looked at her guilty.

“Congratulations.” Boden smirked, shaking hands with Kelly before hugging y/n.

“Thanks Boden.” Y/n smiled, moving to wrap an arm around Kelly’s waist.

“I’m so happy right now.” Y/n mumbled, leaning her head on her husbands chest as the two men let them be.

“I love you.” Kelly smiled.

“I love you too.” Y/n smiled, leaning up to kiss Kelly.

The funeral for y/n was short and sweet. They decided to do a traditional gypsy funeral, knowing how much y/n loved their past life. Only the family joined, with their heads bowed throughout the ceremony, no one spoke, too afraid of what would come out if they tried. The town knew of the Shelby’s loss, and felt sorry for them. Despite the chaus they caused, no family deserved to lose a young one.

The house was silent during the festive period. Y/n’s presents had been left under the tree, Pol not letting anyone touch them, even though no one tried. They were a small part of her, even if she wasn’t present. The young girls room hadn’t been touched since that night, the only thing moved was the bedding which y/n had stained that night, and Ada had cleaned up the droplets that had made their way down the floor. Finn had tried sleeping in there one night, but in a fit of rage Tommy had shouted at him, telling him he wasn’t to go into that room again. Arthur and John wouldn’t go to the family home, not wanting to step into a home that wouldn’t have the laughter they used to love.

Christmas eve dawned on them quicker than they would of liked, and Tommy couldn’t help but grit his teeth as he sat in the living room, remembering the years when y/n would be jumping around, excited to see what would be brought to her this year. She always asked for a doll of some sort, and a wooden gun to be like her brothers, and each year she got one, each time they grew in size. The fire blazed with the two children’s stockings still hanging above them. Even Finn couldn’t get into the Christmas spirit, with everything around the time reminding him of y/n. The two youngsters would usually be outside around now, running around with the other kids before they were called in to get ready for midnight mass. It was the one mass y/n enjoyed going to, loving to see the baby lying in his manger, surrounded by the animals, men and his mother.

That night was quiet, and each room was filled with tears. Tommy lay awake on his bed, smoking a cigarette as his thoughts spiralled. He refused to allow the tears in his eyes to fall, rolling the cigarette between his lips every now and then. Y/n’s last few moments rolled through his head, and he frowned, remembering what she had said. ‘Under the bed’. With confusion surrounding him, Tommy decided to go into his little sisters room.

It was eery as he stood in front of the door, knowing that even when he walked in he wouldn’t see y/n, curled up in a ball on the bed. Trying to prolong the unavoidable rush of emotions, Tommy slowly turned the handle before creeping the door open. The place still smelt like Ada’s perfume which the eleven year old  had sneakily took from Ada’s room, her older sister knew where it was but never acted on it. Looking around, the Shelby gangster could see pieces of paper thrown around, crayons and pencils scattered around the place. Not wanting to stay long, Tommy crouched down, looking under the girls bed to see an old biscuit tin underneath. Presuming that’s what the young girl was insinuating, Tommy grabbed it before heading out of the room, leaving the door open.

Christmas morning was quiet in the Shelby home. Usually there would be a squeal in the early hours of the morning, before each person would be awoken by two children jumping on top of them, screaming it was Christmas. This year, Finn didn’t see the point in getting up, waking each person up. It didn’t feel right to do it on his own, so instead he waited until he heard the sound of footsteps before opening his door. Ada smiled sadly at the young boy who just stood in the doorway, before opening her arms, pulling him into a hug. Polly woke up to the sound of soft sobs, and couldn’t help the few tears that fell herself, feeling how bitter this day was going to be.

Few words were spoken as each family member sat at the kitchen, waiting for their toast to heat up. Usually Pol would make a fry up, but with her little helper not around, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. John and Arthur showed up shortly into the morning with their wives and Johns kids, but only a hello was spoken, until they made their way into the living room.

Finn hesitantly walked towards the tree seeing the small amount of presents that were around, one less pile was evident in the room. Ada’s breath caught in her throat as Finn handed out the presents, all evidently seeing one less name written on their presents. The adults tried to make Christmas somewhat normal for the kids sakes, but even they knew something was wrong. The rooms attention was drawn to Tommy as he cleared his throat.

“I know this Christmas is a tough one, just last week we said goodbye to our angel, but I know that she would want us to try celebrate it.” Tommy gruffly stated, standing up to the drinks cabinet. “Tommy, what are you doing?” Ada asked, confused on why each adult was given a glass of Sherry, the children moving out of the room. “To y/n.” Tommy spoke, holding up his glass. “Our darling sister.” Arthur spoke, holding his glass high. “Never forgotten.” Pol finished with a nod, before clinging the glasses together.

After downing the small amount of Sherry, Tommy grimaced at the taste before moving to the tree. Eyes watched him as he leaned down from behind, taking up an old biscuit box before placing it on the table in front of him. Recognizing y/n’s writing, Polly looked up at her nephew, squinting her eyes at him.

“What is this Tommy?” Polly asked, tears filling her eyes. “Before y/n died she told us under the bed. Now I didn’t think much of it until last night. And I found this.” Tommy tapped the box, “Ada, get Finn.” “What is it Tommy?” John asked, eyeing the box carefully.

Tommy waited until Ada came back in with Finn behind her. The youngest Shelby looked around before sitting on the ground by Arthurs feet, who tapped his head in comfort as the young boy stared at the box on the table. Breathing in deeply, Tommy opened the lid, before taking out some papers that were inside.

“Y/n always loved drawing, even when she got sick she used all her energy to dray. I never knew why until now. She made each of us a picture, with a little something on the back of  each.” Tommy explained, moving to hand out each of his siblings and Polly a sheet of paper. “Her last gift to us.” John stated, and he hung his head, not sure how to react. “Something to remember her by.” Tommy nodded, before taking a seat by the fire once again. “She was always such a thoughtful kid.” Ada spoke fondly. “Y/n you angel.” Polly smiled, looking down at the picture in her hand. “Some people make the world special, just by being in it.” Arthur read from the back. “Describes y/n to a T.” Arthurs wife spoke with a smile, placing a hand on her husbands back. “She was special.” Finn spoke tearfully, and Arthur rubbed his head gently. “Marry Christmas y/n.” Polly whispered, bringing the picture of an angel close to her. “Our angel in the sky.” Ada smiled sorrowfully, looking down at her own angel picture.
