the doctorclara/whouffle/whouffaldi/elevenclara/twelveclara/souffez name debacle.

nobody pointed this out a lot because many have been forgotten.

shipping naming conventions then:

take half of a ship's character's name and/or object, combine it with other half of character's name and/or object.

in this case: whouffle

who: doctor WHO (any doctor, eleven for easy sakes)

uffle: clara (soufflé, reference to clara baking soufflés in asylum as oswin and references to her failing to bake a soufflés)

shipping naming conventions now:

take both first names of ship and combine it

in this case: elevenclara

eleven (11th doctor) + clara (clara oswald): elevenclara/11clara.

Here it goes.

Back then, whouffle was born following the release of Asylum of the Daleks. Because Clara's hasn't been properly revealed yet and nobody thought better, whouffle came as a result of Who + Souffle; names and objects that back then how shipping naming conventions worked.

Whouffle was used to refer to 11clara (and her echoes) before the announcement of Capaldi as the 12th in June 2013. Then, because it was simpler, they decided to add -aldi (capaldi = 12) to the end of whouffle; whouffaldi (whouffle + capaldi) . and there was another thing; the 50th anniversary (which featured 10, resulting in allonswin (allonsy + oswin) (im not a huge 10clara fan tbh)). With this, they elected to revise the doctorclara naming scheme and added a new name for 11clara; souffez (soufflé + fez) and whouffle relegated to be as doctorclara.

for over a decade, it's always been this. 12clara was always referred to as whouffaldi and whouffle, 11clara was referred to as whouffle and souffez before souffez got dropped by around 2018-2019 due to confusion, whouffle being more recognizable and longer used, and more importantly, simplicity. by now, 11clara is referred to as whouffle by many and 12clara is referred to by both whouffaldi and whouffle which is understandable and annoying since the revision stating that whouffle referred to as doctorclara but can be annoying to someone like me who looks for 11clara content (images/gifs) with majority got taken over by 12clara content.

looking back and now use 11clara/elevenclara and 12clara/twelveclara. im glad we now use this current naming convention because we can denote it more simply but knowing how much tumblr had so many 11clara content lost to time and the amount of 12clara posts via the whouffle tag. it's understandable why this happened.

tl;dr 11clara fan is annoyed at old shippers for shipping naming convention.

I just want you all to know that this is my opinion and i'm writing a review in which i am terrible at.

(EXCLUDING THE WAR AND FUGITIVE DOCTORS)

4th Place: Thirteenth Doctor

In my opinion tho, Jodie isn't to blame but the writers are. After seeing Flux, She kinda has some character development from what I see.

3rd Place: Ninth Doctor

Overall a very underrated Doctor, from what I heard many people seem to skip Nine and it's really sad because if Eccleston had a terrible performance then the show would've been canceled.

2nd Place: Twelfth Doctor

Yeah you might hate me, but honestly tho I quite like how he changed overall in his story, in S8 he's like anti emotional and then before he regenerates he hugs his two best friends for the last time.

At first I didn't like him at the start of S8 but at the end of S8 he's starting to grew on me, when S9 came in he had this cool uncle like personality that I found funny, and when S10 came that's when he's in his like full form.

Overall my opinion on him in a nutshell: S8 was like meh, in S9 I like him in some parts (Especially Heaven Sent), and in S10 you're one of the GOATs

1st Place: Tenth and Eleventh Doctors

To those who know about this account and this user, you already know about it.

To put it simply they're the Doctors that made me love Doctor Who. Smith introduced me since I watched him previously in The Crown, and Tennant made me love the show even more.

For Tenth, he's a practically a balanced guy, you did something wrong then you DID do something wrong, his love for pretty much everything, his personality, and his story arc.

He is the Time Lord Victorious.

For Eleventh, he's the emotional relief that the show needed after the overall drama of 10th's story arc, his child-like personality, he's like 10 without the romantic side, He really is a madman with a box.

So there it is, my terrible review/ranking of the New Who Doctors (excluding the War and Fugitive Doctors).

Again to clarify, this is overall my opinion.

People don't talk enough about how fascinating Elevenclara were. Like on the surface they seem like a very cutesy couple, they're sort of in the 'honeymoon phase'. But really the doctor sees clara like a puzzle to be solved, their relationship, as much as I love it, is actually a little fucked up.

Even one of the most popular "whouffle quotes" is a sign of this, "you are the only mystery worth solving". Clara thinks the doctor just asked her to come along because he liked her, and that's not entirely false, but its clear the main drive for him in series 7 is finding out who she is.

Meanwhile we also see the start of clara trying to prove herself to the doctor, putting herself in danger for him and taking charge when he is unable to. This obviously continues a lot in series 8-9, this is what I see people talk about as "doctorification".

But what's also interesting to me is that in series 7, the doctor seems to be Clara's only friend. The only other people we see her interact with outside of adventures is the kids she's nannying, and even they end up getting into trouble bc of the doctor. It creates an interesting dynamic where it seems like both their lives revolve around each other, and neither is trying to change that, in fact they're both driving it harder.
