Dancing With The Devil is my first interactive fiction, but it’s not my main story. It’s what I hope will be a stress reliever for when working on my other stories become a bit too much. I hope to have the intro post out for at least one of them soon! Content Warning is at the end of the post, check it out before interacting/reading. 18+

Twelve years ago you and your band mates were at the height of your careers. Being on the cover of every magazine and headlining the biggest shows, and attending the grandest galas and parties were only some of the perks of being on top of the music world. You were born to be in the spotlight, and boy was it good to be treated and feel better than everyone else.

But life in the spotlight faded pretty fast. Now it’s been six years since you’ve disbanded and your life hasn’t been the same. No more shows, no more getting recognized every time you go out, and no more special treatment. Suddenly, you were no one and compared to how you were living then, well your life is shit.

And honestly? You’d do anything to have the amount of success again. Anything.

Unfortunately for you, a mysterious being approaches you with a deal of a lifetime. The celebrity lifestyle, the success, and the money? You could experience it all again for just one measly price: your service.

And when they call for you to do their bidding, you’d better be ready.

Get ready for one hell of a ride, rockstar.

Choices shape your route. Do you want to embrace your new dark side or is it all too much for you? Both possible routes comes with their own pros and cons.

The choices you make can also put you and your band mates in some hot ass water (literally), but let’s be honest, you guys probably deserve it!

Ava Leveux, F, She/Her, 36, Lead Singer

One of your closest friends still and really the only one you talk to after the band’s split. She’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, and between all of you, the one with the most common sense. Which is why she’s very reluctant to go along with the entire “deal” in the first place.

Daniel Mercer, M, He/Him, 35, Bassist

Despite the fact that he’s not actually as talented as the other members of the band, he definitely has the biggest ego out of everyone. Add the fact that he can be quite hot headed, and he becomes one of the most annoying people on the planet. He didn’t really end on the best of terms with the rest of you after the band split, but because he’s just as desperate for attention as the rest of you, he’s back.

Farrow Marsone, NB, They/Them, 39, Manager

Your no-nonsense manager. Not here for this shit honestly. They’re the first and pretty much only one to explicitly tell you that this entire deal is shady, and will come back to bite you in the ass. However after some thinking, they begin to realize that they’ve been out of work for years and your success is their success.

Hannah Landoni, F, She/Her, 35, Guitarist

Though the success isn’t much, she’s the so called “breakout star” of the band. After the split, she’s the only one who’s made bit of a name for herself and at least a little bit known nowadays. Was very quick to distance herself from the rest of you once she rebranded. Once she heard about your plan, she really wasn’t on board with it, but even she can’t ignore the fact that the bit of spotlight that she does have is fading fast.

Ronin Sawyer, He/They, 33, Drummer

One chaotic little shit, and can be quite too much for some people. Constantly giving out himbo energy, and a bit clueless about what’s going on, but once they figure it out they’re all in for it. It’s reckless, impulsive, and it’s sure to cause a lot of chaos. How the hell could they say no to this?

Dancing with the Devil is an 18+ horror themed interactive fiction with a hint of dark comedy. The story will feature strong language, consumption of alcohol, implied drug use, violence, mildly gruesome scenes, optional sexual explicit scenes, hints of manipulation, blood, and dark themes. The One who Cried Wolf is an interactive fiction game inspired by supernatural shows, such as Teen Wolf and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Twilight and the Vampire Diaries. You play as a college student living in the fictional town of Hidden Oaks. On a school night your best friend convinces you to follow them to the woods in search of their missing sister Sasha. The next day you end up waking up in a hospital bed only to find out you've turned into a werewolf after being bitten by the alpha wolf that was chasing after you in the woods. You are thrown into the world of the supernatural and as such you must balance your university and personal life, all the whilst navigating and adjusting to your newfound life as a werewolf.

Blake/Briar Prescott || Species: Human || M/F

B is the detective's oldest child and your best friend since middle school. They have been with you through thick and thin, and the most loyal friend you could have ever asked for who would do absolutely anything to protect you and keep you safe. Eager to follow in their mother's footsteps B is a criminology major with a huge knack for mysteries. They are quick-witted, sarcastic and likes to think that they're absolutely hilarious.

Caoilainn O'Reardon || Species: Banshee || NB

Caoilainn is the mayor's youngest child as well as your roommate. Although they have recently estranged themselves from their parents, due to their father's current position they are one of the most popular people in University. They study the same major as you and is fed up of people's bullshit, including your own and don't want anything to do with you or any of the supernatural world for that matter. They are cold and withdrawn, but also very creative and hopes to one day find themselves within their own individuality.

Perth/Prim Sisuwan || Species: Vampire || M/F

P is your old childhood rival; the both of you went to the same middle school and high school together. They left to attend the second half of high school in Chiang Miai and you haven't seen them ever since. They're now attending the same university as you as an international relations major with a minor in whatever course that you choose to study. You've noticed that they haven't lost their competitive streak or their cocky arrogance, but something about them feels different.

Amari Müler-Vosbein || Species: Human || NB

Amari is the new person in town. Rumour has it that xir parents are weapon specialists that work for the HOPD, but no one really knows or has dared to ask. Xe is in the year above you and has transferred from xir home university in the Netherlands to xir second year as a teaching major with a minor in educational psychology at your university. Xe is a genuinely kind person whose charm and charisma draws those around xem like a moth to a flame.

Malakai/Morgan Lavigne || Species: Werewolf || M/F

M is the owner of a local downtown family-owned café . They went to the same high school as you but decided to drop out shortly after the death of their parents. They now run their family's cafe along with their grandmother. They are easygoing and highly flirtatious, however those stormy eyes of theirs hold secrets beyond your wildest imagination.

You’re the star of one of the biggest TV Shows to grace the pixelated screens of the world in a long time. A series set in your own world but an alternate one; so familiar yet alien.

Your character is one of the Afflicted; beings that have visions of what is to come, all muddled during sleep, only the sense of foreboding remaining. They can’t stand you when the cameras aren’t rolling. Something that becomes that much harder to deal with after every dream ends. How can you look them in the eyes that are filled with nothing when just hours before they had been filled with complete adoration?

A woman that might have a serious migraine, or worse, if you don’t start getting your act together. While she may appear cold to some you know that Amelia has your best interests at heart. You were her first, and most treasured, client. You just hope that when you need her most she’ll pull through. Like she always has in the past for you.

-The Writer-

Who better to help you then the man who has made the very lore of the world you’re going to? Kaidan is one of the people that can help you make sense of what is happening to you. His warm personality and kind smile doing little to detract from that sentiment. You just hope that he actually believes you. Though you wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t.

-The Villain-

The antagonist of the show that is as deadly as they are beautiful. With a sinister smile and a dark past they’ve fostered quite the following; especially when in comparison to the sunny person that plays them. Someone who would give you the shirt off their back if you asked. A fact that makes it that much harder to connect who you’re used to dealing with, with the character that they play. A character that has become all too real. May become an RO later on.

-The Producer-

One of the Executive Producers, who also happens to be your mother, and always makes sure that everything is in order. While she may appear to be aloof on the outside she can be quite caring; especially when in regards to you. Though she’s never been one to give you anything in your career. You had to work for your lead role in the show. Something you’d forever be grateful for.

Angelina Callaway, 40 (F)

-The Director-

One of the best directors in the game; your show was lucky to be able to get her. And while you’ve never been the closest with her, you can tell that she cares greatly for every single person on the set. Unless someone is shirking their duties (then it’d be best to get out of sight). Maybe she’ll offer some guidance in your time of need. Even if she doesn’t know what exactly she’s helping you with.

-The Protection-

The resident guard dogs on set, always there because of your head-of-security, that offer companionship to all those that need it; as long as they get belly rubs out of the deal. You’ll always be safe with these two watching your back.

You had only heard stories about the fabled assault on the Silver City; an assault that had been carried out by one of the most trusted Archangels. One that had been ended after years of battle— of bloodshed— and ended in the banishment of all those that supported the usurper. You never imagined that you’d ever come face-to-face with the very being that caused it all.

That is until you’re given a task that not many had been given before…

Travel down to the land of humans— Earth— and wrangle in the aforementioned individual; a task that was passed down to you from the very siblings that had been betrayed.

You just weren’t expecting all the issues that would arise because of this task. With what the human world had to offer you when in comparison to the Silver City.

You also weren’t expecting to be pulled into a conspiracy, a criminal investigation, and the issues that humans seem to face everyday.

(This game will be free from start to finish as it takes inspiration from one of my favorite shows Lucifer… though it’s my own interpretation of Luci.) The Demo will be added at a later date.

Play as an Angel sent down from the Silver City to wrangle in the Ruler of Hell; possibly becoming a babysitter in the process.

The Devil

Lucifer Morningstar is one of the hottest names in Los Angeles. The influence they have over the city being undeniable— even if you’ve never stepped foot in it before— and you can understand why upon stepping into their night club. Sharp blue eyes, ethereal blonde hair, and lightly tanned skin screams of divinity. If it wasn’t for the flash of red you could see lurking within the crystal depths of their eyes; showcasing what they truly were beneath their flirtatious smile, quick wit, and charm. Fallen.

“You’re quite miraculous, darling, I’ve been able to see peoples desires— their innermost machinations— but I’ve never felt such things before. As I’ve always been one to take what I want but I desire you in all the best ways. And I’ll take my time to show you that.”

The Angel

The one that gave you the job to begin with; Gabriel is unlike their siblings. In that their joyous smile never waned when looking at someone outside of the Archangel members. Bright green eyes, raven black hair, and fair skin pull everyone’s attention towards them but they’ve always seemed to have a special interest in you. Their warmest smile, silliest jokes, and loudest laughs all directed towards you. You’ve just never understood why. Until now.

“I’ve always known that you were special. That you would either destroy or rebuild me. I don’t even know how long you’ve held my heart, dearest one, but I hope you know that it’ll always be yours.”

The Demon

One of the only people you’ve seen that Lucifer actually seems to tolerate. Syrus/Selene Palmer doesn’t take shit from anyone and would sooner throw a knife at Lucifer than listen to them yammer on. The sharpness within their grey eyes— their dark brown hair always pulled from their face— highlights the bronze tone of their skin. The no nonsense attitude fading just a little the longer they spend with you.

“I was one of the people that was tasked with torturing souls— it was a job that I reveled in— but it’s one that you can grow tired of. I’ve known pain, and I’m old friends with suffering, but you make all of that a bit easier to handle. You make me want to be better.”

The Detective

They didn’t ask to be pulled into celestial nonsense— not that they were fully aware— but Lucifer wouldn’t take no for an answer. So, unfortunately for them, they were tasked with helping you both. You couldn’t say you were exactly unhappy with the turn of events; Detective Cole/Cora Pierce being one of the most highly regarded officers within the LAPD. Intelligent hazel eyes, going well with the medium brown tone of their skin, always surveying the area. Ebony curls falling over their eyes as they force themselves not to roll them as Lucifer speaks. (Has a son named Theodore.)

“Where have you been all my life? I’ve been looking for you in every person that I’ve dated and never found you. It’s like you fell from the stars and ended up in my lap. I can’t believe how lucky I am to have you.”

The Doctor

The soft spoken, yet kindhearted, medical examiner for the LAPD. Doctor Nathan/Natasha Grey aren’t exactly what you’re expecting when stepping foot into the morgue for the first time, but you can’t say it’s all that bad. Light brown eyes, that sparkle with flecks of gold, allows their dark auburn hair to stand out. Olive toned skin shimmering gently underneath the lights. A timid, yet warm, smile quirking their lips.

“People scare me. I’m not used to speaking to them, being near them, which is why I stay down here. I don’t know how to interact with people that well but you make it easier. You’ve always made it easier.”

Cherry Soda is an in-progress interactive fiction novel about loss, relationships, and the meaning of destiny.

Anastasia

The Slayer that came before you. An individual that doesn’t back down from a fight and has a spirit has fiery at the pits of hell. She doesn’t know when to quit and refuses to back down from a fight when it concerns the people she cares for. The only problem? She was supposed to be dead.

Appearance: Anastasia stands at around 6’0” with electric blue eyes and raven black hair. Her lightly tanned skin stands out against the usual black leather that she wears. Her athletic body honed from years of training/fighting. (Her hair falls to just over her shoulder blades in soft waves.)

Oliver

One of the first people that you meet upon your entrance to Solaris High School. With a goofy demeanor, laid back attitude, and penchant to shove his own foot in his mouth, Oliver is definitely an oddball but you couldn’t imagine life without him. Not when he’s so clearly adamant about helping you. No matter what.

Appearance: Oliver stands at around 5’8” with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. Light brown skin causes the gold flecks within his gaze to stand out. He’s usually seen within a graphic tee, almost drowning his slender body, of some kind and his trusty bag thrown over his shoulder.

Quinn

The first person that you meet within Solaris High that actually seems to be a genuine individual. Quinn doesn’t speak much, and she’s absolutely shy, but her intelligence shines through and her genuine wish to help you. Maybe it’s because of Oliver taking a liking to you, but you weren’t about to complain about having her help.

Appearance: Quinn stands at around 5’3” with dark green eyes and dark auburn hair. Her bronze skin causes the contrast of her eyes and hair to stand out that much more. She has a slender, almost delicate , body the usually hides beneath layers of clothing. (She keeps her hair to just under her shoulders.)

Noah/Nora

The one to watch out for within the halls of Solaris High. One word from their lips can either mean life or death for a person’s social standing. With an arrogant smile, haughty attitude, and complete lack of social awareness when it comes to their bluntness, you don’t know why you feel drawn to them, but you’re going to figure it out. Maybe even discovering something more along the way…

Appearance: They stand at around 5’11” with hazel eyes and light brown, almost golden brown, hair. Bronze skin standing out against the expensive brands that they tend to wear. You can’t look anything except your best after all. (Noah keeps his hair short and Nora keeps her hair to just over her shoulders.)

Cassius/Celeste

The mysterious stranger that you swear you’ve met before, but can’t quite place. Though you feel like you’d remember someone with their soft spoken demeanor and tendency to sink back into the shadows at a whim. You’re not sure why, but seeing them again brings a memory to the surface of your mind but it’s too far for you to grasp. Will you be able to discover what the stranger means to you? And what they’re hiding?

Appearance: They stand at around 6’3” with steel gray eyes and onyx black hair. Their olive toned skin has turned pallid, but you can’t truly understand why. They have an athletic build but not one that you’d consider bulky. (Cassius keeps his hair just above his ears and Celeste keeps her to her shoulder blades.)

Lucian/Lucia

Where C is soft spoken and mainly keeps to themself, L is anything else. They made it known, when entering Solaris, what they were and that it was you they were after— even if you weren’t exactly sure if they wanted to kill you or not. With a brazen attitude, tendency to flirt no matter the moment, and general suaveness, they were certainly one you couldn’t miss.

Appearance: They stand at around 6’5” with ice blue eyes and golden white hair. Pale skin standing out against the dark colors they tend to favor; really living up to the vampire stereotype. They have a lithe build that has power strewn across it. (Lucian keeps his short and Lucia keeps hers to the middle of her back.)
