I'm probably not going to keep posting this much usually, but I'm bored whilst watching my friends play Cards against Humanity in a public park.

Anyway, Ford's alien fish husband is called Nimirylov which in the alien fish language means "perfect current". Their ship name NimFord then it just means "perfect Ford" which is hilarious.

Bonus: Their daughter is called Penni which less directly translates to "brain perfect". So Ford named his child something that basically means smart which feels very in character for him.

Just want everyone to know that Nimirylov does not know that Ford's actual name is Stanford. Ford just introduced himself as Ford when they first met and just... never mentioned his technically real name.

This is such an important thing to talk about. I'm British, but because of my obsession with history, I've never liked England, even hated it at points in my life.

I will say that that's an important distinction to make. The British Empire was mostly because of England. Wales was taken over by England for so long, and Scotland never got along with England.

The British Empire is not something to glorify at all.

I think a LOT of the political issues faced by the UK today come from a sense of wanting to get back to “the glory days”. We’ve kind of mythologised the time when Britain “ruled the world”, to the point that it’s a part of our very culture, to the point where it’s kind of treated on culture as our divine right.

I’m British Bengali, and I know the history of Bangladesh. I know how my people suffered under British rule. There wasn’t enough physical a price to pay, back then. Britain ruled a quarter of the world at the cost of very real human lives. They justified it by dehumanising the people they were oppressing.

yeah, the British Empire was cool, like as a concept. But the kind of hunger for international power is a rot at the core of our culture. We never should have ruled over so many, we shouldn’t have imposed ourselves and our values on other cultures. The idea that ANYONE has that right is a problem for any just society.

Most powerful politicians, at least subconsciously, believe that. I actually think most brits believe it, though by no fault of their own. But that belief is leading to more suffering for the people in the country. We have all these politicians more focused on sucking up to America than making any meaningful change.

it’s all a pathetic play for power. If the government were more focused on making lives better for brits than trying to be seen as the empire it once was, we would be in a MUCH Better position. The right are so obsessed with “British culture”, when they’re the ones KILLING the culture in the name of GDP.

Mabel having six fingers is one of my favourite aus. I mean, I love any au centred on Mabel, and I love any parallels between Mabel and Ford, so it's not surprising but I just love it.

Dipper Pines is knelt down on the forest floor after finding journal 3 in a hole. He has a look of wonder on his face.

Dipper is in the foreground, a mushroom-speckled log sat just behind him. There are pine trees in the background.

The image is in greyscale.
Dipper is discovered and jump-scared by Mabel Pines, appearing from behind the log and greeting him enthusiastically.

Mabel: Yoooooo!! Dip-dop, whatcha find!?

Dipper: Wha- aAAAA

Mabel's sweater sleeves are longer than in canon, enough to cover up her hands, and the shooting star on the front has six points instead of five.

The image is in greyscale, aside for Mabel and Dipper's speech bubbles, which are pink and blue respectively.
Dipper jumps to his feet, seemingly very excited to show the journal. Mabel, herself, just looks amused.

The angle has changed: both twins are in the foreground, Dipper to the left and Mabel to the right, the log lies between them. There are still pine trees in the background.

Dipper: -AAA!! Mabel!

Mabel: Yeah??

Dipper: You have to see this!!

Mabel: Okay :)

The image is in greyscale, aside for Mabel and Dipper's speech bubbles, which are pink and blue respectively.
Dipper is holding the journal open to the floating eyeballs and giant vampire bats page (though I drew it in a way so that the writing is recognisable but illegible). Dipper looks very happy. Mabel looks happy that Dipper's happy.

The angle has changed: Mabel is facing away from the "camera" in the foreground with Dipper stood in front of her and the log lying just in view between them. There are still pine trees in the background, though one of them has an open compartment.

Dipper: It's this journal! It basically confirms all of my theories about this place! But that's not all!

The image is in greyscale, aside for Dipper's speech bubbles, which are blue.
Dipper flips the journal closed to show Mabel the cover. Dipper looks more serious now while Mabel looks attentively interested.

The angle has changed: Dipper is facing away from the "camera" in the foreground with Mabel stood in front of him and the log lying just in view between them. There are still pine trees in the background.

Dipper: Look at the front cover!!

Mabel: Ooo, shiny

Dipper: No, Mabel, really look

The image is in greyscale, aside for Mabel and Dipper's speech bubbles, which are pink and blue respectively.
A close-up of Mabel's nonplussed, wide-eyed face.

The background has lost all its details, becoming a simple, textured expanse.

Mabel: ...

The image is in greyscale.
A close-up of Mabel's now squinting and thoughtful face.

Mabel: Wait...

The image is in greyscale, aside for Mabel's speech bubble, which is pink. However, it (the entire image, not just the speech bubble) has gained the smallest hint of a pink tinge.
A close-up of Mabel's left arm reaching forward, her hand still covered up by her too long sleeve.

The image is in greyscale (but not really (the pink tinge has grown)).
Mabel's too-long sleeve has pulled back to reveal her six-fingered hand.

The reveal also brought some partial colour to the image, emanating from Mabel's hand, which, along with her sleeve are the same colours as in canon. Also, her nails are painted red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. There is a partially transparent, pink, six-pointed star behind her hand, with an even more faded, yellow, six-pointed star behind that.
Mabel places hand against the golden, foil one on the journal in some awed facsimile of a high-six.

The angle is from Mabel's POV.

Mabel's hand and sleeve are still partially coloured in, as are the journal and Dipper. Whose hands and torso can be seen around the edges of the journal. The colours are emanating from where Mabel's hand is making contact. There are six, slightly faded, pink points in the background, and six, sketchy, yellow lightning bolts in the foreground. Accompanied by a scattering of sketchy, pale pink, five-point stars.
Mabel continues to press her hand against the journal, her amazed expression now visible.

The angle has changed: It's moved to the side again, with Dipper on the left, Mabel on the right, leaning on and over the log lying between them.

Mabel, Dipper, and journal are all partially coloured in, with the colours emenating from where Mabel's hand is making contact. The log has taken on a selection of muted pinks and speckles. There are six, slightly faded, pink points in the background, and six, sketchy, yellow lightning bolts in the foreground. Accompanied by a scattering of sketchy, pale pink, five-point stars.
Dipper speaks and snaps Mabel from her trance as she whips her hand away from the journal.

The pine trees have reappeared in the background.

Dipper: I think...

The image has been sapped back to greyscale, aside from Dipper's speech bubble, which is blue.
Dipper holds the journal as he nervously talks about the author.

The angle has changed: it is once again Mabel's POV as she focuses on the journal in Dipper's hands. There are still pine trees in the background, one of which has an open hatch. The hole Dipper found the journal in is also visible.

Dipper: whoever wrote this journal, whoever it belonged to, they...

The image is in greyscale, aside for Dipper's speech bubbles, which are blue.
Dipper continues to speak about the author, though he looks slightly less nerous and more hopeful.

The angle is still Mabel's POV, but her focus has moved from the journal up to Dipper's face. There are still pine trees in the background, including the one with the open hatch.

Dipper: I think they must've been like you!

The image is in greyscale, aside for Dipper's speech bubbles, which are blue.
Mabel looks mildly astonished, her hand once again hidden in her sleeve but still held out slightly aloft.

The angle has changed: it is now Dipper's POV as he takes in Mabel's reaction to his words. There are still pine trees in the background.

The image is in greyscale.
Mabel's expression has morphed into an adoring smile, her sleeve-covered hands clasped together.

The image is in greyscale.
Mabel and Dipper smile and talk happily.

The angle has changed: it's from the side again, with Dipper to the left, Mabel to the right, and the log lying between them. There are still pine trees in the background.

Mabel: Wow! That's so cool, Dipper!! What do you-

Their speech then devolves into unintelligible squiggles and symbols as the comic comes to a close.

The image is in greyscale, aside for Mabel and Dipper's speech bubbles, which are pink and blue respectively.

...and then they were attacked by gnomes lol

This is what cleverly entitled "Six-point comic" (AKA Dipper discovering journal 3 in a universe where Mabel also has polydactyly)

The inspiration was this over on Ao3 by @wickerss-s (hope you don't mind being @'d)

Bonus:

Mabel and Dipper animatedly look at and talk about the journal, smiling and cheering and the like.

Mabel's sleeves are longer than in canon and the shooting star on her sweater has six points. Dipper is wearing his baseball cap from the pilot, the one with the star instead of the pine tree.

The image is in full colour. There is a partially transparent, pink, six-pointed star and nine, sketchy, yellow lightning bolts in the background. Accompanied by a scattering of sketchy, pale pink, five-point stars.

Just write it yourself but put random nonsense in it that's obviously wrong. Say that's just the fault of the ai, and if they want the work correct, then you can't use ai.

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted

their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"

"Every writer"?

come on

Help. I was trying to do incorrect quotes for Mabel, Dipper, and Penni, but Penni just keeps getting called some variant of a hoe. Why does the generator (and Mabel and Dipper in the generator) think that about her? What is this telling me?!

I've changed my avatar to Doodle Penni because I think she's adorable. Everyone who knows of my account previously, do not be surprised by the change. It's been coming for a long time. I really needed to be done with the base avatar.

Finally time for my mythological knowledge to come in handy.

The Echidna being referred to here, is the mother of monsters from Greek Mythology not the anteater. She's not the mother of all monsters but enough of them to earn the title mother of monsters.

spin this wheel

you're now this mythical creature, congrats!
