Tex McCormick x Fem! Reader
Plot: You are best friends with Johnny and Tex, but your dad doesn’t like it.
You walked into the school, gripping your books tightly, headed towards your class.
When you walked in, you noticed it was just a few students, you must have been early.
“Hey Y/n! Come sit with us!” Tex said, making a small scene as he pulled a chair in between Johnny and him.
You rolled your eyes at your joyful friend, not understanding how he could be so happy-go-lucky this early in the morning.
You sat down in your chair next to him and Johnny.
“Alright cut it out now, I'm not in the mood to be babysitting today.” You said, messing up Tex’s hair.
“Hey! Stop it! I took a shower this morning and my hair looks great.” He said.
“Y/n, you look different.” Johnny announced to you.
“What do you mean?”
“Y/n are you wearing makeup?” Tex asked quietly, Johnny and him trying not to laugh.
You huffed, leaning back in your chair.
“Yeah, so what? I know it’s girly, but whatever. It ain’t that big of a deal.” You said, crossing your arms.
“That's the first time since I've known you that I've ever seen you so dolled up.” Johnny said, playfully punching your arm.
You put your head down, not wanting to show your face.
You planned on doing something different today but you were starting to regret it terribly.
“Hey, man. We ain’t sayin’ it looks bad. It looks great y/n.” Tex said, rubbing your back gently.
“Come on, Y/n. Will you pwease be my fwiend again?” He said in a baby voice, playfully getting next to your ear.
God you couldn’t stand when he did that.
“Ew okay okay. Happy?” You said as you lifted your head up, laughing.
“Gets you every time.” He smiled in victory.
It was the last period and yall had 5 minutes until the bell rang.
“Hey, Y/n.” Tex whispered.
You looked at him, trying not to get in trouble.
“What, Tex.” You whispered so the teacher wouldn’t yell at ya’ll.
“Wanna go swimming at the lake with Johnny when we get out of here?” He asked with a hopeful smile that you just couldn’t say no to.
“Yeah sure. Now shut up so we don't get in trouble.” You smiled.
Yall started walking out of the school, seeing your parents' car.
“Hold up guys, I have to tell my parents.” You said, not really looking forward to your dad’s bickering.
You walked over to the car, your mom rolling down the window.
“Hey mom. I'm gonna be walking with Texas and Johnny today, they wanted to go swimming at the lake. Is that alright?” You asked hesitantly.
Before your mom could say anything, your dad was already on your tail.
“I told you I don't want you hanging around with those boys, you’re gonna get hurt.”
“Oh don't be silly, frank. Look at Texas. That boy is chasing a butterfly as we speak.” Your mother scolded your father. Your mother has known his family since Mace was 14 and Tex was 10. She’s the one that encouraged you two to talk.
You looked over your shoulder, and it was true. He indeed was chasing a pink butterfly, trying to catch it before Johnny.
“No! I’m gonna catch it first!” He said, blocking the butterfly from Johnny.
You smiled at them.
“Please Dad? They really are nice. You just haven’t talked to them a lot.” You said, begging your dad.
He sighed, which was usually a good sign.
“Be back by 9 and if there’s an emergency you call.” He said, pointing a finger to the boys, signaling them to come to the car.
They nervously walked towards you.
“If I hear any bad news from my daughter about y'all. Y'all won’t live to see another day, understand?” He said sternly.
“Yes sir. And hi Mrs. L/n” Tex nodded before waving at your mother, along with Johnny.
“Hi Texas, you boys come over this weekend and we can go to the beach or y'all can go horse riding with my daughter when she goes down the trail.” She smiled.
You smiled, mouthing ‘thank you’ to your dad before grabbing your bag from Tex and walking with them.
“Any luck on the butterfly?” You said smirking at Tex.
“No, it was too fast.” He frowned.
You laughed, nudging his arm before running to the lake, the boys following you.
