2.02 / my reading list is growing exponentially and now I'm playing catch up with it
day 1: what classes are you taking this semester and which are you most excited for?
I am taking 18 credits this semester split up between six classes. on mondays and wednesdays I only have one class which is digital imaging which is basically just photography. I am also helping out with the tv news class this semester.
on tuesdays and thursdays I have reporting and news writing as well as intro to video production. also I have a once a week class on tuesdays which is called journalism in film that's two and a half hours.
along with my in-person classes I am taking two asynchronous classes which are nutrition and intro to sociology. I am horrible with online classes so let's hope that I do okay in these this semester.
on top of all these I am in a sorority where I am the membership and recruitment director, I am a writer for my school's newspaper, I am a secretary for another club, and I'm trying to gauge interest for another one.
I am definitely excited for journalism in film we'll basically just be watching a bunch of movies together. I am also very excited for nutrition as it has been something I have always been interested in. Intro to video production is another one that I'm really looking forward to, because I love working with video and we get to produce variety shows at the end of it. the last one I'm excited for is sociology because I think I am going to love my professor. I think this just goes to show that I am really excited for this semester.
currently reading: hygge unlock the danish art of coziness and happiness - barbara hayden

here's the first two weeks of the challenge. since i have not finished writing it.
day 1: what classes are you taking this semester and which are you most excited for?
day 2: how many books do you want to read this semester?
day 3: what was your favorite thing you did this summer?
day 4: what are you studying in school? if you work, what do you do?
day 5: what is your favorite food to eat when youโre not at school?
day 6: what are you most excited for this semester?
day 7: how do you keep yourself organized?
day 8: week two check in
my favorite weather is easily either a super stormy night or a colder, windy day that's still sunny. i love having my window open in the winter and being able to feel the wind.
my goal for this year is i think 20? i want to hit around that point, and i'm gonna try for 5 during the semester. i think that will allow for an achievable goal, while still focusing on my school work.
the market in between towers or the den. i get a popcorn chicken sub with pepperjack and mayo, honey mustard (the best condiment imo), lettuce, onion, and pickle. and then i go to the den and get an oreo milkshake made with strawberry ice cream. best combo. just off of campus is a really good pho place that i like though.
easily going to the gym. i've been having so much fun creating workouts and i've been able to see myself getting stronger and its such a nice feeling.
sotd: magic - b.o.b and rivers cuomo
currently reading: devil may care - samantha rue and angel lawson
okay so this challenge completely slipped my mind yesterday and so i'm starting it today and i'm just going to do day one and two today.
i mostly hope to keep myself accountable for working on things and creating content. i also have a lot of things this semester, so i want something i can do daily to wind down and reflect on my day.
so i am majoring in media production with a radio/television production and management emphasis and minoring in communication studies, marketing, and esports management. i will also maybe pick up another major, but i am not sure what that will be yet (either multimedia journalism or something related).
i'm taking 16 credit hours this semester, which didn't feel like a lot when i signed up for the classes but now that i've made it through the syllabus days i think its so much. i am also working on our esports broadcasts (likely 3 days a week, but i'm not 100% sure yet), directing our news show, and hosting a 3 hour dj show in the morning as a requirement for one of my classes.
so i am taking:
media design
intro to audio production
media toolkit
esports business management
english 101p
anyway i am hopeful for this challenge and maybe i'll see some other people doing it!
the book i'm reading right now is love on the brain - ali hazelwood
today's song of the day is nobody move, nobody get hurt - we are scientists
today was an upper body workout day! i pushed myself a bit too hard all at once and felt a little sick afterwards.
okay so i'm going to try this for the first time. i made this so that i have one prompt for every day i'm in classes. i intend to stick with it, but i'll do my best. you also don't need to do this in the spring, there's nothing actually tying it to spring.
i'm really just making this for me (and anyone else who'd like to do it) to kind of take a break at the end of the day.
i also really want to get into creating content, so i am hoping this is a way to kind of ease into it.
if you do the challenge, use the tag #spring sem study challenge so i can see your posts.
this challenge will run from january to april for me
that being said, i wrote prompts for each day that i have classes for the spring semester. there's 60 prompts total, with a check point on day 30. that way if you want a shorter challenge you can have one.
i don't expect everyone to be able to post every day, so you can post catch-ups or answer in batches. i will be trying my best to post daily, but will likely end up needing to do catch-ups.
also i'll be adding a song of the day as well as what book i'm currently reading. i might include my workout for the day but who knows.
if you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask!
day one: what do you hope to accomplish by doing this challenge?

please stop putting pressure on yourself to do work! please stop telling yourself that if youโre not working or if you have this little in-between pocket of time like moving from one location to another you should be spending that time doing something mildly productive or stimulating like listening to a self-help podcast. you are allowed to melt on your phone! you are allowed to just lie down and stare at the wall! you are allowed to exist in a way that is easy for you even when you could be doing 50,000 other things. there is a difference between being motivated and energised to complete work and dragging yourself from task to task with limited energy and capacity simply because you feel like you need to and feel bad for wanting to stand still for a moment.

Guys, I have no one to support me and I only have two months left until the exam that will determine my future, so I opened a blog, I donโt know what I will post yet but I need someone to really support me, even my family doesnโt support me, I promise you that if I receive your support and motivation I will share with you my adventures until the day I get on the plane to travel to the university of my dreams
When I first learned about enthalpy, I was shocked - it felt more like a physics lesson than a chemistry lesson. The thought of learning more about thermodynamics than my basic understanding from my many science lessons in lower school made me bored out of my mind. But enthalpy is actually pretty interesting, once you get your head around itโฆ
Reactions which release heat to their surroundings are described to be exothermic. These are reactions like combustion reactions, oxidation reactions and neutralisation reactions. Endothermic reactions take in heat from their surroundings, such as in thermal decomposition. Reversible reactions are endothermic in one direction and exothermic in the other.
These facts are important when you start to look at enthalpy. Enthalpy is basically a thermodynamic property linked to internal energy, represented by a capital H. This is pretty much the energy released in bond breaking and made in bond making. We usually measure a change in enthalpy, represented by โH.ย โH = enthalpy of the products (H1) - enthalpy of the reactants (H2). This is because we cannot measure enthalpy directly.
In exothermic reactions,ย โH is negative whereas in endothermic reactions,ย โH is positive.
โH is always measured under standard conditions of 298K and 100kPa.ย
In reversible reactions, the โH value is the same numerical value forwards and backwards but the sign is reversed. For example, in a forward exothermic reaction, theย โH value would be -ve but in the backwards reaction (endothermic) theย โH would be +ve.ย
Reaction profiles are diagrams of enthalpy levels of reactants and products in a chemical reaction. X axis is enthalpy rather than โH and the Y axis is the progress of reaction, reaction coordinate or extent of reaction. Two horizontal lines show the enthalpy of reactants and products with the reactants on the left and the products on the right. These should be labelled with their names or formulae.ย
In an endothermic reaction, product lines are higher enthalpy values than reactants. In an exothermic reaction, product lines are lower enthalpy values than reactants. The difference between product and reactant lines is labelled asย โH. Values are measured in kJ mol-1.ย
Reaction pathways are shown with lines from the reactants to the products on enthalpy level diagrams. This shows theย โjourneyโ that the enthalpy takes during a reaction. They require an input of energy to break bonds before new bonds can form the products. The activation energy is the peak of the pathway above the enthalpy of reactants. It is the minimum amount of energy that reactants must have to react.ย
Standard enthalpy values are the โH values for enthalpy changes of specific reactions measured under standard conditions, represented by โ. There are three of these:
1. Standard enthalpy of reaction ( ฮHrโ )
The enthalpy change when substances react under standard conditions in quantities given by the equation for the reaction.
2. Standard enthalpy of formation ( ฮfHโ )
The enthalpy change when 1 mole of a compound is formed from its constitutent elements with all reactants and products in standard states under standard conditions.
The enthalpy of formation for an element is zero is it is in itโs standard state for example, O2 enthalpy is zero.
3. Standard enthalpy of combustion ( ฮcHโ )
The enthalpy change when 1 mole of a substance is burned completely in excess oxygen with all reactants and products in their standard states under standard conditions.
Values for standard enthalpy of formation and combustion must be kept to per mole of what they refer.

romanticizing studying as to avoid a breakdown
I have my very last physics exam today! Iโm honestly quite excited to know that this is the end of me taking the subject. Itโs been so interesting but draining at the same time, and Iโm excited to prove myself one last time!
I was originally really scared of paper 3, but after yesterday Iโm feeling oddly confident.
Good luck to anyone else taking exams! ๐๐บ
Good morning!
To Do List:
2019 Biology Paper 1
2020 Biology Paper 1
Predicted Biology Paper 1
My biology exam is tomorrow! Iโm feeling really confident because biology is my best subject, and all the practice papers are going well! ๐คญ
Have you got any exams coming up? ๐ค
Good morning!
Iโve woken up early today. I find that waking up any time before 7 always means I have a more productive day. Whilst my days havenโt been too unproductive, they havenโt been as good as they can be, hopefully today this will finally be rectified as I feel quite good. ๐คญ
To Do List
2018 Physics Paper 2
2019 Physics Paper 2
2018 Biology Paper 1
2019 Biology Paper 1
2020 Biology Paper 1
Later today Iโm spending some time with my friends which should be really lovely. ๐
Also, Iโm planning on writing some tips on how to do well in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as I feel now Iโm doing quite good at them. I hope that incoming posts are useful! ๐
Have a wonderful day! ๐ซถ๐ป๐ค
If Iโm honest, Iโm really struggling to find motivation. I donโt know why, Iโm just not doing well. Iโve been feeling so distant and tired (if anyone maybe has an idea why please say). Today, Iโm going to try to change that.
The quote above is really useful when I need motivation, as it reminds me starting and making any progress is still getting me to my goals.
Here is a list of things I would like to get done:
A-level Physics Specimen Paper 2
A-level Physics 2017 Paper 2
A-level Physics 2018 Paper 2
A-level Biology 2017 Paper 1
A-level Biology 2018 Paper 1
Obviously, this is quite a lot, but as long as I get ~3 done Iโll be happy.
Iโm going to go get some breakfast, and Iโll update later on how Iโm getting on. Wish me luck!
I can't go back and change the beginning, but I can start from here and change the ending.

Donโt lower your standards. Increase the effort.
It was a rainy day... I love days like this. I only had a 50 minute class but I stayed a little longer finishing my pending tasks... I returned home and now I'm moving forward, I hope to finish everything on time.
I have a little math test tomorrow, it will only be two questions.
I have to finish my lab reports.
I started university a few weeks ago, it was a great experience. I am adapting to this change. Next week the practical exams for all the courses begin. I feel terrified and at the same time I have a strange feeling.
