peter maximoff lives at home with his mother because his mother isn’t exactly great at taking care of his little sister. he knows he’s not the prime candidate for renting or even owning his own place — his mom still does his laundry, he can barely take care of himself, and being a kleptomaniac doesn't help paying the bills unless you know a fence — which peter doesn't. but whenever he thinks about moving out, it’s always the wellbeing of his little sister that stops him from doing so. yeah, he could have friends and the people that he’s come to see as family surrounding him if he moved into the x-mansion, but who would make sure his little sister doesn’t turn out like him? whether it’s keeping her away from his mother’s second-hand smoke, making sure she brushes her teeth or does her homework, peter doesn’t want his absence to be the reason his little sister’s life goes rapidly downhill.
