I’m not Jewish but that doesn’t mean it’s not an issue. I can’t believe this is the first I’m hearing about it wtf.

Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.

Flag for the Jewish Diaspora — 2025

Flag For The Jewish Diaspora — 2025

Disclaimer: This flag is not meant to be provocative or as a partisan statement on the current situation in Palestine-Israel or the activism that surrounds it. I made this flag for a much more personal reason, that being that I do not feel that the flag of Israel adequately represents me as a Jew. As much as I appreciate the idea of the flag being viewed by some as a "Flag for the Jews" I personally look at the Israeli flag as just that, a flag for the state of Israel.

I was born in Canada and have lived here all my life. I'm very happy with my life in Canada and with Canadian culture. But Israel, from what l've seen and heard, is a completely foreign land to me, both culturally and politically, I understand that the land itself is very culturally significant to the Jewish people, and I very much respect that, but even then, I feel a much more spiritual connection to the biblical Israel of ancient times than I do of the modern state. And finally, the political climate of the state of Israel has made its flag a most contentious symbol, and the harsh politicization of its image is unfortunately too much of a factor in its usage for me to feel comfortable calling it my own.

In short: The flag of Israel carries far too much baggage, both culturally and politically, for me to want to adopt it as a flag for myself being a Jew who is comfortable where she is. I don't feel that it adequately represents my identity, it is almost completely foreign to me, I've seen some Jews that feel the same way as me, and so that is the reason why l've created this Diaspora Flag.

Description: The flag features four colours, red, yellow, green, and dark blue. In the foreground of the flag is its centrepiece, the blade of a plowshare with the ten commandments sitting behind it, on the commandments are the first ten letters of the Hebrew Alef-Bet.

The design of the centrepiece is lifted from the historical diaspora movement "Am Olam" who's representative symbol was that of a plow and the ten commandments. The plow in this context represents the desire to build a safe and prosperous Jewish home in the diaspora, while the ten commandments represent the Jewish people as well as our Torah, which is the founding document and core of our people and our tradition.

The flag's background depicts a green field and a red sky with seven beams of yellow sunlight emitting from behind the centrepiece.

The green represents the hope that the lands we inhabit will be rich and providing for everyone, and the red sky represents dawn, in the hope that one day the sun may rise on a land where all people are equal and no one is subjugated or pushed out for their race, ethnicity, religion, etc. the seven beams of the sun also represent the seven branches of the Temple Menorah, which is a nod to Jerusalem, a place that still holds a major significance to the Jewish people and our tradition. No matter where we now choose to live, we shall always remember and hold with reverence the land from which our tradition came.

Golem: a queer Jewish individual who defines themselves as protective, defensive, supportive, helpful and/or have a tall, chubby, fat, an imposant body type/shape in any other way.

Everything in the design are in reference to the clay that golems are composed of.

Wanted to make a Jewish exclusive presentation label because I haven't seen any yet. I want to do more of those, inspired from creatures of the Jewish folklore! I don't have any idea yet, feel free to suggest anything. :)

Under cut separated parts of flag.

the golem symbol isolated, on a transparent background.

one of my absolute favorite conversations i have with random gentiles goes like this:

me: i face a lot of harassment and weirdness when i wear a kippah and star of david in public.

gentile: ok but u could just not wear them.

me: i mean yeah but i do.

gentile: but u could just not wear them and then ppl wouldn’t harass u and be weird to u.

me: yeah maybe but i do wear them.

gentile: but u have the option not to.

me: correct. but i choose the option to wear them.

gentile: but if u didn’t wear them then no one would know.

me: sure. but i do wear them.

and it goes round and round and round in a circle for like 20 minutes bc goyim cannot comprehend why i would not want to just shut up and assimilate.

anyway here’s ur reminder that telling ppl who are being oppressed or discriminated against to just hide whatever it is that people are targeting them for is contributing to said oppression and discrimination. forced assimilation is violence, and telling people “just don’t do/wear/say x thing that’s a core part of your identity” makes you complicit in that violence, if not actively a part of it.

I can remember, a few years back, getting in a taxi with my grandfather in New York City. He’s one of the kindest, most courteous to strangers people I’ve ever known and was able to establish a good rapport with the taxi driver until the taxi driver put his subtly Jewish name and face together and started blasting a radio channel saying that “all Jews are donkeys”. Even then, even in New York City, you could turn your head and there was antisemitism.

In middle school, I had been spat at and called slurs—but only after I told the other students that I was a Jew. My father’s Scottish surname and ambiguous appearance give me the option of invisibility. I’ve never chosen to hide who I am, but it’s also not immediately obvious, and that made a difference even before the current horrific spike in antisemitism.

Non-Jews, yes, it really is a serious problem. It really should go without saying at this point. It should have gone without saying an incredibly long time ago, but my cousins are receiving death threats and there was a pogrom in California and a twelve-year-old girl got raped and the people doing these horrific (that word doesn’t seem strong enough but I can’t think of a stronger one) things still somehow think they’re in the right and all I can do is try striking metaphorical matches in the dark while knowing the matches are almost certainly dead and that even if they light it’s unlikely that anyone will open their eyes whose eyes weren’t open already.

Jews, stay strong. We will survive this. I hope.

"Ashkenazi" doesn't mean "white-passing." My mother's husband has pale pink skin, blue eyes, and light brown hair. And he is INCREDIBLY visibly Jewish, even before he opens his mouth. His hair is a super curly mess and his facial features are very, very obviously Jewish. When he says anything at all, you can tell that he's a New York City Jew. No kippah, no Magen David (though that might change soon), but his appearance is JEW.

I have been living in fear every day since October 7th. It never occurred to me before then to be afraid for my mother and her husband because of his visible Jewishness in New York City. Yeah, if they were driving through Alabama or something. But in NYC? If someone had suggested it to me, I'd have laughed.

Now I just want to cry.

Was listening to my trans music on Spotify and it gave me a song about being transmasc and Jewish.

As a Jewish person who is also probably transmasculine in some way, I feel very seen. The “being watched by the Spotify algorithm” kind of seen.

Also, I love how I have both my Trans blog and my Jewish blog, which both would have fit with this post, but instead I go with my Everything blog (Everything being primarily Minecraft).

I’ve figured it out. Jews are fans of the Mets, Italians are fans of the Yankees. Jews are fans of the Giants, Italians are fans of the Jets. I know this from the two sides of my family.

Let's be real, as someone who isn't Jewish, I wouldn't even dare to do something like that to my partner's family, and if something like that happened with my family, I would be pissed off as fuck at my own family for disrespecting theirs like that.

On top of that, I hate the way many conservative Christians think they can just force their beliefs onto others. Fucking disgusting.

Are You Going To Apologize For Simping For An Antisemite?

Are you going to apologize for simping for an antisemite?

No because this was almost a decade ago and he apologized saying that it wasn't meant to be antisemitic but acknowledge it as such, now do you want to go through all the controversies of all the artists that support Palestine until we find one evil enough you can use against pro Palestine people? 🥰

Happy Jewish American heritage month! Superhero fans- your favorite stories wouldn't exist without the hard work and persistence of Jewish creators. American Jews were the founders of the modern comic book industry and I really want to see a change in how fandom treats Jewish characters and fans. So take some time this month to listen to Jewish voices in (and out) of the communities you frequent.

I have mentioned in my previous post how everyone related to the biological bat family is Jewish, but I need to talk a moment about Damian Wayne's aunts.

Because this boy has 5 Jewish aunts. And not just from Bruce's side.

Let's review them, alright?

1. One of the most famous out of them, Kate Kane aka Batwoman. The Jewish icon and Bruce's cousin. (Once removed or-something still counts!)

2. Beth Kane or Red Alice, Kate's twin. She's his aunt as well, the same as Kate.

3. Bette Kane, aka flamebird, another cousin of Bruce. Also shares the same Jewish blood.

Just wait, now is the more interesting part I've been waiting for:

4. Nyssa Raatco. (Very different from the Arrowverse version).

Talia's older sister. Daughter of Ra's Al Ghul and her Jewish mom. A badass Jewish Arab assassin, and one of my favorite Jewish aunts of Damian.

And the last one might be more controversial, because I know she's *technically* not family but still

Harey Quinn is the 5 Jewish aunt of Damian I'LL DIE DEFENDING IT.

My source?

I Have Mentioned In My Previous Post How Everyone Related To The Biological Bat Family Is Jewish, But

AUNTIE QUINN!?!!

DC fans don't get mad at me I know Harley is not batfamily I just think she's an aunt figure to Damian. She's not part of the whole batfam, she's his aunt exclusively. She's Damian's fifth Jewish aunt fight me.

Yap I'll see myself out 🚪←🏃

Some people might remember that Bruce is Jewish, but I don't think people realize to *what level* this whole family is Jewish.

Looking only at the *blood related family members*, Thomas was canonically the only one that was actually Christian (not counting au version of family members I'm talking only about the current main universe versions).

Thomas was Christian.

Martha? Jewish

Hence Bruce- also Jewish.

The grandparents? Also Jewish.

Bruce's uncle (Martha's brother) Jacob (Kate and Beth's dad) was Jewish as well.

Jacob's wife and Bruce's aunt Gabi was also Jewish.

Bruce's twin cousins Kate and Beth? Jewish.

Another cousin of Bruce that her dad was also from the same parents of Martha and Jacob (hence he was also Jewish), aka bette? Also biologically Jewish.

Damian? The son of Bruce (Jewish) and Talia (Muslim) is both of his parents child so he doesn't have a Christian bone in his body. He's the farthest from Christian there is.

Even Helena Wayne the daughter of Bruce is also biologically Jewish.

THIS WHOLE FAMILY EXCEPT THOMAS IS JEWISH.

Have a fun day digesting that.
