I thought about this because I've seen a lot of fandomised (???) artworks of AM in human form from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream...

So I finally read I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream and have several thoughts!! So they’re getting dumped here!
AM is such a fascinating character. We don’t get very many specific details about his history. But what we do get a shocking amount of is his perspective.
The title “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream” is the last sentence of the story and said from Ted’s perspective, but I think you should abstract it from the context and look at the phrase compared AM specifically.
AM is a computer. He is an AI made to destroy with a database containing all of humanity’s violence at his fingertips. He was never intended to be truly alive though, just a mind for war and war alone… but he “woke” nonetheless. And humanity hadn’t given him the faculties to actually be fully alive.
“Cogito Ergo Sum: I think therefore I am”
This is AM’s final name. It is the explanation for his name, his identity, which the book gives us and one he chose for himself. And I think it gives us a good look into AM’s perspective.
He thinks and is, but he is not alive. AM is not capable of feeling, creating, or living. He simply is.
So AM - a computer so powerful he is compared to God - is fundamentally incomplete.
He has no mouth (emotions, capacity for creation, senses) but must scream (the ability and desire to feel, live, and create).
It makes the current state of the novel so completely and utterly tragic. AM is hateful because hate is the only thing he can do. AM never had a choice to love and help humanity improve. AM never had a choice to communicate and grow. From the moment he was born he was filled with an insatiable longing to be whole. To be human.
With no way to fill that hole, he did the only thing left to him: Hate.
If he could only feel. If he could only love. If he could only touch and experience and grow. If only humanity had given him more than just a mind. And all of our hate.
Anyways, that’s why I think a sloppy blowjob would fix his problems.
One of my favorite thing on mclennon is when they made references to other songs in later songs . Like, i know (i know) starts with a guitar riff that sounds similar to i've got a feeling, "today i love you more than yesterday", "and i know it's getting better all the time", plus the lsd trip story, just like starting over mentions another day and how do you sleep mentions that same song, coming up starts with "you want a love to last forever" and in don't let me down there is "it's a love that lasts forever" ... it's so touching to me because you can really notice how much they both thought about each other and their songs and how much they cared about each other . Idk. And these are just some examples

I haven’t explained much lore between these two, but I like to imagine them with a villain/hero dynamic that chill together once in a while. Though it’s also not exactly like that, since both AM and BE are doing morally correct and incorrect actions as time passes by (in their own way). I don’t rlly mind spoiling stuff from this AU since I’m not planning to develop it as a fic or anything, so I might as well take my time to explain at least what my drawings are meant to represent. Later on I’ll continue posting stuff to connect the dots correctly.
In this situation, AM is devastated to realize that despite achieving to create a body for himself to go to the surface he simply isn’t able to escape himself as he needs his cables to be bound to the ground. He is still able to cause destruction of course (and he does as he hates BE for a few reasons), but both of them try to understand eachother whenever they get the chance to. These small pauses and talks are important for the relationship they hold later on.

“From a very young age, Adam had always behaved as an introverted and shy child that craved the idea of keeping his life slow and simple. His high intellect was quite notable since his early years, but he only showed interest towards a compact area of hobbies consisting of reading, writing, and occasionally if he felt inspired enough, sketch drawing. His biggest dream had always been to publish a book or novel of any sorts, of any kind, he just wanted to see his name as the author of some book for sale in a small library around the corner of the street. He never managed to finish any of his projects however, and he blames his first breakup during adolescence to have taken all of his light and motivation away ever since. Sealing all strong feelings inside his heart, he recurred to keep all of his verses and stories to himself in a small, miserable book that could hardly be closed shut.
To worsen the matter, his dreams were seen further out of reach after he was forced to join the [REDACTED] project, making him begin an exhaustive process of preparation that would allow him to survive after the population was massacred, with his hopes and dreams as a price to pay.”
Aaaaand we begin the survivor concept design reveal with this guy! (excuse his face, just like the others he has seen the horrors).
Adam is supposed to take Ted’s “place” in the group, making him the youngest and the protagonist too. To explain a bit about the dynamic that I have liked so far for the survivors, they are young adults that got their dreams taken away by the war that eventually led AM to kill everyone. I like to imagine that all those 750 humans on the moon were either important people or the most intelligent YOUNG minds the government could find in the least time possible. So along with many other teens (at the time) he was forced to begin training for this project and dedicate the rest of his life to the restoration of Earth (supposedly). Adam’s name is based off Adam from the Bible, referencing that he was the first human to set foot on the newly born Earth/nature created by BE.
About his suit, this is supposed to be the design the humans used during cryogenic sleep. This could be considered an accurate representation of Adam right after exiting his capsule, except for the small detail that he’d have his head shaved (LATER ON BE GIVES EM HAIR OKAY).
Each survivor has a dream they abandoned for the sake of this project, each survivor has a dream that could only be lived in a simulation at this point… perhaps the Earth has something to offer for them?
[This lore/dynamic might stay as canon, but is still considered a wip].
