Experience Tumblr Like Never Before
I PRESENT MY THEORY
ok I wanna point out some details I picked up on (apologies if this sounds janky Idk how to properly string my thoughts together):
1. we see jayce next to his hammer, reaching out to viktor. the hammer can have multiple meanings, but this pretty plainly implies he is choosing viktor over everything else in his life, as what was seen in the finale ( i.e “now all i want is my partner back” ).
Id also like to point out that jayce is considerably smaller than viktor, as if viktor is a deity to him, his entire world. (the halo behind viktor adds to that)
2. jayce is completely gold, and there are some sort of golden strings come out of viktors eyes. I think this is a way of referencing to viktors appearance during the whole jayvik finale, and I would like to mention that those strings are supposed to represent kintsugi— a japanese art of repairing broken pottery by filling the cracks with gold. kintsugi can be seen as a metaphor for life, that imperfections and brokenness can be beautiful. ( wow, that sure sounds like someone’s speech, I wonder who!! )
I’ll also mention that viktors body has holes and gashes in it, like hes broken pottery, and jayce being solid gold is a way of showing that he is sort of the “gold” that holds viktor together. he is the one showing viktor that there was nothing wrong with him, that he was worthy of love, and that jayce would always accept him for his flaws.
one more thing I’d like to point out is viktor having some roots of brown still in hair— signifying that while even in his godly form, he’s still there. that inspite of all of the hardships he endures, the acts he will take, no matter how far he gets from his humanity, he’s still viktor.
also just wanna say this piece is absolutely gorgeous, I can’t even begin on how much I adore it !! it’s so well rendered, the details and textures are bloody exquisite !!!!! thank u for feeding jayvik nation
Finally got the motivation to fully finish a piece. Here ya go, it's FULL of symbolism like every single element is there for a reason. Have fun with making up theories I'd love to read them :)
