Bad Dates

And another bad date. One after the other, each date was getting worse and worse. Your only comfort right now was ice cream, sweets, snacks and hugs from your friend heesung. Thank god heesung existed. No, literally, he's your closest friend, the one who drives you to and from your progressively bad dates, the one who comforts you after them and honestly, the only boy you'd really love to go on a date with.

Suddenly, the sound of fingers snapping awoke you from your trance and brought you back to reality.

"You zoned out" heesung spoke. "Don't think about it, the date, I mean" he added.

"Oh thanks, that's actually a great idea! " you replied sarcastically.

How could you not think about it? Tonight's date was the last resort to finding someone that would make me forget about him and it was honestly, my biggest failure yet. Like, this dude really thought that him apologizing for spilling his wine on your favorite dress shirt would get him another date or would make you fall for him.

" The dude spilled wine on your shirt and you're still thinking of him?"

"It wasn't just a shirt, sung, it was MY favORITE dress shirt" he put a hand over his ear so as to protect it from my screams.

"Maybe you just have really bad taste in men" he said.

"You're not that bad though" you said quietly

"Did you just say what I think you said?" he stood up on the couch while he pointed his finger at you.

OH-OH *jazz music stops*

"Look- before you say anything- I really haven't gotten the chance to tell you yet but I really really like you, like I could write a ten page essay on how much I love you and why" you said, while heesung had a puzzled look on his face.

"ok but like, WHY DID YOU GO ON ALL THOSE DATES?!?"

"To be honest, I didn't want to tell you about my crush on you in fear of you rejecting me and ruining our friendship, so the dates were my last solution..."you said quietly, scared of his reaction.

You tried to study his face in order to figure out any emotions or reactions but he had a blank stare on, slowly turning to a soft one with a little smile.

"I would like to confess my feelings too then," he played with his fingers nervously trying to find the correct words to express himself, " I've liked you for close to a year now and I've never had the courage to tell you because you started going on those dates and I was scared of sounding jealous so I kept quiet"

After that you pulled him in for a hug, inhaling the scent of the expensive cologne he loved so much and he tightened his arms around you.

"So what are we now?"

After that, you stare up at him and reply,

"Oh I don't know, this looks like a friends to lovers trope from those books I read"

Next thing you know, you're both under the blankets cuddling while talking about how much you love and appreciate each other.
