The past

Yuki Tsukumo came into your life like an all consuming fire on a windy Autumn day. The air was just getting a bite to it and you felt the cold through your dress. You had not thought to grab a shawl to cover your shoulders and neither had your mother.

She held a firm grip on your hand as the two of you walked up to the porch of the Tsukumo farm. It was a large place and the path to the house was long. You felt so tired by the time you reached the house.

Mrs. Tsukumo answered the door almost the instant your mother knocked. Her blonde hair was down and framed the wide smile she had on her face.

“It’s so good to see you!” She exclaims and hugs your mother like there is no tomorrow.

When she pulls back her gaze falls to you, a gleam of amusement in her eyes. You back away from her curious gaze. She chuckles at your shyness and crouches down to your level, her skirts hitting the wooden floor beneath her.

“You are a shy little thing aren’t you?” She says softly as you blink at her forwardness.

“Yes- yes ma’am!” You speak up and try to steel your resolve.

“And polite!” She stands back up to look at your mother, “She is almost the exact opposite of our Yuki.”

As if on cue you see her. A girl about your age with her wild blonde hair put up in a messy ponytail. The green ribbon tying it back matches her dress which has mud on it up to her knees. She has a grin on her face and a feathery thing in her arms.

You hide behind your mother’s skirt as Mrs. Tsukumo turns around to scold her.

“What have I told you about bringing chickens into the house!” She exclaims and her eyes widen as she sees the mud on her dress. “And gettin’ mud on your best dress!”

The girl pouts a bit and hugs the chicken to her chest, “I wanted to show them my favorite chicken!”

You blink in surprise as she points at you, her hands are a contrast to yours. Her fingers are dirty and you can see a few scratches here and there on them and up her arms.

Why did she want to show you a chicken?

You really don’t want that feathery thing too close to you. Its beady eyes look around the room at everything. Its eyes land on you and it reaffirms your aversion to the chicken.

Mrs. Tsukumo has her hands on her hips and continues to scold her.

“The chickens are not for you to play with! How many times do I have to tell you that a proper lady doesn’t play with farm animals, Yuki.”

Yuki doesn’t look completely convinced about it. Her brows scrunched in discontent with her mother’s scolding. Her grip on the chicken tightens and the thing squawks loudly.

“But they might actually like the chicken Mama!” Yuki settles on.

Your mother holds back a laugh behind her gloved hand. Her eyes are alight with something you have never seen before. It was like she was a completely different person when Mrs. Tsukumo was in the room.

As you study your mother’s expression you don’t see Yuki until she is mere inches from your face. Yelping, you stumble back a bit so she isn’t as close to you.

Her brown eyes stare into yours with obvious curiosity. There is a sparkle to them that draws you out of your shell a bit. She shifts the chicken in her arms slightly to hold out a hand to you.

“The name’s Yuki! What’s yours?” She asks you with a grin.

You take her hand and she shakes it. In your haste to tell her your name you trip over it multiple times.

“You don’t talk well do you?” Yuki remarks with a giggle after you finally get your name out of your mouth, which earns a smack on her arm from her mother.

“Don’t talk like that Yuki! Apologize now!” She squawks at her.

In Yuki’s defense she does genuinely look sorry for her actions, “I didn’t mean that- I am sorry.”

For the first time since arriving you smile. You take her hand which was still out stretched. It is warm and you feel a few healed over scratches on them. It feels so right to hold her hand in yours.

“Can you show me the chickens?” You ask.

Yuki looks surprised then ecstatic.

“Let’s go!”

She grabs your hand and drags you off.

You were never the same after that.

The present

Toji Fushiguro is dead.

There is a bullet hole through his skull put there by Yuki herself.

It would be a terrifying scene if she hasn’t had as much blood as she does in her hands. It has been eight years under Toji’s thumb. Eight years of murder, robbery and arson. She has been a terror to every town they have ridden through.

That was how she got her job as his second in command. Yuki had demonstrated sheer brutality only rivaled by Toji himself. He had taught her how to shoot, the best way to pick vault locks and how to intimidate others by just a look. His guidance, even if it was harsh, made her into the infamous outlaw she was today.

As she looks at his body, Yuki lets herself cry for the first time in eight years. Tears fall down her red cheeks. She cries for her parents, for the years lost and you.

The last time she saw you it had been from the saddle of her horse as she rode her next to your train. She of course couldn’t fully catch up but she watched the train that took you until there was only a speck of black smoke on the horizon. It had pulled her heart apart to watch you leave.

Yuki wonders how you are. Did you get married to the Mayor’s son? She had heard he was a good man but she never met him. You probably are all settled down with a child now. She would have loved to be there for any part of your life.

She needs to go back to see if there is anything left of her parents. Yuki wants to give them a proper burial if you haven’t already done that. Maybe she will catch sight of you, catch a glimpse into your picturesque life.

The thought of you on someone else’s arm makes her sick but you were probably happier then out here with her.

When her tears and thoughts of you fade she walks out of the room where Toji’s body lies. She needs to establish her place quickly in the group before others begin to see an opportunity to take over.

“Is he dead?” Todo asks from the living room.

He is sitting on a chair against one wall, cleaning his revolvers. It would be an intimidating sight for most people but Yuki breezes by any fear she may have for the boy. She remembers when Toji had first brought him back in the same way he had with her, except Todo got a choice.

He had been like a wet cat, shivering and wet from the downpour he had walked in. His wide eyes had scanned every person in Toji’s group of bandits. A sense of fear in him that she had seen mostly on the town’s folk they stole from.

Even though years have passed since then and he has grown into a mountain of a man he still is that little kid she had comforted that first night.

“As dead as a man can be.” She says, her usual smile gone from her face.

Todo just nods in understanding. He had also grown up under Toji’s almost abusive teaching style. It shapes you into an entirely different person, you lose sight of yourself as you try to keep up with him. But luckily for Todo, Yuki had been there to help him.

“Good.” Todo whispers as if Toji would rise from the dead to beat him for uttering it.

“We are going on another raid, I need to let the others know that I am in charge and to put people in their place.” Yuki pulls on her jacket.

“Alright, I will gather the boys.” He says and gets up. She watches as he leaves, his guns shining in their proper place in holsters at each hip.

Yuki takes a deep breath before putting her gun back in the holster and following suit.

The raid goes off without a hitch. The men follow her orders with no hesitation or backlash. It feels good to be in control, she spent so much time without it so having it is like a drug.

The door to the house they are raiding last is wide open and she walks through like she owns the place. The family here seems to have already fled, probably because of the rumors that her gang was coming to this town next.

She looks around the house and her eyes catch on an emerald green dress. It is rumpled on the wooden floor so they must have dropped it on the way out and not deemed it important enough to come back for.

Yuki picks up the dress to look at it. She is reminded of a life that feels like a hundred years ago. She remembers meeting you for the first time, your anxious excitement as she showed you around the farm. She throws it over her shoulder and continues looking for whatever she can find.

When she gets to the bedroom door and sees a bed empty of linens. The window is open and the curtains flap in the wind. But the closet still has some clothes and she walks over in interest.

A turquoise blue dress is nestled in between pairs of pants and shirts. She grabs the new clothes and the dress. A hope small in her chest that she may see you in something similar when she sees you.

Yuki needs to stop being so sentimental.

Cowboy Like Me

It takes three weeks to get settled enough into her new position for her to be able to leave.

She makes sure that Todo is in charge while she is gone and won’t break under her men’s pestering or threats. He vows to keep everything in order while she goes back to say goodbye to her parents.

As she gets closer to her hometown she feels more nervous. It feels wrong to be back there with how much she has changed. Yuki is a different person and she can’t help but fight herself as she faces the town that raised her. She probably won’t even look you in the eyes as she passes by.

When she rides into town no one notices her face. She is happy for that and the hat low on her head to hide her face. It hasn’t changed one bit, sure people are older but the buildings remain the same. She does see some new faces that must have moved in while she was gone.

She moves through this town like a ghost to the remains of the farm.

It is still in ashes, the house’s charred ruins haven’t been messed with. Part of her is thankful for that, it shows everyone that they were here. It is a mark on this town that she existed here once. She looks around the remains for anything of hers or her parents but there is nothing.

The only thing there is a fresh bouquet of sunflowers. She smiles down at the flowers and wonders if you put them there for her. Carefully she undos the black ribbon and pulls one out for herself.

Yuki puts the sunflower in her saddle bag and hops onto her horse. She wants to look at your house for one last time. It would be like closure, to see your parents and maybe even you.

The old house comes into view and Yuki feels a part of her relaxes as she sees the fresh paint and life in it. A child opens the door and runs out, giggling wildly as she goes.

Maybe she was yours. Tears clog her throat as she brings her horse to a stop just a few yards from your door.

The door swings open again to reveal a woman she has never seen before. Her face has worry lines on it as she looks around. Her yellow skirts touch the wooden porch as she walks around to the right to look for the child that ran out.

In her search she sees Yuki, her eyes widen before she calls out to her.

“Can I help you?” She yells at Yuki as she walks off the porch.

“Yes!” She calls back, “I was looking for an old friend whose parents used to live here?”

The woman shields her eyes from the sun with a hand but Yuki can see the pity on her face from here.

“The old folks who owned this place were kicked out because of gambling debts!” She explains, “The mother died a few years ago and the father ran off but the daughter was taken to the parlor house to work off the debt!”

Yuki’s heart drops to her stomach.

She never thought this would happen. Sure your father had a drinking and gambling problem but it was never that bad. She feels her heart beat out of her chest. It feels like her chest is twisting in knots. Your Father running off, your mother dead.

You in a parlor house.

Yuki doesn’t even say goodbye as she kicks her horse into a sprint.

She had walked by the parlor house many times over the course of her childhood. She had never looked at the scantily clad women who waved down at men from the balcony. It had made her cheeks heat up to see them that exposed in broad daylight. Her mother had always shooed her along quickly when they passed by those women.

Yuki had never judged them for their life, most of them never wanted to be there. They were sold or taken to work off a debt someone else owed. She thinks that it would be a lonely existence to be stuck in a house, selling yourself to men every day in hopes of paying off a debt.

Her horse comes to a stop outside the main square and the three story parlor house on the Main Street. She looks up at the women there. She sees so many, all of them barely clothed, with painted smiles on their faces.

Yuki’s heart stops as she sees you.

A is tight green dress on your body and your face is done up skilfully with makeup to ecunsuate your best features. The dress is shorter then anything you would have worn before. The bodice dips low showing off your chest.

Your face has changed, it’s older but there isn’t the light in your eyes that was once there. You must have been here for years since she last saw you. The look on your face is so fake that she almost cringes as she looks closer.

As you lean over the rail of the balcony, smile on your lips a flash of metallic gold catches her eye.

The locket you had given Yuki for her fourteenth birthday is sat around your neck. She had worn it everyday after you had given it to her. Inside the locket was a small picture of the both of you.

You must have found it in the ashes of the farm. Yuki’s heart clenches in her chest. She needs to get you out of here.

The past

At the age of fifteen Yuki is certain of two things.

1. She is going to take over her father’s farm.

2. You are going to live with her forever.

You had protested it at first when she brought it up. You always said that the both of you were going to get married and have families of your own. Yuki would always pout at your refusal of her dream. But soon enough Yuki wore you down to a yes.

Yuki was estatic about the future that the two of you would have. You would be in her house every day and she wouldn’t have to pull you out of your house to run through the fields like now.

Yuki can have you all to herself.

Her heart races as she rides one of her father’s horses at full gallop to get to your house. She is excited to see you today because she got permission from her father to train under him to take over the farm. Your dreams of living together are coming together.

The old house comes into view. She sees your mother working in the window of the kitchen. Your father must be out because she looks out at the window nervously. Her eyes soften at the corners, crows feet beginning to form there.

“Yuki! Come in! I am cookin’ and will make you something.” She says as Yuki ties the reins of the horse to a fence post.

“I would love to but I need to steal your-”

“Yuki!” You yell and come running out at full speed.

Your eyes are alight with something Yuki can’t place but it makes her chest tighten. She feels like she could look at you forever if you looked back at her like that.

“Let’s go, I need to get out of here!” You practically demand with a smile.

Yuki unties the reins she just tied, “Hop on.”

Her hands find a place on your waist as she helps you up onto the horse. After getting up behind you she wills down the flush in her cheeks. Your proximity always gets her so blushy and she can’t quite understand why.

You are settled in front of her and she gives the reins a flick to get the horse moving. Yuki keeps the horse to a steady pace while you are moving through town but as soon as you are past the last building she urges the horse into a gallop.

You laugh and hold your hands up in the air. It is a beautiful sight, you look so carefree like this. She wants to always see you that way, eyes sparkling and lips pulled into a pretty smile. It makes her heart sing your praises.

Yuki takes you out of town into the vast wilderness around your hometown. She eventually stops by the edge of a small stream that circles the edge of the valley where the town is. This stream is one of the offshoots of a bigger river a few miles away. It is also one of the water sources the town has.

She gets off the horse and helps you down. You hop down and immediately start taking off your shoes. Yuki follows suit as you begin to wade into the stream, a grin on your face.

For a moment, time slows, the sun shines on your hair like a halo. It makes you look ethereal and inhumanly beautiful. She wishes she could capture this moment, to think of the sunlight illuminating your face every waking moment.

“What are you staring at?” You ask, your smile growing confused.

Yuki shakes her thoughts away, “Nothing!”

She feels so much freer when her shoes are off. When she was young it was an ordeal to get her to keep shoes on. She hated the restricted feel she got when wearing them.

It has mellowed out with age but she still hates the restrictive shoes and clothes women are subjected to.

Yuki sits on the river bank, her skirt already dipping into the stream below. You have better luck then she does with keeping clean or maybe she doesn’t care about that like you do.

“The water feels good, it is so hot in these summer months.” You comment as you wade back to where Yuki is.

“If it wasn’t for my mother’s scolding I would dive in head first.” Yuki says with a slight pout.

You laugh and pull yourself back up onto the bank, “She would kill you if you did.”

“‘How improper! You need to act like a proper lady of fifteen!’” Yuki imitates the scolding tone her mother is using more and more frequently.

Yuki knows that she is difficult and different from other girls her age. Other girls her age dream of husbands, kids and the other ‘appropriate’ things for girls to dream about.

But Yuki can’t seem to be normal.

She wants to stay with you forever, she doesn’t want a husband, she wants to live out the rest of her life on her family’s farm instead of a random man’s house.

“You are thinking a lot.” You observe with a soft voice.

“I can’t seem to be normal and it hurts my mother so much that I can’t. She is more often than not miserable and I am terrified that will be my fate.” Yuki explains to you, “I don’t think that I can handle being a wife and mother if I turn out like her.”

A blanket of silence settles over the two of you as you process her words. She watches your face as you choose carefully what to say.

“I think that none of us are normal, we just choose to hide it or push through it.” You grab her hand and intertwine your fingers in hers. “But marriage is something we must all face at some point and it can be scary to think about. I think the thing holding me back is the thought of losing you.”

Yuki looks over at you as tears trail down your face. She puts her free hand against your cheek, her thumb brushing away tears.

“You are hiding something from me.” Yuki states as you cry.

You wouldn’t be this emotional about this if you weren’t really scared.

“The mayor’s son, he- he sent my father a marriage proposal.” You hiccup out, “My mother is sending me off to my Aunts to have her teach me how to be a proper wife.”

Yuki pulls you into a tight hug, your face in her neck as you sob. She grips onto you like you may disappear- because you are. You are going to go to your Aunts then get married. Her eyes sting with unshed tears.

You are leaving and there is nothing she can do to stop it.

The present

“Who gave you this?” A grimy hand reaches up to touch the golden locket around your neck.

You want to yell at him to not touch it.

He can touch you all he wants but the locket is the one thing you have from a life that is so far away from this one. A life where you were happy. Yuki is the one thing you have that you can hold onto.

Instead you give him a coy smile, “An old friend of mine.”

“So you were rolling around in the dirt long before you came here then?” He smirks up at you.

“I had a few suitors but nothing more-” You put your hand on the man’s bare chest, “but you are far better than they ever were.”

His grin is predatory as he flips you onto your back. “Those boys could never please you the way I can.”

An hour later you watch him leave your room. His jacket is slightly esque and your lipstick is smudged. Obvious signs of what you two had done on you and him.

You sigh and sink back into the bed, a trimble to your voice. The locket around your neck is still in place. You reach up to hold the golden heart in your hands. A tangible sign that you weren’t always here.

After a while you get out of the bed to clean up. You bathe and change into fresh clothes. There are no more clients today and you are thankful. You don’t think that you can handle anymore today, not after the last patron.

A knock comes at your door and you walk over to answer it.

Opening it you see one of the other girls, Mary you think that’s her name, she is new and very timid. Her parents sold her to the parlor house to pay their way back to the east and away from the bandits out here.

“Someone has requested you.” She tells you and her eyes dart down.

You sigh deep and long.

“Send him up in ten minutes, I have to get ready.” You tell her and she just nods shakily.

She leaves your doorway and walks down the stairs to the Madam, relaying what she had told you.

You get ready for the client. The make up you had just taken off is reapplied and you put your dress back on. It doesn’t take too long to get ready.

Another knock lets you know that he is here. You steel yourself to play a role that you play all too often.

You open the door to see the client standing nervously in the hall. It is not usual but not unheard of to see a man nervous when visiting a parlor house for the first time. You were thankful to have that on your first night. The both of you were new to it and helping each other out.

“I am sorry to keep you waiting sir,” You gesture for him to come in, “please come in.”

He walks in and you get a better look at him.

A bandanna is covering the lower half of his face and his hat is pulled low. You are a little confused by the secretive nature of him but don’t pry about it. Some of the frequent patrons are married and you know not to ask too many questions.

Your eyes catch on the pistols on each hip and you try not to let yourself panic. Not many men come in with pistols, only men passing through or outlaws.

“What would you like me to do for you?” You ask sweetly, trying to coax him out of his shell, “I am here for your pleasure.”

It is silent and you walk a bit closer and look under his hat. Your eyes meet wide, familiar, brown ones.

You don’t want to hope but they have the same flecks of gold in them as Yuki’s. The shape is a perfect match, along with the golden hair under the hat.

“Who are you?” Your desperation is thinly veiled. You watch with disbelief as the bandana is pulled down and their hat is taken off.

Yuki is older, different from the fifteen year old that you knew. She has a few small scars on her face along with a bruise on her left cheek. Her eyes take you in as you do the same.

“Yuki-” You are cut off as she hugs you.

Her arms are tight around you and in that bone crushing intensity you feel like you can finally breathe. You feel tears wet your right bare shoulder as she lays her face on it.

“I thought you were dead.” You whisper through tears.

“I thought you got married.” Her tear choked voice counters.

“Funny how life never goes to plan.” It is sarcastic and sad when you say it.

Despite your relief to see her there is a bone deep shame that she found you like this. Your Mama always told you that doing this type of work was shameful. She had gone on and on that the women who would sell their bodies were damned to hell.

What would Yuki think about you if she knew how long you have been doing this? How would she take it to know that you have lost count of the amount of men who have come to your bed?

“How did you end up here?” Yuki pulls back to ask you.

You give her a sad smile, “Father gambled away all our money and he had a lot of debt that he hid from us. After Mama died he ran off, leaving me no choice but to do this.”

“What about the mayor’s son?” She questions you further.

“He didn’t want to be tied down by the debt so he called off the engagement.” You answer.

Her eyes are full of pain as she looks at you.

“I should have come back sooner-” She says and you shake your head.

“I am happy to see you here now.” You admit and put your forehead against hers like you did when you were kids.

“I need to get you out of here.” Yuki says and you pull back to blink at her.

“But the debt isn’t paid yet? I can’t leave yet.” You explain to her.

“I know but you don’t deserve to be forced to work off a debt that isn’t yours.” She tells you with conviction.

“How are you planning to pull this off?” You ask with amused curiosity.

“Like this!” She picks you up and slings you over her shoulder.

You make a noise of protest as she makes her way to the door and kicks it open. She unsheathes a pistol and points it out at the people in the hallway. They gasp in surprise and fear.

“Nobody moves and we won’t have a problem!” She says and backs up to the stairs.

People begin to panic as they see her pistol ready to fire. The women scream and the men shield them from whatever gunshots may be fired. You can’t really see what is happening from your position over her shoulder.

She turns around to rush down the stairs to the lower level.

“Struggle more.” She whispers to you in a teasing tone. “We have to make this convincing.”

Your face burns but you comply and try to get out of her tight grip. You flail your arms and legs but to no avail. She has a strong hold on you as she continues to back out of the building.

“Let me go!” You scream at her to really sell it.

Once Yuki is sure that there is no one kicking up a fuss she turns forward to run with you to the horse. You don’t know if you should continue struggling so you put up a minimal resistance as she puts you on the horse. Yuki gets up behind you and snaps the reins to make her horse move.

You had forgotten how fun it was to ride a horse. The wind blows on your face as the two of you ride away from that town.

“You are a great actress darlin’” She says and slows the horse down to a trot.

“Thank you,” You take a mock bow, “I really tried my best.”

A comfortable silence sets over the two of you as you both ride on. You feel your body relax into hers. It feels nice to feel Yuki at your back and a horse under you.

“So where are we going?” You ask her as the sun sets in front of you.

“Further out into the wilderness, I have a gang out here that took over an old ranch. We use it as a base.” She explains.

You grin wide at her statement, “So that’s how you got the confidence to throw me over your shoulder and make off with me.”

“You act as if you wanted to be there- I was doing you a favor.” She retorts with a pout.

“Fine, see if the life you made for yourself is better than mine or not.” You tell her but you already have your answer because she is here with you now.

You can handle anything with Yuki by your side.

Satoru is not a very sociable person.

He much prefers the safety of his house. In there he can let the masks drop and be himself without any prying eyes. Sure, he can play the smooth business man like a pro but he isn’t like that in reality.

And reality is often disappointing.

Satoru’s drive to climb high in the company he works for and his ability to flirt his way into deals has gotten him very far.

But as soon as he is in his house he drops the act that is his outside life. He switches his contacts for more comfortable glasses and lets his unruly white hair do its own thing. Satoru is a nerd to his very bones; Digimon, anime and music are all very important to his lifestyle.

Music is a big cornerstone of Satoru’s life, he needs it to do almost anything. Most of the time his music taste shifts and is composed of all songs with good beats or lyrics. He never really had one band he followed.

That was until he came across your band.

It had been a clear autumn day when one of his friends had shared an earbud with him and one of your songs came on. Your voice was clear and loud in his ears. He had been almost mesmerised by the riffs on the guitar that accompanied it.

Satoru has all of the albums that your band has ever released. Even a few additions that were rare. They were his babies, he even has a few signed. He had bought your new album and the tickets for the tour the day it was announced.

When Megumi’s band had been announced as your opener he was ecstatic. He had practically yelled that his son was famous from the rooftops. Satoru told everyone about it and how he was going to support his son. He is ecstatic to have the opportunity to not only watch you perform in person and also meet you.

He fusses over his appearance for hours in the mirror to make himself not as recognizable as usual. It works for the most part and he will also be in the crowd so he lets it be for now.

It’s insanely crowded as he enters the venue. People push and shove to get a better spot. He feels a bit thrown around as he walks, like a ragdoll being tossed back and forth. But he gets a good spot in the crowd to wait for Megumi’s band to make their debut.

He has his camera ready to film his son and to send a video to Tsumiki who couldn’t make it because of work. She had been so upset that she couldn’t make it and Satoru had promised to film the entire thing. He doesn’t plan on letting her down.

Satoru cheers the loudest when the band begins to play. Yuji’s voice and energy gets the crowd clapping and cheering. He was always the best one with the crowd, his sunny demeanour has always drawn people in.

Megumi looks slightly less grumpy than usual. His frown upturned more than normal as he plays his guitar with practiced ease. He looks a bit miffed when he finds Satoru in the crowd with his phone recording but he can’t say anything about it now.

Nobara matches Yuji’s energy well and sings backup vocals. She jumps around the stage almost as much as Yuji does. Junpei looks nervous behind the drums as if they hadn’t practiced it a million times but halfway through their set he gains his confidence.

It was fun to see them evolving from the teens who practiced in Satoru’s basement.

“Thank you Tokyo!” Yuji yells into the crowd with his trademark grin as they end their set. The crowd cheers back in return to his words.

After they exit the stage there is a period of about twenty minutes until the lights dim and the main band enters the stage. Satoru feels his heart beat out of his chest as you walk up to the mic and begin your set.

He can never go back to just listening to the recorded version of your songs after this.

Loser

The first show of a tour is always the best.

Everything is new; new songs, new choreography and the screaming fans. It’s electrifying to experience, all those people and all that noise. Like a drug that you want injected into your veins.

When Yuki, Nanami, You and Suguru had first started the band that is now selling out stadiums you would never have guessed how popular it would get. It started in the basement of Suguru’s parents house when all four of you were only teenagers. Now you hear every person in this sold out stadium sing the lyrics to your songs.

“Come on! You guys can sing louder than that!” You exclaim with a wide grin and hold out your microphone to the crowd.

The best thing about being a singer is interacting with the crowd. You know how to make the crowd laugh, go wild and enjoy their experience. It’s arguably the best job ever.

You have long left your previous stage fright behind in the early days of your guys’ fame. For the longest time you could not handle the crowds but now you can’t get enough of them.

“Do you think we could reward the crowd for being so kind to us Yuki?” You cozy up to your bassist, an arm around her shoulders and point the microphone at her.

Yuki laughs brightly, “I think we could make that happen! What about you Suguru?”

The man in question gives you a smirk and a wink before obliging the two of you. His guitar playing the opening to one of your older songs. You cheer with the crowd and get them jumping again.

As you sing your eyes roll over the crowd. For a moment your eyes catch on a tall white haired man. He is watching you move around the stage like you have him in a trance. All too happy to give him something to look at you send a wink his way before moving on.

When that song is over your set is over.

You guys say goodbye to the crowd and go backstage.

“Who wants to go drinking after the meet and greet?” Yuki asks with a grin.

You hum in contemplation as she takes off her base to put it in its case. She stretches her arms above her head lazily.

“I will have to decline-” Kento replies quickly.

“Come on!” Yuki pouts at him, “Have fun for once in your life!”

“You should let loose Kento.” Suguru says with a grin.

Hopping up onto one of the gear cases you swing your feet lightly as they pack their stuff up.

“I have to agree! Remember that night in Vegas-” You are cut off by a sharp glare from him and hold up your hands in surrender. “Fine! I was just saying that you could have a bit more fun Kento.”

“Besides you Yuki will be by herself.” Suguru says and you giggle as he stands behind the case you are sitting on to put his arms around your waist.

Kento rolls his eyes at the both of you. Yuki just chuckles and continues to pester Kento to go out drinking.

“My tongue ring should be healed now.” He practically purrs in your ear.

Your relationship with Suguru has never been official in the public light.

You have been in a relationship since you were twenty. Even before that there was a magnetism to him that drew you in. Kento, Yuki and both your inner circles knew but outside that it was private.

Suguru preferred a more private relationship and you didn’t want to deal with the constant questions about your relationship that would come with it being out in the open. And it being a secret made it all the more fun.

You clench your thighs as you remember what he could do with tongue before the piercing and think of all the thing he can do now. He is doing this on purpose to make you all hot and bothered before the meet and greet. This is to get back at you for this morning but this is purely sadistic.

“You're so mean!” You whine as he chuckles and lets go of your waist.

“Come on let’s go.” Suguru nods his head toward the door that Kento and Yuki have already begun to walk out of.

You huff and get off the case to join them.

Loser

The lines are long for the event and you can’t even see to the end of the line. You shake so many hands and take at least a hundred pictures. It is surprising that you don’t feel too worn out after it.

There are only a few people left in the line. A group of four teenagers and a man behind them. The teenagers walk up and you recognize them instantly.

“You guys are the openers right!” You ask excitedly as the approach.

Yuki looks interested and leans in closer to have a better look at the group.

“You remember us?!” A girl with a brown bob exclaims and points to herself.

You throw your head back with a laugh.

“Of course! We try to know every one of our openers and their music.” Yuki says and holds out a hand to her.

She squeals and takes it. You smile fondly at them then turn to the other kids. The one closest to you has spiked black hair and a frown on his face. He is talking with Suguru about something, a light in his bored eyes.

The lead singer, you think his name is Yuji, walks up to you and you hold out a hand.

“Yuji right?” You ask and watch his face light up.

“Yes! I am a huge fan of your work!” He exclaims with a wide grin.

“I’m a fan of yours,” You shake his hand with a smile, “that crowd work is good.”

He blushes a bit at your complement, “Oh that’s nothing!”

What a humble kid. You will have to keep contact with them even after the tour because they are on a good track to be on the same level with your band.

“Crowd work is important, don’t discount yourself like that. And your vocals are amazing too.” You continue.

After that you talk with the girl, Nobara, the boy, Megumi and their drummer, Junpei. All four of them are sweet and you can’t help but feel that the next generation will be in good hands with them around.

The last guy is the man you winked at in the crowd. He is cute up close, his walk is a bit awkward considering his height. He is tall, about as tall as Suguru if not taller. His glasses fall down his nose to reveal the bluest eyes you have ever seen.

Looking him up and down you grin and hold out your hand.

“Hi~” You greet him sweetly and watch as his cheeks grow red.

“Hello,” He shakes your hand, “nice to meet you.”

“Do you want something signed,” You lean forward to get closer to his personal space and to push your chest against him, “or a photo.”

The poor man looks down at your chest then back up to your eyes with an expression close to fear in his blue eyes.

“Both!” He practically squeaks out and you want to continue to tease him, how far can you push until you break him?

“I can do that, Suguru!” You call out to Suguru who has been staring at him too.

He saunters over to you with a smirk on his face, “I heard you wanted a photo?”

The man nods sheepishly and you want to coo at his expression. He is so shy and you can’t help but want to play with him. Suguru raises an eyebrow but he seems to catch on to your game and smirks

“Come on then pretty boy.” Suguru says and the three of you take a photo.

The man’s cheeks are red the entire rest of your interaction. He hurries off soon after and you pout at his skittishness. You would have loved to taste him but guess not.

Realizing that there is no one in the line you grin and pull Suguru behind you by his collar. He doesn’t fight you on it, just follows behind you with a smug expression. Suguru has long since told you about his possessive streak when it comes to you.

So you two started to fuck after every show, it was your little tradition.

You must have fucked in every venue in Japan by now. The idea of getting caught with him turns you on like nothing else. It wasn’t really big news to the rest of your inner circles who have known about your relationship for years now but someone else catching you is hot.

Now Suguru has teased you enough, he can put his money where his mouth is. And you are going to put his mouth to very good use.

Loser

Satoru almost had a heart attack seeing you in person.

His exit had been so swift because you and Suguru Geto almost made his brain shut down. His brain keeps repeating ‘pretty boy’ like a mantra.

He walks down the halls of the venue looking for Megumi. Satoru wanted to say goodbye to him before he went back home and he doesn’t want the night to end yet.

A faint noise from one of the rooms catches his ear. He can’t really hear it but it sounds like a laugh or a sigh. Maybe Megumi was with the rest of his band in this room. He knocks on the door once, twice, then decides to just open the door.

What he sees in that room is straight out of a wet dream. You are leaned back on one of the plush black couches, your head thrown back. His eyes trace the column of your neck as a low moan is drawn out by Geto who is in between your thighs.

“Like that- good boy.” You say and run your hands through his thick black hair.

That goes straight to his dick. He wants you to praise him that way. Satoru doesn’t want to push Geto out of the way, no, he wants to join him in between your legs. His mouth waters at the sight of your exposed pussy.

Your eyes slide over to him.

He expects you to get angry or embarrassed because he caught the two of you. But you don’t do that, instead a smirk forms on your red lips as you look at him. One hand gestures for him to come closer while the other pulls Geto closer to your cunt.

“We have company Sugu-” You say to him in a teasing tone, “hmm- pretty boy walked in on us.”

Geto pulls back to stare at his face then his eyes look down at the obvious tent in his pants, a smirk on his lips. “Shut the door pretty boy, unless you want others to see us.”

Satoru feels like he may not make it out of this room alive.

Loser

One thing you learn about the guy who walked in on you is that he is so sensitive. A small touch from you or Suguru has his dick twitching in his pants. It is so cute.

“You are doing so good, baby.” You coo at him as you continue sucking on his neck.

“Too- much!” He whines and bucks his hips into Suguru’s hand.

A little giggle escapes your lips as tears prick his pretty blue eyes. He looks so ruined like this and you are very into that. His glasses are esque and his cheeks are a shade of red you have never seen before.

“Just wait until he gets his mouth on your dick, he has a talented tongue.” You whisper in his ear.

As if on cue Suguru licks up the length of his cock before taking it into his mouth. His lips stretch around it and you can’t deny how hot that is.

You both had talked about inviting others into both your bed and relationship. Suguru had said that he wouldn’t mind it but nothing had ever come of it. Until pretty boy came along. You can already see all the fun you could have with him.

His moans get even louder and you can’t have anyone finding you in here, not that it wouldn’t be hot but you don’t want him to get tangled up in your fame unless he wants to.

“Here,” You tap two fingers on his bottom lip, “suck on these so we keep the noise down.”

He gives a shaky nod before he begins to suck on your fingers. His lips look so pretty wrapped around your fingers. He must like it because his hips buck into Suguru’s mouth.

“We should take him with us on tour,” You muse out loud with a grin, “he would be so good for us.”

Suguru releases his dick with a slick pop, “He is being good so far, besides walking in on us.”

“Fuck-” He curses around your fingers but it trails off in a high whine as Suguru continues sucking.

Your free hand trails under his hoodie to play with his chest. His breath hitches as you pinch one of his nipples between your fingers. You roll it and he squeezes his eyes shut, his whines growing more desperate.

He must be close.

“You can cum pretty boy-” You coax him softly.

He snaps his hips up and cums. You take your fingers out of his mouth to hear his soft moans as he cums hard. Suguru keeps going through his orgasm and you watch his eyes well with tears as he is overstimulated.

You wonder if you could ride him to tears-

A loud ringing interrupts your thoughts.

Your phone buzzes on the table next to you. Groaning you reach over to grab it to see Kento’s contact on it. With a pout you answer the phone.

“What’s up Kento?” You ask in the nicest tone you have right now.

There is loud music and yelling voices in the background of the phone call before he begins to speak.

“Yuki is drunk and I need you two to come help me with her.” He explains and you hear Yuki’s laughter in the background.

Suguru, who has long since swallowed, stands up and looks at you with an interested expression. You huff and roll your eyes. He gets the message that you two probably won’t be staying much longer.

“Can’t you handle her? She can’t be that drunk this early.” You grouse.

“Imma’ call my ex!” You hear Yuki slur in the background and stand up.

Damn it.

“We will be there soon, take her phone. I don’t want to deal with her getting back with her ex for the millionth time this year.” You tell him and hang up.

Pretty boy is just coming down from his high as you wipe the tears from his eyes and readjust his glasses. He looks between the two of you with a confused expression.

“Will you be okay to get home?” Suguru asks him gently.

“Yeah- I should be fine.” He says still a little out of it.

“Here-” You grab his phone and put your number in it, “If you want to continue this text this number and I will text you the address and room number of where we are staying, we fly out the day after tomorrow.”

He looks at you in disbelief, like he never thought that you would offer him more. You laugh at his expression and press a kiss to his red cheek.

“Hopefully we will see you tomorrow pretty boy!” Suguru says over his shoulder as you two exit the room, careful to shut it behind you to give him privacy.

You really hope he shows up because you haven’t gotten to ride him yet.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

You had known that buying that old tattered book was a bad idea when you could barely read it. It had a dark leather cover and had multiple crosses burned into it, like it was trying to keep something in there. And the pages all were in latin- which you couldn’t read.

Sure you took a semester of Latin but that was the extent of your knowledge. And that had faded over time. But you had resolved to buy it and translate it yourself. It would be a fun challenge for you to do in your free time after your exams.

During exams you had completely forgotten about the book until a week after your last class ended for the summer.

You had been cleaning out your desk when you rediscovered the book in all its hideous glory. With a glass of cheap wine you went through it in a deeper way, looking through it for any semblance of understanding. But all you could come up with was a list of ingredients.

Maybe it was an old cookbook?

The Latin in it was older than what you learned in college. It must be an earlier version of it- maybe even a local strand of it special to a specific town or region. You flip to a random page and decide to try and figure out what it says. The page is burnt at the edges and has a picture of- what you assume- is an oddly specific way to stir the soup?

No, if the Latin translator you found online was right it was a chilli. If this is an actual recipe that you can translate you will be on the fast track of getting recognized by the rest of the Historian community.

Standing up from the couch you walk into your shitty kitchen. You put a pot on the stove and rifle through your spice cabinet for everything you will need. It is both specific and vague, calling for things like thyme and then something that just translates to red.

Half way through the ordiel you end up on the floor, the book in your hands and your old laptop close by. Typing in a word into the translator you see that word that translates to red again. Maybe red food colouring would work. Most people back when you assume this book was written didn’t bother with colouring their food a certain way on a regular basis. But certain plants would have that natural color to change it to red.

You get up and grab your old bottle of red food coloring from the back. This should hopefully work, if it didn’t you were back to square one. Two drops of food coloring enter the pot and it turns a bloody red.

You stir it in the way the book showed, in a star motion.

After that you decide to taste it- which was a bad idea because it tastes awful. You gag and sputter as you get a cup of water. Downing almost the whole thing you heave.

Maybe these people had very different taste buds from you but that was the worst chilli you ever had.

Sitting back on the floor you open the book again. You look at the pages with a frown as the letters don’t make any more sense than ten minutes ago.

A tremor runs through your apartment. The walls shake and you hear glass breaking. You hold onto the counter for dear life, try not to panic and hope the tremor will pass soon.

A minute later you can breathe easy as it passes. Still holding the book you open your phone to check and see what that was. You briefly look up because something black catches your eye that wasn’t there before. A man comes into your view, he stands a few feet away from you.

The man now standing in your kitchen is tall, much taller than any regular human, six-four at the least. He probably has about a head or two on you if you were standing on your toes. But that isn’t the only thing that is off about him. Two horns are on his head and twist back like a ram’s horns.

His red eyes look around your messy kitchen in confusion. He also looks somewhat disappointed and you can’t blame him. You were a poor college student and couldn’t afford a good apartment unless you sold your soul for it. But as he glares at it you feel a little offended. It may be a shitty kitchen, but it was your shitty kitchen.

Eventually his eyes settle on yours.

“What do you want from me?” His voice seems to boom in your kitchen like he was talking into a microphone.

“Who are you and how did you get into my apartment?” You counter his question with one of your own.

“You summoned me.” He tells you like you were stupid.

“I am pretty sure I didn’t-”

The man -demon? you can’t tell- groans and rubs his temples like you were the one inconveniencing him. After a second of you staring at him, he speaks again.

“Sweet lucifer.” He curses and joins you on the floor. “Let’s just get this over with.”

You raise an eyebrow at him, telling him to continue speaking.

“You summoned a demon, me-” He points to himself, “with this book” then points to the book.

“So this isn’t a cookbook?” You ask him for clarification, you need to know what type of book this is to fully translate it.

“No, this is a grimoire.”

You sigh deeply, “So what happens now? Do I sell you my soul or whatever?”

The demon looks contemplative as he stares at you. His red gaze makes you shift, it was intense and electricfying.

You can’t deny the demon’s attractiveness, his exposed torso is muscled and broad, his face all sharp angles. Even his nonhuman features added to his appeal. You had already noticed the horns but now you see a black pointed tail switching behind him as he thinks.

“Y'know what? I will grant your wish for free.” He says with a smirk that shows his pointed canines.

A free wish- but how far can you go? Do most people wish for money? Or youth? What do you actually want?

You look at him then at the book and then to him again.

“You can read this right?” You ask slowly.

“I can do anything you want.” He says, smirk widening.

“Then I want you to help me translate this book.”

The demon’s red eyes widen in surprise and his smirk drops, “That’s what you want? Not wealth or eternal youth?”

“Neither of those things interest me,” You hold the book up to him, “this does!”

His unconvinced attitude is back in full force as he groans. You wonder if he expected something grand. All things considered you were fine financially and eternal life seems lonely.

“Besides this could help us understand how the people who wrote this lived and where! I couldn’t understand the Latin in it but it may be a old form of it, maybe even the earliest form of it so we can trace it back to where Latin was first used-”

He puts a hand over your mouth, cutting you off mid ramble about the Latin language. You blink in confusion as he holds his hand there for a while.

“Do you ever stop talking woman?” He hissed at you.

If you could answer you would tell him no but you can’t at the moment.

“Don’t answer that-” He sighs, “I will grant your wish.”

You light up like a firework. This would be so helpful to your career, you can already imagine the paper you could write about this. The demon on the other hand doesn’t look so happy about this.

Finally he removes his hand from your mouth and you smile at him, not minding him shutting you up anymore.

“Thank you for this!” You go to hug him only to be pushed back by one of his arms.

“Don’t touch me human.” He growls at you.

“What is your name? Or something I can call you?” You ask him.

“Sukuna- let’s get this over with.”

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

Sukuna has been summoned by humans for thousands of years. He has been asked for so many things that the requests blend together. The most prominent things are youth or wealth, he loves to twist those two wishes.

The most recent man to summon him was a businessman, who had a decent amount of money but Sukuna can always see the gleam of pure greed in people’s eyes. He had wished to become the most wealthy man in the world.

Sukuna had barely suppressed a grin as he granted his wish. The man was so pleased with his wish, watching the zeros extended far then anyone else had. But he was soon arrested for running an illegal underground drug ring. Sukuna had made him wealthy but the man had never specified how he wanted to make him wealthy.

You were an outlier to this. He has seen his far share of scholars but they always ask for fame, which eventually leads to them either being killed by fans or going insane. You had surprised him with your wish.

Sukuna had been sure you would wish for something different from how you had looked at him. The way you looked him over had been not with fear but something much better, want. And he was prepared to give you what you wanted. No one else had wished for him before so he was flattered and even gave you the wish for free.

And now he is stuck being a translator. The second in command to Lucifer, one of the most feared demons in history is a damn translator for the duration of this wish. He would be a laughing stock if anyone found out.

The grimoire you have is long so it will take at least a week if not two before it is done.

You were excited about this and had gathered a notebook and pencil. He just rolls his eyes at your excitement, letting you know about his displeasure at being used this way. You didn’t seem to care about that- which only made him more irritated.

“Okay!” You look at him expectantly and tap your pencil on the paper. “Let's start on this.”

Sukuna grabs the book and begins to read it to you. You scribble down the words on the paper as he reads. Over the course of a few hours you take notes and write down the translation.

Every so often you stop him to ask a question about the words and if they have different meanings in a different context as well as about punctuation

He also meets your cat. The little beast attempts to lay on the papers you are working on and is genuinely a nuisance. At one point you have to hold the cat with one arm and write with the other.

“Alright! Let’s stop for the night.” You say with delight.

He huffs and closes the book. You get up and stretch with a hum. His eyes catch on the sliver of skin that shows as your shirt rides up. He feels his mouth water looking at it. But as soon as he sees it you lower your arms and the skin is covered up again.

“Do demons sleep?” You ask curiosity plain on your face as you look at him as if he were a test subject.

“I don’t have too but I assume you would feel better if I did?” Sukuna says and you turn bashful.

“Only if you want to- let me get you a blanket and pillows so you can take the couch.” You tell him quickly then practically run off to what he assumes is your room.

Maybe this won’t be a total waste of his time.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

“Where are you going, human?” Sukuna says to you as you grab your keys from the little cat shaped key ring.

You have spent three days translating the book and are only half way through. Sukuna is a great help if not a little irritated with your questions.

“I have to work so I have a roof over my head.” You explain and slip on your shoes, “also Toffee needs sacrifices.”

Sukuna looks down right offended, “You give that beast sacrifices? It does nothing but bathe and eat all day.”

You can’t help but laugh as the joke flies over his head.

“It was a joke, she hasn’t demanded sacrifices yet but she does demand food.” You explain and wipe the tears out of your eyes from laughing.

He crosses his arms with an unimpressed look that he gives you all too often. You pat his arm in a placating gesture.

“I taught you how to use the remote and Toffee is here to keep you company. I will be back in a few hours.” You tell him with a gentle smile.

Sukuna doesn’t look impressed but turns around to stalk over to the couch. You giggle and walk out the door- he is very interesting in his own grumpy way.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

Sukuna doesn’t like being left alone. He feels a deep sense of boredom as he flips through the TV channels. Nothing is interesting to him and you aren’t here to talk to him about your chosen topic. He would prefer that to the pure silence he is now subjected to in your absence.

He tires of flipping through channels quickly and turns the TV off. Toffee looks up at him from her spot in the sunlight shining through the window because of the movement. Her feline eyes are narrowed at him. Raising to the obvious challenge he narrows his eyes right back.

Toffee either is intimidated or doesn’t care because she gets up to wash her ears. He considers this a win and feels rather smug about it. The beast, after deeming her ears clean, saunters over to him. She rubs against him with a meow.

“You have a lot of audacity to touch me, beast.” He grumbles to her. She doesn’t seem to care and continues to rub her head against his calf.

Toffee meows again and paws at his leg for attention. Huffing in irritation he picks her up and brings them eye to eye. She stares at him and Sukuna stares back.

“I don’t like you.” Sukuna tells her.

Toffee looks like she doesn’t believe him.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

Work is boring.

After the morning rush at your job the day is filled with boredom and cleaning everything multiple times for something to do. You are cleaning the counter for what feels like when Haibara, your relief, comes in. He is all smiles and you don’t know how he can be so cheerful in the service industry you give him props for it.

“So how was your three days off?” He asks as you take off your apron and clock out.

You pause for just a moment because how do you explain that you accidentally summoned a demon while trying to recreate a recipe and now you have him in your apartment. He would call you crazy, possibly call a psych ward too and you have to finish translating that book before any of that can happen.

“They were great! It was just what I needed.” You say, trying to match his cheerfulness.

The two of you talk long after you are supposed to leave. You tell him about and show him pictures of Toffee. Haibara tells you about his latest date with Kento. Looking up at the clock you realize that you had been talking with Haibara for twenty minutes.

Shit- you need to get home. With a hasty goodbye you practically sprint to your car.

When you get back you find Sukuna on the couch, Toffee laying on his lap as he watches something on the TV. You shut the door softly so you don’t disturb both of them.

Sukuna immediately looks toward the door at your arrival. You give him a small wave and take off your shoes. It feels so good to be home. You can’t help but breathe deeply as you enter the main part of your apartment.

“Please get this beast off me.” Sukuna demands as you walk over to the two of them.

“Poor baby.” You coo at Toffee and scoop her up into your arms. Sukuna rolls his eyes as you baby her.

“She has been terrorising me all morning.” He tells you.

You raise an eyebrow, “I don’t know if I believe you.”

“I am a trustworthy source.” Sukuna says and stands, using his height on you as an intimidation tactic.

You don’t budge but a blush creeps up the back of your neck. Quickly moving out of the way so you don’t feel so caged in you put Toffee down and retreat to the kitchen.

“So how was your day?” You ask him, trying to defuse the heat in your cheeks.

“Fine.” He says straight to the point, his eyes still on you.

You both don’t really talk after that as you make dinner.

For being a demon he isn’t that bad of a person. You had expected him to trash your apartment or something of that nature. But your apartment was in mint condition and even Toffee was untouched. Maybe demons just get a bad reputation?

“So is the christian belief system real?” You ask as you sit down next to Sukuna with your dinner in hand.

He snorts, “You are speaking with a demon and you are asking whether I am real?”

“Well…” You trail off, embarrassed but still curious. Sukuna catches on quickly.

“You can choose which religion you want to be associated with.” He explains with a annoyed air to his voice, “Then you are judged by that belief system,”

Oh. That actually sounds great and rather inclusive.

The two of you lapse into silence again as you take in that information. You had been raised religious and it had affected your relationship with him. You had been terrified that he was a purely malicious being but he had proved you wrong.

After years of coming to terms with it you had been certain you would be going to hell but maybe there is a chance that you aren’t.

A fluttery feeling makes itself at home in your chest as you look him over.

“Do you want to continue with the book?” You ask, ignoring it.

“Yeah.”

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

After that day Sukuna and Toffee would be waiting for you on the couch when you come home from work. Sukuna claimed to not like the cat but she was always touching him in some way so you don’t really believe him. He had also taken a liking to cooking shows.

Demons can eat but apparently don’t truly need to eat. Something about the souls they consumed could keep them fed for thousands of years. Sukuna had bragged that he had consumed thousands of souls so food was no longer necessary for him. It was funny to see him watch those shows while denying any food you offer him.

But you were never one to kink shame.

“Why are you staring at me Woman?” He asks you, a brow raised in question.

You smile sweetly, “Just thinking! Also can I touch your horns? They are interesting.”

That earns you a nasty glare from the demon. It was bad for him that you lost your fear for him a few hours into his first day here. You respected his boundaries but that didn’t mean you didn’t poke them some times for a reaction.

“No you may not.” He growls at you and looks away with a huff.

You can’t help but giggle as he acts like a spoiled house cat. You also wonder if all demons are like house cats or are others more violent.

“Stop laughing.” He demands, his gaze returning to yours.

Trying hard to compose yourself you take a deep breath, only to laugh harder.

“Sorry!” You wheeze out as he looks more and more irritated with you.

Sukuna, much to his credit, only rolls his eyes. He gets up and makes his way to the kitchen. After your laughing fit you follow after him, curiosity in every step.

“What are you doing?” You ask him as he pulls out a few pots and pans.

“What does it look like?” He responds gruffly and you step out of his way so he can get to the stove.

“I thought demons don't need to eat?”

“I don’t need human food but I am bored so I thought I would try it.” He explains before practically pushing you out of your own kitchen.

Demons are weird beings.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

A week after you summoned him you are fifty pages away from having it fully translated. There is a new sense of excitement and anticipation in you as the last page gets closer. But something pulls at your chest.

You don’t want Sukuna to go. He is good company, even his grumpiness is endearing in a way. Maybe you are just lonely but the closer the last page gets the more your heart drops into your stomach.

So when Haibara texts you about going out you take it as a way to prolong Sukuna’s stay. You put on the best dress you have, one that hugs you tight but not in an unflattering way.

Sukuna watches as you apply your makeup, it makes a shiver run down your spine to have his attention.

“Why are you staring at me?” You ask him over your shoulder.

He huffs and looks away, “I wasn’t.”

You giggle at his attitude and keep applying your mascara. Once you deem yourself fit to go out you get up. Sukuna watches your every movement and you try not to be too awkward under his gaze.

“Where are you going now?” He asks, his arms crossed and tail flicking with what you assume is irritation, just like a cat.

“Haibara asked me if I wanted to go out and we can finish up the translation tomorrow since I am off all day!” You explain and put on your heels.

His red eyes narrow but he doesn’t speak anymore. The air in the room gets colder somehow. You feel the tension rise in the room as you walk out the door into the hall.

That is new.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

You are going out with a man.

Sukuna can feel his irritation rise by the minute. The rage prickles right under his skin. Another man is touching you in the way he should. He had never planned on getting attached to you but he now can’t handle letting you go.

At first it was just attraction, your body drove him wild. You didn’t seem to understand that he was affected by it. Then your laugh began to make his heart feel like it was dying. He was in far too deep to lose you to a stupid mortal man, he can’t please you like he could.

Maybe he should show you how much better he is than that man.

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

You feel good, the alcohol makes everything light and pleasant. It helps you not think about Sukuna who will be out of your life in a day. You can drink and forget.

“I think you should stop drinking!” Haibara yells over the loud music.

“I am not drunk!” You say and stand up only to wobble. Haibara is beside you in an instant, supporting you as you walk to the door.

“You are going to have the worst headache tomorrow.” He says with disapproval in his tone.

“It’s fine!” You tell him with a drunken giggle.

Haibara calls a cab and helps you into the back seat. You are a complete mess as you sit in the back seat.

He sits next to you as your drunken high turns to a drunken low. Tears prick your eyes as you remember that Sukuna is close to being out of your life. You sob into Haibara’s shoulder as he pats your back.

The cab driver stops the car and Haibara helps you out. You stumble a little but mostly make your way into the door by yourself. He has a hand on your lower back and a hand holding yours for balance.

Not deeming yourself fit for the stairs, Haibara helps you into the elevator. About halfway up to your apartment you realize that Haibara will want to help you into bed. He will see Sukuna and then you don’t know how to explain that to him.

‘Hey Haibara, so this is a demon I accidentally summoned that may or may not be dangerous and by the way I might have a major crush on!’

How do you get out of this situation?

You step out of the elevator and see your door. It feels too close for comfort, your bubbly drunk high is slowly replaced with mounting anxiety as you get closer. Haibara guides you to a stop in front of your door. As he goes to knock the door opens.

“How much did you drink?” Sukuna’s voice curls around your anxiety.

He looks… human. The ram's horns are gone and so is his tail. His eyes are more brown then red now but still have red undertones. The tattoos are still there but less prominent. Bagging jeans and a shirt have replaced the robe he was wearing.

Haibara looks confused between the two of you. Sukuna huffs and takes your left side to guide you into the apartment.

“Thank you for helping my girlfriend home.” He basically growls, Haibara looks even more confused at his comment and glare.

As the door shuts in his face the word ‘girlfriend’ swims around your mostly sober head. You are bright red as he guides you to the couch. He huffs in annoyance as you flop back onto it.

“You are so helpless like this.” He grouses as he kneels down to undo the buckles of your heels.

His hands are warm against your ankles and you are in shock. It's so much more gentle than before. You can still feel the tense air from when you left but as he helps you out of your heels his touch is tender.

His current appearance doesn’t help the images you now have in your head of Sukuna being your boyfriend. You can imagine slow mornings with him on your days off, him learning to like Toffee and being there when you get home.

If he could look like this at will then you could go out together-

“Stop thinking.” Sukuna leans up to flick your forehead and you put a hand to it in reflex.

“Sorry.” You mutter and look away from him.

“Was that the mortal who asked you out to the bar?” Sukuna’s gaze goes dark as he asks you.

“Yes-”

He rests both large hands on the back of the couch, his arms caging you in. Your face is mere inches apart as he looks at you with a mix of jealousy and lust. His red eyes trace your parted lips, then look up to you. Your breath hitches as his nose bumps with yours as he kisses you.

The kiss starts off slow, almost reverent, then his tongue licks your bottom lip. His pace quickens as you open your lips to let him in. You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him closer to you.

“Mine.” He growls into your mouth, a hand resting on your thigh.

A heat ignites deep in your bones as he says it. His lips leave heated marks where they trace your skin. You gasp as his fingers ghost under the hem of your dress.

You need this. Ever since you saw him you knew you needed it. You wonder if he knows that because of the smirk on his lips as he kisses you. Sukuna flips your positions so you are straddling his lap, his hands rest on your hips as you adjust.

“You have been teasing me this entire time.” He says and his teeth graze your neck.

His teeth on your neck has you squirming in his lap. He chuckles at your reaction and sinks his teeth into your collar bone, not enough to hurt but enough to feel blood beed on the surface of your skin. As repentance he licks away the blood and kisses the broken skin.

With his hands on your hips he guides you as you grind on him slowly. It’s sinfully slow and you want more, need more.

“I need more!” You whine as his hands run up and down your sides.

“No one makes demands of me.” Sukuna says and reclines back to watch you grind down on his lap.

A languid smirk spreads on his lips.

Sukuna thinks about keeping you like this for all the times you had teased him. He thinks it a fitting punishment for you. It would be fun to watch you grind down on him and get no relief. He wonders if he could bring you to tears this way.

You would look so pretty with tears in your eyes. It would ruin the makeup you had put on for tonight. Your mascara would be running down your flushed cheeks as you beg him for release.

He cups your cheek and you lean into his touch. A pleading look on your face and a slight pout to your lips. How could he deny you with that expression on your face?

Dropping the human form it's easier to slip out of his clothes. The robe leaves nothing to the imagination as he grins at you.

Pulling your dress he gets a glimpse of what he has been craving for a week now. Your panties are soaked as you are perched on his lap. And your chest is almost spilling out of your lacey excuse for a bra.

Sukuna runs a hand down your body as you fiddle with the belt to his robe. He hisses as you expose his dick to the cold air of your apartment. It has been a few years since he has had a good fuck so his cock is sensitive to your light touch.

“Ride me, I want to be as deep inside of you as I can get.” He says as you run your hand over his length a few times.

You give him an innocent little smile as you sink down on him.

Sukuna thinks he might have gone to heaven as your tight cunt sucks him in. He grips your hips as you take all of him in. Your cunt might be the closest he will ever get to this pearly gates and he is happy with that. It was much more welcoming than that stuffy place.

You have a slight scrunch in between your brows as you adjust to his size. Soft hands find purchase on his broad shoulders as you steady yourself. After you settle you move.

“That’s it, you’ve got it.” He praises you as you ride him.

Sukuna feels you tighten around him as he says it. You must like praise, he will have to abuse that.

His hands trace up your stomach to the flimsy bra you have on. It doesn’t take long for his hands to rip the bra off of you. You look a little bit upset about that but it is replaced by pleasure as he takes a nipple into his mouth. There is no complaint out of you after that.

Your movements pick up pace as you reach your high. Sukuna sucking and biting on your chest is driving you closer. Trying to find something else to hold onto your hands snake up into his hair. Your fingertips graze the junction of his horns and his head.

Sukuna lets out a low growl as you touch them lightly, curious about how sensitive they are.

“I told you not to touch those.” He warns you.

“When have I- fuck-” Sukuna thrusts up into you, cutting off your sentence, “ever listened to you about stuff like that?”

“Maybe I will just have to fuck some sense into you.” He suggests and begins to fuck you in ernest.

You keep a firm hold of his horns as he picks up a brutal pace. It is both too much and not enough. Finally he finds your g-spot. Sukuna chuckles low in his chest as you whine and it goes straight to your clit. His deep thrusts become targeted at that spot as your body writhes on his lap.

Then you are over the edge, cumming all over his cock. It feels so good. Your thighs trimble as you milk his dick. He ruts up into you as your orgasm triggers his own. Sukuna’s teeth are at your collar bone as he cums. You pant as his teeth draw blood as he spills out into you. His iron grip on you tightens as he rides his high.

“I needed that.” Sukuna mutters into the crook of your neck. His breath tickles your neck and you let out a little giggle at his sudden clinginess.

“Me too,” You say but are cut off by a yawn, “but I would like to go to bed soon, I am tired.”

“I don’t think that you are in any position to make demands of me.” He looks at you with a self assured smirk.

You raise and eyebrow, “I own this house and I can never fuck you again if you want to be that way.”

He glares but stands up, his arms around you to keep himself in you. It felt intimate to be this close with him. He is warm and surprisingly gentle with you as you move to your bed.

Sukuna lays down on the bed with you buried in his chest.

“I am staying inside you.” He tells you with no room for argument.

“I have no objections.” You laugh and get comfortable.

It is quiet for a while after that as you two drink each other in. You don’t complain as it gives you time to think about what just happened and what will happen after you finish that book.

“Hey,” You say softly, “do you think that if we don’t finish that book you will not be sent back to hell?”

Sukuna blinks down at you in surprise, which smooths out into a smirk.

“I am sure that will work but are you prepared to keep me around?” He asks you.

“More than prepared- are you ready to deal with me?” You challenge him back.

“Always.”

Heaven Is Here- If You Want It

You stand awkwardly against one of the gallery's white walls with a glass of champagne. People walk around looking at the different historical statues, papers and jewellery. Despite being here as a honoured guest it is still not your regular crowd of people.

This is also a little daunting to be here even after your rise to fame. Even with the pages missing the book and translation got the attention of both the historical and archaeological communities. You were shocked at all the recognition that you got from it.

You had expected a few people to notice and maybe a few to reach out to you about it but not fancy galas and snobby rich people thinking that they can just buy the book off of you.

That is how you have gotten into your current predicament.

“How much would you say this grimoire is worth? I have enough to purchase it and even a little more.” The man says with a slimy grin.

You can’t punch this man in the face, you have to accept an award later. So you need a different way out of this situation-

“Found you.”

A pair of strong hands come to rest on your hips. You look back to see Sukuna just behind you, a glare that could kill is pointed at the man talking to you.

“I was wondering when you would get here!” You exclaim and turn around to wrap your arms around his neck.

Pressing a kiss to his cheek he chuckles, “I got stuck in traffic.”

As if on cue the man talking to you practically sprints away. Sukuna looks completely unimpressed with the man as he makes his speedy exit. You laugh at his expression and tug his head down so he looks at you.

“That pretentious asshole doesn’t matter,” You tell him as he grins at you, “now let’s go get this award so I can get out of these heels.”

“I have no objections to that.” Sukuna drawls and lets you take his hand to pull him through the crowd of people.

Maybe opening that old book wasn’t such a bad idea.

Labyrinth

Deep under the palace of Crete is a large labyrinth made for a beast.

Some say the beast was a creature with three heads, each with large snapping jaws. Others didn’t even want to acknowledge the beast. But there were many rumors about why the beast was there and how the King might have tamed it.

As the Princess of Crete and only child of Minos you know the full horrible story. The Minotaur was your sibling. Your mother’s blood ran through it. So you could not bear to look at the door to the labyrinth when you walked by.

It hurts to know that you are related to the Minotaur but also that you will never know your younger sibling. There is a bond between you two that you will never understand.

One day a boy arrived with a group of Athenians who would be sacrificed to the Minotaur. Something about him was different. He stood taller and his gaze never wavered like the rest. His grin pulled you in like no other.

You don’t know why you did it. Not even to this day do you understand your heart driven decision. But you carefully slipped into the cell where the Athenian boy was, a ball of string clutched in your hands.

His eyes lit up at the sight of you.

You explained the best way to defeat the Minotaur and how to escape the labyrinth. You feel bashful at the handsome boy’s eyes that trace the lines of your face as if admiring fine silk.

“Thank you-” He whispers as he takes the string. “Come find me after and I will take you from this place and make you my Queen.”

A Queen.

So this must be the Prince of Athens, Thesus. You had only heard his name vaguely once or twice. He seems kind, his hands are rough in yours but you don’t mind it.

“I will wait by the boats for you.” You whisper back with a love struck smile.

That night as your father rejoices as the Athenians are slain by your brother you stay in your room.

You wait anxiously for some sign he has done it. In your doubt you run your hands through your hair and down your robes for comfort. As the moon is at its highest point a shout is heard. The palace shakes and yells ring out. He must have gotten out and slain your brother.

You rush to the boats. The waters are gentle as you run to your love. He is sitting in a boat just off shore with his men. His smile is wide and he stands when he sees you. You jump into his arms and he spins you around in delight.

After years of wanting to be in love, love has found you.

Labyrinth

Naxos is a beautiful island.

The ships have come to rest here for a while before they sail on to Athens. You sit content on a rock as the sea breeze takes an edge off the summer heat. Theseus is near you, giving commands to his men.

You feel fatigued. Even though the anxiety that has gripped you after you left Crete. What if your Father found you? What if you threw away your life for something worse?

He walks over to you with a soft smile, drawing you out of your mind, “You can rest if you like. I will wake you when we are to leave.”

You smile up at your future husband.

“Thank you.”

You find a comfortable spot on the shore and doze off for a while.

Hours later you wake to see that night has fallen. You sit up slowly and look around for Theseus. But the only sign of humanity is a long put out fire and Its ashes have long since gone out.

Getting up urgently you search the shore for the boats. They are gone. There are no boats on the horizon either.

They are long gone.

He left you.

You cry and run down the beach in hopes he left something for you. Anything, a reason, an apology, even a scrap of his clothes. But the beach is barren of anything besides the campfire.

With tears staining your cheeks you sit in the sand. Drawing up your knees you hug them for some sort of comfort. You train your eyes on the horizon.

Maybe they will come back for you.

Labyrinth

Satoru sips leisurely at the wine in his cup. It has a sweet taste to it, which is the best kind in his opinion. Bitter wine is fine but the sweet after taste makes it all worth it.

The sounds of the party happening around him fades away. He takes another sip and feels the buzz in his head grow. Satoru looks around at all these people around him and sighs. He doesn’t really know any of them.

Shoko rarely comes to parties anymore and Suguru is far too besotted with the goddess of spring to come with him to these things. So he is left on his own far more than he would like.

The party to celebrate the upcoming change of seasons is in full swing.

The star of the party, Utahime, is probably off sulking. But the gods celebrate anyway, Satoru included. Autumn is the season of harvest therefore his domain flourishes during this time so if she wants to throw a tantrum it won’t affect his fun.

As he stands in the corner a dryad walks by him with a tray of ambrosia. With a flirtatious grin he reaches for one. The dryad stops to giggle at him and offer him more. Then she moves on quickly after he takes one.

Most of the nymphs on Olympus know how he is. A notorious flirt but nothing more. It wasn’t like he never slept with anyone but they knew it was rare for him to be that intimate with anyone.

The party doesn’t get any better so he leaves early. He debates going home but he isn’t ready to sleep. Satoru feels restless in his skin as he decides to walk the beaches of Naxos.

He walks out of the thicket he had appeared in. As he approaches the beach the trees thin out and finally end. The sound of the ocean enters his ears. Its soft crashes soothe some of the intense boredom he feels.

Satoru's feet hit the sand and he begins to meander down the beach. As he walks something- no someone catches his eye.

The pale beaches of Naxos are a contrast to the torn purple dress of the woman sitting in the sand. Her eyes are on the spot where the horizon kisses the sky. She looks out at the water longingly, like it was a lost loved one.

Satoru approaches carefully hoping to get a better look at this interesting mortal. He doesn’t usually interfere with the boring affairs of mortals like the others but he is rather bored so why not.

She looks back at him as he approaches, her eyes are rimmed with red and the sun shaped blush on her cheeks is smudged from crying.

“What is a beautiful woman like you crying on the beach?” He asks with a curious smile.

The woman looks down then back out at the sea, “My intended left me here.”

He hums in understanding and sits down next to her on the sand. Her reaction is very different from the fights he has seen over lovers in the heavens. Maybe the Gods are a petty bunch but she seems not the least bit angry.

How interesting.

“He doesn’t seem too fun to be around, why did you choose him?” Satoru asks, long legs sprawled out in the sand and leaning back on his palms.

She laughs without mirth.

“I was stupid enough to love him.”

Tears form in the corners of her eyes.

“He promised me that I would be his love and his Queen. And I believed him because I didn’t know any better.”

Satoru feels uncharacteristic rage fill him. To promise someone the world then leave them when you tire of them is cruel. But instead of getting angry he chooses to comfort her.

“I am sorry,” He says, “I may not be one to be tied down but leading someone on like that is horrible.”

She smiles sadly, “I don’t want your pity. I just want to waste away on this beach.”

Satoru clicks his tongue in disapproval.

“We can’t have that! Come home with me?” Satoru offers.

The woman blinks up at him in pure disbelief, her red rimmed eyes wide. Satoru can’t help but laugh at her bewildered expression.

“I don’t even know you?” She squeaks out in protest.

Satoru stands up and holds out a hand to help her up, “Satoru, God of Wine at your service.”

The woman looks hesitant before taking it.

This should entertain him for a while

Labyrinth

The large palace built into the rock of one of the mountains on Naxos was beautiful. It was all white stone and blue accents. Satoru leads you through the palace, his voice fills your silence.

You really didn’t know how much one man could talk until you met him. It was very surprising that he didn’t run out of air as he speaks to you about anything that comes to his mind.

It’s not like you care too much. You just want to find a bed to waste away in. He had been strangely insistent on not leaving you alone on the beach so you gave in. If he wanted to do something he would’ve done it already, he was a god after all.

So you just mutely followed him down the halls to wherever he was taking you.

“-oh I forgot to ask your name!” Satoru remembers and turns back to you.

You tell him your name quietly and also that you are from Crete. He nods and grins.

“I haven’t been to Crete in many years, what is it like?” He asks you in an attempt to get you to talk.

“I wouldn’t know,” You admit numbly, “I never left the palace.”

He raises an eyebrow curiously, “Did you have a high status there?”

You don’t answer for a minute, not wanting this man’s pity for your loss of status.

“I will take that as a yes then Princess.” He says cheerfully.

He must have already known or had guessed at it and was testing to see if he was right. You were glad that he didn’t pity you but you couldn’t really fight him on it now since he had let you stay here.

As the two of you walk you can’t help but stare at the beautiful palace. A lot of it had windows or open archways, giving it an airy feel. The water crashes gently below the half-open hallway he is leading you through. You can see the ocean as it extends for miles from here.

Satoru comes to a halt outside of a room with a blueish green colored door. He opens it to reveal a large room with white walls. It is much larger than your room back home and certainly bigger than the small captain’s quarters on the ship.

He walks in and you follow suit.

The bed is big, blue and beautiful. You felt so tired that the rest of the room didn’t matter too much to you. Crawling into it you hear a soft chuckle from Satoru but it doesn’t deter you from closing your eyes.

You just need to sleep for a while.

Labyrinth

When Satoru leaves you have already drifted off to sleep. He knows that you are probably tired, mortals get tired very easily so he lets you rest.

As soon as he is a few feet from the door a group of dryads walk up to him. The ring leader is Cleo, a grapevine nymph who has been in his life for many years. Her light green eyes are a light with curiosity.

“Satoru.” Her voice is nonchalant but he knows her game well. He can’t help but grin as she continues, “You never bring anyone home- so who is that?”

The rest of the dryads nod fervently, backing up her question. Cleo’s arms are crossed as she waits for him to answer.

“I stole a princess.” He replies, his grin widening.

“A real princess?” Helena asks with disbelief in her wide eyes.

“She is very real!” Satoru laughs, “And I would like you to take care of whatever she needs.”

Cleo looks unimpressed but huffs good naturedly in agreement. The other dryads twitter in agreement and interest as he walks off. Before he leaves he throws a look over his shoulder to see them looking in on you.

You will be in good hands.

Labyrinth

When you wake up next there is a distant conversation coming from inside your room. You make no move to get up or to open your eyes. The voices are too low to really hear them so you just roll over and hope sleep finds you again.

This bed is more comfortable then anything you have ever been on in your life. It was like sleeping on a cloud.

The soft ocean sounds pull you back into sleep.

Labyrinth

Satoru doesn’t have a set “job” like a lot of other gods. His job was really just wine. Not that he complained about the freedom he had. Suguru was tied down to the underworld and Shoko had her coven he would never wish to be tied down in that way.

So he mostly just went wherever he was needed or to check in on his followers. Sometimes he is gone for hours and other times it is days.

This time he was gone for two days. A few worshippers need his help and he mostly just annoyed Shoko after that. But his mind kept drifting back to you and how you were doing.

You had been so weak and tired when he found you so he hopes that you have had your rest. He was also very interested in you in general. Satoru had been without something interesting for so long that you could take up all his attention if he wanted.

Satoru walks down the hall to your room. You hadn’t been up and around in the halls so he assumed that you would be there. As he approaches the dryads turn to him all of them have worried expressions on their faces.

“She hasn’t gotten up or eaten for two days!” Helena exclaims, her voice on the verge of panic.

“We haven’t been able to coax her out of there, poor dear.” Daphne says with a look of worry on her face.

“You need to try to talk to her.” Cleo tells him, a sternness to her expression that makes him barge into your room.

He finds you where he left you two days ago. You are curled around yourself and the pillow you have in a vice grip. The torn dress you had on two days ago hasn’t been changed and he assumes that you haven’t even gotten out of that bed this entire time.

Satoru walks over and shakes your shoulder. It is light but he tries to shake you from sleep. You open one eye slightly and he brightens considerably.

“I have come to make sure you get up and eat.” Satoru says cheerfully in hopes that it infects you.

“Leave me alone.” You grumble and close the eye you had opened.

He can’t help but pout slightly at your refusal. Satoru doesn’t understand what to do now, he turns back to Cleo who motions with her hands for him to try again. With a roll of his eyes he turns back to you.

“You need to eat so you don’t die. Humans need food and water to survive, why you are refusing it is beyond me.” Satoru says with his arms crossed.

Silently you open your eyes and sit up. Your eyes have dark circles under them as you stare at him unwaveringly. It is almost as if your gaze can see through him in a way not people have.

“I am not a pet you can play with when you want.” You tell him, a rage burning in your eyes.

It is the first emotion besides sadness that he has seen from you.

“I don’t know why you helped me but you can go feel better about yourself now and leave me here.”

Satoru blinks down at you, his surprise plain on his face. He never thought about your feelings in this. All he had thought about was how interesting you were and about his own boredom. He feels a twinge of guilt in his chest as he looks down at you.

“I am sorry for not taking your feelings into this.” He says to you. “I would genuinely like to be your friend and help you.”

You debate it. Satoru watches the split second emotions that cross your face as you think. He hopes that he can get through to you, it makes something ache in his chest to see you wilt like this.

“Sure, we can be friends.” You say and he smiles wide.

His smile drops as you lay back down and hold the pillow back to your chest. With a huff he tries to think of a way to coax you back out of your shell. An idea comes to his mind and he is quick to act on it.

“Well-” He hooks his arms under your back and knees to lift you up. “-as your friend I am making you eat to take care of yourself!”

You struggle in his grip as he turns to where the dryads have been watching the whole thing. They look horrified as he basically drags you out of bed kicking and screaming.

“Put me down!” You yell at him and hit his shoulder.

“Nope!” Satoru refuses.

You continue to struggle until about halfway to the dining room. After that you sit in his arms with a sour look on your face.

Once in the dining room he sets you down gently in a chair. You cross your arms and don't look at him like a child. He wonders if this is what it is like to deal with him when he is in one of his moods. Daphne sets down a bowl of oranges in front of you.

You just stare at them, unmoving. She quickly exits the room but gives you a sad glance as she leaves. You are a sad sight, all sunken and exhausted like this. All because of that stupid prince, he should pay him a visit sometime.

Satoru takes one of the oranges and peels it. He had never cared for oranges, they were so hard to eat. Their skin makes it hard to peel them open. Grapes were much easier to eat but maybe he is biased.

Still he gets little pieces of the rine under his nails for you. You watch him quizzically as he splits the sections in half to make it easier for you to eat. He slides them over to you with an expectant look.

Your eyes soften slightly around the corners as you pick up one of the sections. He watches with a grin as you eat.

Satoru may not know what it is like to be completely helpless or unable to get out of bed but he can be careful and patient. As a god he has time and patience in abundance so he will let you take the time you need.

Labyrinth

After that first day Satoru eats with you to make sure you actually eat. You feel very much like a petulant child when he forces you to eat and take care of yourself. Even if you recognize that you need help, your deep set pride makes you want to hide your weaknesses from him.

You know being this broken after a fleeting infatuation is stupid but you feel so worthless. That’s why Thesus left you on Naxos right? You had served your purpose and no longer mattered.

So why should you even try to get up again?

But Satoru doesn’t let you not get up. He pushes you and lets you take your time to regain yourself. For being a god he is gentle with you when you need it. He no longer tramples over your feelings, he helps you to feel them.

After two weeks at the palace it starts to feel like a home to you. The little balcony outside your room has two couches and a table for when you want to sit next to the sea. You have begun to move things to your liking in the room Satoru gave you.

Helena was a big help to you when you were rearranging things.

When Satoru was out she was with you. Her bubbly personality made her extremely likeable. You couldn’t help but smile at her when she rambled about her sisters.

As much as you enjoy the company of the dryads you have begun to enjoy Satoru’s company. It was annoying at first but when he leaves you begin to miss the shape of his smile or that gleam in his eyes that tells you that he is up to something again.

Satoru frequently walks with you around the palace and down to the beach. He has many stories about the rest of the gods. You ask him many questions about them and he is more than happy to tell you. He also asks you about your life back on Crete.

“It was lonely.” You admit softly, looking out at the sea. “I never really talked to anyone, my father was protective and never let anyone but my suitors around me.”

“You had suitors?” Satoru ask you with interest.

“Many!” You remark, “I have heard so many stories of “great feats” done in order to win my hand over the years.”

Satoru laughs a bit and you continue,

“One man had been fifteen years older then me at the time, he had just lost his wife. And his bright idea to make me accept his proposal was to tell me that he had a daughter around my age.”

Your stomach twists a bit as you tell him about it. You had meant for it to be a funny story but it now is all coming to the surface of your mind. The man had been rejected quickly but his very presence made you feel anxious.

“Other than the suitors it was fine, a little lonely.” You shut down the conversation quickly.

It is quiet for a while before Satoru speaks again.

“I hope that here is better than Crete.” He says, his blue eyes search your expression for any form of discomfort.

“Much better.” You agree with the first genuine smile you have had in weeks.

It feels good to smile again.

Labyrinth

For the past two weeks Satoru has been more content than in the past few years. You are slowly opening up to his gentle prying. It was almost mesmerising to watch you get closer with the dryads or even delve into his library which he hasn’t used for years.

His favorite moments are when you are reading. Your eyes flit across the page with fervent curiosity and he can’t get enough of that life that is slowly coming back into your eyes.

It’s a peaceful day, you are sitting down on one of the couches Satoru had brought onto the balcony. The wind brushes past your face and ruffles your hair. He lays down on the opposite couch and stares at you.

Lowering the book in your hands you look over at him with one brow raised. Satoru can’t help but grin as he gets your attention.

“Continue!” He chirps and pulls your legs into his lap. “I’m not even here.”

“You are going to get bored of this soon.” You tell him with an unimpressed look.

“I haven't been bored in two weeks, I don’t think I will start now.” Satoru says back, waving off your concern.

“If you say so.”

You go back to reading your book and Satoru can see you being pulled back into its pages. He watches a small crease form in between your eyebrows. Satoru almost wants to smooth it out with his thumb.

“So-” You look up from your book as he stares at you intently, “I wanted to know if you wanted to go to a party with me?”

“A party?” You ask.

He hums in answer and taps your knee, “I’m supposed to attend- but if you don’t want to go I don’t feel like it.”

You huff, “You shouldn’t not show up if you need to.”

“But you won’t be there! How am I supposed to be there if you’re here, completely unbothered and alone?” He groans and flops back against the couch dramatically.

“You are perfectly capable but if it is as bad as you say I will tag along.” You relent with a smile.

Satoru’s smile turns blinding as you go back to reading, a pleased look on your face.

Labyrinth

Looking at yourself in the mirror you are convinced you are a different person. The e kohl under your eyes makes the color more prominent. Your lips are lined in a deeper shade of red than before and the blush on your cheeks is lighter.

“Do you like it?” Daphne asks with a smile, her hands helping to pin up your hair.

“I look so different.” You remark with awe.

She giggles at your disbelief and pins the last section of your hair up, “Perfect.”

“Thank you.” You tell her and get up from your seat.

“Lord Satoru will love it.” Daphne says and takes both of your hands in hers. You must look confused because she laughs and guides you to the door, “He has a penchant for beautiful things and you more than fit that description.”

It makes your stomach do a little flip at the thought of Satoru finding you beautiful. You had never even considered he might, you hadn't felt beautiful since Crete.

Satoru had always seemed so emotionally distant and only close enough to meet your needs. Sure, you have seen his happiness or his flippant nature but nothing besides that. Now you want to know more about him as a person.

Maybe this evening you might.

As you exit the door with Daphne, Satoru is waiting. He looks almost the same except his robes are a more vibrant purple color and the crown of grape vines in his white hair. It was the most dressed up you had ever seen him, besides the night he found you. Hearing you coming, his blue eyes rise up to meet yours.

Satoru’s eyes blink a few times before he makes his way over. He seems to compose himself and his regular grin spreads on his face as he meets you halfway. Daphne leaves the two of you alone with a knowing grin. She rushes off, most likely to tell all the other dryads about this.

“You look good.” He tells you and offers you his arm.

You take it and try your best not to flush red under his gaze, “Thank you, you do as well.”

If he notices your cheeks being a shade brighter than before, he doesn’t say anything. You are thankful that he doesn’t tease you for it.

“Let’s go Princess.” He says with a wink and the two of you are gone in a flash.

You had only heard stories about the hall of the gods. Its large white marble walls reached up into the soft clouds above the mountain. But this was somehow grander than what you had imagined.

People- no, gods crowd its halls and walk past the two of you. You get a few looks, mostly confusion and some look interested. Satoru keeps you by his side as he walks in, his grip is grounding to you as the two of you navigate around all the gods.

Nymphs of all kinds walk around with trays of food and drink. You accidentally brush past one and apologize but she was already whisked away by the crowd.

“It’s so crowded!” You exclaim to Satoru.

“It’s a lot the first time but eventually you get the hang of it.” He says and guides you to a far wall where the crowds are more scarce.

Once you are along the wall you feel like you can breathe again. Satoru’s eyes search your face as you try to calm down your racing heart. He holds your hand as you breathe.

“Do you need some air?” He asks you, a crease in his eyebrows.

“Just a minute but I can find a balcony-” You wave off his concern, “You do what you need to do and enjoy.”

Satoru looks like he wants to say something more but just nods and lets go of your hand. You mourn the loss of contact but walk out the archway to find a place to get some air.

The gardens here are extensive and seem to go on forever. You can see almost every type of flower and tree here. All of them are frozen in their prime, their leaves and flowers in full bloom.

You pass by a small garden with a large fountain. Water lillies cover most of its surface and the water spilling from it has the same calming effect as the ocean.

Walking into the garden you don’t notice the woman sitting on the edge of the fountain. She stares at you with a gleam of intrigue, her eyes looking you over. Her deep purple dress is so long that it drapes on the ground.

“Hello.” She says cheerfully and pats the spot beside her, “I haven’t seen many humans on Olympus, let me have a good look at you.”

You oblige her gentle pull and sit down next to her. She looks you over with an appreciative hum, pleased with what she sees. A few pieces of blonde hair fall from her intricate hairstyle and into her face.

She is the most beautiful woman you have ever seen and it amplifies every insecurity you ever had about yourself. You don’t think you should be here, next to Satoru when he could have someone more suited to him then you.

Sensing your distress the woman takes your hand in hers, lightly brushing a thumb over your knuckles.

“What is bothering you dear?” She asks sweetly.

“I don’t think I belong here.” You admit to her and look down.

“I thought the same way for a while.” She tells you. “When I first came here there was a big fuss made about it. I was fought over like a prize that everyone wanted. I eventually found someone who helped me feel like I belonged. You will find that too.”

You think back to Satoru and how he had held your hand to try to soothe your anxiety, his eyes searching your face in concern. His gentle coaxing and prodding to get you out of your shell. With Satoru you have never felt more at home.

The realization hits you like a ton of bricks.

You are in love with Satoru.

All the feelings you tried to deny bubble up to the surface. You want to stay with him and have him pry you open gently. You want him to help you through the bad days and the crying. You want him.

Standing up the woman grins, a dimple forming in her right cheek.

“It looks like you have found that person.”

After that push you practically run back to the hall to talk to Satoru. You need to tell him how you feel, even if it ruins what you have you need to get it out.

You push through the crowd of people to try to find him. Most of the people get out of your way but you do bump into a few of them. All you give them is a rushed apology and continue trying to find him.

When you finally find him he is against the same wall that you were at before you left for the garden.

“Satoru-!”

Your voice cuts off as you see him give a crooked grin to a pretty water nymph. She trails a hand up his chest and your heart shatters on the marble floor below you. In your brain you know he isn’t yours, he never promised you anything but your heart screams that it’s been betrayed again.

Tears prick the corners of your eyes as the nymph whispers something into his ear. He throws his head back with a laugh at something she says.

You don’t belong here, that woman was wrong.

You want to go home.

Labyrinth

Satoru can’t find you.

He has checked almost everywhere. His heart beat picks up as he frantically walks around the gardens. He looks in one final place, a small garden.

Much to his dismay he only find Yuki, sitting on the edge of a fountain. She has a sour expression to her face as he approaches her. His brow scrunches in confusion as she raises a perfect eyebrow.

“Have you seen the woman I was here with?” He asks her, a hint of panic in his voice.

“She wanted to go back so I took her back to your palace Satoru.” She says, her eyes all too knowing.

“Why didn’t she come to me?” Satoru asks her.

“You should ask her, she will have an answer for you.” Yuki deflects. With a huff he walks away from her, she was of no help to him now.

One step Satoru is on Olympus, the next he is in the hall where your room is. You should be here if not he will check the library. He feels dread seep into his chest.

When he approaches your door Cleo is outside, her posture rigid. She looks over at his approach, her face cold. Her lips are pressed into a hard line and her arms cross over her chest.

“What happened to her?” He asks.

Cleo doesn’t say anything for a moment before opening her mouth to speak, “I should be asking you that.”

Satoru looks confused, “I don’t know what happened.”

She gives him an almost pitying expression.

“My Lady doesn’t wish to see you at this moment, please come back in the morning.” Cleo says and slips back into the room.

He can see you for a split second through the door, you are surrounded by the dryads, each of them comforting you. You look down at the ground, as broken as the day he found you.

Satoru’s heart breaks as the door shuts him out. He needs to know who hurt you, who did this to you, so he can make them pay for this grievance sin. His mind goes back to Theseus, maybe now was the time to pay him a visit.

He must have hurt you again somehow.

Satoru appears on a cliff overlooking all of Athens. A king, graying at the edges paces at the edge of it. His hands are clasped behind his back so hard his knuckles are white. The king’s eyes are trained on the ocean, much like you were that day two weeks ago.

Then on the horizon a ship comes into view. A large black sail on its oak mast. Satoru sees the relief on the king’s face as the ship sails in.

Satoru may not have the scariest domain but one thing that many people forget is that he is also the god of madness. He may be peaceful most of the time but he has his moments of cruelty, this is one of them.

Getting into the old king’s mind is easy. He slips in and changes his perception of the sails. The black sail doesn’t mean Theseus is fine, it means that he is dead. His son is dead. The king wails at his son's death, he tears at his hair and teaters too close to the cliff's edge.

Satoru watches him fall, no remorse in his icy blue eyes.

Labyrinth

You are a ghost of your former self.

Depression has its hands on you again as you try to continue on. It wraps around you to pull you down into bed. Your head is only quiet when you sleep, when you are awake it whispers that no one will ever want you. You feel foolish for ever wanting a god, for ever wanting him.

Satoru had told you that he wasn’t one to be tied down and your heart had skipped right past that. Gods are forces of nature, fickle and beautiful but never yours to keep. It is like trying to catch the wind with your hands, all you have is air.

The dryads have been over protective of you, Cleo especially, who shoos Satoru away from you multiple times a day. She is stern with him when he attempts to talk to you, her voice carrying a hint of cold anger.

And thanks to them you didn’t fully slip back into the depressive state you were in before. You can still stand and move but going outside the safety of your room is too much sometimes. Satoru will stare at you from afar and you feel his eyes digging into your back as you pass him.

So you stay in your room hoping to weather the storm that is your broken heart.

Labyrinth

Satoru can’t stand this anymore.

He hasn’t fully seen you for days and it is eating away at the edges of his sanity. His mind calls out to remember the curve of your smile and the light in your eyes. He is constantly thinking of you and can’t sleep.

At first he thought it was Theseus somehow but then you stopped speaking eto him. Now he is so close yet so far from you, his fingers just out of reach of your skin.

It is maddening.

The underworld is as cold as he remembers as he storms into the throne room of the dead. Suguru sits on his throne with the Goddess of spring on his lap and her hands gently comb through his hair.

“Suguru.” Satoru tries to sound like his normal self but it falls short.

“What brings you here, Satoru?” Suguru says with an air of intrigue.

“I need- help.” Satoru gets out but it hurts him to say it. He has never been good at asking for help from anyone.

The Goddess of Spring presses a kiss to Suguru’s cheek then leaves to give them privacy. He is thankful to only have Suguru here to witness his humiliation. If Shoko was here she would most likely be laughing by now. Once they are alone Suguru walks over to him with an expectant eyebrow raised.

“What do you need help with?” Suguru asks him.

“I have wronged someone and I don’t know how.” Satoru admits, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.

“When did this happen?” Suguru questions and crosses his arms.

“Five days ago, I brought her to a party on Olympus and then she was upset with me.” Satoru explains, his voice fraying at the edges.

Suguru hums in thought. Satoru waits for his opinion with bated breath, he needs to know how to fix this.

“Is this the woman you found on the beach?” Suguru asks further.

“Yes, she has been living in my palace for almost three weeks.” He exclaims with exasperation.

Suguru sighs deeply, a hand at his temple, “You brought a woman home, helped her and even flirted with her for over two weeks. Now she won’t talk to you. What happened at the party to spur this on?”

Satoru thinks back to the party, his mind goes through every moment. He tries to find something that might have happened to make you upset.

His mind catches on a moment where a water Nymph propositioned him, did you see that? He had laughed and turned her down because of you. Satoru had barely been able to keep his eyes or hand off of you that night. But if you saw that interaction at the right time it would have looked a certain way.

“Do you have your answer?” Suguru chuckles at him.

Satoru doesn’t even acknowledge it as he leaves with a quick goodbye. Suguru doesn’t look surprised as Satoru stalks off to fix his mess and get back on your good side.

Labyrinth

The night of the sixth day since you had your heart shattered again Cleo comes into your room. She has a slightly worried expression to her face and her lips are pulled into a straight line. You look up to see her walking over to you.

“My lady-” She hesitates, it’s the first time you heard that in her voice. “Satoru would like to see you and apologize.”

You look at the door then back at her. She gives you a nod, letting you know that he is outside the door for you. With a sigh you throw on a robe over your night dress and head for the door.

Cleo gives your shoulder a squeeze as you pass. You smile back at her in thanks as you continue to the door. Before opening the door you take a deep breath then open it.

Satoru is on the other side. Dark circles have made themselves at home under his bright irises. You feel conflicted by his appearance and his actions.

“I have something to show you.” He says barely above a whisper.

Nodding slowly you let him take your hand and lead you out to the balcony you love. The moon is bright in the night sky and casts shadows on Satoru’s handsome face. He looks almost nervous as he comes to a halt right before the rail.

“I know you are angry and hurt but I want you to listen to me-” He starts, “-in the beginning of you staying here I was mostly curious about you. I wanted to know everything about you to satiate my own boredom. But it soon spiraled into something else. An emotion I couldn’t control.”

He takes the hand he is holding to put it against his heart, “I thought that my heart was incapable of being this devoted to anyone but it beats for you- and no one else.”

Tears prick the corner of your eyes. You want that to be true so badly it hurts. You want that type of love and you want him. But your mind brings up the image of that nymph, other worldly beautiful and probably more deserving of him then you.

“What about-?”

“The nymph propositioned me yes, but I laughed off her request because I had you. My eyes could never leave you even if I wanted to. I could barely keep my hands off of you that night.” He explains and uses his other hand to wipe a tear that spilled over.

Your heart feels like it might burst out of your chest. Every single emotion you have felt since coming here swirls in your chest as you look up at him. But your hand on his heart, feeling its beat under your fingers helps to soothe the fears and sadness you have felt.

“I also wanted to show you something more than words.” Satoru says with a soft smile.

Pulling back he pulls out a circlet of pure gold.

You recognize it as yours from when you first came here. It was one of the last things you had from Crete. You had conflicted feelings about what it represented for you. It was as much a reminder of home as a chain. The crown chained you to your past self and to the cage like walls of the palace on Crete.

“I hope that this will make you remember how my heart longs for you.” He tells you and holds the circlet up to the night sky.

One second it is in his hands, the next it is replaced by a semicircle of six bright stars in the sky. They shine down brilliantly on the two of you. You look at it in awe.

Satoru watches your reaction with anxiety. His hand cups your cheek as you look at the sky he has changed for you. He has changed the sky to show you his feelings and you can’t help but to respond with your own.

Turning back to him you lean up to kiss him. He is stunned for a second, his lips parted as you kiss them. Then he kisses you back with more intensity then you have ever felt. His lips are soft and taste of wine and sunshine. An arm snakes behind your back to hold you close.

When Satoru pulls back from you, his blue eyes shine brighter than the millions of stars above you. He looks down at you as if you were the one who set those stars into the sky. You could melt right then and there into his touch.

“Do you want to come back to my room?” Satoru asks you.

Very much aware of the implications you blush bright red, “Yes.”

He takes you by the hand again and guides you to his room.

Labyrinth

Satoru is enraptured by the image of you under him.

Your body slots against him as if it was made to be there. He can’t get enough of the soft moans he can coax out of you when he touches you in certain places. This is so different from his previous experiences.

Before it had been more for his pleasure. Sure he made sure that his partners reached climax but it was more about him. Now he couldn’t care less about his pleasure when you whine so sweetly under his fingers.

Your hand tangled in his hair as his presses gentle kisses trailing down your neck. He stops to suck and bite a spot on your collar bone which makes you arch up into him.

“So sensitive Princess.” He teases you.

Usually you would meet his teasing with a glare but you seem too needy to care right now. He smiles against your skin and continues down to your chest. His eyes darken as he sees your nipples through the flimsy nightdress you have on. Satoru carefully unravels the dress to drink in all of you.

“What are you waiting for-?” You ask breathlessly and his lips pull into a smirk.

“You are so demanding this evening.” He chides and runs a hand up your inner thigh.

Satoru hums in satisfaction as you shiver under his touch. His fingers reach your cunt and your breath catches. You are more pliant after he gets his fingers in you. Your demands slowly give way to moans and whimpers.

You are mesmerising in your pleasure. He can’t get enough of it, watching you arch and claw at him as the pleasure consumes you entirely. His cock strains against his clothes, he feels like he could cum just by watching you come undone by his fingers.

Satoru’s kisses get closer to your core. He presses an almost chaste kiss to your inner thigh. His eyes on yours as they go half lidded. He shifts himself down between your thighs for better access.

When he gets the first taste of you on his tongue he is sure that he is addicted. You taste so sweet, sweeter than any wine or cake he has ever tasted. He worships at the altar between your legs like a man dying. Satoru is sure he could stay like this for hours. He would love to watch you cum on his tongue over and over and over again.

In that moment a selfish part of him is glad Theseus left you here. Now you were his alone and he can only thank that boy’s foolishness for leaving you to him. But then he remembers how heart broken you were. He would never have you be that way again even if he got you out of it.

You grind down on his face, chasing your high and Satoru groans as you use him. Your pretty thighs close around his head as you get closer. He’s almost there without you even touching him, practically rutting into the bed as you reach your high.

Satoru watches with awe as you cum. Your body shakes with ecstasy as he continues through your orgasm. He climbs back up so he can slide his cock in between your plush thighs. You must be sensitive there because you whine as he thrusts between them.

“Just a little longer- hah- then you can rest-” Satoru grits out.

You reach for his hand and he interlaces your fingers with his. As he does you smile up at him, it’s a little tired and fucked out but so beautiful. He wants to remember this look on your face forever, hopefully you will let him. Satoru cums, painting your thighs and lower torso.

Careful not to hurt you he lays down beside you and you cuddle up to his chest. Your breathing has evened out as you wrap your arms around him, holding him even closer. He lays his head on top of yours. As the two of you lay there Satoru realizes he may never be bored again if you are by his side like this.

“I love you.” He whispers into your hair.

You sigh in contentment, “I love you too ‘toru.”

Satoru has never been more content in his life than with you in his arms, you are more than enough for him for the rest of his days.

The cold throne room offers Suguru no comfort as he paces the length of it. A few souls pass by with concerned expressions but he pays them no mind. They whisper amongst themselves then move on.

He mentally scolds himself for not having the restraint to leave you alone. He is better than to give into this desire for you that threatens to drown him. Suguru’s fingers still tingle from where they touched you.

You were so peaceful in his arms and he would do everything in his power to protect your peace. He didn’t know how much more his love would grow when he held you to his chest for the first time.

Suguru needs to find an excuse for this, basically kidnapping a Goddess would not go over well unless he has a good reason. Surely you would understand if he said that he found you asleep and wanted to help you? He doesn’t want to schwander your trust before he even has it.

A pair of hurried footsteps break his thoughts.

He looks up to see Yuta practically running into the throne room. The boy has a smile on his face and he looks like he ran all the way here from the room Suguru put you in.

“She’s awake!” Yuta says and stops next to him to catch his breath.

“Thank you for watching over her.” Suguru says and walks out of the room.

Yuta probably has better things to do as the god of sleep then watch over you. But he owes Suguru a favor so Yuta had to oblige him this once.

Suguru walks down the dark halls of the palace, the only light are the lit candles lining the sides of the hall. He should probably have more candles installed for you, he doesn’t know if you will adjust well to being without the sun.

The door is slightly ajar when he gets to your room. He tries to be quiet so as to not startle you anymore then you probably are. The long curtains veil you from him and his breath hitches as he goes to move the curtain.

Suguru prepares for you to yell at him, scream, or even hit him. He had already gone over every single scenario in his head while you slept. So he shifts the curtain to the side.

You are sitting near the headboard, your legs partly pulled under you. A pillow is clutched in both your hands like you are ready to beat him with it. Your eyes search his face suspiciously for something he can’t tell.

All Suguru can think of is how beautiful you look. Even with your nose scrunched and eyes narrowed you are breathtaking. His heart lurches as he thinks of your pretty face nestled in pillows that look so similar to those on his bed.

Suguru’s mind wanders to places it shouldn’t be.

He imagines you in his bed, under him.

Oh how he would make you sing for him. Your soft lips parted as soft moans spill from them. His hands would hold you gently as he unraveled you.

Your eyes widen and it snaps him out of his lust. He fears that he may have wondered aloud but you lower the pillow in your hand.

“You!” You exclaim with surprise.

He almost snorts at you exclamation.

“I’m sorry for startling you Lady Kore,” Suguru bows slightly in apology, “I found you asleep and brought you back to my domain to make sure you were alright.”

You look down for a moment, a sad look crossing your face. He feels his heart drop at your sadness, he would do anything to banish it from you.

“Thank you, I am sorry for troubling you.” You say and your face regains some of it’s normal sunshine.

He holds out a hand to help you out of the bed, “No need to thank me and you are no trouble.”

You look hesitant to take it but soon grace him with your touch. Your hand fits in his perfectly, like it was made to be in his. Standing you look up at him with a sheepish expression.

“I never got to ask for your name.” You admit with a blush tinting your cheeks.

Suguru grins at your words.

“Suguru will be fine Lady Kore.” He says and you smile back at him.

“Suguru it is then.”

Pomegranate Seeds

Suguru’s palace is vast, the dark halls seem to go on forever. You traverse them with him at your side. The halls are open aired with long drapes on them. This place seems to be barren of plants which saddens you a little. Your bare feet walk on the cold tile of the floors. Maybe you should ask Suguru for a pair of shoes.

When you were above ground you never had to worry about that because the ground never hurt your feet. Now you only feel a slight chill but it would be good to at least have them if you need them.

Suguru seems to know the halls by heart as he guides you to the kitchen. After sleeping for a day you felt hunger creep into your body. Gods didn’t really need to eat but going a while without ambrosia was not a pleasant experience.

His presence is comforting to you as the two of you walk through a large archway to a spacious room. Your eyes light up as you see people- no not people- souls moving about in the kitchen. They all work together in harmony, each of them doing a task.

At the entrance of you both they look at the two of you. Some look surprised to see both of you, others of them don’t seem to care.

“Tell them what you would like to eat and they will make it for you.” Suguru says with his arms crossed.

His face is a neutral expression as he speaks. It is different from the easy smile he gave you back in the room you slept in. You wonder if he means to act differently around you or not.

With a smile and a gentle pat to his shoulder you walk up to one of the souls and tell them what you would like. The soul only nods at you before all of them get back to work.

The corners of Suguru’s mouth are ticked up slightly as you walk back to him. You notice how his eyes soften at the edges when he smiles.

“What?” You ask him as the two of you turn to leave.

“Just thinking.” He deflects and trains his eyes ahead, “The dining room is up ahead if you would like to eat there or in your room.”

You don’t know if him saying ‘your’ room was intentional but you kind of like it. Having a place here would be nice, you could help bring some life to this place if he let you.

“The dining room would be fine.” You answer him and he wastes no time in guiding you to the room.

In the large dining room is a long black table. Many chairs are lined around it but it is hollow because no one is here. You chose a chair close to the head of the table to sit in.

Suguru goes to sit down in a chair farther away but you grab his sleeve. He blinks back at you in confusion.

“I don’t want to have to yell down the table at you.” You say.

He chuckles and sits down in the chair next to yours.

“I wouldn’t want you to strain your voice Lady Kore.” He teases you with a grin.

“I also wouldn’t want that and please drop the title, it makes me sound too important.” You respond and he shakes his head.

“You are important but if the title makes you uncomfortable I won’t call you that.” He counters you.

“I guess I don’t want to think about my title right now.” A sigh escapes your lips as you look down.

You remember the words you said to Utahime. She must be hurt and you never wanted to, you just wanted your freedom. A melancholy feeling settles in your heart.

“Why is that?” Suguru asks, his voice soft.

You look at him and his concerned expression with a sad smile. He is nothing like the rumors that follow him. How everyone got the wrong idea about him you have no idea.

“I said things I shouldn’t have. I hurt my sister and I don’t think I could bear to face her for a while.” You admit to him.

He hums in understanding and touches your hand.

“You are welcome to stay here if you like.” Suguru offers.

“Oh! I would not want to impose-”

“You could never impose on me,” He cuts you off, “if anything you could help to liven this place up.”

You brighten at his words, your mood bouncing back from sadness.

“You would let me?” You ask hopefully.

“I have never tried to grow anything, maybe you could try.” He says with a smile.

It wouldn’t hurt to stay here awhile.

Suguru follows behind you as you look for an open pavilion. He must look like a love sick fool walking behind you as your body radiates excitement.

And he probably is a love sick fool.

You finally find what you are looking for. A hall takes a turn to the left out into a pavilion. There are a few seats on the marble floor that probably haven’t been used in a while.

The dirt around the pavilion is so dark it is almost black. You inspect it anyway and Suguru watches you experimentally touch it. The ground glows green for a second before a rose bush begins to grow out of the course dirt.

You look back at him with a triumphant grin, “The ground isn’t so bad here after all!”

“You would be the only one who could make use of it, I am sure.” He says and leans down to touch a red rose.

The flower wilts at his touch and he frowns down at it. He had thought that he could touch the flowers since you grew them but it seems like he is still not able to.

“Here.” You say and put your hand on his.

Suguru watches as you guide his hand to the flower again but with your hand on his. His finger tips touch the soft petals and the rose doesn’t wilt. He looks over at your smiling face in awe of you.

“You look like a fish out of water Suguru.” You say and he realises how close the two of you are to one another.

“I-” He clears his throat. “I have never touched a plant without it dying before.”

Suguru can feel a flush rise up the back of his neck as he feels your body so close to his. Your hand is so warm on his and you look up at him through your eyelashes.

“My Lord!” Yuta’s voice cuts through the moment.

You back away from him and he mourns the loss of your warmth. He stands up and turns to Yuta who looks anywhere but the two of you, his eyes darting to the side.

“Nanami has a few souls for you.” He says and Suguru sighs deeply.

Suguru turns to you, you have stood up from your position on the dirt. He sees that dirt has gotten on your dress.

“I must attend to my duties but Yuta will show you to the palace seamstress, she will make you more clothes so you don’t have to stay in your current dress all the time.” Suguru says and Yuta looks between you two.

“Alright, come find me when you are done?” You ask him, a hand on his shoulder.

“Of course.”

Pomegranate Seeds

“Oh my!” The seamstress exclaims when she sees you, “I had heard there was a Goddess in the palace but you are more beautiful than the rumors.”

You laugh, “Do rumors spread that fast?”

She smiles at your question and gets to work. Her nimble hands begin to take your measurements.

“You would be surprised at how chatty the dead are, there is not much happening here.” She explains to you as she works.

You had never thought about the dead before in that way. It must be so stagnant here that anything would be interesting to them.

“Does Suguru not invite others over often?” You ask her as she holds up a bolt of dark pink fabric to you.

“No, he is mostly by himself but the Gods of Wine and Witchcraft try to visit him when they can.” She says.

He must be lonely down here by himself.

Pomegranate Seeds

After a few days the two of you fall into a rhythm. Suguru does his duties during the middle of the day but the mornings and evenings are spent together. He is distracted by thoughts of you when he is sat on his throne hearing the souls plead their cases.

He sits with his head propped up listening as a woman tells him her whole life story. Suguru doesn’t let the sigh escape his lips that he has been holding for two hours.

Your voice comes to his mind.

“After you finish I can show you the garden I am working on!”

He can already imagine you sitting among the flowers like the day he first saw you. Suguru’s mind drifts through the possibilities of what flowers you would grow. He knows that you are fond of lillies and roses so he is sure that they will be included.

“-then my husband left me-”

Suguru wants to leave. He wants to see you.

Then like his thoughts summoned you, you appear. You glide in like you belong here, your long black skirt almost dragging on the ground. He thinks you look good in black. A grin on your face as you walk closer to the center of the room. The woman stops speaking to him to stare wide eyed at you. As you walk past you smile kindly at her.

He can’t help but smile as you draw near to him. You ascend the dias to where he sits. Suguru’s lavender eyes trace your outline in that outfit. It hugs your waist tight and his hands ache to hold your hips.

“Sorry for interrupting you but I must steal him from you.” You say far too sweetly to the woman. Your sweetness should be reserved only for him but he allows it this once.

The woman gets the hint and gets out finally. Suguru sighs in relief as she leaves. You giggle at him and take his hand. He gives no resistance as you pull him to his feet.

“Thank you for that.” Suguru thanks you.

“Anytime, let me show you the garden I made.” You say and pull him along.

Suguru lets you lead him down the winding corridors of the palace to the garden you had promised to show him. He finds your excitement contagious as you hum a tone as the two of you walk.

Eventually you come to a stop in front of a large courtyard. Wild flowers coat the ground of it like the meadow you like so much. Every imaginable kind of flower are now growing out of the once unusable soil. A large willow tree looms over the right side of the yard, its branches sway gently in the wind.

“What do you think?” You ask him, looking a little subconscious.

“It’s wonderful.” Suguru answers honestly and he reveals in the blush that rises to your cheeks.

“It’s not too much?” You press him for more feedback.

“Why would I argue with the Goddess of Spring about her flowers?” He chuckles.

You huff good naturedly, “I want you to tell me if I am ever crossing a boundary.”

“I have no boundaries- not with you.”

Pomegranate Seeds

Once again sleep dangles just out of Suguru’s reach. His mind races as he knows that you are sleeping in the same palace as him. You are in reach and he can do nothing about it. He invisions you next to him in this bed.

Your lips on his neck as he guides your hips to grind down on him. A soft moan would leave your lips as he would run his hands up your thighs and under your skirt. His fingers would reach places you never could. Suguru would watch in amazement as you throw your head back in pleasure, your chest heaving.

Suguru groans as he palms his already hard cock.

He practically ruts up into his hand as he wishes it was your hand. Your soft hands around his dick. Or maybe he would take you in the garden. Your back against the ground as he fucks you senseless. He can practically feel your nails on his back, sinking into him.

It would be poetic to take you in the meadow where he first saw you. Suguru fucking you against that tree that you were sitting under, the flower crown still on your head.

And in his deepest fantasies you let him.

You would pull him closer, let him take and want and need you. Suguru cums after that, his mind a haze of pleasure and you.

He doesn’t think he will get any sleep tonight.

Pomegranate Seeds

You toss and turn in bed.

This bed is too large for you, the black sheets seem to go on forever. You stare up at the ceiling in the dark, hoping it will put you to sleep but it doesn’t.

Maybe the underworld is so different from anything you know that you are homesick. Maybe you miss your sister and don’t want to fight with her anymore. Tears of frustration and sadness fall down your face.

You know it’s stupid to cry over this but you have not been from your sister for long before. Her presence was the one constant you had. But now she is most likely upset with you, that’s why she hasn’t even looked for you.

Wiping your eyes you hear a faint rustling from a room a ways away. You realize that it is Suguru’s room. Can he not sleep as well?

Getting up from the bed you throw a robe over your night dress. You walk down the cold corridor until you get to Suguru’s door. For a moment you hesitate before opening the door. It might be too late to do this but if you can comfort him and yourself at the same time you have to try.

You knock and wait for him to open the door. You hear his footsteps as he approaches the door. He opens the door to you, his eyes wide as he looks at you. Your eyes can’t help but look him over for anything wrong.

As you look your eyes catch on the opening of Suguru’s robe and the bare expanse of chest revealed by it. Heat rises in your cheeks as you force your gaze up to his eyes.

“I could hear you tossing and turning from my room.” You tell him.

“Oh,” He says, “I am fine, just restless that’s all.”

You see the dark circles under his eyes and aren’t convinced. He must have had a few sleepless nights to have dark circles like that.

“I can stay with you if you want?” You offer him, hoping that your presence would be comforting.

He stares at you with something you can quite decipher.

“I can’t sleep either!” You explain then grow more timid as you continue, “I was hoping we could help each other out.”

Suguru lets you in.

His room is bigger than yours but somehow more barren. The high ceilings only add to that. His bed is the same as yours but a desk is next to it. You don’t waste too much time looking around because you know he needs sleep for tomorrow.

You climb into his bed and can feel him watching you closely. Vaguely you wonder if you are overstepping a boundary but he had let you in. So he was fine with this.

The bed is warm, it smells of lavender oil. Your head sinks into the pillows that smell like him as he climbs in beside you. He still hasn’t said anything, only stares at you intently.

“Thank you Suguru.” You mutter as sleep hits you suddenly.

He chuckles deep in his chest, “No need.”

You just nod and move closer to finally get the sleep you have craved for the past few hours. His body is warm against yours and it pulls you into sleep.

Pomegranate Seeds

The two of you have become more physically affectionate after that. You hold his hand and he puts his hand against the small of your back when you two walk together. When the two of you are in the garden you planted his head is in your lap.

You hum gently and run your fingers through his silky hair. It is a comfort to have this gentle touch with him. You can reach for him anytime you need his touch and he responds in kind.

“Do you think I should go back soon?” You ask him as he looks up at you.

Suguru looks startled by your question. Then his face smooths out into something more calm.

“It is up to you,” He says, “You could stay forever if you wanted.”

Oh

Oh how you want to say yes. You want him to keep you here, in his arms forever. The two of you intertwined for all eternity together.

You can imagine your life here so vividly. The soft stolen kisses in between him seeing souls, his arms around you at night. He hands roaming places no one ever has before. You don’t ever want to leave.

“Would you want anything in return for my stay?” You say, your eyes flicking down to his lips.

You want to know how they taste.

His eyes darken just slightly as he looks up at you, “What did you have in mind?”

“Is a kiss a good payment?” You smile sweetly down at him.

Suguru stares up at you, his lip slightly parted in awe as if he never thought you would say that. You giggle at his expression and lean down to kiss his lips.

His lips don’t have a distinct taste but they feel soft and warm. For a moment you are the driving force as the two of you kiss. Then you are on your back in the wildflowers you planted a week ago.

His lips move almost frantically against yours. You put a hand on his forearm, holding him closer, encouraging him more. His arms wrap around your torso and hold you somehow even closer.

When Suguru pulls back the both of you look at each other. His eyes are alight with adoration and you can’t help but mirror his expression.

“Can I-?” He starts.

“Please.” You practically whine and pull him back down to you.

With a grin he obliges you and connects your lips again. It is softer and sweeter this time. He doesn’t act like you would flee from him this time. His hands settle on your hips and your hands wander up into his hair.

You fall into a slow rhythm as you feel your body heating up at his touch. He seems so steady as you grow more desperate for him.

His hand moves up under your skirt and you shiver at his touch. Suguru moves from your lips to nip at your neck. You moan as his mouth and fingers explore your body at a languid pace.

You’re addicting to Suguru, you are even better than what he had imagined. He can’t help but look at you as you throw your head back as his fingers graze your entrance.

“Do you know how long I have wanted this?” He breathes against the column of your throat, pressing a gentle kiss to it.

You whimper at his words as he slips a finger into you. He marvels at how tight you are around just one finger, let alone his cock.

“Have you not done this before?” Suguru wonders aloud with a hum.

One of your arms covers your face in embarrassment as you answer, “Only- only you-”

Your words ignite a fire in his very bones.

Suguru is the first and only to ever have you like this. He has claimed you in a way no other can and he will make sure of it. No one is going to take you from him now. He will lock you in his palace if he has to.

A shiver runs through him at the thought of staying here with him, you perched on his lap as he judges souls. He imagines you waiting in his bed for him, your pretty body on display for him and only him.

Gently he removes your arm from your face so he can see you. You look up at him through your eyelashes in pleasure, your cheeks aflame.

“I’m glad to be the only one to see you like this.” He tells you as he adds another finger.

You are a pretty mess under him as he works you open. Your voice rings out in the quiet garden, a song so sweet the muses would fail to recreate it.

“I need more-” You gasp out between moans.

“Just a second more Sweetheart, you're doing so well.” He coos at you as you whimper and whine at him.

Suguru pulls the gold cord holding your dress together to bear you to him. His darkened gaze looks you over in pure desire.

Out of reflex you go to cover yourself but he grabs your hands and pins them above your head.

“Don’t hide from me.” Suguru says and pulls his fingers out of you. Your brows scrunch in frustration at the loss of contact.

He chuckles at the small pout that forms on your lips because he doesn’t plan on making you wait long. Suguru slips out of his clothes and lines his throbbing cock up with your entrance.

Slowly he pushes into you so he doesn’t hurt you. Your nails dig into his back as his cock fully enters you. His breathing gets heavy as you suck him in eagerly. You are so perfect, made specifically for him.

After he gives you time to adjust he begins to move.

Suguru is sure he is in heaven as he thrusts into your tight cunt. You wrap your legs around his waist to pull him closer. Your head is buried in the side of his neck and he feels your panting breaths against his skin.

“I can’t hold on much longer-” You moan out against his neck.

“Cum then Lovely, I am close myself.” He admits and picks up his pace.

Suguru groans as you pulse sweetly around him. Your cunt holds him so tightly he doesn’t want to ever leave it or you. You cum soon after, your release mixing with his precum. He might slip in between your thighs later to clean up the mess he made.

You moan as he fucks you through your orgasm. Your moans and whimpers are a song so sweet the nine muses would fail to recreate it. His thrusts grow erratic as he nears his orgasm.

With a mean snap of his hips he cums deep inside you, claiming you inside and out. You are boneless underneath him, your orgasm leaving you on cloud nine. He presses a soft kiss to your temple in pure devotion.

He moves the two of you to his bed in a wisp of black smoke. You settle on his chest, your breathing still a little heavy. He runs a hand up and down your side in a soothing motion.

“Stay with me.” He asks you.

You smile wide, “Of course.”

Utahime bursts into the main hall of the gods. She startles the crowd of gods as she stomps in. Her face is a mix of anxiety and rage. Dark circles are prominent under her eyes and add to the frantic look in them. She looks around the room as she walks to the center.

“My sister was taken by the God of the dead.” She says as she approaches the throne at the end of the hall.

Yaga looks down at her with a brow raised, “What proof do you have of this?”

“Haibara saw him carry her off.” She declares and Haibara comes forward to give his testimony.

“It was just as dawn broke when I say him disappearing the Goddess of spring in his arms. I have not seen her since.” Haibara explains to him, a sad look on his usually sunny face.

Yaga rubs a hand over his chin in contemplation. He did not want to disturb Suguru but if this is true he will have to intervene. This is going to be a mess.

“Shoko and Satoru.” He summons the Goddess of Witchcraft and the God of Wine to the center of the room.

Shoko has a neutral expression on her face as she walks forward. But he can see through the mask to the pure displeasure of being dragged into this. Satoru looks somewhat amused as he follows her forward.

“Go see if the Goddess is there and if so try to reason with Suguru.” He commands.

“As you wish.”

The room is tense as Shoko leaves, a stormy expression on her face. She is none too pleased to be tasked with a wild goose chase.

Pomegranate Seeds

Walking into the throne room you laugh.

Suguru is sat on his iron throne, which is not out of the ordinary but the crown of violets are new. The souls probably were shocked that he wore something that colorful.

He grins as you enter, the corners of his eyes soften in that way you adore. You join him on the throne, his arms pull you into his lap.

“What did Yuta have to say about your accessory?” You tease him and wrap an arm around his shoulders.

“He was too bewildered to speak this morning, even Nanami was speechless.” Suguru says with a chuckle, “But I think it would look better on you.”

He gently settles the crown on your head.

“Thank you.” You say and lean your head on his shoulder.

The two of you stay there for a moment, just basking in each other's warmth. You long to pull him from his work but you know how dedicated he is to it.

So you will settle for this.

“Well~” A familiar voice has the two of you looking towards the front of the room. “So you can break the rules Suguru!”

Satoru and a Goddess you haven’t met before walk into the throne room. You feel Suguru’s grip tighten on you. In a gesture of comfort you squeeze his shoulder.

“What do you want Satoru?” Suguru asks, his voice holding an undertone of suspicion.

“We came to see if you had kidnapped the Goddess of Spring but it does look that way.” The Goddess comments with a raised brow.

You flush a bright red as you realize how this looks. Suguru, on the other hand, doesn’t look fazed by their comments. His gaze is stormy as he looks down at them.

“How did you get that idea?” You ask them, trying to make up for Suguru's lack of diplomacy.

“Your sister kindly informed the rest of us about it.” Satoru says with an amused expression on his face. “Apparently Haibara saw Suguru haul you off.”

You feel a flicker of confusion since Suguru said he found you at night, not in the morning. Haibara as the god of the sun can see everything as he passes through the sky.

So how did he see Suguru if he found you at night?

“Tell Utahime that she is fine and if she wants to cause a fuss she should come herself.” Suguru tells them, his gaze icy.

“Sadly Yaga asked us to bargain for her safe return.” The Goddess says unimpressed with his glare.

You are sure that this is going to be a mess.

Pomegranate Seeds

Suguru is enraged that Utahime would send someone else to bargain with him rather than coming herself. She was a coward and didn’t deserve you.

“She came into my domain and chose to stay willingly, this is ridiculous.” Suguru says and rubs a thumb down your side.

It was soothing to have you in his arms. Your calming presence was a balm to his anger.

“At least let us take her to tell her sister that.” Shoko tries to reason with him.

“It sounds reasonable Suguru.” You tell him gently, “You know I won’t leave you.”

Suguru knows that, you gave him your word after all. But he doesn’t trust Utahime. She might hide you from him or keep you from him. He can’t let you go now, not now that he has held you in his arms. It would break him if you left and never came back.

So he will just have to tie you to the land of the dead. If you eat of the dead you are tied here. An idea comes to his mind.

“Fine, but I want a moment alone with her Shoko.” Suguru says.

Shoko nods, “As long as you will let her go after Suguru.”

Both Shoko and Satoru walk out of the room, leaving him alone with you. He sighs and turns to you. You smile softly at him, a fond look in your eyes.

“Don’t worry.” You say and kiss him.

He leans into your touch before you pull away from him to get up. Suguru wants to pull you back but he needs to act like he is fine with this. He gets up after you.

Suguru wraps his cloak around you and kisses you on your temple. He takes your hand and puts six pomegranate seeds in your palm.

“For your journey.” Suguru says and leads you to the hall.

Satoru and Shoko are talking amongst themselves as the two of you approach. Well Satoru is talking, Shoko looks annoyed by his presence. He feels a flicker of guilt for dragging them into this.

“All ready?” Satoru asks cheerfully.

You just nod in response and Suguru glares at his friend.

“I will bring her right back!” Satoru exclaims with his hands up in surrender.

As you three leave Suguru watches with a knowing smile. You will come back to him.

He made sure of it.

Pomegranate Seeds

The grand hall of the gods is abuzz as you walk in. All the gods have gathered for a spectacle. They line the room talking amongst themselves but they go quiet as you walk in. You feel their stares as you make your way to the middle of the room.

Yaga sits tall on his throne at the back of the room. His expression is neutral but you can see a twinkle of interest in his eyes. It seems that even the King of the gods loves a good spectacle.

“Sister!” Utahime exclaims and runs to you.

She wraps you in her arms and sobs into your shoulder. You can see the lines of worry on her face and the dark circles under her eyes.

“I am sorry that I worried you.” You apologise softly and hug Utahime back.

Pulling back she shakes her head, “All that matters is that you are back and safe.”

Utahime holds both your hands in hers with a smile.

“About that-” You go to explain the situation she cuts you off.

“What is on your hands?” She asks with a quizzical look on her face.

She turns your hands palm face up to see red stains on them. Her brow scrunches in confusion at your hands. Then a look of horror takes over her face.

“Did you eat fruit from the underworld?” She looks frantically at you.

“Just six pomegranate seeds, nothing more.” You explain and the color drains from her face.

“It looks like he has tied you to the underworld.” Yaga speaks finally.

Utahime looks back at him, “You can do something can’t you?”

Yaga seems to consider this, then speaks,“You ate six seeds, correct?” He asks you.

“Yes.” You clutch Suguru’s cloak tighter for comfort.

“Then you will spend six months of the year in the underworld and half with your sister.” Yaga explains.

A few gasps are heard from the crowd but for the most part the room is silent. Utahime looks devastated at the verdict but no one can oppose the Yaga’s will.

You turn to her and squeeze her hand, “I will be back for spring okay?”

Tears start to form at the corner of her eyes. You wipe them with a swipe of your thumb. She nods her head and you hug her again.

With that you leave in a flurry of petals.

Pomegranate Seeds

Suguru feels your presence as soon as you enter the throne room. He had expected for you to be gone longer but he is by no means complaining.

You are still in his cloak from earlier. He watches as you approach him. You don’t speak to him as you do.

Suguru expects you to scream or hit him. He expects you to curse him for dooming you to stay here.

“You were the crow, weren’t you?” You ask quietly, an emotion in your eyes he can’t understand.

“Yes.” He admits, there is now use in lying to you now, he is ready for the repercussions.

But instead of getting angry or crying you do something he never would have guessed. You grab his collar and pull him down into a kiss. He blinks down at you in surprise then melts into your touch.

His hands rest on your hips when you pull away. You look up at him with a look he hasn’t seen before. It is coy and knowing then he realizes that you knew all along about the seeds.

“How devious of you to keep me here,” You say into his ear, “whatever will I do with you?”

“Anything.” Suguru answers and matches your grin.

He pulls you in for another kiss and you oblige him. Suguru feels your lips on his and your hands in his hair and he feels content.

He knows now that you are going to stay.

Wildflower And Barley

Most of the humans who eventually come into his domain have forgotten his true name. His name has been forgotten in their fear of him.

Hades

They whisper low, trying not to draw any attention from him. As if they whispered the name of his domain it would not get his attention. He knows that they fear him and not respect him like the other gods who reside high on Olympus.

Suguru walks through the cold stone palace that has been in place for thousands of years now. Long draping veils of black hang from open walkways. Nothing grows here so he has no gardens nor trees around his home.

It is barren of life and in Satoru’s words, ‘joy’.

But that’s what this place is supposed to be. His palace is not the place where the souls of the dead go to so there is no need to decorate it lavishly.

It has been a while since both Satoru and Shoko have visited at the same time. It has been a few months maybe, he doesn’t truly run on the human concept of time. It was interesting to him how humans wanted a system to measure time.

From the faint laughter and sounds from the next room over he can tell that they have already made themselves at home. He steps into the room with his arms crossed.

“You two know nothing about the laws of hospitality.” He says and walks over to the table where the two of them lounge without a care.

“Suguru! Must you be so uptight?” Satoru says and grabs a honey cake, “And aren’t rules of hospitality for humans and not gods?”

Suguru huffs and sits down next to Shoko.

“I do think that it is all this stuffy underworld air.” Shoko says and swirls her tea.

“Some of us have important things to do.” He says and grabs a cake to eat.

Gods don’t require food but they do indulge from time to time. The flavour of honey and strawberries is a good mix on Suguru’s tounge.

“Yes, yes!” Satoru says in a mocking tone as he grabs another cake, “We have a duty to the humans to make sure that things go smoothly! You should really break the rules for once in your life!”

Suguru sighes at his friend’s flippant attitude.

“And how would you suggest I do that?” He says with a raised brow.

Satoru puts a hand to his chin as if to think but his blue eyes are alight with amusement.

“The party two days from now!” Satoru says and snaps his fingers, “Everyone is going to be there, even the Goddess of Spring will be in attendance.”

The last comment catches Suguru’s attention. He had not known that a goddess of spring was in the heavens. The newer souls had made conversation briefly about seasons changing but he had not really paid attention to it.

“Goddess of Spring?” He asks and Satoru smirks at his intrigue.

“Yes! She is rarely seen,” He leans closer like he is telling him a secret, “but rumors say she is breathtaking.”

Suguru frowns. He didn't want to know that. But it is just like his friend to only remember the “important things” to relay to him.

“I have no time for such frivolous things.” He says with a huff.

Satoru purses his lips in frustration, “At least think about getting out once and awhile!”

“Sure, I will think about it.”

Wildflower And Barley

Spring, of course, is your favorite time of year. It is when you are at your strongest and you love the flowers and new life your powers cultivate. Each new life is under your careful eye as they grow.

The large forest in front of you is still in deep winter. As you walk through it the snow melts and the trees grow fresh leaves and flowers. Your feet touch the warm earth and the grass that was brown now is a beautiful green. The forest soon gives way to a large field.

Soft snow has set over the rolling hills. But you know that there is beautiful grass and plants laying in wait underneath it.

“Lady Kore!” Nobara, a young flower nymph calls out to you. She approaches you with a bright smile.

“Nobara,” You bekon her to your side, “how was your winter?”

She falls into step with you as you walk into the warming ground.

“Well! Maki visits often.” She explains as you work.

You remember the girl. She was a member of the Moon goddess’s immortal hunting party. Maki was not talkative but Nobara makes up for her quiet nature.

“Do you like this girl?” You ask, trying not to pry but you feel like pushing deeper into her business.

She blushes bright pink as you smile knowingly. So it seems your hypothesis was correct, she does harbor feelings for the huntress. You think it is adorable that she feels the need to hide it from you.

“I am sorry for pushing you out of your comfort zone.” You say and pat her head.

Nobara shakes her head, “It is alright Lady Kore, you are trustworthy.”

You smile down at her, she is a kind girl.

“Let’s get to work, I am sure you are ready to help me?”

“Yes!”

Once your work is done you look around satisfied. Flowers of all colors and kinds have sprung up around the path through the field.

“Lady Kore! Lady Kore!” Nobara says and runs over with something in her hands.

You turn to see a flower crown in her hands. A crown made of daisies, yellow roses and forget-me-nots is gently placed on your head. Nobara smiles up at her work and you thank her.

“Thank you, Nobara.” You say and walk over to a nearby cherry blossom tree. You sit down and Nobara follows your example. She starts on another crown, you assume it is for Maki who is coming to the field later.

Wildflower And Barley

After a night of contemplation, Suguru has decided to go to the surface for a while. It couldn't hurt to take an afternoon to look around.

So he set aside his work for a while and began to make his way to the surface. He moves through the surface’s shadows. It is mundane, humanity going through their lives like normal. He finally stops in a forest.

What he supposed is spring has just come to the forest. The snow has melted, leaving puddles in the earth. Water drips down from the leaves to catch on the budding flowers growing from the ground. He must admit the fresh spring forest is nice.

Suguru follows the path through the forest and looks around at the life there. After seeing so much death for years it is an abrupt change from his norm. Young deer wonder around the forest under the strict watch of their mothers, small wild flowers pop out of the underbrush and the trees are green and new.

When the forest parts a field full of flowers awaits him. Flowers of every color and kind dot the landscape. He even sees some he doesn’t recognize. Suguru is sure that they don’t grow naturally so a nymph or a god would have something to do with this.

His suspicion is proven correct when he catches sight of you.

None of the thousands of flowers that grow in the field compare to you. Your kind eyes, soft facial features and smile captivate him to no end. The light pink of your dress highlights the flush in your cheeks. You sit under a cherry blossom tree with a young nymph at her side. The two of you are making soft conversation with each other.

Suguru is sure that he was struck by one of Eros’s arrows the moment he looked at you. Your warm laughter fills the field and Suguru feels so very exposed. His normal gloomy mask is far out of his reach.

He feels so very human at this moment.

Wildflower And Barley

You feel something’s presence, but looking up you see no one there. It is strange. You are sure you felt something. Resolving to remain vigilant, you turn back to Nobara. She is recounting a story about Maki’s lastest hunt with the moon goddess.

You had met the goddess a few times in passing. She was easy to get along with and is rarely in the heavenly court, preferring to stay with her hunters and hounds. You can see why Maki likes the goddess’s company.

In your time as a goddess you have not seen the other gods a lot. Your sister has been protective of you so you rarely interact with the other gods. The only time you really interact with the other gods is when you go to the parties celebrating the seasons.

Your domain is a time of hard work for humans. They begin to plant the seeds for their crops and clean out everything in preparation for summer.

It is a beautiful time and you will never be tired of this time of year. Since most humans begin to get out of their homes more they give out more offerings. The gods decided to hold a celebration every spring.

Even though the party is two days away you are excited to plan out which flowers to place around the grand hall. You spend the rest of your time in the field thinking which flowers would look good next to the cold marble.

Wildflower And Barley

Suguru paces.

That’s all his body allows him to do as his mind races. He tries to calm the beat of his heart but for once his heart is stubborn and beats fast as he thinks of you. You looked so at home among the flowers, as if you had been born of them. Your melodic laughter still rings in his ears.

And how he wants to bask in your gentle glow. To feel your fingers on his skin, in his hair, on his chest where his heart beats wildly for you. He would give up everything he has to hold you.

With a drawn out sigh he slumps down on his iron throne and his mind conjures up an image of you sitting in a matching one next to him.

“God- I have gone insane.” He mutters and slides a hand down his face.

“Oh? Do tell!”

Suguru looks down to see Satoru sauntering up the dais to him. He has the same self satisfied look on his face as always.

“It is nothing.” Suguru says trying not to let anything slip.

Satoru narrows his eyes at him suspiciously.

“Do I need to get Shoko to get the answer from you?” He says with his arms crossed obviously displeased with Suguru’s answer.

Suguru scoffs, “Shoko has no control over me.”

“Maybe but you and I both know not to get on her bad side.” Satoru says with a shrug.

“Like I said-” Suguru stands up, “It is nothing.”

Satoru look wholeheartedly unconvinced but lets it go. Instead he switches tactics.

“So, about that party!”

It now makes sense why he is here.

“What about it?” Suguru asks.

“Do you want to go with me? Even Shoko will be there.” Satoru pushes.

Suguru genuinely thinks about it. He never goes to the many parties thrown on the mountain but maybe he might get a glimpse of you. A light blush overtakes his face at the thought.

“I will go.”

Wildflower And Barley

Suguru doesn’t sleep that night.

Gods don’t require sleep but when there is no one awake Suguru tries to sleep. His mind won’t let him be. He curses Eros for his meddling nature.

When he lays down in the too large, too cold bed all he can think about is you. Rolling over he imagines that you are sleep beside him. He would cup your cheek gently and pull you closer.

Maybe if you were in his arms he could sleep.

Nanami doesn’t comment on his dark circles in the morning. He has always been very uninterested in Suguru’s personal life and the feeling goes both ways. Their relationship is only on a work basis.

“-I was a good person!” The soul yells up at him.

Suguru looks down, unimpressed, “You killed your own son.”

The souls flounders for something to say. He doesn’t seem to realize that Suguru can see his whole life. A big mistake on his part.

Suguru rubs his right temple as the soul begins to excuse his actions.

“Well-“

“You murdered your own kin, a grievous mistake. You are lucky I didn’t send the furies after you for that.” Suguru explains and with a flick of his hand the soul is sent to the fields of punishment.

Nanami walks over to him and a somewhat sour expression on his face. Suguru raises an eyebrow in question.

“You have been moody this morning.” He comments and Suguru wishes that Nanami didn’t.

If Nanami is commenting on it, that means that his inner turmoil is plain on his face.

“I am not in the mood for your concern.” Suguru states, his gaze stormy.

Nanami makes no further comment but Suguru is sure that Haibara will hear of it and then Haibara will tell Satoru. It will snowball into a big thing if Suguru doesn’t do something about it now.

“I just need air.” Suguru sighs deeply, standing up from his throne.

It wasn’t entirely a lie but he would rather trade places with Prometheus then tell anyone about his sudden longing for you.

Much to Suguru’s relief he accepts the excuse. Nanami nods his head and disappears in a wisp of smoke, most likely to visit Haibara.

When he is gone Suguru decides to do something he shouldn’t.

He decides to see you.

Wildflower And Barley

You place the last flowers in place for the party. The grand hall is covered in flowers of all shapes, kinds and colors. It is a vibrant celebration of the spring, a celebration of you.

“The colors are beautiful.” Utahime says from beside you, a soft look in her gaze.

“I was thinking of adding more roses next year, they are gaining popularity in the human world.” You explain and coax out a few water lilies from the grand fountain.

“You don't need to worry about the humans, just the spring.” Utahime says and crosses her arms.

“They give us worship so they are under my care, even if it is only for half the year.” You remind her and stand back up to look her in the eye.

She looks displeased but doesn’t make any more comments on it.

You love her but she is so overprotective of you. It’s almost like she believes you would disappear if you weren’t in her sight at all times. Even if it is out of love, it is still overbearing.

“I am going to the human realm for a while.” You say and surprisingly she does fight you on it.

Hopefully she will begin to loosen her grip.

Wildflower And Barley

This was a bad idea.

Suguru tries to think of a way to get close to you without revealing himself. You would notice, you surely would not just let the God of the dead be near you so easily. You must know of him and his reputation by now.

A rustle of the trees nearby has him looking up. In the afternoon skies is a crow. The bird caws loudly as it takes flight. He watches it fly away and is struck with an idea.

Suguru feels his body morph into that of a large crow. He experimentally flaps his wings and is satisfied as they move the way he wants them to. He has never shifted before, he never needed too until now.

With unwavering determination he takes to the sky like the crow he had just seen. His light body flies far above the treeline. The world is so small from up here but he spots you immediately.

You are wrapped in an emerald green dress that blends into the grass around your feet. The cherry blossom petals have fallen off the tree and some have found their way into your hair.

Suguru circles overhead a few times before landing a few feet from you.

He feels your gaze wander over to him. Trying to keep up the act he walks around the field. He is not one for flowers but these are your flowers, so he bends down to look closer at them. A soft giggle catches his attention.

You have a hand over your mouth as he looks up at you. Suguru can see the laughter in your eyes. He doesn’t know what you find so funny about him looking at the flowers but for the sweet sound coming out of your mouth he would do anything. Against his better judgment he walks closer to you.

He is used to being shunned by the other gods so he is prepared for you to run from him. But you don’t shoo him away or flee from him. No, you lift out and arm for him to perch, you smile and beckon him closer.

Suguru takes the invitation you offer. His heart beats out of his chest as you look over his wings. He stretches out a wing for your curious gaze to fall on. You hum and run a finger along the column of his throat.

“Your plumage is beautiful.” You compliment him.

Suguru can’t help but preen and puff out his chest a little under your praise. He can’t tell if it is an animalistic instinct or his own desire to show off in front of you.

“And a little full of yourself.” You remark with another laugh.

Suguru lowers his head in embarrassment at your words.

“I apologise,” You coo to him softly, “I didn’t mean any harm with my teasing, kind visitor.”

He pauses at your last two words.

Would you still believe that if you knew who he was? If he reveals himself would you still smile at him like that?

His mind swims with those questions as you begin to talk to him.

Wildflower And Barley

You enjoy the parties that are thrown on Olympus, on the rare occasion you go, so you do your best to make each one count.

But the party thrown for you is by far your favorite. You have free reign to show off the season you adore so. They get to see that you are not some fragile thing that needs the protection of her younger sister.

For one night a year you are free and you are going to make the most of it.

You walk up the white marble stairs of the great hall. The flowers perk up at your arrival, they lean in as you pass. Reaching down you pick up a poppy and put it into your hair.

The grand hall is abuzz with people. Most of them talk among themselves and sip on ambrosia. You walk in and a few wave at you as you pass; smiling in return you wave back at them.

Momentarily you catch someone’s eye.

He is standing against one of the white marble columns. His dark hair is tied back and his lavender eyes widen as you stare at him. You smile over at him pleasantly as you pass by. He is quite handsome, his face is pulled into a scowl as he looks over at Yuki who is saying something to him.

You watch, puzzled, as he storms out of the hall. A part of you wants to chase after him but a voice rings out behind you.

“Well-” You turn to see a god with white hair and bright blue eyes approaching you. “You must be the elusive Goddess of Spring!”

“I don’t think I am that much of a shut in.” You say with a polite laugh.

He gives you a grin and tips a glass of wine to you, “I must thank you for your season because I couldn’t make my wine without it.”

This man must be the God of Wine, Satoru.

“I must decline your thanks,” You refuse with a kind smile, “I just perform my duty.”

Satoru laughs, it is a loud and boisterous sound.

“You really are too humble!”

You are about to speak again but the man is already walking off in the direction of a nymph holding a tray of ambrosia wine. He seems to be the type of person who loses interest easily.

Trying to reorient yourself you remember the man who walked out. It shouldn’t be rude to at least look for him and you want some fresh air anyway.

Yuki is very outspoken, you have seen it personally and an avid matchmaker. It may be that she said something with the motive of helping but it came off as rude. Hopefully you can help repair the situation for your friend.

You walk out of the wide arch way into one of the many courtyards. It is lined with trees and has a grand fountain in the center. You look around before your eyes catch on the man from before. The man is sitting on the edge of the fountain, his robes draping on the ground.

Slowly you walk over to him. His eyes shoot up to yours as you approach. He stands up abruptly and goes to leave.

“You don’t have to leave on my account!” You exclaim and go to grab his hand.

He looks shocked as you move to touch him. You note that he doesn’t like physical touch and withdraw your hand. His eyes study you for a moment before turning around to fully face you.

“I wouldn’t want to disturb you.” He says.

“Of course not!” You say, “You were here first and I can find a different garden to hide in.”

He looks confused before speaking again, “Why would you want to hide from your own party?”

You sigh and sit down on the edge of the fountain. He follows suit and looks at you.

“As much as I like parties, sometimes they can be a lot for me.” You admit.

The man nods, “I’m only here because my best friend dragged me.”

“Do you really hate the parties that much?” You ask curiously, turning your gaze to his.

“Most people don’t feel comfortable around me because of my domain, so I tend to avoid them.” He explains to you.

Looking down at the ground you try to understand his words. He seems like a pleasant person and why would someone’s domain be a reason why they are shunned? It doesn’t make sense to you but you hum to show that you are listening.

“I don’t feel uncomfortable around you.” You say and look back up at him.

His lavender eyes are wide as he looks back at you, a spark of something in them you can’t decipher. You want to ask him more questions but a voice cuts through the calm of the moonlit garden.

“Get away from her!”

You look up to see Utahime stomping over, her face twisted in fury. The man stands up and his posture is tense. Standing up as well you walk closer to your sister.

“I should have never left you alone.” She says and grabs your wrist.

“Why do you mean?” You exclaim, “I am just talking to someone!”

She looks at you then and her face softens slightly. It doesn’t last long before her gaze turns to the man you were talking with.

“I don’t want you conversing with the God of the dead.” She says but it isn’t fully directed at you.

His words now make sense.

You had never met the God of the Dead but you had heard rumors. They all said that he was a man with a terrible personality. He was rageful, hurting anyone in his path.

But this man isn’t that way. He seems genuinely considerate of others and talked with you when he could have easily avoided you. So why are you being pulled away?

You look back as Utahime drags you out of the garden. His gaze is stormy but it clears slightly as you look back at him. You see his right hand twitch as if he is holding back from reach for you.

As you reach the white marble steps of the entrance you wrestle out of her grip.

“Why are you doing this?” You ask and she turns around to you.

“That man is dangerous! If he was here I wouldn’t have let you come here.” Utahime says frustration in her voice.

“You don’t let me do anything!” You say and walk closer to her, she looks shocked.

“That’s not-” She tries to speak but you cut her off.

“You seem to forget who is older here, sister. I can go where I like and converse with who I like.” You yell, “For the last few years I have let you have control because it makes you feel secure but this is too much!”

Utahime looks hurt but you have had enough.

“I am leaving.” You state with finality in your tone.

“Wait-” She says frantically and reaches for you but you are gone in a flurry of flower petals.

When you blink your eyes open again you are standing in your flower field.

You cry then. Big, hot tears fall down your cheeks as you sit under the cherry blossom tree. The tree sways around you in a soothing manner and the wild flowers around your feet reach up as if to dry your tears.

After you have exhausted your tears you lean back against the trunk of the tree for comfort. You could just stay here. You don’t have to go back to face her.

A caw breaks you out of your mind.

You recognize the same crow from yesterday, his onyx wings almost blend into the night. He lands next to you and peers up at you. Reaching out a hand he hops on, his eyes study your face and you give him a sad smile.

“Thank you for visiting again, I think I need companionship right now.” You admit, your voice is still thick with tears.

The crow looks concerned as another round of tears prick at your eyes. You let the tears fall and the crow coos softly in comfort. Running a hand over his head he nuzzles into it, what a smart crow he is.

“Do you know a place I can run away to?” You ask him, “You must have seen many places so can you take me somewhere?”

His eyes widen at your question, the specs of lavender in them sparkling at your request.

You shake your head at your own foolishness, this crow can’t help you. He probably doesn’t even know what you are saying to him. With a sigh you close your eyes, you will just sleep here tonight then figure out what to do in the morning.

Wildflower And Barley

Suguru looks down at your sleeping form. You look so peaceful here, your lips parted softly as you breathe. He wants to reach out and touch you, to feel you under his fingers.

He stops himself.

You may have given him permission to take you, but you don’t know that. He could take advantage of this. He whisk you away to his palace and keep you there. Suguru could take you and use your own words against you. His eyes trace the tear tracks on your cheeks. If he was any lesser man he might take advantage of you.

A shiver runs through you and he wraps his cloak around your shoulders. He looks down at you wrapped in his clothing and his body makes the decision for him.

Suguru puts an arm behind your back and his other arm supports your legs. He moves slowly so as not to wake you. To his surprise you don’t stur, just move to get comfortable in his arms. Your eyelashes flutter in sleep but besides that you are blissfully unaware of everything.

The sun peaks over the horizon as Suguru disappears with you in a wisp of smoke. He just hopes that no one saw him take you.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

Your love life is… horrendous, you are even being nice about it.

The last date you had gone on had told you that he just “wasn’t ready for anything serious”, only to turn around and change his status to in a relationship within two days after that. But he was the latest in the line of terrible dates you had gone on within the past two years.

You had tried almost everything but you had come to one conclusion-

“I am going to end up a lonely cat lady!” You whine and lay your head down on the cafe table. Utahime looks down at you over the rim of her mug. Her brown eyes look a bit amused at your horrible situation.

“I really doubt it,” She says and pats your head, “Men just suck.”

You want to argue but you remember one of your dates saying that “if you just lost some weight you would be so hot”, so you just groan instead of saying yes. Men do suck or maybe just the ones you match with on shitty dating apps are.

“What do I do?” You ask and shift your head to the side so you can look up at your friend.

“To be honest, you just need to be comfortable with yourself. Practice self love first, then good men will find you.” She explains and sips her tea.

“Maybe you are right.” You agree, still feeling defeated. “Do you have a quick fix for my self love?”

She snorts, “Are you asking for a love potion?”

“You said it, not me!” You remark with a laugh and sit up.

Utahime rolls her eyes good naturedly.

“Give me a few days and I will drop it off, but-” Her face turns serious, “only use a small amount. And I would suggest only drinking it when you are alone and infuse it into something so the effects are minimal. Otherwise you could fall in love with your reflection or someone random.”

You readily nod, how hard could that be?

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

After you take a little bit of that love potion for a week you see results. You feel better and as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. When you go out you don’t scrutinize yourself for your weight or how you look. Your deep set insecurities fade into the background as you look at yourself. It feels so good.

Today is a quiet day for you. Saturdays are one of your off days so you designated it as a chill day. No big agenda or anything to do, just basking in that fact that you don’t have to do anything, which is the best kind of day.

You wake up at nine-thirty but lay in bed for a half hour before getting up to make breakfast. The sun shines in through your sliding glass door out to the small balcony. It engulfs the morning in a warm glow as you start the coffee pot. Starting breakfast you crack a few eggs into a pan and turn on the stove.

While the coffee brews and you cook your eggs on a low heat, you pull out your tarot deck for a quick morning reading. You usually work mornings so when you have an opportunity for a morning read you feel giddy. The deck is familiar and comfortable in your hands as you shuffle the cards.

After you feel like they are sufficiently shuffled you pull out three cards and lay them face down. You flip the first card and wince. The tower glares up at you as you feel very uncomfortable at its presence.

So it looks like you will be having a crisis, delightful.

“Okay-” You say to yourself and take a deep breath, “let’s see what is going on.”

You flip over the next card to see the ace of cups. That is significantly better than the tower. A new emotional connection but is that before or after the crisis or is that the crisis? You sigh and already feel yourself overthinking.

The last card is flipped and you feel a bit better about all of this. The sun card shines like a beacon of hope in this reading. A calm after the storm, a peace after a time of crisis. It looks like the crisis will happen first, a new emotional connection will somehow be involved but happiness will come after.

You snap a picture of the reading and send it to the group chat with Utahime, Shoko and Yuki.

______

You

Guess who is going to

have a crisis?

Yuki

Don’t you have a crisis

every other week?

Shoko

Don’t be rude

Utahime

Yeah, it’s every two weeks Yuki

You

I don’t know why I am friends

with you guys

Yuki

Because you love us?

______

You roll your eyes at your friends and go back to your eggs.

The rest of your morning and early afternoon go well. You eat your breakfast, work on some personal projects and lay around watching tv. Occasionally you get a text from the group chat but it is mostly about things unrelated to your upcoming crisis.

You are sitting on your couch at about four o'clock, starting a book that you have been putting off reading, when you realize that you haven’t started on dinner yet. It is a bit early but you can feel hunger start to creep in. Putting a bookmark in your place you close the book and get up.

The cabinets are almost bear except for a lone box of spaghetti noodles. You grab it out of the cabinet and set it on the counter. Looking in the fridge you don’t see any sauce so you may have to settle for garlic butter pasta. You see some chicken that you can put in it.

“Score!”

Grabbing out the chicken you put it next to everything else and get to work on your makeshift dinner. You turn on the stove, put the pan on it and cut the chicken. You season the chicken well before put it on the pan to cook.

You are craving more coffee so you put on another pot. In addition to the water you put in a tablespoon of that love potion just for fun. You don’t plan on seeing anyone today so you want to mess with the dose a bit.

Once you have the coffee on you walk out to water your hoard of plants on your balcony. Most of them had been gifts but your favorite is the lavender plant you had been given as a housewarming gift.

You suspect you will have to replant her soon so she can grow better. She is one of the plants you use the most in your teas and recipes because of lavender’s calming qualities. Utahime also uses lavender in her witch stuff so you are technically her supplier.

The sound of another sliding door breaks you out of your thoughts. To your right the sliding door opens and a man steps out with a pack of cigarettes. Both of you look equally shocked to see each other. Then you remember that you are still in your pajamas.

He looks at you and you look back. Trying to break the awkward silence the man gives you a small wave. You quickly wave back before going back to watering your many plants.

Normally you would not care but this man is different. He and his friend had moved in about a year ago. You had immediately noticed him. Maybe it was the hair, tattoos or gauges; but no matter what it was you were hooked.

He was cleverly dubbed, “Hot neighbor guy” in your circle of friends. You kept them updated on all the small details you had picked up about him. Like that he really likes rock music and that his hands are usually stained with paint.

So now you try not to stare at his broad shoulders that are on full display in his black tank top. His side profile is accentuated by the evening sun behind him. You need to be normal, friendly but not too much-

“Why do you have so many plants?”

You immediately jump out of your skin at his sudden question, then smoothly respond,

“What?”

A blush tints your cheeks as you debate running away into the woods and never returning.

This man has the audacity to lean over the rail towards you with a cigarette between his teeth and repeat his question.

“Why do you have so many plants? I always wondered why you had so many.”

“Oh! Most of them were gifts in high school,” You say and stand up straight after you finish watering your last plant, “I had a phase and now feel obligated to keep them alive.”

He chuckles a bit and lights the cigarette, “I get that, I took in a stray once and now I am stuck living with him.”

“Your roommate?” You ask and he nods.

“He has little to no self preservation so I get to save him from himself.”

You laugh and he smiles, his snake bites becoming more prominent on his lips.

“How did you-” You start to say only to be cut off by the smoke alarm screaming at you.

Your chicken is burning.

Not wasting any time you fling open your door and turn off the burner. After you run to the smoke alarm to try to reset it. Only to find that it is too far up the wall for you to reach. Now you were not short but it is ridiculously high up on your wall.

Your quickly thought out plan B was to beat the alarm with a couch cushion. Whether it was to hopefully dislodge the thing from the wall or fan away the smoke you don’t know but what else can you do? Sadly your brilliant idea doesn’t work so you just beat your wall with a cushion and hope it stops soon.

A knock at your door makes you give up on your valiant attempt at stopping the shrieking alarm. With a sense of defeat you walk to the door. Couch cushion in hand you open the front door to see “Hot neighbor guy” at your door. This is probably his first impression of you, a woman who has too many plants and burns chicken, how great.

“Do you need help?” He asks, because of course he is still nice to you, with genuine concern on his face.

“If you don’t mind!” You say trying to be cheerful as your reputation with this guy lies tattered on the ground between you, “If not I will just wait for it to stop.”

The corners of his lips quirk up at your tone. You move aside to let him in, you are then immediately struck by the fact that you haven’t cleaned up your apartment enough for it to be prepared for someone to come over. But it is far too late as he walks to the alarm.

He reaches up, his shirt riding up, to grab the alarm. Your eyes, attracted by the movement, travel down to see a tiger tattoo on his hip. You don’t look at that and you won’t think about it later either. He pushes a button and the alarm goes blissfully silent. You sigh in relief and he chuckles.

“Well, at least you can take care of plants because your prospects of becoming a handyman are slim.” He says with a grin.

“The only thing holding me back is irritatingly high placed smoke alarms, other than that I would do great.” You say back then turn a bit shy as you continue, “Thank you though, is there anything I can do to repay you?”

“Well now that the smoke is gone I can smell coffee, can I have some?” He asks you and reaches out his hand, “And I am Suguru by the way.”

“Nice to meet you Suguru,” You respond and take his outstretched hand. His palms are bit rough as he shakes your hand and you introduce yourself.

“And I am happy to share my coffee!” You agree with a smile and turn to go back to the kitchen. He follows you and waits by your island. You grab a mug out of the cupboard for him. “Do you like cream or sugar?”

“No, black will be just fine.” He says and sits on one of the stools.

After pouring the coffee you slide the cup over and he takes it gently. His hands are larger than yours and you see faint patches of dried purple paint.

“Let me go put back the cushion.” You say and walk into the living room. With a soft hum you arrange the cushions in their proper place.

Looking back you see that your work is good and begin to make your way to the kitchen. As you enter the kitchen you come to a halt as you look at the coffee pot. You then realize that you put the love potion into the water for the coffee.

Oh no.

Subtly you glance over at Geto who sips the coffee blissfully unaware of your fuck up. He looks fine? There isn’t any change in behavior so far. So you decide to make yourself some coffee and observe instead of doing anything irrational.

You reach up and get another mug only for Suguru to hand it down to you. His chest is almost against your back as he hands it to you. Your breath hitches slightly as he doesn’t move too far from you as you pour yourself coffee. His hands ghost your waist and you are ninety-nine percent sure that it has kicked in.

What the hell do you do?!

“Your really cute like this.” He says and it’s dangerously low. You shiver at the tone of his voice.

“Suguru?” You ask, trying to act nonchalant and not like you are having a crisis.

“I like the way you say my name.” He says and you turn so you can see him. That was a bad move because he puts his hands on the counter behind you, closing you in.

Your breath is short and your heart is pounding in your chest. Suguru’s eyes trail down from your eyes to your slightly parted lips. He isn’t even discreet about it.

Before you can come up with any semblance of a plan to get out of this predicament your brain shuts off.

Suguru leans in and kisses you. It starts off slow and sweet. His mouth moves against yours softly, like he is savoring the taste of you. You wonder what you taste like to him. He tastes like black coffee, you usually don’t like black coffee but you don’t mind it if Suguru is kissing you.

You lean in, chasing his kiss and his tongue enters your mouth. Moaning a bit you feel his head tilt so he can get further. He swallows up your moans greedily.

Suguru pulls back for just a second so he can turn you both around. You are a little confused about what he is doing until he picks you up and sets you on the island. In the heat of the moment you open your legs so he can slot himself between them.

His mouth crashes back into yours quickly after. You run a hand up into his hair, trying to find purchase as he kisses you like a man possessed. Accidentally you tug and he groans into your mouth. His hands grip your hips tightly as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer.

Suguru moves from your mouth to your neck. He nibbles on your neck and you jolt at the sudden sensation. You begin to grind down as he chuckles against your skin. The cold metal of his snake bites turn you on even more as he kisses where he was biting your skin like a peace offering.

His right hand moves from your hips to your tigh and you remember that you should be pushing him away. This isn’t really him, just a signifect of that potion. Still breathing heavily you push him back. He looks a little confused but doesn’t complain about you push him off.

“I- uh- don’t want to go that far yet!” You squeak out, both your hands on his shoulders. “Not that it is bad in any way-”

Suguru blinks a bit before nodding at your words, “Sorry, I was far too forward.”

“No! Your fine, it just me that is the problem.” You inwardly groan as you use that stupid line. “Are you free tomorrow?”

He seems to think about this before nodding.

“I am free about two if you want to go out?” You suggest to him.

He obviously isn’t in his right mind and you don’t want to take advantage of that. You would feel horrible if you caused him pain. Hopefully he will have snapped out of it by the time for your date rolls around or have forgotten this entirely.

Suguru smiles at you and your legs feel weak, “See you at two then.”

With a quick peck to your lips, and him putting his phone number in your phone, Suguru excuses himself from your apartment, leaving you reeling on your kitchen counter.

You sit there for a second absorbing what happened within the last fifteen minutes of your life. Reaching a hand up you feel your lips that Suguru was kissing just a minute ago.

Hoping down off the counter you feel that your legs are still weak from all that. But that doesn’t stop you from getting to your phone and frantically pressing on Utahime’s contact. She will hopefully know how to help you.

The phone rings three times before she picks up.

“Hey!” She says more excited then you are because of your current situation.

“Hey…” You say cautiously and you can practically hear her eyes narrow in suspicion.

“What happened?” Utahime asks you

“So I might have burnt my chicken talking to ‘Hot neighbor guy’,” Utahime snorts at your opening statement, “then he fixed my smoke alarm- which was so hot by the way- anyway as repayment I gave him a cup of coffee- which may have that love potion you gave to me infused in it.”

Dead silence.

“How much did he have?” She asks you slowly.

“Enough to furiously make out with me on my counter for five minutes.” You answer quickly.

Utahime groans, “How much did you put into the coffee?”

“Oh!” You say, understanding what she meant now, “I used about a tablespoon.”

“Okay so it should wear off in about a day.” Utahime says with relief.

You check the clock and it is just a bit before five. So you just have to wait until five for it to wear off. Your heart deflates a little at the idea of not going on a real date with him but love potions are cheating in the war that is modern dating.

“That’s good.” You answer, “Also do you think my black crop top looks better with my flare jeans or that cute slit skirt with stars on it?”

You hear a hum on the other end of the line as she thinks, “Skirt would be better since it is getting warmer but I would pair it with a sweater.”

“I agree, also tell Shoko Hi for me!”

“Good luck.” She says and you hang up the call.

Now you just need to survive this date and hopefully the potion will have worn off by then. As long as you play it cool you will past this crisis.

You can totally do that.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

Suguru has always been a very calm and controlled person. He prides himself on his restraint and his patience. So he doesn’t understand what just happened. Not that he didn’t want to- but where did that come from?

Suguru had noticed you as soon as they moved in. You had passed by him in the hallway when he was moving his stuff in. He had been so distracted by you and your smile and bright eyes. Satoru laughed his ass off when he almost dropped the box he was carrying in because he was staring at you.

His eyes would always search the hallway for you when he would go to his classes or the studio where he painted most of the time. You would always just be entering your apartment as he would make his way up the stairs. He would always just miss you so when he managed to see you on your balcony he had internally cheered.

And when your smoke alarm went off he practically sprinted across the apartment, out his door and to yours to help you. Satoru had laughed at his mad dash but Suguru didn’t care. He found it endearing that you even offered him a chance to help you.

But after that cup of coffee he felt more desperate for you. Like there was a burning feeling under his skin and the only thing that could help was your touch. His overwhelming need for you and your attention seemed to override all his critical thinking.

Suguru debates pulling his own hair out at the fact he was so close to fucking you on your counter and you didn’t seem confident in pushing him off of you. You probably think he is some fuck-boy trying to get into your pants and he is really ashamed of that.

Slowly he opens the apartment door to an expectant Satoru. He sits on the couch with an amused expression. Debating whether or not to avoid this conversation altogether Suguru walks over to the coffee table where his pack of cigarettes are.

“Sooo” Satoru says with a grin, “when is the wedding?”

Suguru glares at him hard.

Satoru puts his hands up in a placating gesture, “Just asking! She did let you help her right?”

“Yep.” Suguru says, hoping that he doesn’t delve deeper.

But it is never that easy with Satoru.

“And?” He pushes leaning forward in his seat like he is watching a drama.

“I made out with her on her kitchen counter.”

There is a long pause as they stare at each other.

“And you came back, why?”

“I didn’t want her to think that I just want to fuck her.” Suguru says and puts his cigarettes in his pocket, “Most of us give the people we are pursuing a bit more space then you do.”

Satoru scoffs at his comment.

“I give Nanamin space! He seems to even be enjoying my company right now.” He defends himself.

“If that helps you sleep better at night.” Suguru says with a shrug.

“Don’t change the subject!” Satoru squawks.

Suguru sighes and sits down. His best friend’s interrogation will not end soon so he might as well make himself comfortable.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

The morning of the date you can’t really settle down.

During the hours of six through nine you wake up five times. Eventually you give up and check your phone. Then for a while you check your phone obsessively for a text saying that the date is off or he is “sick”. But one never comes. Which might be more concerning now that you think about it.

You clean your whole apartment and do all the laundry you have put off for a week. The only thing you haven’t done is wash your windows, which you might do in a minute. Looking at the time you throw the washing the windows idea out the metaphorical window.

The clock reads one and you need to get ready.

Normally when you get ready for a date you feel like you are dressing for a wake. But as you get showered and dressed you feel an underlying giddiness. You listen to more upbeat music as you do your hair and makeup. It is such a 180 turn from usual.

It is probably because it’s Suguru. He seems to be a good person from what you know so far, plus he is an excellent kisser. You try to remind yourself that it might not really be him but you can let yourself just enjoy today and wear it takes you can’t you?

Humming to the random pop song you have on in the background you admire the outfit Utahime suggested and you like it. You are not fully covered up but still warm because of the tights and sweater. It is a tasteful mix of the two and perfect for a first date.

You leave your bathroom and make your way to the living room to put on a pair of small heels. Since he didn’t cancel you decided to take him to a cat cafe downtown, since you don’t have a car you will have to walk so you want to not have your feet hurt. The kitten heels complement both the black and silver of your skirt nicely.

Right on time at exactly two a knock comes at your front door. All the nervous energy hits you as you walk to the door. You take a deep breath before opening your door to see Suguru standing there.

He looks good. A loose band tee hangs off his frame along with an oversized jacket. But the thing that draws your attention is the skinniest skinny jeans known to man that he is wearing. You have seen men wear skinny jeans but not that tight. And you might be very into that.

His long black hair is tied up and away from his face and you can see an undercut. You really want to run your hand over it.

“Hi.” He greets you with a small smile.

“Hi.” You respond but it comes out a bit shyer than you want it too.

“Are you ready?” He asks you and leans an arm on the frame of your door.

“Yes, I just need to grab my purse.” You say a giddiness to your voice.

For a second you leave him there and disappear into your apartment to get your purse. When you return he has moved away from your door and is rocking back and forth on his feet. He immediately stops as you lock and close your door behind you.

“So where are we going?” Suguru asks you as you walk away from your door.

“It is a surprise!” You say and press the down button to summon the elevator.

“How mysterious.” He says with a grin as you enter the elevator.

“I have to keep you interested somehow.” You match his grin as you hit the ground floor button.

“My interest is peaked.”

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

In the few short minutes that you are leading him downtown Suguru decides he really likes walking behind you. There is something about how you carry yourself that makes him think that he would follow you anywhere. You could lead him into hell and he probably wouldn’t notice it.

Satoru would call him a dog on a leash but he doesn’t mind if it is you.

As the crowd gets more dense as you enter Shinjuku you reach back and grab his hand, “I don’t want to lose you in the crowd.”

“I think I could be easily found because of my height, you on the other hand are more at risk.” Suguru teases you and squeezes your hand.

“I could just leave you.” You grumble as he walks faster to catch up with you. And the faint blush on your cheeks doesn’t escape his vision.

The two of you walk hand in hand for a while before you pull him into a cafe. It is smaller than the other stores and restaurants on the streets of Shinjuku. The light brown and cream colored walls give the cafe a cozy feel. But the main attraction is the hoard of cats that are walking around.

He can feel your eyes looking at him, trying to see if he likes it.

“This is a cute place,” Suguru says and looks down at you, “I have never been here before.”

Your eyes light up and his heart stutters in his chest. Suguru feels like he could live on just that expression of yours. He has never been a romantic before, despite his inclination towards art, but you bring out a new side to him.

Suguru wants to paint this expression so he can look at it forever.

His trance is broken as a woman walks up to you. Her blonde hair is tied up and her eyes look at the both of you as if she is trying to decipher what is going on with the both of you. He sees you get nervous as she walks closer.

“Hi Yuki…” You say as if you are about to be scolded.

The woman, Yuki, raises an eyebrow, “Who is this?”

“This is Suguru,” You pause before continuing, “he lives next door.”

Yuki’s eyes light up with understanding and a smile spreads on her face.

“Suguru- I have heard a lot about you.” She says and reaches out a hand for him to shake.

Suguru, now self conscious, takes her hand and shakes it. What have you told her? Does she not approve of him? Is he making a good first impression?

“All good I hope.” He replies and tries to calm his nerves.

“Very good.” Yuki assures him, “You have the pick of any table and can I get you any drinks?”

“The strawberry boba sounds good, I haven’t gotten a chance to try it.” You say with a smile and squeeze his hand.

“I will just have a coffee.” Suguru says.

“Okay, I will have that out shortly.” She says and walks off.

As she leaves you relax and he looks at you in concern as you sigh.

“I forgot to tell her about our date,” You admit as you pull him by the hand to a corner table, “there will most likely be anarchy in our group chat soon.”

He snorts and sits down in the chair near the window. Suguru mourns the loss of not being able to hold your hand. You sit down across from him and a loud ping comes from your phone. The first ping is followed by many more before you eventually put your phone on vibrate.

“Good luck with your friend group, my best friend already interrogated me yesterday.” Suguru says with a grin.

“I will need it, Shoko will have my head for this.” You admit with a sigh.

“Shoko Ieri?” Suguru asks in disbelief.

“Yeah! Do you know her?” You ask.

“We went to high school together and we are in some of the same English classes now.” He says.

“Wow! I never knew how close we were to each other without ever meeting.” You hum as a small tabby waltzes up to you. Suguru watches you scoop the cat up into your arms and pet its head. It purrs at your touch and he feels a little jealous of the cat.

Conversation flows effortlessly between you two as you play with the cats and drink your drinks. The tabby stays close to you, it demands your attention and will flick its tail when you are trying to do other things. You indulge the little thing every time.

At one point you finish your drink and get up, “I am going to get another tea, do you want more coffee?”

“That would be great.” He says and you take the cups off the table and walk over to the counter where Yuki is standing looking bored.

He watches you talk to her when a set of claws enter his calf. Looking down the small tabby cat has it’s claws in his leg with narrowed eyes.

“She may indulge you but I won’t.” He says defiantly.

The cat sinks its claws in deeper.

“I don’t negotiate with terrorists.”

Suguru feels the claws puncture his skin.

“Fine!” He says picks up the tabby and scratches its little head.

It begins to purr and Suguru just sighs, resigned to being a servant for this cat until you both leave.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

You come back to see Suguru holding the little tabby cat. It is the cutest thing you have ever seen. You set his coffee down on the table in front of him as he pets the cat’s head.

“It looks like Obi likes you.” You say and sit down in your seat.

“Obi is a small terror.” Suguru grumbles but continues to pet the cat.

“He takes after his mother,” You say and scratch under Obi’s chin. “Queenie fits her namesake.”

“Obi is a cute name for him,” Suguru says, “it doesn’t fit his personality.”

You laugh and take a sip of your drink, “His full name is Obadiah.”

“Obadiah?” Suguru asks in disbelief, “that’s his full name?”

“Yuki named him.” You smile at him as he tries to think of how Yuki thought that the name Obadiah would be a good name.

“I think I would be a terror if I was named Obadiah.” Suguru says and scratches the cat behind the ears, “I have misjudged you, I am sorry.”

More time passes and the two of you trade off so Suguru can drink his now lukewarm coffee. Obi is pleased to be in your arms and you hold him like a baby as he purrs. You had always wanted to adopt him since you saw him but raising him by yourself seemed like a daunting task so you talked yourself out of it.

A camera flash brings you out of your thoughts. Suguru has his phone up and is taking a picture of you and Obi. You blink in confusion at him.

“Why did you take a picture?” You ask him curiously.

He puts his phone down and clears his throat nervously, “I wanted to paint the two of you.”

Your jaw drops as he rubs the back of his neck, looking away from you. Your heart is in overdrive as you try to process that he wants to paint a picture of you. Taking a picture is one thing but painting someone takes a lot of work and time.

“I don’t have to if it makes you uncomfortable!” He says quickly trying to make it better.

“No!” You say but it comes out a bit high pitched as you blush, “I- I don’t mind.”

Suguru relaxes and a grin spreads on his face, “I am happy that you are willing to be my muse.”

God help your poor heart.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

After two hours you leave the cafe. Yuki waves as you leave and you know that you are in for it later. But you feel so love struck that you don’t care.

The walk back to your apartment building is filled with laughter and smiles. Suguru holds your hand all the way there and you let him lead you to the elevators. He runs a thumb over your knuckles and you feel like a dumb teenager on her first date.

When you make it to your door you hesitate. You don’t want this to end. Even if this is temporary and he may not want you later you want to bask in it now. You try to think of how to articulate it. And Suguru frowns as he looks at his phone.

“My roommate kicked me out for the night,” Suguru starts, “could I crash at your place? I will buy us dinner as payment.”

Fate seems to be in your favor today.

“Yeah, I don’t mind.” You say and let go of his hand to open the door. The door swings open and you lead him inside.

You settle on the couch as the two of you continue to talk. Suguru orders Chinese takeout and you talk about anything and everything. He tells you about his art classes and you tell him about your classes in kind.

“-I actually have a big project coming up soon so I will have to focus on that since it is a major portion of the grade.” He explains his hands moving around as he does.

“What do you have to do?” You ask him.

“So what the professor is asking for is a watercolor piece. I prefer oil based paints but it will be good to step out of my comfort zone for it.” Suguru tells you and you can tell that he is passionate about this by the way his eyes look as he talks.

“You seem really passionate about this.” You observe and he stops briefly.

“Sorry- I was rambling-” He starts to apologize but you grab his hand.

“Don’t apologize,” You smile at him reassuringly, “I like hearing you talk.”

It is quiet as the two of you stare at each other. The tension thick in the room as you trace his face with your eyes. His hair falls into his face from the beat bun it was in. You lean closer and-

The doorbell rings, breaking up the moment.

Internally groaning you get up from the couch, “I will get the food.”

“Thanks.” He responds a little heavy as you walk to the door.

The poor delivery man doesn’t deserve the irritated expression you give him but he looks too high to care. You take the food from his outstretched hands and thank him. He just tips his hat at you and teeters off down the hall. Hopefully he gets home safely.

You set the bag on the coffee table and grab some chopsticks from the kitchen. Suguru is dividing the food on the table. You hand him a set of chopsticks and sit down to eat.

“Do you want to watch a movie?” You ask him as you open your container of food.

“Yeah,” He says, “What are you in the mood for?”

“A romcom would be good but I am okay with anything.” You admit and grab the last dumpling.

“Okay- what would you recommend?” Suguru asks you with a smile.

“So if you want a high school setting I would suggest 10 things I hate about you, if not how to lose a guy in ten days is a classic.” You explain and hand him the remote.

He sets down his food and takes it with a hum of amusement, “Which one do you recommend?”

You take a minute to weigh it out. 10 things I hate about you was always a favorite when you were younger, and Heath Ledger isn’t too bad looking. How to lose a guy in ten days is the funnier of the two but you think your heart is swaying towards 10 things I hate about you.

“I would recommend 10 things I hate about you.” You say and He turns on the TV.

The movie starts and you feel content to watch Suguru’s reactions to the movie. Before he had put it on he had told you that he had never seen the movie. Which was a crime. So now he gets to be subjected to this movie for the next hour and a half.

“And I thought I had restrictive parents.” He says with a cringe.

“It really makes you think huh?” You ask with a laugh.

“I mean, if I had daughters I would be protective but not like that.” Suguru explains to you and puts his empty take out container on the table.

“I could see you with daughters,” You admit, “You would make a good dad.”

Suguru blinks down at you in surprise. You realize what you said and go to fix the situation but he beats you to speaking.

“You think so?”

“Yeah.”

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

Over the course of the movie your legs end up slung over Suguru’s lap. He runs his hand over your right leg, but only to your knee then stops. It is driving you a little insane at this point. If it wasn’t too forward you would grab his hand and put it under your skirt.

“He so deserved that.” Suguru says with approval as Joey gets punched in the face.

“He is such an asshole.” You agree with him, trying to not sound like you are worked up about his hand.

The main characters get together, the credits roll and the movie ends.

His hand is still there and you can’t stand it anymore. You reach your hand over to his and grab it. He startles but lets you guide his hand up your leg to your mid thigh. Suguru looks at you, his eyes darker than before. You give him a challenging look, daring him to touch you like he means it.

“Are you sure about this angel?” He asks you, his voice rough and breathy.

“More than any of the decisions I have made for the past month.” You respond.

Suguru chuckles and moves so his right knee is in between your legs, he hovers over you on the couch. You look up at him as he scans your face with his eyes as if he is trying to memorize what your face looks like in this exact moment. His lilac eyes lock on yours and you feel your heart rate pick up.

When he kisses you it is so slow, he takes his time as his hands move up your thighs. It is such a switch from yesterday where he did waste anytime and kissed you so hard you almost couldn’t breathe. You are sure that he wants to turn it around on, to make you need him just as bad. And he is definitely succeeding.

Your body feels so hot and he is barely touching you. It is maddening. His snake bites are cold against your lips and that only makes you want more. You run a hand up into his hair, pulling him down to kiss you deeper. His fingers ghost under your skirt and you gasp into his mouth.

“So needy angel.” He purrs as he pulls back to look down at you.

“I-” You begin and clench your thighs, “I need you so bad baby.”

That seems to be Suguru’s breaking point because he picks you up bridal style. You yelp in surprise at his sudden silence and him picking you up. Most of the men you have slept with hadn’t even tried to pick you when you hooked up. You can’t help the heat that curls in your core as he makes his way to your bedroom.

He lays you down gently with your head on your pillow. Suguru climbs onto the bed and parts your thighs. His rough hands pull down your skirt and tights, leaving you in only your underwear. He practically moans at the lacey lilac pair of panties you have on.

You grin at him and pull up your shirt to reveal a matching bra. It was pure coincidence that you had a set that was the color of his eyes. Even though you had not expected to hook up with Suguru, you thought that you would wear them just in case.

He matches your grin and hooks a finger under the elastic band, “All of this just for me?”

“Who else would it be for?” You ask him with an eyebrow raised, “I am not easy-”

You are cut off as he lowers himself between your thighs and licks your pussy through your panties.

“You were saying?” He says innocently as if he doesn’t have his head resting on your inner thighs.

“I am not- mhh!” You try again but he bites your inner thigh causing you to shiver.

“Hmmm?” Suguru hums in question as he pulls down your panties so he can see how wet you are already. “You seem to be having a hard time speaking angel, why don’t we let your pussy speak instead?”

You barely nod before two fingers are pumping in and out of your hole. It feels so good, his fingers are long enough to reach the spots you never can when you do this. He is knuckle deep in your pussy and you feel like you might cum soon.

“Fuck- mhh- I’m gonna cum-” You moan out as his fingers find your g-spot.

“I want you to come on my tongue first before I make you come again on my dick.” He says and removes his fingers.

A long drawn out whine comes out of your throat at the loss of something filling you. You try to rub your thighs together to make some friction but his hands hold your thighs apart. He wastes no time in eating you out.

Suguru knows what he is doing, you can tell because you can barely think straight. His tongue swirls around your clit and his fingers re-enter your hole. You have lost almost all control and are just a moaning mess.

“Your so beautiful like this- hah- so desperate for me.”

You grind down on his face as you get closer to the edge. Suguru hums happily as he gets you so close to an orgasm, the sound sends a shiver down your body. The heat that was rising in your core reaches a fever pitch as you cum.

As you bask in the afterglow of your orgasm he takes off his shirt and you see the tiger tattoo. He sees you eyeing it and smirks.

“See something you like pretty?” He asks as he continues to get undressed.

You nod, still high on your orgasm. If you didn’t have some restraint you might put your lips to it. He shivers under your touch,

“Fuck-” Suguru curses and you realize you said that out loud.

His voice breaks you out of the trance you are in and you get up to touch him. You run your hands over toned muscle and ink. The tiger tattoo isn’t his only one, he has a dragon on his back and a few smaller ones scattered along his forearms.

You push him back so he is laying down on the bed. He doesn’t stop you when you take all his clothes off. You marvel at his dick. It is thick and already dripping precum as you stare. But you don’t want to rush this, you have been thinking of this for two months so you want to savour this.

The kiss you press to his lips is soft and quick. You move on to his neck. A small possessive part of you wants you to give him very visible hickies. You want the woman three doors down who looks at him in the hall ways to see the bites you leave know that he is taken.

She can go back to her boring husband because this man is yours.

You try to push the thought out of your mind but you are already biting his neck. It brings you glee to know that these will last. Even if he doesn’t want you in the morning, you will have proof that you were there for a while. He groans as you lick and nibble the spot where you bit him.

It was hot, the push and pull of this new dynamic. You had never taken a chance on being more dominant or possessive with your past partners because you didn’t want to scare them off. But Suguru was different, he let you have free rein until he felt like taking over.

You can get on top of him and his hands rest on your hips. It takes a minute for you to adjust your position and sink down on his cock. You hiss slightly at the stretch as his rough hands guide you down.

“You're bigger than I imagined!” You say as you take all of him in.

This seems to pique his interest, “You thought about this?”

“Yeah-” You admit as he runs his hands over your torso. “Since I saw you for the first time I wondered-”

You are cut off as Suguru switches the position so you are under him.

“What are you-?”

What you were going to say is cut off by a whine as he begins to move. His thrusts are a bit wilder than you had expected. His dick hits all those spots inside you that make your legs feel like jelly. You wrap your arms around his shoulders to find something to ground you.

“I- hah- I have wanted this for so long.” Suguru admits in your ear, “Do you know how hard it was to not fuck you on your counter yesterday? How hard it was to not throw you over my shoulder and drag you to your bed earlier when I saw you?”

Oh

His words go straight to your core. You moan as he sucks on your neck. His confession makes your brain short circuit. It seems so out of the question that he would be into you. For a year you had talked yourself out of talking to him because you thought he didn’t want you.

“I would have let you-!” You answer his rhetorical questions.

That makes him pick up his pace and groan into your neck. You have a grip on his back as his dick hits your g-spot over and over and over again. You know that there are scratches left by your nails on his back.Your legs are trembling as your impending orgasm is about to hit.

“Can- fuck- can I cum inside?” Suguru asks you.

“Please-!” You whine out as you bury your face in his neck.

“Don’t hide from me angel- I want to see you.” He says and stares at you with nothing short of awe as you pull your head back to look him in the eyes. “Just like that, good girl-”

You can’t tell what makes you cum, his words or his repeated hitting of your g-spot but the coil in your stomach snaps and you feel so good. Suguru keeps going, fucking you through your orgasm as your legs tremble around him. You are on cloud nine as his hips stutter and he cums in you.

For a minute you two just breathe. The only sound in the room is your heart beat and laboured breathing. Suguru recovers first. He gets off you to get a towel to clean up and some water. You are sitting up when he gets back and you clean up.

“Stealing my clothes already?” He asks with a laugh as you pull on his band t-shirt.

“It smells like you.” You say with a shrug and crawl into bed with him.

“Do I smell good?” He asks with an eyebrow raised.

“Yeah,” You cuddle up to him. “Like smoke with hints of lavender.”

“I guess I can’t change my shampoo then.” He says and rests his head on top of yours.

“Otherwise we might have a problem.” You say with a sleepy giggle.

“How scary angel.”

You don’t respond because you feel your eyes shut and sleep drags you under its waves.

Love, Magic And Other Things Gone Wrong

When you wake up Suguru isn’t beside you. You look over at the side of bed he was sleeping on to see it empty. Sitting up abruptly you look around the room for any sign of him but his jeans aren’t on your floor anymore.

You scramble out of bed.

Did the potion somehow last longer than intended and it is just now wearing off?

The door to your room is open as you rush out of it. But you relax as you see Suguru standing on your balcony. He is visibly arguing with someone and has a cigarette in his hands which he is pointing at the person in question.

You walk to the sliding glass door.

“-you should have given me prior warning asshole!” Suguru says and lights up the cigarette.

Opening the door he blinks over at you.

“Suguru?” You ask and slip out onto the balcony.

“‘morning angel.” He says and wraps an arm around your waist pulling you closer to him.

You relax into his side and look over at the man on the balcony next to yours. He is tall with wild white hair and blue eyes. His eyes are bright and his smile is wide as he looks at you.

“Oh!” You say as you remember who this is, “You must be Suguru’s roommate!”

“The one and only!” He responds cheerfully.

“Satoru Gojo.” He introduces himself and stretches out a hand for you to shake.

You introduce yourself and shake his hand with a smile, “Nice to meet you Gojo.”

“Well-” Gojo says with a mischievous glint in his eyes, “I have to go check on my study buddy, have fun!”

Suguru just rolls his eyes as Gojo walks back into his apartment. You give him a little wave as he disappears. After he is gone you turn to Suguru who shakes his head at his friend.

“That poor TA, he will never hear the end of this.” Suguru says more to the air than you.

He catches your confused look and explains, “Satoru has been trying to get into the pants of our English classes TA for months now, poor guy must have finally agreed so Satoru kicked me out.”

“At least it was good for you that I let you stay over.” You say with a grin.

“You are very generous.” He responds, matching your grin.

“I do expect some repayment,” You tease, “people can’t think that I am a pushover.”

Suguru puts out his cigarette.

“Oh?” He asks and turns toward you, “and what may that be?”

You hum, pretending to think about it.

“Breakfast would be nice…” You suggest trailing off as you turn to walk back into your apartment, his hand in yours. “Unless you have a better idea?”

“I have many ideas.”
