Imagine an episode of Sonic Boom where Sticks and Sonic swap bodies.

Sonic (in Sticks' body) tries to tell everyone what happened, only for no one to believe him (because to them, it's just Sticks being Sticks). Sticks (in Sonic's body) is getting used to the super speed, and is using it to travel around the island in hopes of finding some sort of evidence for her conspiracies.

For a good majority of the episode, no one seems to notice. Sonic's acting a little weird, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Sticks is being Sticks to them, so everything seems all good.

The only reason they notice something's wrong is because Sonic threw off his communicator, and Sticks put it on. It's the last five minutes, and they're hunting down Sticks to reverse the switch, only to find her breaking Sonic's tv in the shack with one minute left in the episode.

Headcanon: Team Dark's rooms are decorated to their own personal tastes/interests.

Shadow's room is dark, pretty sparse but not barren. On the walls there's star charts, and a few shelves cluttered with nick-knacks from his various missions. Books strewn about, ranging from fantasy to anatomy, to a pile of journals he writes in daily. On the ceiling, Rouge placed some glow in the dark stars, in patterns of his favorite constellations. His bed is pretty minimal as well, and the one thing on his nightstand is a framed picture of Maria and Gerald. Rouge's room is the opposite. The walls are deep pinks and purples, her bedspread is full of pillows and blankets, and jewels she's stolen decorate the walls. Rugs overlap on the floor, and her wardrobe is on a clothing rack, showcasing glitzy and glamours outfits. While Shadow's room is more minimal, Rouge's is the epitome opulence.

Omega's "room" is minimal. He simply enters, and just rests/recharges. There's only one thing on the wall, a picture of Eggman that he occasionally uses for target practice. Omega has little/no use for a bedroom, instead only using it as a place to go when he needs a recharge every so often.

Some more Hero Factory headcanons (Bulk edition)

- He’s the tallest member of the team - After being pinned under the girders during the fight with Corroder, his legs had to be remade. He is the only one that knows this. - Bulk likes to read whenever he can - He and Stringer tend to swap weapons during training - Bulk tends to put himself between a villain and a rookie, often acting as a shield. - All of his armor has more chips/scratching/dents than the rest of the Alpha 1 team's armor

A break from my usual Sonic-related content:

Hero Factory Headcanons (Stormer addition)

- Stormer is the shortest member of Alpha Team 1

- He is also the oldest member of the team

- He prefers ranged combat

- Stormer dislikes being touched, and hates having his Core scanned (sorry, Quadal)

- Despite his use of ice weaponry and white/blue color scheme, he prefers warmer climates

- Before Furno’s creation, he was one of the most agile Heroes created

- Bulk and Stringer have had to drag him back to HFICU (Hero Factory’s ICU) before.

- He remembers the Assembly/Creation Days (aka the birthdays) of the Alpha 1 Team.

- Stormer has a very short temper. Zib usually reminds him to keep it together

- He dislikes using vehicles, but will use them if he has to

OH YEAH, I FORGOT

If you choose to go with the idea that Sonic's counterpart is also King Arthur (the hedgehog, not illusion), then you could also draw up reasons for why he isn't the king in the game.

Mordred was prophesied to kill Arthur, so (as a baby), Mordred was sent on a ship that was supposed to be destroyed, killing everyone aboard it. However, Mordred survived and eventually made his way to Camelot, becoming a knight and usurping Arthur's throne temporarily.

For a parallel, perhaps the illusion Arthur's fate was to be killed by Arthur the hedgehog (and rightful king). In an attempt to escape his fate, he asked for all the hedgehog children to be sent on a boat that was supposed to crash, killing everyone on board, but Arthur ended up surviving, and once Sonic left, took the throne.

If there’s one thing I love in SatBK, it’s that DESPITE being crowned as King Arthur, he actually fills 2 roles (Arthur and Mordred).

Him filling Arthur’s role is PRETTY self explanatory. He’s crowned king at the end of the game, pulled the sword from the stone, leads the knights and kingdom, etc. But Mordred’s role is something ENTIRELY different.

First, Mordred and Sonic both doomed Camelot in different ways: Mordred with usurping Arthur and taking his throne, Sonic with giving the scabbard to Merlina resulted in the kingdom almost being destroyed. Mordred disregarded the code of Chivalry (Sonic does this out of overall disinterest and his morals, Mordred has more lustful habits and unchivalrous behaviors, which Sonic DOES NOT have).

Then, we have the more obvious parallels between them. Mordred killed Arthur, and Sonic did the same with the illusionary Arthur. Mordred used Clarent to kill him, a sword that Arthur used in ceremonies, and BEFORE getting Caliburn, the sword Sonic uses for Misty Lake’s tutorial levels is, in fact, Clarent as well.

This is all REALLY circumstantial, and of course it’s not 100% accurate, I just thought it was a really cool thing to mention.

But I also really want to know what this would mean for Merlina’s dialogue now. After all: “Arthur is struck down by his son Mordred, and departs for Avalon”, but if Sonic fills the roles of BOTH Arthur and Mordred, then Camelot’s ending plays out much differently.

I LOVE the parallels between Gerald and Eggman in Sonic 3. ESPECIALLY with how they treat Shadow/Stone (their respective henchman/helper).

Eggman's BLATANTLY honest with Stone, and certainly blunt, but he actually DOES care about him. In Sonic 1, he looks down on Stone, calling him a sycophant and stupid ("Way to go, you got that one"). In Sonic 2, he doesn't seem to hold Stone in a higher regard, saying that he and Knuckles should ditch him, and leave him at the Mean Bean. While Stone's completely loyal to him, and it's clear that he cares about Eggman, it's only in Sonic 3 when Eggman actually realizes that Stone IS the only person who ever cared for him.

Meanwhile, Gerald's manipulative. He seems to talk down to Shadow, primarily ordering him around and only bothering to keep him out of harms way during the London heist, BEFORE he has access to the Eclipse Canon. He actively preys on Shadow's grief, telling him that he needs to remember that Maria was taken from them, and that humanity deserves to be destroyed. Gerald doesn't even bother with correcting Eggman when he calls Shadow a "Thermonuclear gerbil". And when Gerald sees that Shadow is now working with Sonic, he says "I see you chosen betrayal. And you were once so useful to me."

Gerald was (likely) only using Shadow as a tool, something he could discard when it no longer had a purpose. But Eggman WANTED to keep Stone around. He IS the reason that Eggman tried to save the world. To Eggman, Stone was MORE than a henchman and sychophant. He was a sychofriend.

Ideas for a SatBK remaster (if it ever happens):

Camelot Castle and Nimue's Lake as hub worlds! Nimue can provide her challenges of Chivalry (the missions she sends Sonic on), and the bonus stages (unlocked after defeating Merlina), while the extra challenges could be given by the villagers in Camelot Castle. Connections to Arthurian legend can be accessed through dialogue at Nimue's, while SatBK specific lore can be accessed with the villagers in Camelot Castle, changing at different parts of the game (them talking about Arthur's corruption, how grateful they are to Sonic, and when Lancelot/Percival/Gawain, how they react to each knight). Plus, it would provide easy access to the Blacksmith, unlocking titles, and exchanging items.

FIXED CONTROLS. NO MORE DELAY. It's admittedly part of the charm (for me), but I would LOVE to have them fixed so the delay isn't as bad.

Camelot's treasury as an ACTUAL room (like Shadow's room in Generations). This can showcase the different items that are found, different talismans or potions made at the blacksmith's, and even showcasing the Sacred Swords. You could also view found concept are and replay cutscenes here.

A way to access Battle Mode in the game. Like, walk through one gate, and a prompt comes up asking if you want to enter Battle Mode/Multiplayer. This would let the player choose what character they want to play as, and also allow them to battle against a CPU opponent.

Some way to access the map at all times. With the original theme for the level selection playing while it's pulled up. For levels, you'd still have the ability to choose which knight you play as before entering a level, and the ability to equip items/talismans from the Blacksmith's Shop. (Maybe Merlina's magic allowed Sonic to instantly memorize the map or something.)

Last, but DEFINITELY not least:

GALAHAD AND LAMORAK IN THE GAME. PLEASE. SEGA, I'M BEGGING YOU.

5 (possibly) underrated things I always remember about Sonic Boom:

1. Amy is the only member of Team Sonic that can cook, and when everyone else tried, it was purple-ish slop

2. Meh Burgers are vegan, and are made of shredded newspaper and library paste. Sonic is also the only one paying full price.

3. Orbit and Cubot willingly eat marshmallows, despite knowing that it’ll mess with their circuitry

4. Sonic canonically owns glasses, but never wears them (and whether they’re real or fake is up to interpretation).

5. Eggman wasn’t a doctor, and the entirety of Hedgehog Village had a musical number to spread the word.

Shadow is somehow able to always be traumatized

Modern Shadow witnessed Maria's death and was manipulated by his father(s), Sir Lancelot went mad, Boom Shadow was under mind control (that HAS to have left some PTSD), and Movie Shadow was placed into stasis because he was "too valuable to destroy". What's next? What trauma is he going to experience next?

And that's not even COUNTING the possibility of new traumas, fanworks which can add to/introduce new ones, ANYTHING.

The more I think about it, the more subtle references to Arthurian legend are actually IN SatBK. One of the SMALLEST references is during Gawain's defeat, when he tries to behead himself. This is likely a reference to Gawain and the Green Knight. The Green Knight offers to get hit with a VERY nice axe, but in return, whatever blow was dealt to him will be returned the next year (so, if Gawain and lightly tapped him on the arm, Gawain would get a light tap on the arm in response). Gawain beheads the Green Knight, hoping it'll kill him, but the Green Knight just says that he'll see Gawain next year, picks up his head, and walks out.

Next year comes, and the Green Knight disguises himself, with Gawain proving himself as strong-willed, noble, and honest to the disguised Green Knight. This ends up working in Gawain’s favor, since instead of getting beheaded, he only gets a small tap on the neck from the axe. Just like where Galatine was positioned in the cutscene before Sonic took it away.

Gotta love SatBK's references.

You know... Shadow didn't know about Ring travel in the third movie (since he crashed on Earth in a meteor), so the first (and only) time he would've seen it was when the G.U.N. helicopter arrived in Tokyo, but it would've been unlikely (possibly due to him fighting soldiers at the time). Imagine if the first time he sees a Ring being used is in Sonic 4, and he just has NO IDEA why the portal opened, and Sonic just has to tell him "Yeah, it's safe, I do this all the time", with NO explanation for how the Rings work, or how he knows about them, leaving Shadow with the most confused expression on his face.

Sonic and the Black Knight is still SUCH a strange concept, and it STILL works. Like, "Oh yeah, King Arthur was corrupted by the power of immortality, became a tyrant king, the Knights of the Round Table are still bound by their honor to serve him, they're hunting Merlin's granddaughter, Sonic is summoned to the world, slays dragons, saves Percival and Gawain's lives, kills King Arthur, and saves the ENTIRE kingdom in less than a week and becomes the new king."

And the main gimmick of the game is just 'Oh yeah, Sonic uses a sword'. This game is INCREDIBLE
