Consider: A generally lighthearted buddy comedy movie about two characters, out of whom one is british and the other is american, who meet by happenstance and need to join forces to achieve some mutual goal, going from resentful strangers genuinely going "ugh why are british people like this/why are americans like that" to doing that as jovial roasting between good friends. But instead of it being two white dudes, it's two women, of whom one is British Indian and the other is Native American.

And peppered between the lighthearted banter and a running joke about peoples' confusion about the word "indian", every once in a while there's a brutally dark joke of either of them pointing out - and bonding over - their own generational trauma and the horrors of colonialism.

I binged watched the complete playlists on Dimension 20 and I'm fucking obsessed. I love just how fun and chaotic yet heart-wrenching and emotional it all is. Brennan is such a fun DM and I love how rewards the players even if their ideas are insane but that's what makes it so special. The moment that I can, I am getting that subscription to Dropout and watching everything else that I'm missing. I also can't wait to see some of the campaigns that Brennan hasn't/isn't DMing.

So what if Lucy frostblade wasn't possessed when she submitted to change her god but what if someone in the rat grinders is a changeling. And what if that's why Ivy wasn't surprised when she saw Lucy at the party because she assumed someone else was pretending to be her. And what if that someone is kipperlily and that's why she's such a good rogue

Fantasy High: Sophomore Year

I finally watched and finished the second season of Fantasy High. I had watched the first season on youtube before I gotten the dropout subscription. So, I was quite excited to start it up early last week. I finished it up just the other day and my heart.

From the very start, I could not have guessed that the story was going to the places and ways that it ended up going. This image of the Unnamed Goddess being reborn into deity-hood. It was so moving and it really tied everything beautifully.

The various NPCs added or expanded upon were such wonderful bits of the story to be all added in. Adya became a fast favorite of mine. She was an amazing addition and I love how fast she was able to bond with Adaine and Fig.

All of the characters had such amazing moments throughout this entire campaign. Everyone got such cool and moving moments that delved into and developed their own individual backstories. I literally can't choose a favorite moment from this entire season.

Side note: I love that all of the fanmade Fig and the Cig Figs songs were uploaded on Spotify. They were made so well and really capture the feelings of the campaign.

Misfits and Magic

This was such a fun season! I really love Aabria's style of dming. Brennan's dming always has me hanging off of every word in the way of stunning me like I can't look away or react without missing something. While Aabria's has me reacting and even pausing to have my own little moments. It's so different and I hope to see more of her in future seasons.

I liked that this was through a different system of ttrpg. I've only seen one other game system before so it was nice to see even more. Plus it was fun that they had those advisory tokens. It was a nice touch.

I grew up watching Harry Potter and so this was a fun way of poking fun at the absurdity of that entire world. The touch of the wands! I thought that was so cool and another great way of immersive storytelling/playing.

I really loved the characters and just how they wanted to prove that they could be just as good and even better because they were mixing modern/common sense with magic. It was again poking fun at what was already put into place.

I thought the players were having so much fun. Between kicking some ass at magic and learning all of their specific forms of magic. Which I think was a really nice touch, it brought those characters more to life.

Overall. I thought it was so nice and even thought it was a short campaign it was definitely one of the most fun. I hope to find more of these shorter campaigns just as fun.

There are so many cats at Mordred Manor. A few are friendly, will sit on your lap or nuzzle against you as you watch TV. Most aren't, but will permit you to live in their home as long as you keep feeding them. Almost every month it seems there's a new cat. They're all different, some missing an eye, one missing a leg, two that won't go anywhere without each other. They all need homes and, Aelwyn argued one time, Mordred Manor is home to people who need homes. Are they saying cats aren't people? The rest of the residents have grown accustomed to it. They don't notice when a solitary black cat joins the clowder. Why would they?
