(Nobody mentions Bunny eating other people's food. Does it make me weird that that's the point I really started to dislike him. )
Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!
For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!
Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all!
The Tormented
The following art contains spoilers from the book.
So I started my animal crossing island again, cause I needed the breathing room but guys... I think I broke it. I got Sasha, Ketchup AND Reneigh on my island in the first week.
I have been blessed by the Animal Crossing GODS!
I also have Goose, but I don't want to talk about it 😆
Henry Winter
I've been thinking about it an unhealthy amount... But like we have sooo much dark, gritty sci-fi now. Black Mirror just came out with another season last week that shows us the darkest sides of the future. Paid advertising in medicine etc etc.
Why shouldn't RTD let an alien twink hoover up incels with a retro-future Roomba? Or fight a fifty foot fifties cartoon character. It's a universe where literally anything can happen and I think that's awesome.
It's the goofiness that sets Who apart and a lot of people forgot that after Moffat's run.
Now I want a trinket tin
Crows
I fear I'm not meant for adult life.
I want to collect my trinkets, invest in cosy blankets, drink lots of coffee and read lots of books. Is that too much to ask?
In other news, I had to deal with taxes today. That may or may not be related.
How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.
As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.
He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.
He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.
Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.
