Something I learnt a while ago is that having ADHD and understand it fully doesn't mean you can also understand an Autistic just cuz they are neurodivergent too. I know many autistics hate bright lights, I can't understand why though, I never have an issue with them and just can't imagine what that feels like no matter how much I try. I know facial expressions and implied meanings in sentences can be confusing and often very frustrating for Autistics, but I just...can't figure out why or how that feels. maybe this is also why explaining executive dysfunction to NT's is as difficult as it is, :/ its difficult on both ends, to explain it and to understand it but its worse if they dont even try to support you or get you help when you need it, you dont have to understand it to be a good person :/

Here's a quick au idea that just came to me today:
In a modern au where Merlin is still waiting on Arthur, historians recently discovered a whole batch of legal documents from Arthur's reign. These documents detail many changes he made to the laws of Camelot, including the repeal of the magic ban (which the historians assumed was just a halt on witch hunts).
However, one thing that the historians note as strange were the large number of laws that only applied to the king's personal manservant, who was never mentioned by name in the documents. These laws range from oddly specific, such as 'the king's manservant shall not accompany knights to the tavern', to downright bizarre decrees that make no sense, like 'the king's manservant is hereby forbidden from pointing out stew in the king's hair.'
The historians' first guess was that perhaps King Arthur was going a bit mad in his later years, but they didn't find any other ludicrous laws besides the ones pertaining to his manservant, which then led the historians to question the identity of this manservant and his relationship to the king.
All of this culminates in a historical exhibit showcasing the documents and postulating on this mysterious manservant of king Arthur. Many scholars flock to the exhibit, eager to examine the documents and debate their meaning and impact within a historical context.
Which then leads to a very tired Dr. Merlin Emrys, a medieval history professor, being dragged by his colleagues to see the exhibit and having to stifle is laughter as these world-renowned scholars tear their hair out trying to understand what was essentially a prank war between him and Arthur.
hello! I am making this on my break at work, but I'm in need of assistance pulling March rent together. this should be the last time I have to do this since I have a job now, but I still won't see a full paycheck for three weeks.

as always, thank you so so much. whether you're pitching something in or reblogging or just being kind to me, it all means the world. thank youuuu.
Thereβs also a thing that people who think theyβre being accepting do where they go βNot wanting romance is SO SAD AND LONELY! Not wanting to read romance novels is SEXIST! Not wanting a partner makes you a FREAK! Not having sex with your partner is BAD and ABUSIVE! Not feeling sexual attraction to your partner means there is SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU!β¦ unless youβre aromantic or asexual, of course! Then you get a pass.β The only acceptable reason to deviate from the amatonormative and sexnormative societal norm is to claim an identity label that exempts you. The actual thing youβre doing is still badβ¦ but donβt worry itβs OK for you to do it! It feels like, we havenβt actually challenged any norms at all, you just get a pass on them because you canβt help it, poor thing. If you have the capacity to feel these, you have the obligation to; you are only exempt if you claim an identity that says that you are unable to. It implies that we would if we could, but we canβt, and itβs merely unfair to punish us for our shortcomings. Romance and sex are still social requirements, that hasnβt changed, we just are allowed a pass on it because we are unable to meet them. (And weβre still expected to reassure everyone that of course we recognize that their romance and sex is far more important than anything we will ever be able to have!)
I donβt want aros and aces to get special exemption from the requirement to have romance and sex and romantic attraction and sexual attraction; I want that to not be a requirement for anyone.
With summer fast approaching lots of fruits are in season and I would like to know which ones you absolutely love. π
