The Weekly Writing Update #6
09.10.22
This past week has been and this next week will be spent outlining the plot down to each chapter. Up till now, it’s been a bunch of ideas all vaguely spread out between beginning, middle, and end. But it’s caused a lot of chaos and I’ve changed and rewritten the plot many times, so a chapter-by-chapter layout of the plot will do me MUCH good :)
The past week, I got the chart set up and started a little bit. But this next week I plan to work on it way more and hopefully complete it!
Here is the chart layout btw if anyone wants it use it!
XOXO~
THEPROCRASTINATINGNOVEL -- A Writerblr intro
This blog used to be something else, but I recently deleted everything and turned it into my writerblr! So, yayyy!
Howdy! I'm Alex, I am 18 years old, and I've been writing since I was 10. I started this Writerblr to track my progress to hopefully motivate myself to actually finish one of my many, many wips.
I mostly write fantasy, but I'd like to try writing a wide range of genres. I used to read a LOT. I still read, but I'm getting myself back into the habit of reading more.
Bi, She/They. I’m a Leo and INTP. Im a very shut in person and don’t get the chance to leave my house very often.
Interests;
🌵 Anime & Manga
🌵 Video games
🌵 Reading & Writing ofc
🌵 Pedro Pascal ♡
I have a bad habit of spending hours daydreaming about my wips and obsessing over details and planning, and by the time I have the motivation to write, no words come to mind. It is very frustrating, but I can sometimes combat this by switching from typing to writing on paper to force the words out.
♡*゚My current wip is an unnamed novel series that I have been planning for a year and a half. The first draft is being written right now, so a lot is still up in the air. So far, it's a collection of snippets over various docs, notion pages, and journals that I'm wrangling into a book. It has magic, gods, and a super hot witch-warrior who goes by Percival. Also my son, Alden. We love Alden.
I plan to post weekly writing updates, showcasing progress or where I'm currently at. These updates should come every Saturday at the end of each week, if you wish to follow my journey :)
✩ POV: 3rd person Omniscient is my usual writing style for any wip
➸ To have the first draft of my wip completed by the end of the year. If not, I wish to at least have a good chunk of it done. Hopefully life doesn't get in the way too much
➸ To meet and make friends with other writerblr's. Don't be afraid to come talk to me!!

The Weekly Writing Update #13
10.29.22
Again, not much of an update this week. My (minuscule) progress was mostly ideas this week. And I hate that when I actually had free time this past week, when I sat down to write there were no words. Writers block is such a BITCH
But anyway, I’m glad to have had some new ideas.
⇨ I created the villain for the end of the series, the one at the end of everything. Even got a sick ass name, I just need to visualize their appearance using picrew. Because I can’t draw.
⇨ Got a cool idea for 1-2 (possibly 3??) chapters in the middle. Which is good, because right now the middle of the book is just a vague idea. I need more plot/chapters ideas for the middle but for now I’ll start here!
OR
Or I combine those two ideas into:
MC is arranged to be married to a prince from a neighboring kingdom, with the secret mission to steal and harness their source of magic. One night, she transforms into a bird monster, and is discovered by the Prince's loyal knight when transforming back. He keeps her secret and they grow close, but she continues with her mission behind his back. In this, she grows conflicted between her home and the people who have put their trust in her
Hey so.. I don't know if anyone still follows me. Or is interested in my writing. I completely abandoned my last major project that I used to post about--a while ago--and I've recently gotten back into writing. I'm starting a new WIP but I'm stuck between two plots, if anyone cares to share their opinions :)
A.) Knight finds a girl with amnesia who turns into a bird monster, and he just became a fugitive. So he takes her and they go into hiding, fighting shadow monsters and working to get her memory back.
B.) Noblewoman is set up to marry a prince from a neighboring kingdom, but is actually sent to steal the source of magic from their neighbors. Instead, she falls for the prince's knight. ...instead of the prince.
Unless these are both stupid/need to be workshopped, my DMs and Asks are open to anyone with constructive criticism!! Or any other writers wanting to talk (I need more writer friends) 😭
@ fanfic authors: don’t apologise for writing filler chapters! i see this all the time!! filler chapters are so important to narrative pacing! a story needs downtime so the faster paced or denser elements have room to breathe! you’re writing a well balanced story!!! also, you’re giving me that filler for free! thats crazy!!! thats so kind of you!!! thank you for this gift!!!!!!
The Weekly Writing Update #4
08.27.22
Not much to update on this week. It’s been slow
⇨ I made a few slight changes to the plot, the protagonist’s journey being a much more direct result of what the villain is doing and now making them much more connected plot-wise, and not just through backstory
⇨ still only a few hundred words in, but I know where I’m going so hopefully I make more progress within the next few weeks
⇨ As I’ve said previously, I had a handful of details and a character that I didn’t know what to do with and so it didn’t overload the plot, but I think with the change I’ve made, everything fits and it’s not too much :) yay!
Hopefully this STICKS and I don’t keep overthinking and changing the plot every week.
XOXO~
