I attended the opening the Michael Canning's exhibition 'Les Yeux' tonight at the Oliver Sears Gallery, 33 Fitzwilliam Square Upper, Dublin 2 tonight. The event was quiet and informal. I loved Micheal's paintings of plants set against plain backgrounds. The fine detail of the twigs and leaves contrasted with the simplicity of sky and minimalist landscapes. His three small paintings of tree trunks intrigued me. To my eye, they were a new development in his work. His exhibition will run until 13th June 2025.

Tonight, I attended the opening of Sinead Ni Mhaonaigh's exhibition 'Teorainn' at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery. I enjoyed viewing her paintings especially the more hazy ones with less detail. The venue was busy with a relaxed atmosphere. Sinead's exhibition will run until 29th Feb 2020 at Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chanery Lane, Dub 8.
Classy.
Last night, I attended the opening of Michael Coleman’s exhibition ‘Still Life’ at the Kevin Kavanagh gallery. His colourful paintings varied from abstract to landscape. I liked his installation of a shelf on which a collection of painted cards stood. The shelf was hung over one of his larger paintings called ‘'Connolly’s Folly’. My favourite painting was ‘Tiger Lilies’ with its combination of pink, green and yellow. Michael’s show will run until 6th April 2019 at Chancery Lane, Dublin 8.
Classy.
I also attended the opening of Robert Ballagh's exhibition at the Gorey Gallery, 20 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 last night. This opening was likewise very busy.
I particularly liked Robert's self-portraits. They were well executed and observed. His exhibition will continue onto the 3rd May 2024.

Last night, I attended the opening of Michael Canning’s exhibition ‘Your Cyclical Natures Sculpture Painting Drawing’ at the Oliver Sears Gallery, 29 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. I thought the sculptures on show really complimented the paintings. The atmosphere at the opening was relaxed. I met Michael. He was lovely. Michael’s exhibition will continue until 18th October.
