Christine Loh at Reds
Tonight, I attended the opening of 'Unity', Christine Loh's exhibition at Reds Gallery, 21 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 D02 TK33. Christine's paintings were large, colourful and chearful. Most of them featured flowers. The venue was busy. People came and went. My favourite painting was 'Miracle Blossom'. It reminded me of Van Gogh's Sunflowers. Reds Gallery was up about three flights of stairs but was well worth the climb. Christine's exhibition will run until 13th Nov 2024.

I also attended Neal Greig's opening at Gormleys, 27 Fredrick Street South, Dublin 2 D02 EP03 which was just as enjoyable. His exhibition of rugged and wild seascapes were full of energy and a pleasure to view. However, I loved his three paintings 'June River Butonne', 'Dream Lake' and 'Butonne River'. They were peaceful and, to my eye, evoked scenes of the Mangrove Swamps in and around Florida. Neal's show will run Until 29th Oct 2024.

Yesterday, I visited the marble and metal head of Luke Kelly created by Vera Klute. I thought the portrait was very well done in design and execution. A lovely sense of movement and striking facial expression. I loved the hair.
Classy.

Mark Francis at the Kerlin
This evening, I attended the opening of Mark Francis' exhibition 'Accustic Oceans' at the Ketlin Gallery, Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2. The venue was packed with a lively atmosphere. There was plenty of chat.
The colours in Mark's paintings shimmered against each other. These compositions were created with vertical narrow stripes in pale and dark colours. I liked his red and black paintings such as 'Subtonic' and 'Dubmagnet'. They appeared, to my eye, extra rich and warm.
Mark's exhibition will run until 24th Aug 2024. It was well worth going.

I've just attended the opening of Margo Banks' exhibition at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 called 'Crow Voice, Fox Voice....Wolf Voice'. Margo has a lovely way of painting animals and all her paintings were full of life. Her opening was well attended. The poet, Jessica Traynor read a poem and Daniel Soro, the guitarist played some live music. Margo's exhibition will run until 22nd July 2023.

Last night, I attended the opening of Michael Canning’s exhibition ‘Your Cyclical Natures Sculpture Painting Drawing’ at the Oliver Sears Gallery, 29 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. I thought the sculptures on show really complimented the paintings. The atmosphere at the opening was relaxed. I met Michael. He was lovely. Michael’s exhibition will continue until 18th October. Classy.
Last night, I attended the opening of Paul Abell’s art exhibition at Rathmines Library. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Paul had already begun to sell his many paintings featuring buildings, boating scenes and landscapes. I particularly loved Paul’s paintings of one or two boats moored on a hazy shoreline which are the biggest sellers. Paul’s exhibition will continue for just today and tomorrow. He hopes to raise €8,000 the Capuchin Day Centre for the Homeless and Mellon Educate, a charity that builds schools in South Africa.
