Poe stares at the small stick— the two lines staring back at him.

You were... pregnant? You were pregnant and you didn’t tell him?

Poe didn’t even mean to find the pregnancy stick, he was just taking out the bathroom trash when he noticed it.

What he couldn’t understand was why you didn’t tel him yet. Sure, you’d only been seeing each other for a while and had been sure to use protection.

Except for one night.

“Hey, Poe, how do you feel about pizza for—“

Poe turns to see you standing there frozen, eyes wide as you spot the pregnancy test in his hands.

“Were you ever going to tell me?” He mutters.

“Poe, I... I only just found out—“

“But we’re you going to tell me?” He asks, his tone more stern now.

“I... of course I was,” you step towards him. “I-I just... I didn’t know how and I didn’t know if... if you would be okay with this.”

Poe sets the stick on the counter and steps towards you, grabbing your hands.

“Hey, I’m not upset or anything.”

“Y-you’re not?”

“No,” he shakes his head. “I know it’s not... wel, we didn’t plan for this. But I want to be there for you. We’ll figure this out.”

You nod, and Poe wipes your tears.

“Are you okay?”

“Mmhm, just kind of relieved that... you aren’t mad.”

“Of course I’m not mad,” he smiles softly. “But are you okay? Like... you’re not sick or anything?”

“Poe—“

“Did you have a good lunch? Are you—“

“I’m fine,” you chuckle. “Stop asking.”

Poe lets out a soft laugh, before he wraps his arms around you. “I just want to make sure you and our baby are okay.”

“I know you do.”

“And... We’ll figure this out, okay? I want to be there every step of the way.”

“I know you will,” you hum, smiling as you feel his hand flat against your stomach.

Steve needs to move on, it’s pretty obvious that he CHOSE Peggy over y/n, I mean y/n did move on and happy with Shang-Chi now

I want Shang chi and y/n to have babies 😍🥰💖

Sam shook his head. He glanced over to Bruce who was silently expressing his disappointment as he rubbed the bridge of his nose and exhaled slowly.

“That was not the way to go about this at all,” Bruce said out loud. “You guys shouldn’t have ambushed her.”

“She’d never have agreed to sit down with him, we needed to surprise her with this. I just didn’t think you were going to come out here confessing your love for her again, Steve, I thought you were just going to apologize and admit you’re an idiot.”

Steve shook his head, “No, I don’t want to hold my tongue with her. I just didn’t expect her to show up with a boyfriend. Are they serious?”

Bruce pursed his lips and shrugged, “We don’t really talk as much unless it’s about rebuilding.”

Sam, however, nodded, “Yeah, they are. I’ve seen them together. It’s serious, and he’s really, really devoted to her.”

Steve hummed, “But is she devoted to him?”

Modern Poe angst. Like Poe before Poe could tell you how he feels you start dating someone else.

He messed up. 

For the entire time he’s known you, Poe thought he had all the time in the world to tell you how he felt. He’s spent years harbouring feelings for you and he was too late. 

He now realizes what a complete and utter fool he was. So stupid. A fucking clown. 

Of course someone as amazing and beautiful as you would eventually find a person to date. You were a catch! How could Poe think that you’d be single up until he’d tell you how he felt and then you two would be dating? He’s such a fucking joke. A sad pathetic excuse of a man because he really thought he had all the time in the world to build up the courage to profess his love to you. 

But it was too late. 

He swallowed down the hurt as he watched you cuddle up to the guy you’ve been dating for three months now. A part of him hoped it wouldn’t last past a month and now you’re at three months and you still look as happy as ever. 

Poe wants you to be happy, of course he does, but he wants you to be happy with him. He wants to be the one who holds your hand and kisses your lips and lays in your bed.  He wants to be the one who makes you laugh all the time and takes you out on dates. He wants to be the one for you like you’re the one for him. But he messed up. 

And it’s nobody’s fault but his own.

“BB, come meet your little brother,” you called to the droid when he rolled into the ship’s common room. Your own BB Unit, a red droid, slightly smaller than BB-8 was zooming around the room, exploring the space and continually emitting chirps and whistles with each new discovery. “Dad got him for me.”

BB-8 stopped rolling and his camera fixated on the new droid. He finally let out a low beep and looked from the new droid to back at you. 

“Aw, come on,” you said. “You’re not jealous, are you?”

Your own droid rolled over to BB-8, bobbing his dome in some sort of greeting and BB-8 backed away for a moment, before rolling right into the new droid and knocking him back.

“Hey, BB,” you admonished, picking up the orange ball droid and pulling him away. “That’s not nice!” 

The red droid let of a series of indignant sounds and you rolled your eyes as you patted the smaller droid on its dome. “BB-8 is just jealous,” you said. “He’s used to being the center of attention here.”

BB-8 responded with a whistle that could only mean “That’s Poe.” and you burst out laughing. “Yeah, okay, fair.”

Sometimes you can’t decide what’s more exhausting—literally growing a baby in your belly, or Benny worrying after you. “What was that?”

You also can’t decide what’s more surprising—that Benny seems to have a supernatural ability to tell when you’re puking, or that he’s at the bathroom in the time it takes you to blink, no matter where he was in the house beforehand. “Lunch didn’t agree with me,” you mumble into the porcelain throne, thinking that this is much closer than you ever wanted to be a toilet in your entire life.

Even when you’re using one, you’re not this close.

             “We should call the doctor,” Benny says quickly, trying to hide the panic in his voice as he most definitely, most sincerely, panics. You groan in the toilet bowl at his reaction and Benny stands a little taller, leaning into the bathroom just a little in interest, trying to gauge how you’re feeling and what he should do.

             Do you need an ambulance? CPR? An epidural? Benny doesn’t know what an epidural is yet, but he knows that it’s something they do in hospitals and after he went over to Will’s place and they watched that video about home births, he hopes to god almighty or whatever universal power that’s listening that you decide to do a hospital birth.

             Benjamin Miller wants an epidural, goddammit!
