You hadn’t seen your father since you were very young, only with him for a few short years before he was sent to Azkaban and you were sent to live with family, family that, for the most part, had disowned your father. You were the outcast of your family and when students at Hogwarts discovered who your father was, you nearly became an outcast there as well, had it not been for Harry Potter and his friends.

When your father escaped Azkaban, fleeing for the countryside after Harry discovered his innocence, you received an owl days later, and you recognized the scrawling script from old notes from your father, ones that he had written you before prison. Forbidden Forest. Midnight.

He didn’t even need to sign it off. You knew.

You set off late that night, sneaking out of the castle, you and Harry meeting up to share the Invisibility Cloak. When you got to the forest, you saw a silhouette in the shadows, illuminated only by the strange moonlight glow the forest seemed to possess.

“Dad,” you said, as if you still couldn’t quite believe it, dropping the cloak and running towards him. You wrapped him in a hug before he could even respond.

“Y/n,” he said. “You’re all grown up now. Look at that.”

“I missed you,” you said, stepping back, grinning through your tears as Harry finally shed the cloak as well and followed you to the clearing with your father.

Sirius picked up your yellow and black scarf. “Hufflepuff!” he said. “That’s a first in the family.” He smiled, letting the fabric fall back onto your shoulders. “It suits you. I was the first Gryffindor and now we have the first Hufflepuff. You should be proud.”

You had a million questions, Harry too. “The Ministry is still looking for you,” Harry said. “Do you have a place to go?”

“What happens now?” you asked.

“I don’t know. But I know this…” Sirius started, reaching down to put a hand on your shoulder before pulling you in for one more hug. “I’m won’t be going anywhere. Not anymore. I’m here now.”

“I’m actually impressed Ralph” said Barry, as he gave Ralph a little nudge. “Your wife... well she’s so sweet” Barry complimented. His words earned a smile from Ralph but at the same time, he already knew this to be true. Still, it was nice to hear that he wasn’t the only one who thought so.

“I’m glad to hear that. You know she was so nervous to meet you guys” Ralph informed, making an expression of surprise appear on Barry’s face. It was true. The idea of meeting Team Flash filled you with a significant amount of anxiety. You were just so shy is all. Despite all this you were currently chatting away with Caitlin and Cisco, looking nothing less than comfortable. Everything was going great, just as Ralph assured you it would be.

After explaining your nervous and quiet nature to Barry, Ralph would be greeted with a light chuckle from Barry. “Wow, she’s getting along with everyone so well I would never have guessed she was an introvert” Barry confessed. “Well tell her next time she comes to visit she doesn’t have to be scared, because we all love her”.

With a grin, Ralph nodded in return. “I’ll make sure I do that”.

Sometimes you can’t decide what’s more exhausting—literally growing a baby in your belly, or Benny worrying after you. “What was that?”

You also can’t decide what’s more surprising—that Benny seems to have a supernatural ability to tell when you’re puking, or that he’s at the bathroom in the time it takes you to blink, no matter where he was in the house beforehand. “Lunch didn’t agree with me,” you mumble into the porcelain throne, thinking that this is much closer than you ever wanted to be a toilet in your entire life.

Even when you’re using one, you’re not this close.

             “We should call the doctor,” Benny says quickly, trying to hide the panic in his voice as he most definitely, most sincerely, panics. You groan in the toilet bowl at his reaction and Benny stands a little taller, leaning into the bathroom just a little in interest, trying to gauge how you’re feeling and what he should do.

             Do you need an ambulance? CPR? An epidural? Benny doesn’t know what an epidural is yet, but he knows that it’s something they do in hospitals and after he went over to Will’s place and they watched that video about home births, he hopes to god almighty or whatever universal power that’s listening that you decide to do a hospital birth.

             Benjamin Miller wants an epidural, goddammit!

Ray carried you out of the tubes and Henry followed behind, rushing to help Schwoz as Ray laid you on the metal table Schwoz had set up. Ray strapped you in and Schwoz stepped forward to run tests.

“Is she going to be okay?” Henry asked.

Ray looked at him. “I don’t know, kid.” He leaned to your ear, “If you don’t you are so grounded.” He stepped back, tears forming in his eyes as Schwoz turned and shook his head.

“Whatever he zapped her with…it’s shutting down her system. But if I get the weapon, I may be able to stop it.” He said.

After a long night of pushing, you and Poe finally welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. Everything happened so fast after that moment, and though you anxiously tried to get a glimpse of your son, everyone was swift and so in sync that you missed your chance. Your only reassurance that he was okay were the small cries that filled the room as well as the look in Poe’s eyes— delighted tears filling them. Immediately, you were both rushed to the medbay, Poe by your side until finally a nurse walked in with your tiny bundle and placed him into your arms. 

You stare in awe at the little baby and take note of his features. His hair, just as dark as Poe’s, peeked out from underneath the little orange beanie. He bore the same shaped lips as yours, but that was really all you saw of yourself because stars, he looked so much like his father. 

As you stare down at your son, you feel Poe sit down next to you, placing his arm around you while the other moves under your arms, helping to support the small child.
