So I’m writing an alternate AU for halo where the covenant is swapped with humanity and the infinity is the flagship of the evil UNSC but I’m actually struggling of writing lasky as I villain but I have the cover art done if you want to see it. (It isn’t good but I tried.)

I would LOVE to see the art, and even read some of what you have (and give feedback if U would like)!

As far as writing Lasky as a villain, I revlogged this awhile back and it may prove useful. A villain does not have to be inherently, obviously, overtly evil. The Covenant weren't even that. They were 1: misguided due to misinterpretations of Forerunner text and 2: once the text was properly translated, the Prophet of Asspocketry fried the AI (Mendicant Bias, or a remnant thereof, I think?) that translated it and just didn't tell the rest of the Covenant. So the UNSC would be the opposite side of the same coin.

Much as I'm not fond of Lasky as a villain (he is such a sof sweet mans I just cant 😭), he'd actually be fairly easy to write as one.

Take a look at Thel, or Rtas. Both high-ranking loyal soldiers who were 100% taken in by the Prophet's ideology (like god knows how many generations before them) right up till the bitter end. If you notice, Thel still clings to that ideology even after Tartarus is like "Yeah bruh, ur fucked". It took meeting up with Rtas and learning that the Jiralhanae are actively exterminating their people for him to realize they'd all been lied to. Lasky would likely be much the same; he's shown to have a strong moral compass and drive to do what's right and he's obviously shocked and mortified when Osman orders him to pop a cap in Halsey with no trial, and he dislikes (I'm willing to say, even HATES) her. This isn't dissimilar to how Thel is seen by his people.

If the UNSC is taking the place of the Covenant, I could see Lasky filling the role of Thel 'Vadam: He is fighting a war of extermination based on the ingrained (but false) belief that his family, his race, his very soul are at stake. He's fighting for something that is orders of magnitude bigger than himself, just like Thel did, and feels driven to secure that future at any cost.

Across Dimensions.

(This is a future fan fiction I am writing about mine and a friends Mass Effect oc’s crossing over to the Halo universe. Asks and criticisms are welcome.)

(Smol tidbit, I am a newbie writer so I apologise if my writing is horrible XD.)

Chapter 1: destruction of the normandy.

Ghost POV:

Phoenix and I were walking to engineering, just walking about, we had recently walked through both the command deck, and quarters along with the medical bay, and stopped for a chad with Karen and walked through the cargo bay to get to engineering.

"Hey Addams." I say walking over to the man, as Phe walks over to talk to Tali.

"Hey Ghost. What brings you and Phe down here?" He askes turning away from his terminal.

"Nothing much, There's little to do so we thought may as well walk about, but it also occurred to me that I don't know much about the Normandy. If it doesn't take up too much of your time care to tell me about it?"

"No, I'd be glad to tell you, what would you like to know about first?" He replies. "Hmm... How about the IES system?"  I ask politely as Adam begins to explain.

"Internal Emission Sink or IES as everyone call is for short, enables us to mask the Normandy's heat signature from scanners rendering us invisible."

"I'm guessing invisible until someone looks out a window?"

"Precisely."

"So how does it mask our heat signature?"

"By temporally 'storing' the head in lithium heat sinks deep within the hull. Anything else you want to know?"

I think for a few seconds. "What are the limitations of the IES system Adams?"

"Well the system doesn't work during FTL flight because it blue-shifts the Normandy's emissions beyond the sinks' ability to store, and foe a small period of time after exiting FTL flight. And as you mentioned visual scans or looking out a window will also give away our position. Anything else?"

Before I could respond the ship shook and a few small explosions were heard on the other decks as well as a few in the area we were currently in.

"Tali! Adams! Get every one to the escape pods ASAP!" I yell as they nod and start assisting other crew members out of the room and to were the pods are, leaving me and Phoenix to put the fires out, Adams soon returned.

"Adams get to the escape pods now!"

"No can do, someone needs to keep the engine running." He says heading back to the terminal, I block his path.

"Adams get to the god damn escape pod, me and Phe will deal with that."

He goes to argue again but the ship shook again causing more explosions and a large panel to fall nearly on top of me and Adams, luckily I caught it using my biotics but it was still heavy, and Adams had still not left.

"Engineer Adams! Get yourself to an escape pod now! That is an order!" He looks ad me knowing that I can't hold this panel up forever he nods and goes to leave.

"See you on the other side Ghost." He says as he leaves my sight.

I finally drop the panel, I head to the terminal showing the engines status, red warning signs flash across the screen as another explosion goes off and the artificial gravity is of luckily my mag-boots prevent me from flying off as the screen shows critical failure as the EZO engine begins to glow and overheat, then finally explodes sending me and Phe flying out into space, or so we thought everything goes white as I loose consciousness.

He’s a boots on the ground kinda guy, he hates not having sturdy ground beneath his feet, even aboard cruisers he feels uneasy, he’s loyal, partially strict but will enjoy spending time in the mess with his brothers.
