CW: discussion of genitalia, childhood surgery, medical abuse
A micropenis is any penis which at birth is under 1.5 inches/3.8cm Stretched Length (length measured by gently pulling the penis to its maximum length), pre-pubescent age 2 inches/5.1cm SL or an adult penis of 3.65 inches/9.3cm SL.
A variation that occurs more often in people born with micropenises than the general population is Hypospadias, which is when the Meatus (urethra hole) terminates somewhere other than the tip of the glans.
It is more likely than not, regardless of the gender a person was raised, that a person with a micropenis and Hypospadias has been subjected to early childhood surgeries to move the meatus, among other possible surgeries.
What surgery? aka, paediatric urologists have earned my disdain
If assigned male the urethra is artificially lengthened and the meatus is made to terminate at the tip of the glans. (typically the option chosen today for children with true testes.)
Why is this done?: the assertion that it is better to subject a child to genital surgery, than risk the specific placement of the meatus interfering with standing urination.
If assigned female the meatus would be relocated to below the base of the penis to more aesthetically match a large clitoris.(the penis and clitoris are homologous structures, there is no significant difference between the two).
Why is this done?: this may be claimed to be necessary by medical professionals for a number of reasons, but it all ultimately revolves around enforcing a sex binary on a spectrum. The child may have a vagina or vulva, and this surgery is aesthetic. The child may have no vagina or vulva but because of the discovery of ovotestes, ovaries, streak gonads, or no gonads, it is decided that this child should undergo more radical "sex assignment", usually involving the removal of gonads often resulting in the sterilisation of children who were not born sterile.
In only recent decades it was still the norm for all children born with micropenises to be at risk of being forcibly assigned female, sometimes including penectomy (amputation of the phallus) because it was assumed their penis was not functional.
The majority of the reasons given by doctors for you to consent to surgery on an intersex child are social. That the child will be bullied, or struggle romantically, or struggle sexually... And these procedures are "early intervention".
The only early intervention your child needs, is your advocacy... Advocate for their bodily integrity and autonomy, and once you've brought your baby home you can advocate for a better shame free world.
I was originally going to write a post on micropenises and sex, but I'll have to do that another time
Push back against the stigma associated with micropenises. Remember that there is no community where it is appropriate to use their physical features as knee-jerk assault on a person's character. The culture that uses intersex bodies as a way to cut at those they feel "deserve it", is the same culture that insists we raise the scalpel against those that possess them. These are two faces of the same coin.
I’d think they’d get along ❤️🤭
Please idk how to draw turtle hands asdfghjkl
Ah, that answers a lot of questions thank you.
A little while ago you reblogged(?) a post about not using certain monsters because they belong to certain cultures unless you belong to those cultures - I’m not trying to be offensive or ignorant, I was just wondering, if enough research is done and appropriate respect is taken to those origins, is it ok to use them? I mean, is there something to be said about sharing parts of stories? Is it any different than using monsters from Greek mythology?
You’re referring to this post.
It’s complicated, but it boils down to “Since so often the research isn’t done and appropriate respect isn’t given to the originating cultures, it is better to err on the side of caution; as part of that, abstain from using those entities (especially as they’re typically presented in pop culture), and instead use these substitutes.”
I mean, is there something to be said about sharing parts of stories?
Yes, there is something to be said about sharing–when it’s shared by someone who it belongs to. Otherwise, it’s theft. And cultural theft–of dominant cultures taking the “fun bits” of cultures that they find interesting and discarding the rest–is a massive problem right now.
Let me give an example that’s particular to my culture. My culture is Jewish–or, speaking more specifically, Rabbinic Judaism, which developed from Pharisaic Judaism after the destruction of the Holy Temple by Rome almost two millennia ago. For the last 1900 years, my culture has been living in diaspora at the (dubious) mercy of gentiles, and we’ve developed a wide array of religiously and culturally meaningful rituals, stories, foods and so forth. These cultural artifacts are ours, and I can say without hyperbole that we have been brutalized and killed for practicing these parts of our culture. We have paid, in blood and lives, for our right to these practices as part of who we are.
Now, after centuries of having killed us for our culture, Christians are instead stealing bits of Rabbinic Judaism’s cultural practices for themselves. Christian “Seders” at Passover are a thing. Christians write thinkpieces on why they should celebrate Channukah. After centuries of persecuting Jews for practicing Judaism, It’s considered cute and trendy to take the “fun bits” of Judaism for themselves. (And that’s not even touching “Messianic judaism” and it’s wholesale theft of Rabbinic Judaism’s cultural practices in an effort to convert Jews by trickery).
Imagine how I feel about that sort of theft, seeing it again and again and again…
So you’re asking me if you can use the Golem in your stories?
Well, why should you? Do you know that the Golem was made as a protector by the head rabbi of Prague to protect the Jewish community against the Christian community during a period of repeated accusations of Blood Libel? That it was essentially made as a defender that wouldn’t abandon us, that wouldn’t take our money and turn on us like mercenaries did, when the mobs came with torches and knives to kill the Jews who they believed were kidnapping Christian children to use their blood? That it was a story told by Jewish parents to Jewish children that we would have a magical bulwark to stand between us and a world that wanted to kill us in horrible fashions?
Why should you take that and get to turn it into a generic constructed monster built by a wizard as a dumb defender of his wizard’s tower when there is a perfectly acceptable substitute in the form of elementals, which don’t have that baggage of coming from an abused culture watching the stories that they’ve kept for themselves be torn away from them and used for the enjoyment of the people who persecuted them? Why do you have to take it? Why does your desire for it outweigh our wish that you leave it to us?
As for the difference with the Greeks–while the Greek pagans are making a comeback, the original religion of the Greeks has been destroyed and paved over with Christianity. There’s a fundamental difference between taking from a dead culture and a living persecuted one.
Finally!! The words in this were based off of Hiccup’s narration in the first book of the How to Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. I’ve been working on this for a few months now (on and off) and finally just finished it for the Dragons 2 release. Happy flying for those who are going to see it!!! :)
I had to oddly compress everything because of Tumblr formatting x__X make sure you click the 3 mini pictures after the first/second panel!!!
Thank you for the 14 followers! Sorry have not posted anything original, I have been struggling with medical issues and school. Good thing is that medical issues might be resolved soon and school is almost over. The comic outline I have been working on is up to the 8th chapter.

I’ll never forget when someone I considered to be a close friend said I was racist for stating that Palestinian children are brainwashed into hating Jews at very young ages.
And, yknow what, I think it’s time I address that because it’s been making my blood boil for that past few months.
What about Tomorrow’s Pioneers?
What about this puzzle right here?
What about the fact that Hamas uses child soldiers to kill Israelis and Jews?
What about Hamas’s ‘summer camps’?
What about the fact that a large majority of Palestinian adults hold antisemitic values, meaning they are bound to teach those same ideologies to their children?
What about the fact that Hamas openly supports the Nazi Party while also being extremely involved and tyrannical in their civilian’s lives, meaning they very much could have, oh, I don’t know, taught it to their civilians? HELL, KIDS IN PALESTINE AREN’T EVEN TAUGHT ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST IN SCHOOLS.
It’s not ‘racism’, it’s fact. Stop infantilizing Palestinians.
Condemn Hamas while also acknowledging that their civilians hold many of their ideologies. It’s ok to feel bad for the citizens, but it is not ok to purposely stay in the dark because you don’t like the truth.
My entire life, my mother has taught me about my honor. How I should never let anyone besmirch my name, including myself. One time my mom was accused of doing something inappropriate in work when she had not.
My mom was upset because her honor had been violated by lies about her character. And I thought my best friend would know me better than that. She lied about my character and who I am as a person.
The thing is not even that they went to a song contest to protest against Israel's participation and somehow live under the delusion that that'll help the people in Gaza. The thing is that their protests never manage to be not pro-hamas and not antisemitic. Like, is it really so hard to not suck terrorist dick and dream of "finishing what Hitler started"? Oh and Greta Thunberg was there... anyone remembering her first dive into antisemitism with the Kraken picture (and everyone was like, oh but maybe she didn't know, well, guess she did know and put it there deliberately).
A\N: While I am an Ashkenazi Jew, I have done A LOT of research, and have both Iraqi friends and relatives to corroborate this with. Also, I'm petty - an Iraqi user who comments regularly on my posts seems to forget about his own country's Jewish history... Well, I hope he forgot instead of the more likely reality: It seems like Arabic people nowadays aren't aware of Jewish history in their countries since they either killed to expelled them all. Thus is born the constant argument that all Jews originated in Europe and are merely settlers in the Middle East.
I realized that what may be obvious to me won't be obvious to others since I'm a history nerd who grew up in Israel with plenty of rich archeological evidence and resources surrounding me. I'm happy to make these posts in hopes of educating others and contributing my part to ending antisemitism and prejudice. ___________________
You might have seen the following picture in one of my previous posts:
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Unfortunately, in this case, it concludes hundreds of years of discrimination, violence, and exile for Mizrahi Jews. * It is important to note that numbers are slightly varied between sources, but the meaning is clear.
In a nutshell- all throughout history, the fate of Jewish people in countries where they weren't the religious majority was the same:
Discriminatory laws, blood libels, being blamed for disasters > violence & murder > Pogroms * > and eventually- exile or mass murder AKA ethnic cleansing \ genocide.
Pogrom- the term refers to violent attacks by local non-Jewish populations on Jews in the Russian Empire and in other countries.
Every Jewish community has its own Pogrom. While my side of the family might immediately think of the Kristallnacht or persecution & pogroms in Hungary, it is different for Jews from different backgrounds. You can read about a few cases of forced conversion to Islam here.
The land of Israel has always been considered a strategic passageway, and so many empires throughout history have conquered it:
* I simply cannot accurately write 3000+ years of Jewish history in the land of Israel. I found that this video summarizes it perfectly.
Jews were exiled from the land of Israel numerous times since the Assyrian empire conquered Israel in 732 BCE, to what we call "the diaspora" גולה. It was not by choice and we were persecuted everywhere we went.
Jews were not allowed to legally return to Israel until 1948 when the British mandate over the land of Israel ended and Israel was formed. Yes, even during the Holocaust.
The Jewish answer to exile - Aliyah עליה There have been 5 waves of illegal immigration from all over the world to the land of Israel before 1948, recorded in modern times.
Chart taken from Wikipedia (their chart was the best I could find in English)
Whether in conquered Israel or in exile, Jews were often forced to convert to either Christianity or Islam. The choice was between conversion or death.
*You can read more about some of the forced conversion of Jews during history here and here.
Peki'in is an ancient village in the upper Galilee, Northern Israel. Nowadays, its population is mostly Druze.
Peki'in has had a Jewish presence since the Second Temple period, until Arab riots in the 1930s*. Meet the remaining member of the Zinatis, the only family who returned. (aish.com)
*Read more on the Arab riots of the 1930s here and here. Margalit is currently the last Jew living in the village of Peki'in . She is the last direct descendent of the Zinati Cohen family. The Zinati family's origins are dated back to the Second Temple era. The former Jewish community of Peki'in maintained a presence there since the Second Temple period (516 BCE – 70 CE). That is when the polytheistic Persian Empire conquered the land of Israel. For reference- that was approximately 500 years before Jesus was even born! "During which the Second Temple stood in the city of Jerusalem. It began with the return to Zion and subsequent reconstruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, and ended with the First Jewish–Roman War and the Roman siege of Jerusalem." (Wikipedia)
As an adult, Margalit chose to not marry so she could stay in Peki'in and continue her family's Jewish legacy in Peki'in. She later became in charge of the ancient synagogue in the village and turned her basement into a visiting center \ museum of Jewish history in Peki'in- "House of Zinati". in 2018, she lit up a torch as part of Israel's 70th Independence Day Torch lighting ceremony (which is considered an honor given to influential and trailblazing people).

Iraqi Jews are one of the oldest documented Jewish communities living in the Middle East. It is estimated that they originated around 600 BC.ת
The Farhud الفرهود הפרהוד
Unfortunately, Iraqi Jewish history ended in the same pattern I've described earlier. The Farhud was the violent mass dispossession against the Jewish population of Baghdad, Iraq between 1-2 June 1941. was the pogrom or the "violent dispossession" that was carried out against the Jewish population of Baghdad, Iraq, on 1–2 June 1941, It immediately followed the British victory in the Anglo-Iraqi War.
Background for the Farhud:
WW2- At the time, many Arabic countries in the Middle East agreed with Nazi ideology.
History of violence towards Jews.
The Anglo-Iraqi War (2–31 May 1941) - caused rising tension, and as usual, it was turned on the Jews.
personal family ties to the Farhud My relative was born in 1939 in Iraq, to a big upper-class Jewish family. Unfortunately, the mass exile of Jews in the 1950s didn't skip her family: she was stripped of her belongings and exiled to Israel along with her family. In the 1950s there were approximately 140,000 Iraqi Jews. As of 2021, there are only 4 left.
----------------- Please feel free to add anything I missed in the notes. And as usual - remember I am a human being. If you cuss or harass me, I will block and report you.
