Naruto is like the greatest love story told accidentally by a guy who with the best intentions, really needed a second opinion.
As someone who is watching Naruto for the first time as an adult, despite being an anime fan for years- I think I honestly may have underestimated how impactful the show is.
I vaguely remember having some friends in elementary school in the year 2008, secretly shipping Naruto and Sasuke but I never bothered to learn more about that because I didn’t watch the show.
Now I see the vision. Honestly I’m quite shocked parents didn’t learn how gay Naruto and Sasuke were and didn’t protest to stop their kids from watching it in the early to late 2000’s. Like you’re telling me, millions of children were watching Naruto and Sasuke declare their love towards each other (platonically I suppose) and just staring at the TV screen, taking it all in with eyes glued to the action. Inspirited by what they say, they went to a website called YouTube and made some of the first AMV ever with Linkin Park playing over the two characters fist fighting eachother in the most angsty way ever?
Damn
What I’ve been missing in my life
Naruto and sasuke still make me so insane like I already said this yesterday but few other relationships in fiction perfectly capture the gut wrenching heartbreak of having an intense homoerotic friendship and then having a messy falling out as teenagers
What’s sad was that I did like it for the first season but then I started to get annoyed with weird plot holes, character motivations, occasionally off putting music, bad acting and horrible dialogue. I binged it in three days with no spoilers. I watched it right after watching SOTL which in hindsight was a bad move because it created an expectation that was not matched at all. Something tells me that I won’t like the books either because the red dragon plot was boring as hell.
The characters were okay but I thought Will was a better character than the character the show was named after. I know it’s different actors so different interpretations of the character Hannibal but he seemed really lack luster and a little repetitive with all that cooking nonsense and talking in riddles and metaphors. Don’t even get me started on Bedelia’s way of communication through breathy whispers of constant riddles that always sound like questions than statements.
...
The one slightly hilarious thing about Bedelia was that she broke confidentiality to casually make a gay joke that only her and the viewers are in on. It was the only human thing she had ever done in the entirely of her character arc.
FINAL FANTASY XVI (2023) — Joshua & Clive Reunite
i can’t believe nbc hannibal didn’t get a homoerotic religious foot washing scene but death note did
He covered everyone else’s face but Sasuke’s. This guy I SWEAR.
He’s not handling his absence well smh
After rewatching episode 9, can someone please write a fanfic about how Papa Kazuki and Rej are going to deal with Miri getting a boyfriend?
Even better give me a second season of Buddy Daddies and have it be the version of Bunny Drop we deserved.
the real reason howl kept his castle moving was tax evasion
Update: it’s not an ESL thing it’s literally the whole “I like pancakes - so you hate waffles” mindset that mainly comes from American users. As someone living in Canada, I’ve never experienced anyone who has that sort of mindset before and I used to work in mental health services. I’m so Canadian that I thought it was a language barrier because the black and white thinking is really bizarre to me.
The issue I have with Sakura stans as another Sakura fan is that some have a tendency to think black or white. I’m unsure if it’s because of how much hate a character who really didn’t deserve it got during the Naruto heyday.
Regardless, if you have an opinion that isn’t 💯 positive all around, a subsection of fans will attack you. Like you can literally say nothing negative about the character and people will act like you do.
Maybe it’s a ESL thing. I find that if I’m having a discussion with someone and it’s clear to me that we are talking about two different things, the miscommunication is from a language barrier, people can’t read well or it’s anger issues that makes people skip words.
For example, I had a discussion about Sakura and Naruto’s dynamic with Sasuke. I said that Sakura is the more reasonable one as Naruto’s constant defending for Sasuke even though he’s technically wrong is absurd. But that’s just Naruto. He sees the good in everyone, even people who genuinely don’t deserve it at times.
Somehow someone took that and responded with I’m calling Sakura a whore, bitch and dumb and that I’m sexist. If Sakura did it she’s that but when Naruto does it it’s endearing LMAO.
Me dunking on Naruto and saying Sakura is more reasonable is apparently swapped in that person’s mind.
Honestly there is a reason why people don’t like Sakura fans because some of them took the hate that her character got and took it in the wrong direction.
How does Nagito know about the ancient ruins? He was not initially there when everyone gathered around it back in chapter 2 and they never brought it up until Chapter 5 when the remaining survivors were looking for the bombs. That point he had already hidden it there for a short bit.
