Human Spatial Memory is Made Up of Numerous Individual Maps

Spatial memory is something we use and need in our everyday lives. Time for morning coffee? We head straight to the kitchen and know where to find the coffee machine and cups. To do this, we require a mental image of our home and its contents. If we didn’t have this information stored in our memory, we would have to search through the entire house every time we needed something. Exactly how this mental processing works is not clear. Do we use one big mental map of all of the objects we have in our home? Or do we have a bunch of small maps instead – perhaps one for each room? Tobias Meilinger and Marianne Strickrodt, cognitive scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, investigated these questions in a research study.

The research is in Cognition. (full access paywall)

I’m prayin for us to overcome self-consciousness, shyness, whatever is in our way. You’re not defined by your blog or your online presence. I love you and know you can do anything.

Please fire me. I get in trouble for my “lack of efficiency” but I’m working on an computer that still has a floppy disk drive and runs on Microsoft Windows 2000! It’s 14 years old… Oh, and I get constant alerts of shutting down due to a thermal event. It heats up so bad it sounds like it’s gonna take off.

Save Your Computer

I have the worst luck. I’ve broken five computers and four laptops but I’ve finally learnt my lesson. After losing my work so many times, I have been great at rewriting because I’d never backed anything up. Take it from me:

Even if you backup your work in one external source from your computer, back it up online or in as many places as you can

Back up according to how much valuable work you have so if you save work/programs frequently, back up once every week

If you have a Windows computer, go onto Control Panel and search “back up”. Click on the first link and follow through from there

Do not wait until it’s too late

I may add more information on if I can think of any, but here are some useful links on some other ways to back up your computer: Windows help to backing up files How to Back Up a Computer (among other devices) How to Back up Data The absurdly simple guide to backing up your PC Three Best Ways to Back Up Your Files 6 cheap ways to back up your files 8 Ways to Back up Your Computer Files How to back up your data Done a Computer Backup Lately?

Sometimes I really wonder how people manage to be larries but also kind of think that louis is some kind of idiot that just accepts whatever ‘nasty selfish Harry’ is doing like he’s some love fool that just accepts things while the fandom clearly sees through said version of Harry like what kind of relationship do people think they have? And do people realise they are basically questioning louis’ intelligence?

If you read a great book, or see a really good film, they can change the way you view things. It’s the quality of the things you invest in that’ll add to who you are.

Figs

{Foods of the Sunnah}

There is a surah in the Quran, At-Tin, named after this sweet fruit.

Figs Resemble the Fruits of Heaven:

Abu Dharr said, “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was given a basket full of figs as a present. He said to us, "Eat!”. He ate of it and said: “If I could say that a fruit was sent down from Heaven, it would be this, as the fruit in Heaven has no stones. Eat it, as it cures hemorrhoids and it is useful for treating gout (arthritis).” [x]

Figs

“By the fig and the olive”

(At-Tin 95:1)

Figs contain substances which promote lactation for mothers who want to breast feed their babies. They also aid in the reduction of risk for breast cancer for some women. Figs are very useful in treating hemorrhoids, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned, gout/arthritis, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned, inflammation, and menstrual disturbances. Figs essentially are one of the most useful foods found in nature having over 50 uses medicinally. (x)

The love you give today, is an investment in the future, for the future is seeded by what you sow today.
