ren amamiya just saying no but seriously p5 persona 5 royal p5 joker it’s not that I think Akechi is a bad character quite the contrary I think he is a very well written character I just absolutely hate him I hate the kind of character he is and I don’t vibe with his story at all and I agree it’s more of a frenemies dynamic than actual lovers with joker hell I personally think Akechi is more the friend you can’t save person for Joker joker suffers from a martyr complex and so wants to save everyone and sees his inability to save Akechi on the ship as a failure that’s why jokers wish in marukis reality is for Akechi to come back funny story but when I first played persona 5 royal I didn’t get the final conversation between Akechi and Joker in the cafe after Maruki left bc I assumed I couldn’t sacrifice and betray everyone just for my needs and later I was so confused what everyone was referencing in their Akechi x joker art so I do believe there is a way to play this game without it being enemies to lovers with Akechi and joker and I also agree I ship ryuji and joker too haha
