Reblogging is too much fun at this point
Alex: what are you, 5?
John: 5 feet taller than you!
Alex:

John: please don’t hurt me
I just want to remind you all that Vegemite chocolate was a thing in Australia in 2015 and holy shit did this circulate in my high school despite how disgustang it was
Which means that Nick probably would have tried it. Do you ever think he brings it up with the Hacketteers?

today on "my thoughts on Hamilton": Hamilton and Laurens
I'm not getting into the historical facts and theories about these two, but imo they were lovers
the first time I watched the musical I was actually kinda disappointed in the lack of subcontext they showed. there isn't even that much gaybaiting.
then I thought "well its hard enough to establish a show with a almost all POC cast, that's also breaking traditional musical rules. give em a break"
it would have also undermined Alex' devotion to Eliza from the very beginning so probably wouldn't been the best idea story telling wise.
but then I watched it again and i noticed some looks, "Lauren's i like you a lot" and so on - BUT most importantly I wanna talk about their costumes.
when burr introduces Hamilton to Laurens, Lafayette and Mulligan they very soon form a friendship quartet. something bugged me while watching for the first time, but it took me a rewatch to realise what it was.
Lafayette is wearing blue (idk if this is nod to him being French, for me the association is there), Mulligan is wearing green so you'd kinda expect Ham and Laurens to wear red and yellow to complete the google/windows -esque primary colours scheme... and they kinda do. depending on light and shadow their coats appear more yellow-ish or red-ish. but that's the thing! they BOTH wear brown-ish/orange-y coats. they're not the same but they're WAY more similar to each other than anyone else coats.
maybe I'm over-analysing and it doesn't have to mean anything... but I really like the idea of their costumes hinting at something more between these two
So, when I wrote The Different Types of Intelligence the Hacketteers Would Have, I mentioned how I believe that Nick would be a massive booknerd and have high linguistic intelligence. Today, I thought I would fangirl some more over a fellow Aussie and expand upon some of my headcanons for him. Some of these are based off of my own experience as an avid reader, however, I have tried to mostly just include what I believe he would enjoy reading based off his character.
So let’s get into the nerding out!

Okay hear me out:
Nick and Jacob are both deeply insecure. But I think that Nick fears that he's not enough-- not cool enough, not funny enough, not charming enough, not manly enough-- while Jacob fears that he's too much-- too stupid, too emotional, too needy.
But they both try to cope by pushing away that part of themselves. Nick has the tendency to go along with what the others want. He'll copy Jacob and Dylan, let them push him into things he might otherwise be uncomfortable with, act in ways he thinks they would ("hey, do me!") because they're his model of cool. Meanwhile, Jacob acts overconfident. He's insensitive, he's crass, he's mean ("one of Ryan's stupid podcasts"), he acts like he doesn't have a care in the world. And both of them are willing to open up about their vulnerabilities to the people they have feelings for, if they're able to get over the insecurities first.
I think that's why they butt heads at times. They're two sides of the same coin.
I'm in love with whoever runs the official The Quarry Tiktok account they're very supportive
