some jared line deliveries that stuck in my head during rewatch
is this a safe space. I have something to say about john winchester
the whole "dean knew it was the demon cuz john would never say he's proud of dean" fanon idea bothers me
for one, that's not what dean says in the scene. he says that john would be mad wasting a bullet and not be proud of him for that specific thing, not that he wouldn't be proud of him ever. secondly, john goes on to say that he really is proud of him when he's back to himself.
fanon likes to villianize john and I just can't get on board with it :/ like john at his core LOVES his family, would and has killed and died for them.
and besides, isn't it much more delicious to think that the reason dean thinks john wouldn't be proud of him is because they leave it unspoken? that instead of telling their love for each other, they show it, and assume that the others would also kill and die for them. all that tension and miscommunication..... yummm
I vouch for Sammy a lot because so many people misunderstand him, but I will say that the most frustrating thing about his character in season 4 is he keeps. leaving. Dean.
He left Dean the same night he learned he was alive to go find Ruby. He left Dean when he was being attacked by the witches/demons because vengeance was more important than being with his brother (regardless of Sam actually getting to kill the monster). He left him after he fucking choked Dean out, to go find Ruby/get a lead that ended up being a ploy. Dean is dysfunctional so of course that’s not the reason he’s done with Sammy, but it would be enough for me if I was him. How do you claim to love your brother and then you leave him more than once? Of course Sammy loves Dean, but his love for his brother fell to the wayside for “more” but actually less important things. You best believe if my brother was dead for four months and came back to life from hell I’m never leaving his side again, he’d have to beat me with a stick to get me away.
This is why Dean says he can’t trust Sam. Because he can’t. Because his life was in his hands multiple times and Sam chose something else every time. Sammy fucked up royally and there’s no easy fix for it.
“the unity we seek is not to have everyone stand in the same place, but look in the same direction- towards Christ!” (more or less, i was trying to type quick lol)
i love uchtdorf, his talk was SO GOOD
Happy Easter! ☀️
having worked with kids that age, the hate actually breaks my heart. because have you ever met a 3 year old? they’re temperamental and can be difficult to manage but they have the biggest hearts and care so much. they make so many mistakes because they’re so new. and with jack, it’s like, of course he had an emotional blowup, he’s (essentially) a toddler. they don’t have the experience to develop emotional regulation or read social cues, they just don’t have the experience. in my eyes jack can do no wrong, not because all of the things he does are good but because he’s a toddler.
y'all literally, i cannot tolerate any jack hate At All
Mine by Taylor Swift is theee SamJess song
Think about Sammy and he's five years old and he says "Spicy water!" when the waitress at the diner asks what he wants to drink. And she laughs and looks at John for an explanation but he doesn't have one and can't bring himself to admit that his nine year old is the one who usually takes care of the kid.
She brings a seltzer water and Sammy takes a sip and makes a face, because it's not the spicy water but the fizz is good too and he loudly declares that to the waitress. She smiles and gives the family a free slice of pie because the kids are so cute.
Later that night, back at the motel, John sees Dean pouring holy water into Sam's sippy cup and saying "you can't tell Dad that the water's spicy" and his heart shatters all over again.
