Okay: enjoying studying serial killers and criminals in order to get a better understanding of how their minds work and why they did what they did.

Not okay: looking up to serial killers, trying to justify what they did, trying to humanize them by claiming they were misunderstood

This has been a PSA. Don’t erase the victims of serial killers.

sam wilson appreciation post.

there’s no one in the mcu more caring, and gentle, and empathetic, and kind. he is the best friend everyone needs. someone who will call you out on your bs. someone who is kind enough and loves you enough to tell you what you need to hear even if you don’t wanna hear it. someone who treats you like family and gives you a place to stay. someone who listens and takes ones feelings into consideration. he’s the one you call one when you’re in trouble and need help.

sam wilson is just a good man. i say it all the time, i know. i can’t help it.

and they way he interacts w everyone in the show just makes my heart explode. he tries to reason with his enemies. john walker deserved nothing more than to rot in cell, but sam still wanted to talk things out. he comforts bucky, yes, but he also tells him what he needs to hear. he’s there for his family and doesn’t leave them behind despite the war he’s fighting against the flagsmashers. he believes in karli. ugh, i could go on and on about this man.

and bucky barnes. let’s talk abt character development for a moment. first off, he smiled genuinely too many this episode. i cry. anyways, the way he recognized his wrong and APOLOGIZED. HE APOLOGIZED. writers and directors always just kinda blow it off and leave the viewers assuming that the characters have made up and that it’s all good. but bucky apologized to sam. that- that is what i’m here for. as a poc that means so much, bc a lot of non poc don’t even make an effort to understand, to try and empathize. he tried. and he did.

lastly. i love this show. i love these men. bucky barnes is beautiful. sarah wilson deserves the world. i wanna take aj and cass out for ice cream. sam wilson was lookin like a snack and servin us lots of beautiful melanin.

yeah, sam wilson is my hero. sam wilson is captain america.

end of the story. goodnight.

White people: if you want to help long term: get used to being told your opinion is wrong, irrelevant, or unwanted. Tell your friends to get used to it. Work on getting used to it and do this work with other white people. Because white supremacy has all of y’all very usedĀ  to being right and being an inherently valued voice and if we’re going to fight white supremacy you’re going to have to be comfortable surrendering that expectation and also white people will need to learn how to handle being rejected or disagreed with. It’s an extension of racism and racial trauma for black people to try and educate or speak up about our issues only to expose ourselves to your white fragility whichĀ  makes you defensive– this defensiveness can look like shutting down, silencing us, painting all corrections or disagreements asĀ ā€˜fighs’ (extending the idea that black people are aggressive) etc.

White resilience is the opposite of white fragility and black people are VERY good at resilience, unfortunately. Listen to us we know how to combat this.

the latest clip wasn’t a carbon copy of evak or whatever the fuck. sana is at home. the way the space is occupied is something that’s very important to mena muslim culture. shes with her mom and the boys are in the living room. yousef entering when she’s peeling is IMPORTANT because sana doesnt feel alienated just with the girls. there’s also a distance with the expectations she has to fulfill as a muslimah, which was previously highlighted beforehand through her discussion with her mom. yousef showing her how, showing her that he is also unconventional according to tradition but still respecting her space. them having an adorable moment of peace was completely different than what the kitchen scene meant for evak. it’s unique only to them. it was beautiful and meaningful. the whole ā€œyou need to bring it towards youā€ was also a very neat nudge towards addressing sana’s tendencies to distance herself from her feelings and bottle them up. the clip being called ā€œinsha'Allahā€ is also important, since that’s what her mother says to her when sana expresses her belief that her husband will cook in her future home. it expresses uncertainty but possibility, as well. yousana may or may not happen but they are suited for each other. beautifully so.
