“Dang, soz my dude,” Mason said for what seemed to be the millionth time that morning, “Uh..fourth time’s the charm right?” They could say this never happens, but that would be a lie, the day was already off to a terrible start, did Mason really want to make it worse by lying? It was a simple order and for him to get it wrong three times was just next level messed up, “Sleep deprivation is a killer, let me tell ya, I do hope you’re having a better day than me.”
“Other than the fact that I also overslept so I’m late for our Thursday morning store meetings? My day is going spectacular,” she tightly grinned. “If only skinny dipping in the complex pool until the break of dawn didn’t have such severe consequences.” Laurel rubbed her forehead, lightly glaring at the cup of coffee that Mason, once again, botched. “I haven’t been able to book any esti appointments for tonight. Need to find someway to market business without the beauty popo hopping on my jock.”

You joke but Bryant could use a big sister. Just saying. Yeah he loves the vegetable medley juice boxes so thats a plus but he doesn’t like peas now…
You could always... just lie. A little white lie couldn’t hurt anybody.

“I never thought that! Why is it so surprising? I mean, even though horror movies are based on real facts, they have some freedom to adapt the story to the movies. Like Annabelle. The real life doll is very different from the one they decided to put in the movies. And documentaries can’t have that freedom, they are supposed to tell all the ugly truth and lose some of the appeal they horror movies have”
“Isn’t that all the more horrifying? That it’s really happened to someone else so it could happen to me too?”
kirby-powell:
they cocked their head to side thinking really hard. scary movies were not kirby’s first choice thing to watch. “um… scary movie 3.” they replied with a small shrug. “it counts. i saw it in theaters and was convinced the girl from the movie was going to kill me.”
“just because the title has the word ‘scary’ in it, doesn’t mean it’s scary. do you know what is a horror movie though? titanic. i stand by that.” laurel wasn’t that well-versed in all things horror movies. if it weren’t for liv and livvy, her knowledge would be that of an amateur. perhaps she asked simply to gather recommendations. “it was one of the ten movies my family and i watched together back in baltimore.”

Greer had nearly walked past the young woman taking some sort of apparent poll, but the small bit of movement caught the corner of her eye. She stopped in her tracks and looking back at the young woman who asked her a question as she removed an air pod from her ear. “I’m not sure I’m gonna be the most help,” Greer admitted, closing the few steps between the two. “The scariest thing I’ve watched recently was probably Trolls, and I think I was mostly just horrified that I didn’t have enough self-respect to just turn it off when it started playing. It just… sat there and let it happen to me.” She paused for a moment, lifting her shoulders into a casual shrug.
“But, um… I have to ask: what is Ghostface?”
Laurel couldn’t blame the other for not having that knowledge -- it wasn’t until she established her freedom that she delved more into pop culture and cult classics. According to her parents, if she had the time to watch a movie that time could be better delegated to studies. “Trolls wasn’t that bad. The soundtrack album sold out at Crossroads after the first week it as released in theaters.”
“But Ghostface is the serial killer in the Scream saga -- highly recommended. I’m thinking of even hosting a marathon party for it. It’d be a good way to start your horror movie to-watch list.”
laurel remembered spending a day’s worth of her paycheck just to buy a sturdy and worthy hard hat with a light mount specifically reasoning that it would be absolutely necessary for hers and roman’s cave explorations. they had yet to find any buried treasure but it was more about the moment and experience than the actual discovery. “after all, isn’t what we discover about ourselves at the end what it’s really about?” she murmured to herself. she turned to the doctor with a smirk. “remember, wear your hard hat anywhere but your head.”
