so there's a wall with the name of the school in all the languages once spoken in latin america. its a pretty big wall

they teach parseltongue in school, cuz the school is in the fucking amazon rainforest and most of the wizarding beast are snakes. believe me you don't want to meet a boitata without knowing how to explain that you're a good guy

carnival is a thing. in the whole carnival week everybody wears fantasies and listen to old carnival muggle songs

junine festival is also a thing

there's no official language in castelobruxo. classes can be in spanish, portuguese or even indigenous languages. everybody is a polyglot in the end of school year

there's also kids from other countries, you can ever find a british or an japanese kid very often

as good latinos, we don't like europeans and americans, but also as good latinos, we're very friendly with them when they come to study here

we don't have houses

the school is not a castle, and is so fucking big that almost looks like a village

jk rowling said that the school was founded in the 10th century, well guess what, europeans had no fucking clue about america yet, so the school was founded by indians

also, because of the tratado de tordesilhas the school was in spanish territory, so the first non-native wizards in america were from spain

just when the amazon became portugese territory the portugese wizards also took the school

and thats when they changed the name of the school to castelobruxo

MODERN HISTORY OF CASTELOBRUXO ( the last centuries )

* founded by native people from mesoamerica close to the 1000’s. accepted wizards from the arounds, that meaning Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, the tupi-guarani tribes and many others

* was a majoritarian indigenous and black school till 1808. ( even that brazil was already a colony and there were european wizards living here, most of them still send them kids to beuxbatons, specially the richer ones )

* when the portuguese court came to brazil, the first wave of european wizards were accepted in the school. a lot of change happened in the following decade, the Center Pyramid that used to be the where the students slept, ate, had classes and etc became just the place of certain classroom and the “Great Hall” was expanded ( now is the largest of the wizarding schools )

* the european wizards ( mainly from portugal and britain ) created the cooling charms because no way those aristocrats bastards would let of go of the ✨aesthetic✨

* new dorms were built in every style of architecture imaginable, you can walk by and see a colonial house with white and blue walls and dark wooden floors next to an oca. light pink and yellow buildings in a 1600s dutch style can be found ( a home for the recifenses )

* the european wizards weren’t supports of the actions of white muggle society ( slavery and genocide ) but refused to meddle on matters of muggles, resulting in loads of conflict that only began to wear thin in the 1900s

* the chayporas / caiporas are actually friends with mischievous and rebellious but good students. Same with Saçi.

* almost everyone is a polyglot by the end of the school year but there are translations spells and you can take classes on almost every language from latin to tupi-guarani

* there’s a village floating on the river where the professors live

* brazillian students tend to be the best at sneaking out and argentinian students do it because if the brazilians can do it so can we ( but brazilians have the malandragem on their side )

* boto-cor-de-rosa teaches transfiguration

* they hate the stereotype of the soccer and samba but you can find a group of muggleborns playing soccer in the quidditch field
