Voice of The Hunter
Trying to mimic the Artstyle of Slay the Princess was fun to do!
This is an artwork of an upcoming STP fic,I have no braincells or else I would've wrote a snippet.
Now Off to rewatch the entire gameplay again
I might make an AU of this... I'm still thinking about it tho. If I'm feeling good enough I could even make a fanfic. I dunno. We'll see. I've seen a suggestion for the chapter name which is "The Twisted." I like it. Might use it. Any suggestions or ideas you want for this AU?

Headcanon that TLQ speaks without a voice.
Like, what he says and how he says it is very much audible. His words, his tone, what he emphasizes and how much he emphasizes them. Even some of the normal qualities of how voices work are still there, like how it’s harder to make out what he’s saying if he’s behind a wall or far away.
But the voice itself just…isn’t there? No cadence, no pitch, everything that determines what a voice sounds like is missing.
It’s like…text that your brain registers directly as words. Dialogue from a character in a visual novel who hasn’t been granted a voice.

The Ray of Light
- Zeus equivalent, solely because he is the king of gods. Vague weather abilities, oftentimes uncontrollable. I like to think he smells like rain. "ray" is also like "rey" which means king.
- Red can have all sorts of meanings, but red is also one of the very few used colors in Slay the Princess, so it works especially well for him.
- He has a lot of softer edges, since he tends to favor that which gets less people hurt. Reasonable, yes, but comparitively softer than most voices.
- A triangle for the pupil, specifically one pointing up. Meant to be similar to a blade's point, but the similarity to a magic 8-ball was definitely a win design-wise. It is empty (unlike others, you'll see later) because he gets influenced by other voices, and it can change.
- I think he has a very lean, sleeper build that he hides under an oversized undershirt. In most terms, however he is perfectly average amongst the other voices; average height, average build, as normal as it gets.
- Also meaning that he is the most like Quiet. Just a little softer, a little less prone to violence. More of a Hero than a Slayer.
The Flora
- Demeter equivalent, since the Witch route has so much to do with nature, and he shows off some hints at it too (his own senses mirroring hers, some other stuff). Demeter is also represented by poppies, which fits for that route. Since Demeter has a lot to do with food, and plants that have to do with food, I thought of it as a good counterpart to the chapter of the Beast, who has to do with animal food and meat rather than plant food.
- Orange has a lot to do with confidence and boldness, and my goodness, does oppy got that. Warmth and vibrance, but undoubtedly a symbol of danger and warning. Pretty and safe, if you know what's good for you.
- The star patterns, as I've explored before, are pretty literal. He is sparkly and beautiful but you aren't supposed to get close. Only to be admired from afar, will hurt you if you step any closer. Every sharp part of him is hidden under a fluffy or smooth exterior.
- Cat-eye pupil with a glint whenever he has some sort of plan or trick up his sleeve, which is more often than not. It always seemed to me like he was moreso the predator within his route.
- He's a little bit smaller than the Hero, and he likes it that way. People like and trust small things. He does try to seem more approachable and attractive with the shaping of his feathers; he purposefully preens his chest to be more accentuated. Unfortunately for him, small tends to mean weaker. However, he is very, very sharp when he needs to be.
- He is a little cleaner, a little more condensed than the Quiet. Always something hidden away. Always preying on someone's downfall.

and here are some like mini ideas? things i thought about while imagining their dynamics (they probably aren't accurate to rema's ideas so take them with a grain of salt)

don't know if I'll get to draw anything for pride, but here's something I need to put out there:
Slay the Princess is probably the most aromantic love story I ever seen
from the way it's told, to how the characters go about it, there's just smth inherently aromantic about the love story between Shifty and Quiet. Smth about how attraction is rarely brought up, how even the most straightforward romantic routes go about it in an unconventional way, the way the characters themselves describe their care and love for each other– it's just so. so very queer in many ways. And as an aromantic person who almost never feels any form of attraction and relates to loveless aros, there's just smth really comforting about a love story that goes about it in the most unconventional ways possible.

ive said before that i think he likes to cook! and garden!
for various reasons ! cooking gets people to like him, and he likes when theyre all together. he also doesn't like food made by other people (trust issues and ocd tendencies) so he'll do it more than anyone.
i also think he gardens :)). the route of the witch has a lot to do with nature itself (rather than the beast, which is more to do with the fauna than the flora) and i think that rubs off on him. he likes to grow plants to have specific uses, especially ones that help issues that some others have. paranoid needs something to help him sleep? cool new incense he found. conty getting rashes from running around in the woods and tripping on poisonous plants? oppy's got some mushed up leaves for ya. skeppy needs an easily digestible capsule for a medication? oppy found this sweet syrup that easily solidifies. he likes having their solutions.
this also goes into his wishes and desires. as implied in Reunite, he wants to be respected. people acknowledging him and accepting him as just as good as (if not better than) the rest of them.
a big wish, a dream perhaps, would be , one day, someone coming to his home with some gifts. something nice to pamper him. a day where someone gives their full attention to him, full of praise and comfort. he really wants to be loved and liked like some of the others (but he'd rather die than admit it)

Hunted, who's wings didn't fully develop and so he's never been able to fly
Contrarian, who flew too close to the walls and got some wings torn off as punishment
and Broken, who's muscles atrophied from lack of use and now have no bone mass even if he tried to rebuild his strength.
the most-so autistic, in my headcanons, are hunted, cheated, and hero. others are on the spectrum of adhd (conty stub and smit) and add (again cheated) as well. i always have my paranoid with anxiety and my opportunist with aspd/sociopathy. oppy and broken also have ocd in my mind, of varying degrees.
i don't go into it much but i think skeptic fidgets and tics sometimes? his hands need to be busy or they'll start acting up.
i also never cleared up cheated's eternal bandages, but those cause him a lot of pain and are under constant maintenance.
oppy's got scoliosis in my head. its just real to me. he probably has to wear one of those correctors and he doesnt even dislike it because it protects him from stabs in the back.
