I decided to play through a bit of Undertale to usher in the new year. Once I made it a certain distance through Waterfall, I checked the time on my phone and realized that I would be able to make it to the castle view just before midnight. Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to take in the new year than taking in this view.

Maybe I can take this as a sign of hope. Maybe, despite this journey being…strange, heartbreaking, downright comical, and even a little scary…maybe things will work out. Maybe things will finally be better. They may not finally be perfect, but they’ll be in a better place than they were yesterday…and the day after that…and the day after that. Sure, we’re far from the end of the journey, but we’ve already come this far. So, what’s stopping us from seeing it through? You can see it right in front of you.
