That's not something you can change your mentality around in 3 days- that's something that needs Active And Purposeful Dismantling Within The Deeper Psyche. And to be quite frank I don't believe they'll be willing to do such work, because it's not Profitable to remember that Your Audience Is Real People, Not Numbers.

Em-dashes are some of the most common “odd” punctuation. Have a character with two last names? Two middle names? A street name? An interruption in dialogue? A mocking way to refer to something? A made up name for something? seriously these guys are annoyingly useful.
