What do we think c!dreams limbo is?
apropos of nothing, here’s a quote from a medical paper
‘for just about all prisoners, being held in isolated confinement for longer than 3 months causes lasting emotional damage if not full-blown psychosis and functional disability’
sometimes I remember the fact that c!quackity canonically brought shears with him to pandoras vault and I have to go and lie down
c!dreams actions are bad enough on their own,, you don’t need to make shit up!!
Currently sad that raw potatoes have vitamin c
:(
C!dream antis will really argue that torture is fine as long as the character has done enough things wrong, and then call us the abuse apologists
It’s really fun being in a fandom with such a terrible reputation /s. I only witnessed the shit show that was superwholock and homestuck from afar, but now I get to experience it first hand!! Every day I wait with bated breath for our first truly iconic drama
With C!dream claiming to be a god, there are three options.
He’s telling the truth (which is a definite possibly when taking into account c!dreamxd), he’s lying, or he genuinely believes it.
If he’s lying, he was quite literally dehumanising himself. He was trying to make other people see him as a just a threat, instead of a person. It would also serve as a way to purge himself of his attachments, after all, what deity cares about mere humans?
But if he genuinely believed it, that is a delusion of grandeur, and should be taken seriously. It can be a feature of mania or psychosis, and can be extremely dangerous. (C!dream does not necessarily have either of these conditions, but it is concerning nonetheless)
I’ve seen a lot of people say that c!dreams behaviour in pandoras vault is him ‘manipulating’ everyone, and whilst I personally don’t think so, I wouldn’t care if he was. Even if he is altering his demeanour to illicit sympathy- it’s for the goal of avoiding torture? So many of c!dreams actions are unjustifiable, but that is most certainly not one of them.
If during exile, c!tommy had been lying to his visitors or to c!dream with the end goal of securing his freedom, that would be 100% understandable. If his suicidal ideation had been an act to bring about the end of exile, these actions would have been seen as clever, as a smart tactic c!tommy was utilising. Most people would see this manipulation as a way of escaping his abuser.
In addition, if someone is self harming ‘for attention’, it still counts as self harm and needs to be taken seriously. The fact that c!dream is in such a desperate situation that he has committed suicide multiple times is extremely worrying-regardless of any other outcomes he is attempting to achieve.
thinking about c!dreams clock once again
Constantly throwing it away makes so much sense, beyond just as a way to see c!sam.
The constant ticking only serves to let him feel every second of his time imprisoned. To know exactly how many days he’s been locked away, that’s a torture all on it’s own. But so would ignorance. To be unsure of how much time has passed between each delivery of food rations. Are they coming further apart now? C!sam comes to give him a new clock and says its been only a day, but he’d been so sure a week had passed.
an effect of solitary confinement is paranoia. C!dream begins to suspect his clock has been tampered with. It speeds up, slows down. Surely it hasn’t been that long yet? And yet, surely its been longer?
he cares too much about this inanimate object. Anytime he realises that he couldn’t bare to have it taken from him, he destroys it himself.
