DAN HENG • IMBIBITOR LUNAE ♢ The Prodigal's Return
The events of my previous life are like unfamiliar shadows — hardly visible yet following me wherever I go. It's hard to describe the feeling, but one thing is for certain — I am nobody's shadow.

I'm 17 and also have pcos. What are your tips and recommendations for dealing with it? Especially with weight loss
ok well i will just start by saying that all of this is very googleable and ive been doing my own research over the past few weeks but i havent really started putting together my diet plan until today, so im not basing this off of my own personal success but on what ive read. i recommend you do your own research as well but ill condense mine as best i can!
limit intake of grains/gluten and processed carbohydrates. this is my main focus rn bc its a very difficult thing for me to do, but its basically the first point listed in any PCOS diet plan. limit things like bread, bagels, chips, crackers, pasta, etc. that are high in gluten and processed grains. if you have trouble cutting out grains completely, stick to whole grains like brown rice or quinoa.
limit intake of processed sugars. obvious one but processed foods take more insulin to break down, especially processed sugars. avoid candy, cookies, baked goods, etc. but do eat dark chocolate if you want something sweet!
limit intake of dairy. this is hard to do obviously and not high on my list of priorities, but apparently dairy can cause the creation of more insulin which is exactly what PCOS diets are trying to avoid.
eat more above-ground vegetables and dark fruits. above-ground veggies just means avoiding root veggies like potatoes and yams—which goes hand in hand with the avoiding carbs thing. dark fruits like blueberries, blackberries, and dark cherries are good. other fruits are good, but try not to overeat fruit because it does have a lot of sugar (albeit good sugar) which can increase insulin production.
limit consumption of red and processed meats. stick to lean protein like cold-water fish (salmon for example), turkey, eggs, and chicken.
stick to good fats. nuts, olive oil, avocados, and other foods that are high in good fats are beneficial to any diet and can help fill the spaces that carbs leave in your stomach!
eat things you like! if you eat things you enjoy you’re more likely to stick to this lifestyle, so stick to things that you like that fit into this plan. for me it’s things like salads, watermelon, and almonds—foods ive always loved but also happen to fit into this diet. find what works for you and it’ll be a lot easier to stick to your plan!
exercise and live an active life as much as you can. like with normal people, doctors recommend that people with PCOS lead a healthy and active lifestyle. doctors recommend 30 mins to 1 hour of exercise per day. diet is the main thing for managing PCOS, but exercise can help a lot with the weight loss aspect if you pair it with eating well.
anyway this got kind of long but i tried to put in everything ive read. you can also check out this site which is all about managing PCOS with your diet!! good luck and i hope this helped you!

I know that it seems as though things cooled down in Palestine after the ceasefire, but they haven't. Sheikh Jarrah is now under blockade, no one from outside of the neighbourhood goes in or out smoothly, and sometimes Palestinian residents resort to sneaking in. The court order to forcefully expel Palestinians to replace them with settlers is still awaiting.
Silwan, also in East Jerusalem, has been facing severe colonial violence and segregation and is awaiting the same faith as Sheikh Jarrah, where the residents of 6 neighbourhoods out of 12 are going to be displaced and expelled by Israeli authorities and U.S. settler organizations.
Facebook and Instagram are deliberately censoring Palestinians, labelling almost every post, story, and comment as sensitive content. Not to mention the Israeli paid censorship of hashtags such as #SaveSheikhJarrah & #FreePalestine.
The Israeli MFA is investing millions of dollars to attack, blackmail, and censor celebrities and official bodies that support Palestine, pushing further the instrumentalization of antisemitism to counter the criticism of Israel, and Palestinian liberation. These tactics are both harmful to Palestinians and Jewish communities actually facing antisemitism, colonial, imperial, and racist oppression.
Palestinians in 48 (Israel- Occupied Palestine) are facing colonial oppression on multiple levels; Israeli Police are violently arresting online and offline activists for engaging in peaceful protests and for advocating for Palestinian liberation, Israeli's are firing Palestinian workers and company employees, while also boycotting Palestinian local products, and physical assaults in the streets are still very much a thing.
In Jaffa, there are approximately 300 forced expulsion orders for Palestinian houses, by the state-owned colonial real estate company ' Amidar '. An estimation of 20,000 Palestinians are now living under the threat of being homeless. This is just a continuation of what Israel and its neo-liberal colonial companies have been doing to Palestinians in 48 ' lands.
Since May 10th, more than 25 Palestinians were killed by the IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces) in protests in the West Bank. Since the "ceasefire" Israel invaded al Aqsa, detained 500+ Palestinians, surrounded Silwan & Sheikh Jarrah, demonized the entirety of Palestinian society in Israeli and right-wing (but not only) international media, protected armed Israeli civilians in assaulting Palestinians, and let Israeli civilians/soldiers/police officers who shot Palestinians dead, walk free.
Don't Stop Talking About Palestine.
Save Sheikh Jarrah.
Save Silwan.
Save Jaffa.
Free Palestine.
