Sometimes Gatekeeping Is Good!
Okay but fr I think mild gatekeeping in alternative subcultures is okay, because I think we shouldn't just let anyone in.
I don't think a Trump supporter should be able to say they're a punk and I don't think someone who sees goth as PURELY "egirl" fashion should be allowed to call themselves goth. Idk if this makes me sound like an asshole but imo if you don't regularly listen to the music or aren't aware of the history/movement behind a subculture, you aren't in it.
I do think there is a level of gatekeeping that is too far but my brain can't put it into words rn if you understand.
BRO THATS WAY SIMPLER THAN HOW I GOT INTO HIM ๐ญ
I was going through my Breakfast Club obsession so I looked up a playlist with all the songs and since White Wedding was on there it came on and I started listening to it on repeat ๐ญ๐ญ
how did you get into billy idol
One of my irl friends showed me some of his songs :3
Caged Wings Had this idea in my head for a while now. Finally gave it a go. Though my original idea was of a caged tiger, it somehow became birds as I sketched. Maybe I'll make another version with a tiger in the future~ Here's a quick timelapse. The full hours long 6 recording sessions for this painting, plus HD image and PSD file will be DMed on Patreon.com/Yuumei on April 5th.
I NEED HIM
people are misinterpreting this so much. OP isn't saying you don't just hate kids in general because you don't just hate things for no reason.
you don't "hate kids," you hate being forced into a caretaking role.
you don't "hate kids," you hate censorship passed off as family values.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the constrictiveness of the nuclear family.
you don't "hate kids," you're just not used to occupying fully age diverse spaces so you're not used to the noise or the many different kinds of needs.
you don't "hate kids," most public spaces just aren't built for kids, and so the few kids you see are always uncomfortable and distressed.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the intense social rules assigned to kids and anyone who interacts with kids.
You don't "hate kids," you hate how society reproduces its most restrictive elements and how kids are powerless to resist it.
yeah it did for me at some point too lol
I physically canโt stop listening to this song, itโs addictive

i don't know if i'm trans but i've realised i'm uncomfortable with my body and i feel the same way as you wearing feminine clothes, i just pretend i'm a femboy tbh
PRO TIP FOR TRANS MEN: if you are forced to wear hyperfeminine clothing or makeup and that makes you dysphoric, but youโre not out yet/in a position safe enough to come out, hereโs how I make the situation LESS uncomfortable. this is what works for me and is not guaranteed to work for you at all.
Anywaysโฆ pretend youโre in drag. Just go all out. Wear heavy makeup and dramatic eyeliner or the most feminine dress you have and just pretend itโs drag even if itโs NOT. Just pretend. Note that this may not work if your dysphoria with makeup and feminine clothing is VERY strong. Mines is mediocre discomfort, as I could probably wear dresses just fine if I had a flag chest.
