Losing my mind but the prospect of Damian being so otherworldly beautiful and thriving at the face of catastrophe is so tragic to me idk why.
Like oouuughhhhh little boy how does it feel to look like the moon and the stars before you implode and your stardust gave birth to a new constellation???
Like baby boy my baby why are you the sole hope for humanity to exist and the key for peace and co-existence?? Little Damian did you know that your hands are the gentlest in the future where that would cost you?
How are you the embodiment of horror and all that is bad yet the symbolism of love itself?
Why are you in hell and looking up to heaven while cradling creatures of the fiery pits? What do you mean you found a companion in the shape of something you don't even know while laying in the midst of bloodshed of your own doing??
You are cruel yet so, so kind. You look at something so grotesque and decide to cradle its face with tenderness and care. You look at something so unlovable and decide to love it first.
Damian al-Ghul Wayne why are you so tragically beautiful when you're not supposed to?
clark kent with his superior smell not smelling a drip of alcohol coming from brucie waynes breath and wondering why hes dancing in his boxers acting drunk in the middle of the gala

Summary:
“Because it’s all your fault!” Kon snapped.
Robin bristled, eyes narrowing. “Oh, it’s my fault, is it?”
“Yes!” Kon tugged at his hair in frustration.
Robin stepped forward, closing the gap between them, getting in Kon’s face. “Enlighten me. How exactly is any of this my fault?”
“What color are your eyes?”
“I-” Robin took a step back in bewilderment. “What?”
~
Kon has been distracted and Robin finally confronts him.
Okay everyone, help me pick an idea to fixate on. I have too many drafts and no self control.
Failed Experiment Kon: the learning modules being uploaded to Kon while he’s being grown fail to work properly. He wakes up early with almost no knowledge of the outside world. Luthor decides to scrap him for parts; enter young justice who vehemently disagree.
Broken Belfry: tensions are high after Bruce returns from the timestream. Tim is sick of being discredited and treated poorly so he leaves to make a new life for himself. Probably Tim/Kon
Black Sheep: All of the Wayne children have reasons to feel they don't belong. A series of vignettes exploring their relationships with their family.
Anything for you: Dick kills the joker and Bruce doesn’t stop him. Jason’s headstone bears the correct name. Bruce refuses to allow the memorial in the cave to remain. The Wayne’s publicly mourn and Tim never wears a dead boys colours. This changes things when Jason returns.
So I've had this thought for a while. If anyone's seen the Suicide Squad movie, there was a scene with The Joker and Harley Quinn where he exclaimed how he was an "idea".
And I can't help but think of Batman being the same. An "idea," a myth. A method of suppressing the crimes that have haunted Gotham for years. I thought of Bruce not seeing himself as a person, merely an idea utilised for "the mission."
And how this is pretty angsty for the younger bats. Age consumes everyone if accidents don't. And I can't help but imagine the kids just watching as the man that built their world, that nurtured them the only way he knew best in a world he considered surviving another day as a luxury. They'd watch him push himself to the limit, surpass it, and make new limits just to surpass them again. They'd watch, knowing he could never stop. How he grows older, white hair overtaking the black, crows feet at the edge of his eyes. And he still wears the cowl every night and breaks his limits again and again and again.
It's terrifying. Being in the sidelines of that. Knowing you'd either die trying to live up to that or live the rest of your life like a ghost once you do. And they hate it. How much Batman has shaped Gotham, how his shadow has spread so far and wide they'll never escape it. And they hate it more when they can't even seem to make themselves truly leave. Yeah they'll spend time away, years even, but they'll always come back one way or another.
And every time they do, they know they'll come back to a consumed creature more than they'll come back to their father. I just love to think they can never truly leave because they are the humanity Bruce has lost to the cowl. They come back because they're the human part of him, battered and bruised but with beating hearts more alive than he could ever dream of being again. How he used the meagre humanity he had left to raise these children before it died when they grew independent and left.
Or maybe I'm just obsessed with the trope of Bruce losing himself to the cowl. Idk. I have a test, and I'm sleep deprived.
why do I suddenly want to write a 20 chapter fic....
The only acceptable trans Tim headcanon would be Tim introducing himself to the batfam as a boy from the get-go with such confidence that no one questions him. Then, his first solo case as Robin is investigating the disappearance of Jack and Janet Drake's "daughter," so he pretends to have a twin sister by forging a bunch of documents and photoshopping family pictures. He then fabricates evidence of her death, committing multiple crimes in the process, and holds a fake funeral at the end. Because if his previous name is dead to him, he's gonna kill it the Tim Drake way
