SPOP Appreciation Week 2025

This upcoming May will mark the 5 year anniversary of the finale of Dreamworks' She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. To celebrate, we're hosting a Big Bang with lots of fics and art, but we wanted everyone to be able to participate in some form.

Introducing SPOP Appreciation Week, a week of prompts to help us celebrate our fav and show the cast, crew and fandom itself there's still a lot of love for these characters out there.

How to participate

What can we make? Anything! Text posts, edits, show meta, fanart, fanfic, or even love letters to the show, cast, crew, or fandom itself. The main point of this event is to celebrate the show and get more posts out there overall, so think outside the box.

Where do we share? Everywhere! Anywhere! AO3, Tumblr, Facebook, Bluesky, Twitter, Instagram, etc wherever there's SPOP fandom.

Prompts can be interpreted anyway you like or ignored entirely if you want to do your own thing. Go out of order if that's what the muse wants, the point is just to make stuff and celebrate the show!

When you make your post, no matter what platform you're sharing it on, tag it #weloveSPOP2018 along with all the usual SPOP fandom, ship or character tags. Why this tag specifically? So if we do happen to trend anywhere, we ensure that Crew-Ra / Mattel / Netflix / Dreamworks et al understands which version of She-Ra we are celebrating.

We'll be reblogging our favorite SPOP Celebration posts on our sister blog, SPOPBang to keep them separate from the Big Bang posts so you don't have to tag us so long as you're using the #weloveSPOP2018 tag.

Remember: you don't need to make something long or complicated to participate! Whether it's silly memes, heartfelt posts about what the show means to you, fanworks inspired by the prompts, or using the prompts as a jumping off point to talk about your favorite scenes or character, we'd love whatever you have to share.

And if you have multiple things you want to post for each day, by all means, please do! The more, the better!

In addition to new content, we'd encourage you to reblog/retweet/re…bluesky older SPOP content during the celebration week to add to the nostalgia.

Tip: If you've got an idea for a post now, schedule it to post in advance so you don't forget! Tumblr and Twitter (well, on desktop anyway) let you schedule posts in advance natively. The app Buffer even has a free plan that will let you schedule posts on places like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky.

Been watching Blast of Tempest and Aika seems like textbook haunting the narrative. She's dead before the story even begins. Technically she's not the only main character that's true of, but that's different.

"haunting the narrative" is one of those phrases i wanna put up on a shelf. not all characters that are dead haunt the narrative. not all characters that are dead haunt the narrative. not all characters that haunt the narrative are dead.

*Marcy notices Sasha's back scar and winces* Marcy: I can't believe I did that to you. Sasha: What? Marcy: That scar on your back. It's on you forever and it's because of my mistakes. Sasha loving her scars... scars given to her by her two loves... refusing to cover her cheek scar with makeup to make it less aggressive-looking, refusing to tattoo her back scar... maybe her parents admonish her for not trying to "look prettier" or pretend go go back to normal, and maybe people give her weird looks when she's in the beach or wearing something revealing enough for her whole back to be visible. Maybe her cheerleader friends hesitate to let her back into the squad because these are judgmental teenagers we're talking about, and that scar on her face is big and it freaks them out a little. People she dates always ask about them, and when she feels like answering, she smiles and tells them she had a hard time accepting her scars at first, but now they're happy memories. They're proof of how much she's grown. How she's become the best version of herself. She wouldn't get rid of them for anything in the world.

When she makes her way back to her two loves, she discovers there's no more blissfull feeling than that of Anne's lips on her right cheek and Marcy's lips on her spine.

Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.

I always wanted to make a fic or comic about Anne becoming a secret government agent (while posing as a mild-mannered herpetologist) just so she could sabotage that project. Or to find a way back herself.

So yeah, that'd be a pretty good opportunity for her to become besties with Mr. X
