Hi :D The blog I use as a main blog is @sobbingdistantnoises, send non band related asks there? <3-This blog is (mostly) purely for metal+punk bands I like and (mostly) purely for stuff I cut from a larger source myself: correct quotes, gifs, edits, clips, obsureish facts, the occasional other thing. I do my best to always include sources :) -I do not post here as much anymore, but I do still listen to almost exclusively metal+punk, so maybe eventually I shall make my proper return -<3

Metal Mania was a metal fanzine run by Rob Quintana. Issue 8 was released in 1982 and discusses groups such as Iron Maiden, Lååz Rockit, Exodus, Vicious Rumors, Scorpions, Lionheart, Saxon, Girlschool, Venom, Y&T, Diamond Head, and many more, often obscure, bands.

(Hopefully) Obscure Band Facts
The Diamond Head song "Am I Evil?" was referenced in Lords of Chaos, a film about the black metal band Mayhem, in a scene where two of the band's members, Euronymous and Varg Vikernes, were burning down a church. In the scene, Euronymous asked, "Am I evil?", which was followed by the two shouting "Yes I am!" in chorus.

In 2019, four spider species were discovered and named after Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden singer), Rick Allen (Def Leppard drummer), Klaus Meine (Scorpions singer), and André Matos (Angra singer) by Christina Rheims.

The inspiration for Exodus' song "Bonded By Blood" was when the members of the band at the time (Kirk Hammett, Paul Baloff, Gary Holt, and Tom Hunting) cut each of their hands with a razorblade and rubbed their blood together out of appreciation for being in a band together. Kirk still has a scar on his left hand from this and has called it one his favorite memories with Paul.

Dave Mustaine has had a stuffed bear called Hanley since at least August 7, 2016. Hanley also appears sitting on Dave's bed in a video on Dave's YouTube channel, meaning Dave likely took Hanley along on the 2022 Metal Tour of the Year. Below is an image of Hanley taken from a post on Dave's Twitter account.
