Oh boo hoo! I didn't translate the list in the exact same order! I'm kinda mad about DuoLingo being picky about things! I know that it's probably some sort of weird function involving an <ol> tag somewhere, but it's like...why do I have to get penalized about "pen and pencil" as opposed to "pencil and pen"?
Today's #throwbackthursday is brought to you by a WIP based off of UCF's branding. It feels oddly appropriate to bring this up while I'm seriously thinking about going back to school at FSU. . . . . . #artistsofinstagram #digitalpainting #illustration #ucf #pegasus #yellow #black #gold #horse #wings https://www.instagram.com/p/B1fhsxihN13/?igshid=htgdbyvvckia
Here, have an animation for Star Trek’s 50th anniversary!
Even if it was technically an assignment for my advanced illustration course, I had fun with my sorry excuse for fan art (Yes, I grew up with Star Trek in the 90s. My parents and I would watch both TNG and Voyager together, and TOS on occasion.)
I also had fun revisiting nebulas and space as subject matter for digital painting, and this was a lovely excuse to do that, too. Also, this was actually the first time I’ve ever used overlays in something, to be brutally honest. You’d think I would have touched them at some point if I’ve known Photoshop for years...but nope. Not once.
I may have to make a Zelda 30th anniversary illustration and a Pokemon 20th anniversary illustration to accompany this as well, as I grew up with those, too...(and without parental influence.)
This is my Day 1 for Inktober—and like a total nerd, I decided to draw a greyscale Alolan Muk for the theme of “Poisonous”.
I know Alolan Muk is super colorful, but I’m thinking that keeping the greyscale palette that I intend to keep for my (mostly neglected) webcomic would be good practice.
I’ve actually gotten off of my butt to produce a logo design draft at 4:00 AM for my roommate’s new company that they’re using for subcontracting work. (And my portion of rent is gonna get reduced for this, so eeyyy.)
I somehow managed to forget a couple of Adobe Illustrator shortcuts off of the top of my head, but I got back into the groove of it after a few seconds.
Other than a few technical tweaks and any personal requests, I’m pleased with what I can spit out in about 2.5 hours.
So, I’ve decided to work on the roughs for an old comic project I’ve wanted to do for years, and @plaguenurse did a remix with the baby being punched today.
It’s very dark humor, and it’s like…it makes me feel bad, but it’s also hilarious, and it’s just one of those things where I don’t know how to respond to it.
I am super happy to call this finished. It’s not perfect, but it’s at the point where my personal standards are satisfied at this time.
I can finally go on to another page, and probably try to learn how to do things faster, I suppose.
I found myself revisiting an old drawing that touches upon a lot of the same fears and feelings I have right now—and I have to say that I’m pretty happy with what I can do these days with my speedpainting skills... even if I don’t have a lot of time and I’m kinda weirded out by the sense of deja vu.
I officially have two finished webcomic pages now! I’m pretty happy about this development.
Also, my attempt at playing Passpartout was pretty fun, although I was sad that my favorite doodle of them all didn’t sell in the game. Oh well.
Ok, so I managed to finish the illustration components for the cover of the webcomic I wanted to get to, and do some of the logo revision work on the side.
Additionally, I think I have an additional reason to continue streaming on a weekly basis—namely, because I can make 15-minute silly fan art like this with the power of peer suggestion.
(BTW, the Spiders Rohan badge is transparent, for all of your transparency needs.)
This is only a 4-6 hour rough draft, and I wanna give this guy a lot more polish later... but I decided to start grinding through drawing this character design for a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fan character that I’ve been playing as in a Jojo tabletop RPG @plaguenurse set up. (Also, @arzeron also has a character.)
I figured that I should get to it because 1) I’m kinda sad about Chester Bennington’s passing, especially when I went out of my way to name this guy’s stand “New Divide”, and 2) on the roll20 site, I’m kinda disappointed with my laziness when I look at a pair of scissors and a picture of Richard Hendricks from Silicon Valley for the stand and the user, respectively. (Btw, I named the user Jonah Joplin, for additional Scott Joplin/Janis Joplin references. Also, he is an ambiguous Jojo. Maybe he’s a Joestar, maybe he’s not. We just don’t know.)
Greetings and salutations! I'm a graphic designer/illustrator, and this is my Tumblr. Feel free to check my about page for more info about me. Also, I only post my own things here—almost all reblogs will go to @dandyreblogs. Check that out if you're into aesthetics and other curious things.
