Before the Anger- episode 17, "Dress to Impress"
Note- Alphys may or may not have anxiety (its the former)

Before the Anger- episode 44, "Annoying Kid!"
((“Here, child, you can cut up the carrots!” Toriel offered Chara a knife with a big smile. Chara’s hands felt ice cold; the knife, the sharp edges catching the light; Toriel’s disgusting, monstrous grin; her claws grasping the handle. Chara raised a hand to her mouth to cover her disgust and rushed out of the kitchen without a word. Toriel watched her leave, a confused tilt in her head.))
I love Papyrus and Sans's dynamic. There's a lot of complex psychology in the little details (do you notice a theme in these comics?)

Before the Anger- episode 29, "Commencing Telephone Call!"
Ah, yes, Gaster. There are more important things than stopping your children from burning down your house. 🙄
*the fire is blue, you noticed? Surprisingly, the color of fire has purpose.
((Elaine temporarily lost her determined posture and mumbled, “Yeah…” There was silence as they both recollected themselves. Undyne broke the quiet, “I was… in a similar position when I was a kid, about ten. I know you don't want to hear this- I know I didn't- but… you gotta get a caretaker.”))

Grillby, noo...
In this picture, she's showing them how to say "asshole". Papyrus is trying to copy her (success rate... not looking good) and Sans is just watching and learning. Ah yes, such good influences the skeleton brothers have...
This is Grillby IV as she appears in BTA: a teenager. She is sixteen. Technically, this is not her first job, since she helps her dad (Grillby III... It's easier to keep naming heirs "Grillby" than changing the name of the restaurant) at the restaurant. But this is the first one she's being paid for!
All of the Grillbys are proficient in sign language, since fire can't talk. Don't think too hard about that, the Grillbys aren't much more than a bit XD
Before the Anger- episode 63, "Siqua's Day"
Oh, Undyne gets some psychology, too? Is she feeling imposter syndrome, perhaps? And in typical kid fashion she switched up very quickly lol
Siqua is feeling very validated in this comic :)
I have decided that I want to make the holiday specials off of the normal comic schedule since they aren't technically timeline-cannon, (they are in-character, though!) and I don't want to take up an actual episode with something that didn't actually happen there.

Before the Anger- episode 35, "...No. (pt. 2)"
((Elaine had a stupid look on her face; brow furrowed, eyes wide. She had never been asked that before. Elaine inhaled, fixed her face, and looked Undyne right in the eye, “Elaine. I want to be called Elaine.”))

I remade the cover for Before the Anger on Webtoon, since the old one was so low quality. This one is much simpler! I also redid the bio ⬇
BIO: A prequel to my AU, UnderAnger, taking place in 1994. "Before the Anger" stars Alphys, our socially inept pacifist living in a genocidal world, as she is first hired as a royal scientist. As we follow her ridiculous antics, the past slowly unravels: the secret to why magic has faded, why the underground has truly adopted "kill or be killed", and... Siqua and Gaster's disappearance.
(If anyone's wondering, no, the red string is not Error xd. Its the main villain, who has not been introduced yet!)
Comic
Before the Anger- episode 24, "Picnic Party (pt. 7)"
Casual foreshadowing :)
((Undyne noticed Elaine's eyebags and, being well acquainted with young, aspiring royal guards begging to be taught, smiled and said, "Have you been here all night?" Elaine stared, stone-faced. "Yes. I need to talk to you."))

I made that drawing of Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne as kids, so I decided I'd give Gaster and Siqua the same treatment!
Its just little digital sketches. I first started this page thinking it was just gonna be hand doodles, so Gaster is signing "red" (very dramatically) but then I got carried away with drawing the kiddies...
Gaster seems pretty standoffish even as a kid.
Not sure what magic I'd give Siqua. I just made it vaguely watery-looking. It doesn't matter much, her magic can be up to interpretation! She never really used it anyway.
Baby Alphys has shown up before in the comic... But now she's accompanied by someone.
Side Stories:
What are ((side stories))? They are short, written texts at the end of Before the Anger episodes to give us more information/ enhance the storyline. They give us narratives from the past, future, or just general stories that wouldn't fit in the main storyline. The ((side stories)) often stretch over the span of many episodes before they resolve.
((The Monster with No Name))
((She had no Appetite.))
